Ha Ha!!! Welcome back Puree (who I must say even with her 'disability' and heaviliy preggers state was still wearing her pearls today and did make a yummy chocolate cake)- you have been sorely missed hun! I can report that Cecily is ridiculously cute and saying lots of clever words!

Tedi (P&P was Essie) thanks for the vibes - dunno why they didn't work but please send more. Oh and I did have a nap this afternoon when I was meant to be cleaning up. Guaranteed Luke will be in bed by 6.50 again like last night. I am very excited about your book! It is actually an amazing story - I imagine there is a story behind a lot of adopted kids. The fact that you are already numerously published (you know what I mean!) means we shouldn't have to wait long and you probably alrady have an army of fans!!

Got to go and get Lucifer Luke now from nursery. Laters

DomesticGoddessInTraining · 20/01/2010 20:35

Welcome back puree! You've been missed. I spotted a link to your blog on fb a while ago and thought it was very good. Where you off to for your summer hols?

I'm a bit traumatised because I have come home without my trusty iphone and can only hope it's lying on my desk where I left it today.

Granny update - she's still hanging on in there. Determined old bugger that she is.

Amber meant to say in previous posts - sorry about your latest bout of sleep deprivation. It really sucks.

Puree, how long has C been in a bed for? Am thinking that babypearls is maybe a bit concerned about the Kraft takeover hence the allegiance to mars instead of cadbury creme eggs?

Am very of all the clever talking babies. Can some of you remind me that your babies aren't too chatty yet

pureeandpearls · 20/01/2010 20:41

Thanks Amber and DGIT....I have to say I think that Toddlypearls' talking is only due to the fact that I have no-one else to talk to on your average day!

She's been in a bunk bed (bottom of course) since before Christmas so it's taken her about four weeks to realise that she can get out (we do have a bed rail) DH has just gone up to check on her and found her asleep on the floor next to the door, so it's not going that well (LMAO.....) Excellent point about Cadbury concerns. Glad to know babypearls is sapping all the knowledge out of me as I can't remember anything these days. I got DH to wait in for Tesco's delilvery this evening. It didn't turn up and when I checked it's actually arriving tomorrow!

Sorry to hear about your Granny DGIT. Thinking of your family xx

ktpie · 20/01/2010 21:17

Puree! Good to hear from you! I've spent the majority of today on the sofa too, when I try to do anything various parts hurt so I've given up.
How much longer have you got? I'm impressed by the bunk bed, even if it isn't being slept in.

I am having big problems with maternity clothes not fitting, all my jeans are too tight now when I sit down so I'm sat here in a maternity summer wrap dress from being pregnant with J with a jumper and a cardigan over the top, my legs are a tad chilly but at least I am vaguely comfy. DH has made some helpful remarks about the crazy old lady who lives near us who wears a similar outfit, although she teams hers with wellies (in all weathers), he also made some comment about needing a homer simpson fat hat to go with my fat dress. No good for going out or having anyone round! Seems a bit pointless (and too much effort) to buy anything else at this point.

DG - not much talking going on here, the odd hiya at the moment but he is biding his time. Lots of pointing at the moment, everything seems to need pointing at.

Tedi - interesting story about your Mum. Will we all get a signed copy of the book

Amber - I'm impressed by the tennis, from my viewpoint of sat on the sofa that seems incredibly active!

Neenz - glad to hear you are feeling sick again

PP - great news about your doc and about feeling better generally, he sounds good.

PP - that sounds like an ordinary shopping trip for us, if J isn't physically restrained in his pushchair or a trolley that is the sort of thing he is up to.

I am sure I had other fascinating things to say but have run out of energy so hi to everyone else!

spongebrainbigpants · 20/01/2010 21:48

Marking my spot - nothing interesting to say .

DebInAustria · 20/01/2010 22:02

Goddess, thinking of you, your family and your feisty Granny x

Puree - welcome back, we missed you.I remember it taking Stefan a few weeks before he realised he could get out of bed then finding him asleep on the floor too!

Re a few words that are recogniseable - mama, dada, hiya, and then some which only we can recognise nanaaaan for nanny, mamaaaa for grandma, dede for stefan and chichi for Tristan.

DebInAustria · 20/01/2010 22:03

also tedi - thinking about you tomorrow

PuddingPenguin · 21/01/2010 02:32

Great to hear from you Puree! You have my sympathies on clothes not fitting, as do you KTPie. I wore a huge tent top with leggings for pretty much the last month of my pregnancy. Lucky it was summer but there were a lot of overnight washing and drying!

DGoddess - Ry is very noisy, but not many discernible words.

Anyone else got a ridiculously clingy baby at the moment. Ry wants to be picked up every 5 mins and it's getting a bit tiring TBH.

Amber - LOL at Lucifer. Well done on the tennis lesson. Been playing lots of badminton here, but at a very slow relaxed pace.

DH is off to a Brit shop over here for haggis (Burns night soon), hob nobs and black jacks.

Bugger - lord and master has just woken up from his nap. Back later.

PuddingPenguin · 21/01/2010 02:37

Puree - I love your disclaimer on your blog!

