BErriesBEllsandMOOnlight · 21/12/2009 18:32

but they are good they're cousin to chocolate chip cookies and oatmeal cookies... close relative to ranger cookies

SantasNutts · 21/12/2009 18:32

recipie...

one egg carton suitably soiled
one banana skin
squeeze the remaining juice from 2 old teabags
some gone off milk
old newspaper
food colouring

mash all of the ingredients together then cut with scissors into desired cookie shape

do not cook due to bad smell and potential fire hazard

dust with icing sugar

enjoy!

GuimauveRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 21/12/2009 20:34

Mmmmm, kind of like rocky road cookies, cookies full of whatever gubbins you have hanging around. Nice!

SnowyBoff · 21/12/2009 22:24

Hello folks. Lost my way with the thread a bit, but just wanted to announce that today, very cautiously, with my thighs pressed firmly together, I WENT ON A TOBOGGAN. Twice. And no, Nutty, that isn't a euphamism.

SnowyBoff · 21/12/2009 22:25

I have sent my secret santa gift.

SnowyBoff · 21/12/2009 22:26

I have got mine as well.

GuimauveRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 22/12/2009 07:14

Hurrah for tobogganing!

(Fantastic word. Toboggan toboggan toboggan. I shall name my 2nd-born Toboggan. Or Spinnaker.)

HeiligFeierabend · 22/12/2009 08:51

FFS. Hazel has got croup AGAIN. We spent 4 hours in A&E last night just to get her those bloody steroids. I had no sleep at all. I have to pack all our stuff today for Germany, and we're driving out tomorrow and I really don't know how we're going to do it. I just hope she'll be better tonight, otherwise we might have to cancel the trip altogether.

DH is behaving like it's all my fault .

BAUBLEnod · 22/12/2009 09:58

FUCKING FUCKING FUCKING FUCK SAINSBURY'S HAVE CANCELLED MY CHRISTMAS DELIVERY

SantasNutts · 22/12/2009 10:12

oh no fei & bauble ((hugs))

fei - how exactly can croup be your fault??? stupid man ((hugs))

OP posts:
BAUBLEnod · 22/12/2009 10:15

sorry fei - didn't read anything before posting...

you poor thing

gingersarah · 22/12/2009 10:26

Oh no, Fei- what a nightmare. How is everyone today?
Put husband on packing duty!

Bicnod - ARGH. How can they DO that? Is it not ILLEGAL?

Well, serves me right for posting on here that I was staying close to home yesterday - except for a rehearsal in the City. Left for home at 9pm and got here after midnight, having walked a large part of the way. Felt like Shackleton. No trains, no buses, taxis refusing to go my way because roads all siezed up... now the dilemma is: what do I do tonight? The concert is at 5.30 in Piccadilly and I was already going to be late home to put V to bed... I can't risk being 3 hours late again as she will be needing to be fed. hmmmmmm

ZuluWassailer · 22/12/2009 10:28

Aaargh. Feier, you poor thing. Will there be any opportunity for snoozing in the car tomorrow? And your DH is being entirely unreasonable. What you need is support, not petty blame apportioning. As if you could or would cause H to get croup again.

Bicnod, how can they just cancel your order? Surely they have to provide some kind of other arrangement. If not I have one word for you: takeaway. I usually work Christmas and am always staggered by the number of takeaways that are open.

Bebe, how are you this morning?

I have just iced the cake and covered the kitchen in icing sugar . My baby is a day or two away from crawling. He is full of glee and mischief. I cannot believe he is so grown up .

ZuluWassailer · 22/12/2009 10:30

Sorry ginger - x-posts. I've probably missed it but what's the concert? Sounds like you're in it! Can you express and leave an emergency bottle for V? Or formula?

mrsgboring · 22/12/2009 11:02

Oh Fei how awful and how unhelpful of your DH. How are you getting across the channel and how far into Germany have you got to go? Weather is all set to improve by tomorrow so that would be one thing off your mind.

