I am so blessed to be part of this group. We are starting another year together, our 3rd but who's counting. May you each have a happy and healthy one. I look forward to more meetups, more FBing, more Skyping, more Waving, more crazy tales, more laughter, more hand holding, and more support than is humanly possible! XOX

wow! there's so many people here now! i'm feeling queasy but haven't actually been sick yet. I absolutely concur with the 4.45pm tiredness...i've been having a sneaky 10min nap at work in the toilets! No other symptoms other than really really sensitive nipples!! As for creams, I've got the unfragranced Palmer's cocoa butter with vitamin E. rubs in really easily, doesn't leave skin sticky and doesn't smell like i'm rubbing custard into my skin!
I was going to ask about MW too, i've got a scan booked for 10/1/08 but haven't heard from MW yet. I've been to see my GP so i guess i'll hear from them when i need to.
anyone here got experience with Whipps Cross hospital?
someone asked earlier about the Whittington, a friend had a baby there and they were fantastic as long as you don't end up on the ward with the grumpy sister!

TS jumped in and took over pretty quickly though!

poppysocks · 09/01/2010 21:49

Evening ladies. Was looking forward to an evening mouthing the words to Amadeus (know it all too well, having put it on at uni with two friends), having noticed it was on tonight. Trouble is I necked my glass of red too quickly and fell asleep. Only for 20 mins or so, but sort of lost my rhythm now.

Oh well, gives me time to chime in on the subjects of the day.... oops - Helena sounds perfect with Poppy and from what I know of you, perfect for you. Love Barney miamla - although less said about that the better . Still slightly haunted though by the knowledge that that was the name of George Bush's dog.... Still loving baby names, but still confused by DD2's name. God, I'm boring.

Sounds like we did pretty well with our supermarket trip this am - albeit at Morrisons. Really, really detest that place. It did however, yield a full trolley, including...salt!!! Suppose there are some compensations for being up at the crack of dawn....or before, actually.

So sorry you've been abandoned loti but at least you have great hair . Hope the pub is good sazzles. Have a v. fond memory of trudging back from a pub through a foot of snow with DH not long after we'd got together and we'd visited my Dad in Brussels for the first time and had gone out for a debrief in the pub.

dizzydixies · 09/01/2010 21:52

sorry sorry, DH phoned then I got engrossed reading a V long thread

evening Poppy

poppysocks · 09/01/2010 21:55

2007.... So long ago!

Must admit that I felt a bit queasy every few days with the DDs so know I was very lucky before you kill me all you pregnant again ladies. However, from extensive research/trial and error I conclude that the best way for me to get through a hangover is sparkling water accompanied by spaghetti hoops on toast. . Works for me. Say now more.

oopsandbabycoconut · 09/01/2010 21:55

Dizzy - have discoveed that you arrived on the 2nd Aug 08 thread and settled in and have yakked away like a loon since then

dizzydixies · 09/01/2010 21:58

and obviously I introduced myself with witty/charming and intelligent chat

dizzydixies · 09/01/2010 22:15

and now you've all buggered off again

could someone PLEASE come back and tell me that booking flights to Paris for us all is a really REALLY bad idea seeing as we're skint and DH is in court that week and we're SKINT

even though I can get us all there for under £200

including baggage

at a time when DD1 is off school

and we could use the airmiles for EuroDisney

anyone

NOBODY

for the sake of my marriage?!?!!?!?

poppysocks · 09/01/2010 22:27

As a regular on EDI-CDG that is a bloody good price.... Am I helping..,?

hotterpotter · 09/01/2010 22:29

Dizzy darling DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!

Come to Wakey instead

dizzydixies · 09/01/2010 22:30

not in the slightest and you're on thin ice because you're the closest - when DH chucks me out I'll be round to yours looking for a bed

its with easyjet but you're right, its a bloody good price

if I had enough airmiles to pay for the hotel I'd think sod it and convince DH however I think I'm short somewhat

hotterpotter · 10/01/2010 00:10

OI I SAID COME TO WAKEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We can do crusty bread, wine and cheese, and have a variety of slides/swings in the garden that could be mistaken for Eurodisney by a blind fool

TwilightSurfer · 10/01/2010 02:57

DIZZY!!! DON'T DO IT!!! I'm probably too late anyway.

Miamla sorry I was engrossed in a marathon tv session. Oops did a good job uncovering your post. You were really a trooper with T. I'm sure this time around won't be too bad. On the MS front, I became hooked on peppermint tea because of mine. I still swear by it's tummy soothing properties. And I recall a post or two back you commented on a bum problem...Witch Hazel Wipes and VASOLINE: Soak'um and Grease'um UP!!

Sazzles I hope you are having a wonderful time at the pub.

Oops you said something I wanted to comment on and now my computer won't scroll up so I can't refresh my memory. I'm sure it will come to me in a few days. LOL!

DH and DD1 are camping out (on the sofas) in the living room. DD1 thinks it's the coolest thing EVER.

Thrilling day here. At one point I spent an hour and a half chatting with my dad about my brother. Of course I'm still the one he thinks should be the BIGGER PERSON but then I explained some other details to the drama and he was shocked. Clearly proves he has alzhiemers as I've explained those same details before. Anyway, bottomline is I feel sad for my brother but tis his bed. Dad had to go...he was on his way to the Wal-Mart in Honolulu. [rolls eyes]

DH is snorning in the living room now. So is my cat at my feet here on the BIG BED that I have ALL TO MYSELF TONIGHT. I've already been up to replace Reese's lost pacey once so should be good for another 5 hours. Guess I'll call it a night.

Night.

morning all, another 5.30 wake up here DP not even pretending to be awake this morning!

oops thanks for finding that! i'm continually astounded at the searching abilities of others!