PiggyPenguin · 21/01/2010 08:06

amber hope you has a better night last night.

good to hear from you puree, glad to hear that babypearls is doing well. I am also really impressed with her big sisters talking. J can manage ma, dada, josh, cheese, this, whatsthis? (surely a sentence??) oops, yes, no, ow, and probably a couple of others I can't think of right now. So we're not talking the worlds greatest conversationalist here.

tedi, its such a sad story for your birth-grandma. She obviously never got over loosing your mum and that is an awful way to live a life.

neenz · 21/01/2010 13:23

Puree, great to hear from you, your post made me laugh. So is it a good or bad thing that your mum is coming for so long?

I am feeling yuk again today - work totally wore me out yesterday so I have taken today off. I do feel bad cos i hate letting them down but I am just not up to it. I have a sore throat too today. I am going back to bed soon (kids at CMs).

Hi everyone else

Amberc · 21/01/2010 13:30

Another shite night - hey ho.

SpiderWilliam · 21/01/2010 13:49

Hello. Having an hour of wanting to get off the toddler gravy train, but it ain't happening as P mostly does not sleep in the daytime.

Very little talking here: yes, no, cheers and woof.

Amber you have my sympathies as do the other non sleeping people. P's night time sleep is so much better, so I am trying to count my blessings on the daytime stuff.

Hilarous moment at music group today when one little boy interpreted the "twinkle twinkle little star" opening and closing hands action as an invitation to run up and grope the poor teacher's boobs (baby signing for milk maybe?). His mother was somewhat embarassed.

Amberc · 21/01/2010 15:46

haaaaaa!!! That was hilareous SW!

SpiderWilliam · 21/01/2010 16:12

Yay! P went to sleep, but not until 3.40. Still, I am enjoying a moment of tranquility. It feels as though the whole of today has been a battle: getting dressed; going up and down the stairs at the right time, refusing to put coats on.... I could continue, but wont bore you with the details.

Amber glad to make you

Tedi how did it go today? Been thinking about you.

Goddess how is your Gran?

Ktpie I can visualise you in your summer dress with all the woollies on. Hope you aren't too uncomfortable.

Puree So nice to have you back on the thread.

SpiderWilliam · 21/01/2010 16:33

Goddess just bought some plimsolls from Boden with the £10 off voucher you mentioned the other day. So thank-you .

P now awake (45 mins power nap). Probably just as well he doesn't sleep more in the daytime. Think how much internet shopping I would do then!

DomesticGoddessInTraining · 21/01/2010 20:43

Happy to be of service Spider. i got delivery of some gorgeous shorts and t's for S (early shopping for our summer hols). Despite being desperate to see him in them I think that's taking the dressing him in too-big-for-him 18-24 months too far

Thank you all again for good wishes re: my granny. My dad saw her today and she was drinking tea and eating scones. I swear she'll outlive us all...

Had a bit of a shite day today but I think it's just because I'm feeling a bit out of sorts.

Amber sorry you had another rubbish night. S wasn't brilliant last night either. We were doing CC at around 1am which was fun...

Must go and crack on with some chores. Got friends staying this w/e as it's my bday on Sunday so need to make the place look semi presentable!

DoNotFeedMeBiscuits · 21/01/2010 20:58

Has anyone read this thread I don't think I've ever seen such a unanimous AIBU, but the OP comes back, sees the error of her ways and it all ends happily ever after!

DebInAustria · 22/01/2010 06:16

OMG - last night the condom broke! It was the day after my period and my cycle is only about 22 days, please tell me that there's enough spermicide on these things to stop anything happening. Apologies to those trying to conceive but it really would be a disaster for us.

DomesticGoddessInTraining · 22/01/2010 07:13

Can you get hold of the morning after pill Deb just to be on the safe side?

abdnhikinginawinterwonderland · 22/01/2010 07:14

5:30 this morning - horrible. When we have mornings like this I hate this SAHM thing. Fraser will be tired and grumpy all day but he wouldn't go back to sleep. Sympathy to everyone else who deals with this on a more regular basis.

Deb fingers crossed... maybe consider the morning after pill? although if it's just after your period, the chances should be very low.

OP posts:
DebInAustria · 22/01/2010 08:29

made an appointment with the Dr, people on conception thread thought that it would be possible to conceive now due to short cycles so better to be sure. Problem I have is that it doesn't feel quite right to take this after the event, even though I don't want to be pregnant. I know in my head it's no different to being on the pill or having a coil, it just feels the wrong way round. I'm rambling now and Ethan's crying, got to go.

SpiderWilliam · 22/01/2010 08:51

Deb good luck with the Docs. I am sure it will all be fine. I don't envy you having to have the conversation in German though.

AH poor you on the 5.30. It's not funny when that happens.

Biscuits that AIBU was strange. As a Dr yourself, how would you respond if someone turned up in your ward when they had been told to go to another hospital? The woman sounded like a bit of a loon rather than just worried about her DD.

PuddingPenguin · 22/01/2010 09:57

Glad you've got an appointment Deb, I understand why it feels a bit strange. However you are looking after your boys by taking this action. Hope the appointment goes well.

Has anyone heard from Tedi?

TediBersMorRad · 22/01/2010 10:28

Hi all, everything ok at the breast clinic. Thanks for all the good wishes!

Back later.
