Nutty DP used to get inflamed cysts behind his ears when he was younger, they're completely benign and he grew out of them, so it could just be something totally harmless. Crossing fingers for you.

Also thank you for lovely christmas card!

More in a bit, it's lunchtime

BErriesBEllsandMOOnlight · 22/12/2009 14:40

So I'm wondering what you would do in my position...

Moo (did you think I was going to ask abt DH again? He's a lost cause currently so I'm trying not to think about him) will only eat sparingly with BLW. She eats better when I spoon feed her foods I've made. BUT she will eat an entire 200g jar of Heinz baby food at lunch and again at supper if you spoon feed her that.... The more she eats obviously the less bf milk she gets and the less likely she is to wake in the night...
Do I buy Heinz?
Do I continue to mix feed?
Persevere with the BLW?
How do you get them to feed themselves with a spoon? Is it too early to start this?

BErriesBEllsandMOOnlight · 22/12/2009 15:27

BB that sounds like something that would happen at my house...but I've not had a ticket through the door saying I've missed a package so hopefully it wasn't me...

WrigglyFairyOnTopOfTheTree · 22/12/2009 16:30

Hello

Fei - sorry to hear about the Croup again. You poor thing. Best of luck with the drive over.

Bebe - I might be tempted to use a jar of Heinz for his evening meal and make the others yourself.

Bicnod - my first thought was Margo too. Also felt slightly less grumpy that I have to do my big supermarket shop tomorrow morning (mostly cos too disorganised to arrange my delivery slot in time).

Boff - v. jealous of your tobogganning . The sprinkling of snow round here is very pretty but not thick enough to do anything with.

Nutty - how did the docs go? Lump ok? My ex used to get wierd lumps that came and went behind his ears. They were completely harmless.

I have just been to the docs myself. My children keep getting ill. DD suddenly has a temperature of 38.5 and is sitting in a darkened room with tears silently pouring down her face waiting for Calpol to take effect. Doc thinks she is just taking a very long time to fully recover from gastroentiritis. And S has been given antibiotics for conjunctivitis.

Brilliant.

WrigglyFairyOnTopOfTheTree · 22/12/2009 16:32

Oh and Nutty - I haven't had my SS yet but I also confess I posted mine very late.

And BB has just made me realise I am an idiot as I didn't put a return address on the package. (Didn't want to compromise the anonymity of SS see - duh!)

kazkissingunderthemiseltoe · 22/12/2009 16:39

My gosh you are all going through it today. I just keep trying to tell myself christmas is just one day!!! the end of the world will not happen if i dont finish the washing in time!!

I have received my SS pressie and a lovely card from nutts (thanks to you both!!!) Cant wait to open it now. Must wait., must wait, must wait 3 more sleeps!!!

BErriesBEllsandMOOnlight · 22/12/2009 16:46

Wriggly and everyone else with sick lo's Poor poor them and you. It makes the travelling and family visiting so much less fun.

I was certain Moo was going to get sick and then we'd not be able to see my SIL's new baby (a girl, Zoe 9lbs...guess who gets all of Moo's handme downs I cleared out the 'too smalls' yesterday and have 3!! big black bags. How did we acquire so much? ) But the cough she had has not materialised into anything yet, touch wood.

waiting for news Nutty....

Feiera hope everything's going all right by you guys too....

HeiligFeierabend · 22/12/2009 17:22

Hi all, sorry been quiet, I've had Hazel attached to me ALL day, she won't be put down, won't eat, just wants the boob. Makes packing tricky. Just hoping for a reasonable night and that DD1 won't get ill too. Have also sent DH out for dummies as I feel I can't be a human dummy any longer now

Wriggly sorry to hear about your poorly children - hope the Calpol kicks in quickly. Seems a long time to recover from a virus though?

I won't be on tomorrow as hopefully we'll be on our way to Germany. All the best to all of you, stay healthy or recover quickly, and I hope you can all enjoy Christmas. xxx

BAUBLEnod · 22/12/2009 17:44

My child is a loon. He's currently sitting on his playmat rocking from side to side, grinning widely, dribbling and squealing in a high pitched voice (I think he's trying to sing along with the radio).

Bebe - I'd do what Wriggly says, a Heinz jar in the evening. It's probably just a phase - O went through a phase of only eating jar food and now he's back on the homemade stuff (dammit - it means I have to actually make it!). I give him finger food and spoon food at every meal (and spoon food quite often becomes finger food).

Fei - sending huge hugs, really hope the trip isn't as bad as you think. Have a fab time when you get there x x x

Wriggly - poor you hope the wrigglybabes feel better soon

Nutty - any news???

WrigglyFairyOnTopOfTheTree · 22/12/2009 17:52

'spoon food quite often becomes finger food'. lol.

Same chez Wriggly. Who needs carrots to dip in hummous when fingers do the job so much better?

SantasNutts · 22/12/2009 18:41

ok so doc said that its prob just a lymph node or a cyst coming up due to a mild strain of some sort of virus and that if it gets bigger or weeps/gets puss like then i'm to take her back straight away but if not not to worry but if its still there in a week then take her back. so no we wait and see but the doc didnt seem too worried so i'm not gonna be phew!

phew - so glad doc was reassuring nutty - will keep fingers crossed that it disappears of its own accord.

have dispatched DH to Tesco (NOT Sainsbury's hehe ). I offered to go but he is an angel and said he would rather brave the crowds than have me do it... lovely lovely boy.

all i need now is the glass of wine that should have been delivered earlier

BErriesBEllsandMOOnlight · 22/12/2009 20:35

what kinds of jars do you buy?

BAUBLEnod · 22/12/2009 20:48

I buy Hipp organic stage 2 jars (for 7 months +) or Boots organic jars or those Organix twin pots if they are on special offer. I don't buy plum jars anymore because I think they are too expensive smoooooooth.

I'm soooooooooooo cold, but don't want to turn the heating on as O is so bundled up against the cold he'd probably fry

ZuluWassailer · 22/12/2009 20:55

I'm with you on the heating Bicnod. BW is wearing: a vest, pyjamas, fleecy sleep suit and 2.5 tog sleeping bag with arms and I still might put a blanket on him later. -6 tonight!

SantasNutts · 22/12/2009 20:58

Bebe - same as bicnod, hipp organic (9 for £5 in asda!!)

Bicnod go for it my heating has been on all day!! bless your lovely dh!!!
