Just a quickie to with everyone a very merry Christmas.

Got to wrap all the presents, and still haven't finished making S's stocking. But kids are asleep, the wine bottle is open and the fire is roaring.

Hope everyone has a lovely day tomorrow

Merry Christmas everyone. SS thanks for the cool present, I can have my girls with me all the time now!

Got to Germany okay, it took us 12 1/2 hours all in all but the girls were ever so good and we overtook a few broken down Eurostars

Just waiting for my dad to open the champagne now.

Hello

I hope everyone had a fab time yesterday?
We had a wondeful day and I felt very tipsy blessed when we went to bed.

Holly seemed to thoroughly enjoy her first Christmas and typically was happiest playing with cardboard boxes and wrapping paper.

Ellen was in her element with paints, stickers, modelling clay.

Andrew, a slave to the caffeine, was over the moon with his espresso maker.

Bugger, better go, my sister is coming round shortly.

Hellllllllloooo girls thank you to my (sort of) secret santa - I LOVED my pressies, gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous

Fei - so glad you got there ok... very exciting about H carpet-crawling... O slept through (apart from needing a hand on tummy and shhhhing at 4am) last night until 7.45am! That must be a belated Christmas pressie for me

Puzzle - sounds like you and yours had a fab time...

We had a fantastic Christmas Eve with FIL and step-MIL, marred only slightly by the bitch from hell MIL texting at 11pm to say she wasn't coming from Christmas lunch because FIL (they are divorced) was staying Christmas Eve night. WTF??!! Haven't heard from her since and DH says she's crossed a line now and he doesn't want her in O's life until she can stop being so negative. Eeeek.

But apart from family feuds a good Christmas was had by all - we saw my entire family yesterday which was mayhem - O loved being mauled by all his cousins

Right... must go make mince pies - we've got friends coming rounds for mulled wine and mince pies after lunch... hurrah!

BErriesBEllsandMOOnlight · 27/12/2009 17:39

Hope everyone had an a lovely Christmas.

SS- mmmmmmBLUE! lovely jubbly blue! Thank you so very much. It's all also gone down a treat with dh too

HeiligFeierabend · 27/12/2009 20:17

Helloooo? You all too busy playing with your pressies?

SantasNutts · 27/12/2009 21:26

well christmas for the girls ..... well for phoenix was fab (tiahna slept most of the day it was just too much lol phoenix was the same) she was manic all christmas eve and i had to wake her up christmas morning !!!! lol she ran down the stairs and saw the tree literally spewing presents :D and was knelt next to it stroking the wrapping and reading the tags going "ooh this ones for me this ones for me too.........wow santa left me alot of presents " :D

chris arrived at 8 after i called him at 7 to say i was waking p up, and stayed till about 2.30 which was the longest we've been in the same room since we split!!! then when he left he asked if he could have a hug!!! if it hadnt been in front of phoenix i would have said no, but god it was wierd, i was just gonna hug n go but he pulled me in for a big bear hug adn i backed of and he squeezed me again and gave me a kiss on the cheek thanked me for a lovely day and for the food then left. it left me feeling really uncomfortable, it was really strange during the day cos it was like slipping back into the way we were at times just cos we know each other so well i guess. there really isnt any room for him in my life now though he just makes me feel very ... i dont know ....wary/off kilter/ uncomfortable.... i was really looking forward to him going come the end.

oh and he cant afford the court fees of £300 at the mo so the divorce is postponed! i just want it done now, i want to be free now.

but at the end of the day phoenix loved having him here and she had a really fantastic day so its all that matters next christmas should be interesting ........

tiahna slept so much christmas day that she stayed up alllllllll christmas day night so i was and am still compleatly hanging, went to mils boxing day, which was ok, and had another busy but lovely lovely day today.

annnndddd I CANT WAIT FOR NEW YEAR!!! seriously this year is going to be immense! i have so many plans!!! i'm so excited!!

and more than anything i think this year is going to be very satisfying in more ways than one
i think i have turned a corner now, i'm in a far better place than i was a few months ago i feel rejuvenated and really goddam happy

glad you all had fab crimbles! and that everyone got their ss gifts and liked them xxxxxx big love xxxxxxx

Quintessential Nutty post, that!