TS i really hope you're right. DS has discovered the delights of tents so is now continually hiding under blankets, scarves, tissues

possting this before it disappears (with DS's help)....

dizzydixies · 10/01/2010 07:38

morning all, early wake up here too and DH not home till after 4am. He's back in for 15:00 today too so I'd better leave him alone

Dylan now ignoring her breakfast and stomping about in her beloved wellies eating chocolate chips from the baking box whilst her breakfast remains ignored - I can't even be bothered with the fight to remove them

flights to Paris were not booked , no thanks you you lot!!!!

dizzydixies · 10/01/2010 07:50

well thats the chocolate chips now down the aforementioned wellies

wonder if she'll still manage to eat them

steaknife · 10/01/2010 08:10

Hello ladies.

Nice and early start here too - but it means I stand a chance of getting the boring chores done before too long and having the rest of the day to play. [grn]

Just checked mobile bill online £40 of course it is mostly phone and text to France over Christmas, but I've mostly stopped that now.
Cancelled AOL talk plan and cancelling their broadband at the end of the month to move to orange broadband. Crikey it can be wearing trying to find the best deal, I sometimes think that at some point you have to stop and stick with what you have and not worry that you might not have quite the best deal.

Trying to work out if it is worth switching utilities too. I remember a rather scathing, and very funny, thread about Npower on here, but they are looking cheaper - but by the time I switch it will probably be spring. Do you think that 4 months worth of bills - Sept to now, will be enough to get a decent estimate of annual consumption?

Crikey I'm dull today! That is the problem with early wake ups the things you would normally only be warming up to at 11ish pop into your head at 8ish instead.

Anyone got more snow - all clear here. Though DD has green porridge because she decided to do colouring at breakfast.
If it appeals to anyone I could probably rustle you up some pink, blue or red porridge.

steaknife · 10/01/2010 08:11

obv rather than [grn] do you think MN should have a [gurn]? A little face popped through an old horse collar m'be....

steaknife · 10/01/2010 08:14

Spoke too soon - it is actually snowing now. But that pearly snow rather than big fluffy flakes.

An indoors day for us today methinks.

dizzydixies · 10/01/2010 08:22

steaky - I know what you mean about not being arsed looking about for the best deals, it does get very tedius.

I try to take advice from moneyexpert website and am pretty sure there is one called uswitch I've used as well

steaknife · 10/01/2010 09:23

I had a look on confused.com - I used them years ago when they had just started, very good.
I tend to look at the comparison sites and then go straight to the supplier, airline, whatever and have found that I tend to get a better deal that way.

alittlebitshy · 10/01/2010 09:27

miamla and oops I went off tea both times. sad times But i drank a lot of camomile with dd and peppermint with ds for the hot drink replacement.

miamla . Dp needs to start doing some of the early starts/any random nighttime antics with ds as a) you need more rest now, b) you cannot have 2 poor sleepers to yourself - he NEEDS to take part!!!! Rant over .

I still have such horrid memories of MS. I truly think that is why i out on so much weight after ds was born, cos I was amazed at being able to eat ANYTHING without throwing up! Bleurgh. I went through so many different phases: i had a fishfinger sarnie phase, cheese on toast, jacket pots, pasta with grated cheese. Dh had to take over the cooking as i couldn;t look at food without needing to throw up. He is an, erm, adventurous cook, and often i couldn't even stomach what he had made .

miamla have you told either your mum or the ils? when do you plan to? ooh exciting!!!!! i must come and see you soon!!!!!

oopsandbabycoconut · 10/01/2010 10:19

Morning all

DH has just returned from a coffee run and somehow has been to Tesco too he has brought home the cutest little outfit for Hector ever! And amazingly he went for neutral rather than pink. It is so tiny - I can't possibly be having something so small! He made me cry! He also got up with DD at 7.30 (she got up at 5 crying ow boppem(bottom) ow so I gave her 2.5ml neurofen and she went back down until 6 came in and went back to sleep after her milk. They have played, done drawing and tidied and no telly which is most unusual!

Dizzy - I hope you manage alittle peace today. You do know that Euro disney is lovely and cheapish flights plus airmiles hotel is good but the place is bloody expensive when you get there food is stupidly priced and they guilt you into princess breakfasts and things at even stupider prices per child. When they have you in an enclosed space there is no option but to eat their crap overpriced food and you have to be strong with the girls and the 2 million shops with yet more overprced tat. You know you shouldn't really.

DD yelling back later!

RedLentil · 10/01/2010 10:49

Poor Poppy.

My ils don't to nappy changing, nose-wiping or responsibility for safety and then wonder why they get no unsupervised times with the dc

Steaky - if you ring aol to cancel they should give you at least one free month to try to keep you.

Got to go. dd2 grizzling

GladioliBuckets · 10/01/2010 12:22

Bloody hell it's afternoon already! Should start making some lunch but DH made us bacon butties at 10.30 so I'm all right Jack, will wait for kids to nag. DH has now earned his Attentiveness Points.

Wanna play fantasy holiday shopping a la Dizzy? (Hope that's still a fantasy Dizz, PF stare) Check out these adorable holiday appartments in Greece. Interconnecting rooms and bunkbeds, in a beachy village nearish airport. Maybe next year, post-pushchair, we will take the kids, esp as friend's parents live nearby. Can't afford the flights for them this year, what a shame. This friend who's wedding is there is marrying a millionaire and has just taken a '2yr career break' to work on wedding plans and new house - well, wouldn't you? And TTC no doubt. Her new house is this side of London so as soon as the weather improves me and Kurt will invite ourselves for lunch and see how the other half live.

dizzydixies · 10/01/2010 12:35

buckets - tis still a fantasy - unfortunately although related to 'how the other half live' none of it rubs off on us

back from gymnastics, DH still sleeping
