Fei, I feel my German needs a refresher course. All these years in France, I have lost so much vital vocab.

Go on, just a few extracts!!

Bebe, he is being rubbish. Sounds as if things have really overwhelmed him, or rather as if he has allowed things to overwhelm him.
Maybe you could suggest that the two of you plan a special Valentine's day (I know it's ages away, but he must be able to get his act together by then), with extra-nice gifts, special meal, etc., to make up for his shitty attempt at Christmas? Not much immediate help, though, I know.

I agree that you shd return one of his gifts and buy yourself sth with the money. Tell him you are doing it. And make him eat nothing but plain boiled rice for a week.

BErriesBEllsandMOOnlight · 21/12/2009 14:46

lol Auld plain boiled rice... can it be uncle ben's quick rice? I hate making rice.

kazkissingunderthemiseltoe · 21/12/2009 14:50

Hello all., sorry to hear of all the dramas.

BeeBee I agree with consensous i think DH should only be given a weekly allowance to live on!!! until he proves he can behave better!

On a side note am I the only one who has not recieved there SS pressie yet . oooh stupid post round this area!!

HarkTheHerAuldAngelsSing · 21/12/2009 14:55

Uncle Ben's?
That there is expensive stuff, lady. Supermarket basic brand cheapo boil in the bag, I reckon.
And check for weevils (check that there are lots, I mean).

(How can you hate cooking rice, though? Am genuinely curious. Bechamel sauce or risotto or something like that I could understand, but rice?)

GuimauveRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 21/12/2009 15:10

Ooooh, hark at you dropping hints! Don't worry, I haven't got mine either. I could send you some chocolate coins, but I only have your old address. So you ain't got no card neither.

Bebe, make the man cook his own rice. And make it brown (gourmet equivalent of 3 Hail Marys).

GuimauveRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 21/12/2009 15:17

Well, it is thoroughly gloomy here, so I've shut the curtains, turned all the lights on, popped the heating on early, and said goodbye to the shortest day.

I shall have some fudge to celebrate these actions. I was saving the last two pieces piece for DH, but if I make some more and let him take the whole batch to work, then I am justified in finishing off this one, no?

BErriesBEllsandMOOnlight · 21/12/2009 15:20

I hate the way rice smells. And I don't like that sticky film that gets left in the pot afterwards either.

I don't think I've had my ss gift either. But I'm not worried as I've got muffins made now too so the house smells lovely and nice.

Blueberry or Oatmeal Cinnamon muffin anyone?

kazkissingunderthemiseltoe · 21/12/2009 15:42

hahah. lol. well it is one of the only ones i have actually got to open this year so looking forward to it! haha. although..... one of my presents came yesterday and it is a festive set of yankee candles so the house smells delicious!!! I have just iced my christmas cake after chucking on nearly half a bottle of brandy on it....

I feel VERY christmassy now.....(although it feels like a sunday)

ooooh and i am going to eat some ferrero rocher!

HeiligFeierabend · 21/12/2009 15:43

Gloomy is not the word... out there it's like the end of the world is neigh, I tell you.

SantasNutts · 21/12/2009 15:51