Bicnod oh no!!! Do they blame the snow? What are you going to do, go down to the store and shop with a huge placard up saying "They cancelled my online order." You could tell the store manager it's a race to see who finds you in the store first, a journo or a couple of flunkeys to help with shopping and bring propitiatory bottles of bubbly.

I am in waiting for my Xmas food order (scared it won't come now) from Abel and Cole then it's out to collect the turkey and veg from our local farm (yes really even though only 1.8 miles from town centre ). I am brining the turkey, owing to having to provide a low fat Christmas - never done anything like this before so putting my trust in Nigella.

Zulu my kitchen is covered with icing sugar too - should be clearing it up instead of posting on here. DS1 and I made peppermint creams and rose creams but he lost interest when he discovered hundreds and thousands wouldn't stick on the top.

Even though DS1 and I have the plague, E is cutting two teeth my house is about to be condemned and I'm coming apart at the seams in an attempt to prepare Christmas and Boxing Day food to satisfy the requirements of all visitors - i.e. low fat, vegetarian and halal, I am because last night I went carol singing in the snow. First time I have been out without a rucksack and a baby since E was born.

SantasNutts · 22/12/2009 11:32

ok what do i do????, i was just stroking behind tiahnas ears (as you do) and she seems to have a lump behind one of them the other one is flat and this lump is quite prominent to the touch but not to see.

doctors? or do you think it will just go away?

Good gosh girls! What a morning for most! lots of hugs and strength to get through it.
We're struggling here too but on very trivial things, burning cookies, screaming kid, cheerios and orange peel all over the floor, muffins that have not come out of their pans nicely, a husband who keeps whining at me over MSN that he's lonely and wants us to come visit him tonight in his hotel, laundry up to my eyeballs, bloody bmw drivers people keep knocking on my door because they've got stuck at the bottom of the hill and cannot get back up and want to know if I've got any sand or salt, presents with bit marks in the wrapping paper, a cat that keeps getting under foot, a headache, little sleep, and period pain to match all period pain ever had...
It's a really great day.

BErriesBEllsandMOOnlight · 22/12/2009 12:22

Hopefully it's nothing Nutts

Fiera hit him over the head with one of his presents and have as much of a duvet as you can with the girls.

Bicnod seems very strange. Will you have enough to get you through? I need to try to get to the store, but not looking forward to the walk...hopefully they still have stuff tomorrow, by then the ice should have melted I think.

I love Sledding! I've not done it since last year when I was 5m preggy back home, only went down once because it was WAY too hard to get back up the hill again. Hopefully I'll manage at least once today.

Do you all send X-mas cards out to peple you're going to see, or do you just hand them over when you see them?

BabyBolat · 22/12/2009 12:49

Oooh Nutts, hope it's ok. let me know.

I have posted my SS gift special delivery and everything but it came back as the little minx wsan't in to collect it and the sorting office only kept it for 10 days so it's back. I took it to the PO to send today and to pick up a parcel with all the presents for my parents, sisters and grandad from Kara (lovely engraved photo frames etc) and they can't find the f-ing parcel. After AN HOUR of waiting around I was so grumpy I forgot to post it so I will try again tomorrow.

grrr.

BAUBLEnod · 22/12/2009 13:08

Oh Nutts - you poor thing let us know what the docs say. Fingers crossed it is just that her glands are up or something x x x

Fei - any news on H? How's the packing coming along?

I foolishly did a vent thread about my shopping in chat and have been slated merrily by one and all - apparently I sound like margot from the good life complaining her harrods order didn't turn up feeling much better now - it's just so frustrating and DH will have to go tonight after work and i'll walk into town tomorrow to get any bits he can't get. it'll be fine - in the grand scheme of things it really doesn't matter but it just makes me that they cancel on such short notice for a crap reason (beautiful sunshine here, no ice or snow).

BabyBolat · 22/12/2009 13:17

Oh Fei, sorry missed your post, hope H is ok? Are you ok?
