Hmm might be a bit early for a festive thread title but thought we could get in the mood.

None of that tasteful two colour decoration scheme in my tent - oh no. The gawdier the better.

sazzles I don't think you're wrong about missing Seb making a difference. It's really bothering him.
His boss is a real Wanker though

Queenie it's so rubbish, your poor overworked DP I hope he can get it sorted out.

Grrr we have too many photos. I can't choose And do I make different calendars to show I care, or all the same because I am lazy?

dizzydixies · 21/11/2009 21:27

Hots - I did the calendars for everyone one year, all different and put in birthdays/anniversarys etc - took me fecking ages

am now (having seen your half price post) considering going to do them now however I shall not be fannying about doing them all to suit individual needs again!

hotterpotter · 21/11/2009 21:34

Dizz this will be the 4th year I have made them for 3x grandparents plus maybe my sister/doting auntie as they always go down well and aren't hideously expensive, as long as you can get them done when they're on offer! I missed the offer last year and ended up doing Vistaprint ones which were OK but nowhere near as good as the Truprint ones, plus I blame them for totally spamming my email address

Am slightly that TS has sorted her secret santa. I know what I want to get but it is over budget...

dizzydixies · 21/11/2009 21:36

hots - am just whinging about downloading the photos is snapfish the best place then?

hotterpotter · 21/11/2009 21:45

Or Truprint, they are basically the same thing. I have always had good results from them Plus it looks like if you sign up via Topcashback you could get a bit of, well, cash back

Arf

Half way through the photos, my how our babies have grown. Am amazed and a little at the percentage of photos of DS which are basically him covered in food

dizzydixies · 21/11/2009 22:10

god I can't be arsed with this at all

dizzydixies · 21/11/2009 22:14

what about the collage calendars? they look like a nice cheap option but I can't pick the size - don't want too big but also don't want a postage stamp

TwilightSurfer · 21/11/2009 22:17

HP & Miamla don't be of my secret santa pressie as neither of you know if by chance it is YOUR pressie. I will say it is quite simple but great all the same. I was trying to keep in mind the whole customs thing. I didn't want to select something hard to identify or questionable to export/import. I do recall the trouble MrSazzles had with a very delicious gift brought over personally. The man now has a record here in the States. LOL! Anyone receiving a gift from me should know I'm very practical and therefor shop for practical-a-la-cool gifts.

DH and I are the kitchen cooking. Reese is yelling at me for more food. And I have no clue where DD1 has run off too.

That said I've lost my train of thought and will return later once I've found it.

hotterpotter · 21/11/2009 22:19

If I was doing a collage I'd pick the 18 x 12 as it is only £5.99 not too big

hotterpotter · 21/11/2009 22:21

TS more of your organisational skills than the gift itself, although I have no doubt it will be spiffing Trying to be organised here but the wine is starting to take over

dizzydixies · 21/11/2009 22:21

thats what I've just clicked on - will do for the aunties, the grandparents can get an actual calendar!!!

dizzydixies · 21/11/2009 23:13

right, mucho boring calendars done - boring as in having to do them, not boring as in gifts hopefully

night all

hotterpotter · 21/11/2009 23:14

Well I have chosen about 100 photos and they are uploading to the Truprint site in anticipation of calendar building tomorrow. While I have been doing that I have also drunk far too much wine so now I am off to bed.

Night-night to anyone still up

TwilightSurfer · 22/11/2009 00:44

well done on ds walking pb!!!

glad the party went well sazz..

manic day yesterday it was as if both girls had a permanent sugar rush yesterday although no sugar consumed ...

dd1 woke me up again at 5 this morning, duly deposited her back to bed.. why won't my 4 year old sleep??? dd2 slept through again tho so that must be a record...

weather suspose to be horrible today.. thinking of going xmas shopping but as dd2 likes getting out of the chair in the trolley it may prove interesting!!!!

PoinsettiaBouquets · 22/11/2009 07:44

Roll up roll up ladies, bargainous signed copies of the very funny and very charming Scuba Dancing by Nicola Slade on sale right here! Just £5 including p&p (better make that £6 outside UK & Eire or we'll be stuffed.) Perfect pickmeup for any lady feeling sorry for herself, perfect gift for any lady who fancies a bit of chicklit with a more grown up feisty heroine (none of your idiot Shopaholic/Bridget Jones types here). Plus a little twinkle of the slightly supernaural... FB me if interested and I'll get them this week.
NB If you were interested in the Victorian murders, best place to buy the first one is here and you can preorder the sequel there too (out New Years Eve)

PoinsettiaBouquets · 22/11/2009 07:45

Shall we set a deadline for Secret Santa then? 1st December to make sure the Royal Mail works?

miamla · 22/11/2009 09:57

morning loti and pb!

the rest of you'd better not all be having lie ins!

steaknife · 22/11/2009 10:07

lie in! pfft.

Up since 6.15 here. I think there's some eggy bread left in the pan if you are peckish/

I've already cut up an old top and made a pattern from it, just need to cut it out and sew it up.

DD has demolished a pop up library book

So at least one of us is being productive.

Thank you!