HeiligFeierabend · 28/12/2009 08:47

Nutty, lovely to see you so happy xxx

mrsgboring · 28/12/2009 09:55

So glad you had a good time Nutts. Well done on Bicnod's DH protecting you from the MIL.

We had a great Christmas here - everything kind of worked. DS1 was ill and consequently had moments of behaving appallingly but we all survived, and the freezer is groaning with turkey and stock and leftover cherry ice cream to enliven January mealtimes. Oddly, I've had some moments of being sad about my DD which I've never experienced at Christmas before - think 2009 has just been a huge year for us.

Wedding today so we're off in half an hour - I still fit in my shalwar suit

we3kingbeat23oforientare · 28/12/2009 14:06

glad everyone had a nice xmas.

We gad a fab time at SILs. Lots of children and noise, food and laughing. No arguments or tears. Lots of non sleeping from DD. Didnt care as was awake til late anyhow.

Got drunk a few times and hungover once!

DD loved pressies and when we got home last night, we had our own to open too.

Back home now - washing, cleaning, cooking, relaxing. heaven

HarkTheHerAuldAngelsSing · 28/12/2009 16:39

Merry belated Christmas!

Glad everyone had a good time. All my family came to stay, from Scotland and Slovakia, and it was very busy, very boozy for all but me, a bit manic and not entirely devoid of tension.
Everyone has now left and we are off to the dreaded MIL's tomorrow and then to nice FIL's for Hogmanay in Toulouse.

I will not even mention how horrific nights have become. Does teething affect them particularly at night? Or maybe A has just been possessed by Satan...

My SS was brilliant, someone is very clever and did brilliant homework! I utterly love it all (and am rationing the goodies). A big round of applause to Nutty for organising it.

Sorry that the parcels for my SS partner and Nutty's were so obvious, I had to write my name on them due to officious French PO regulations.

Must get another load of sheets out of the wash....

kazkissingunderthemiseltoe · 28/12/2009 18:09

May I say that I had a lovely xmas! ( am i the only one who is a little sad that there babies first christmas is now over...)

I again want to retiterate that i LOVED my secret santa pressie!! (I have used one of my bath bombs and my hand cream and shea butter have now taken up there permenant residance in my handbag)

We should do SS every year ( I am not usually that enamoured with ss but loved it this time)

I need to have a major clear up of the house it is looking like toys r us in here now!

gingersarah · 28/12/2009 23:20

Happy Christmas everyone! (well, we are still within the 12 days)

THANK YOU THANKYOU THANK YOU for my Secret Santa present - and for tucking in a bath toy for Veronica as well! Lovely thoughtful gifts from our mystery St Nick. And THANK YOU to Nutty for organising.

Veronica has been a delight over Christmas and in general really, sleeping well mostly in other people's houses, eating all around her and showing off her new tricks of high fiving people who say "high five!" and clapping when you say "clap hands". She loves all her new toys and is great fun.

So... just as I am working out how to look after her (or she after me!) I have to go back to work soon

ZuluWassailer · 29/12/2009 07:38

Ginger, it's so hard going back to work but you might just find (to your amazement) that you actually enjoy it a tiny, tiny bit... And I was amazed that the sky didn't fall down on little A when I wasn't there to hold it up . I think (or maybe we just say this to make ourselves feel better) that it's good for them too to not be attached to their mothers all the time. Are you going back full or part-time?

Hope you're all still feeling festive. I had to force myself to have an alcohol-free day on Sunday to prevent my death from liver failure

Aleesmum · 29/12/2009 11:36

Hello everyone and belated merry Christmas.

Im new here, my DS was born on March 29. BErriesBEllsandMOOnlight invited me here (Hi to u!)

I just had some questions if thats ok.

I BLW my son and I go back to work in March 2010. I would like to go back part time but my boss is giving me a bit of a hard time abt tht so i might have to go back full time.

What I would like to know is if my son will be ok to go a whole day without feeding by 11 months? I thought he would be ok, but he is 9 months now and needs atleaast 2 to 3 feeds during the day so I am a bit worried.

I know I can express but if i dont have to I would much rather not. The thing is I dont want to wean him just coz I am going back to work. I was hoping that he would be able to adjust his feeds by then to work around my day but now I am not so sure.

I guess I am just panicking about having to leave him the whole day(!!) and it would be nice to hear what u think and if u have done it yourselves.

Thanks
