Nutts the difference is Robin isn't a twat and your ex is, he'd make sure we are ok. Personally, I'd like to have a quiet chat with your ex and I'd bring along some of the nicer boys I know to emphasise the points. Any time you feel like letting it happen babes!

Hello all

Okay so I'm very lucky in that I am happy to be a SAHM for the time being, and we can afford for me to do so.

However, both boys have suspected swine flu (not too badly)

Oh no that's Edmund again. More soon -

Elfytigga · 06/12/2009 18:58

mrsb! Hope it's not really H1N1!!!!!

mrsgboring · 06/12/2009 19:00

Yes, both boys have swine flu and DH is off to Brussels tomorrow for work. Am not looking forward to holding the fort for three days on my own. Teensy bit envious of DH's job today, but then if we both worked one of us would have to stay home with poorly boys and it would most likely be me.

But on the plus side, excitingly SIL has finally organised her wedding and it's just after Christmas It's a Muslim ceremony (her DH to be is Muslim, we're not) and I've just ordered this I'm hoping that a) it will fit and look rightish and b) I'll have the guts to wear it as I've never worn Asian dress before. What do you all think?

Nowwww what sling will go with it.....?

mrsgboring · 06/12/2009 19:01

Tigs X-post. We will never know for sure. We had Tamiflu in the house anyway, as DS1 was ill a couple of weeks ago with something that looked like H1N1. Symptom checker is useless anyway

Bugger there he goes again...

we3kingbeat23oforientare · 06/12/2009 21:58

Mrs G - have been to an asian wedding and for me wearing shalwa was nerve wracking but totally apt and fitting...you will look amazing and will look lovely...x

HeiligFeierabend · 07/12/2009 08:39

Good morning. MrsG, love the outfit.

AuldAlliance · 07/12/2009 08:40

Bleurgh.
DS1 threw up every half hour all night.

Waking Alex up in the process.
Most of the bedclothes in the house are in the wash/on the clotheshorse/in the dirty washing basket.

DS1 is now sleeping.
A is at the CM's.
I am missing a meeting and working at home but feel as if someone had opened my skull, removed my brain, scrubbed it with a wire brush and then put it back upside down.

Have a nice Monday!

AuldAlliance · 07/12/2009 08:41

Ooh, hello Heifei ,
Thanks for Leb feedback, not at all what I expected but v interesting indeed.

HeiligFeierabend · 07/12/2009 08:48

Oh noooo Auld that's all you need now! Poor you and DS1. Fingers crossed he's recovering and nobody else will catch it.

Elfytigga · 07/12/2009 09:06

Auld get well soon love!

You remember Sam use to be a good sleeperish? No longer Every 4 hours through the night since he had his cold - bloody germs.

How come we can send missions to Mars but can't find an effective treatment for colds etc for babies???????????

Morning all

Mrsg gorgeous dress. I want one just to wear round the house . Hope the pigflu is on its way out and your DH realises how lucky he is in Brussels .

AA you have had a truly dreadful night. Can't believe you now have to work from home! I'm not sure how you do it really. I'd be unable to get a shred done for the distractions. Although it doesn't look like you have much of a choice. Coffee and chocolate sound like the only solution.

Tigga - I'm with you on that. You just get one cause of a bad sleeper sorted and then another comes along . It's so tricky when you're obliged to breathe only through your nose and it's blocked with slugs..

Morning Feiera!

Babywarrior is down for his nap and squawking loudly in protest. I am ignoring him . Dad and Great auntie taking me out for lunch today - yay! And no work til Friday night - double yay!

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 07/12/2009 11:18

Morning! Will catch up in a bit, but in the meantime at at this thread - anyone else had a look?

GuimauveRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 07/12/2009 12:21

Hello Lovelies! Am back from weekend at The Olds' and my brother's wedding. Will try to catch up later but am having a 'You spend too much time on the computer/ You spend too much time on your iPhone' argument with DH, so will have to sneak on later. Just wanted to say hello!

HeiligFeierabend · 07/12/2009 13:39

ooooh nice thread WFH have joined the 'discussion'...

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 07/12/2009 13:59

I saw! Can't believe how many people have risen to her nonsense and started spouting their qualifications. She doesn't deserve it, she's an unpleasant piece of work, always assuming she's real.

So Orbit is asleep, and I have been receiving parcels all morning, so am finally feeling festive! Hang on a minute......

GoodKingWhatFreshHellLookedOut · 07/12/2009 14:00

Like it?

GoodKingWhatFreshHellLookedOut · 07/12/2009 14:10

mrsgboring hope the boys are feeling a bit better? Orbit and DS1 were better very quickly, but when I got it I was laid up for nearly a week. Hope you're ok too.

On the equality thing, I'm lucky enough to earn a decent wage, but have the different problem of it being very difficult to work part time. My kind of job is almost never advertised part time, and as I was made redundant when DS1 was born, I have never had an employer to go back to where I've built up enough goodwill for them to consider part time.

I'm really hoping my current employer lets me work part time in the spring, as otherwise poor old Orbit is going to nursery full time and I don't feel happy about that. No judgment on those who do, it's just not right for our family and for Orbit, I don't think.

I'm also lucky enough that DP is not against the idea of him working part time instead (I earn more than him, just) and he would love more time with the boys, but because he runs his own business it just isn't feasible. So equality? Well, in theory we have it in this relationship, in practice it's a load of old bollocks. Oh well.

Auld your night sounds rubbish. Hope you're lying down with a nice cup of tea and a lebkuche right now.

Orbit seems to be improving on the sleep front although still waking up more than I'd like - no idea what's causing it now, can't see any teeth coming through for a change, but something is still troubling him. He woke up every hour on Saturday until I gave him ibuprofen, then slept for a good stretch, so it's definitely a pain of some sort.

Hello Gui! Saw this today and thought of you

HeiligFeierabend · 07/12/2009 14:36

Why oh why is it so grey outside... H and I are bored stuck in the house

AuldAlliance · 07/12/2009 14:44

Hello, WFH and mrsg and gui.

I am not lying down, sadly, I am trying to rack my bruised brains for a proposal for a paper to give at a conference in May. Failing, though.

I am too lazy tired to change name.
Is that OK?

GoodKingWhatFreshHellLookedOut · 07/12/2009 15:09

As long as you change it to AuldLangSyneAlliance at the New Year

Must go and make pesto.

HeiligFeierabend · 07/12/2009 16:10

Oh no I think H has an egg allergy.

ZuluWassailer · 07/12/2009 16:16

What makes you think that Feiera?

Dad and Aunt have just left. I am full of chocolate cake. Mmmmmmmm. BabyWarrior is overtired and grumpy.

HeiligFeierabend · 07/12/2009 16:24

I tried her on some pancake on Sunday - fine. Then read somewhere that some babies are only allergic to raw egg, so dabbed some on her back just to make double sure. And she came out in a blotchy red rash and hives Now I am not sure whether she's allowed the flu jab or not, and also am wondering if this means no scrambled egg etc. too? Will post a thread in the allergy topic right now.

Elfytigga · 07/12/2009 19:35

Fei Sam came over all red where mayo touched him so I think you are in good company.
