August 2008 - I wish it could be Christmas every day, with the TV rows and the ILs you'd like to slay-ay-ay.

Hmm might be a bit early for a festive thread title but thought we could get in the mood.

None of that tasteful two colour decoration scheme in my tent - oh no. The gawdier the better.

Have had to let DD have a nap this afternoon, she has been in a really foul mood and DS slept for 2 hours at lunchtime when he normally only has 1 hour - I think they are going to take some getting to sleep tonight...

Have also cut DS' fringe for the first time I didn't want to but it was getting in his eyes and sticking to his snotty nose so it had to be done. I have made him look a bit more gormless but at least he can see again

Steaky I forgot to say before, your Christmas tree looks lovely, you are a very clever girl

ALBS 245 cards no wonder you are [meep]ing. We I usually send about 30 I think, but then we are hideously unsociable

TwilightSurfer · 21/11/2009 19:44

YAY Sazzles!

YAY Kurt!

Shopped and Shopped and Shopped and Shopped
I'm tired!

ALBS bloody hell do you start writing them in May?!?! we have loads too but this year I've told DH there is no need to send a card to every fecker he's every worked with

being a snipey/niggly day again today and it started with such great promise too fecking scottish weather

I did some ironing, DH and girls headed into garden - it rained so back in. played the wii, did some baking, did some colouring played at horses etc etc etc but I think we're all needing out properly to blow off the cobwebs - maybe tomorrow after gymnastics

strictly on here too - am pathetically excited by the line up for next week

glad the party went well - did she get some lovely presents?

cyteen · 21/11/2009 20:10

Strictly and wine all the way here too. Am still in frock shock at Erin's fringed monstrosity

dizzy maybe tomorrow you should all go out with the purpose of getting as wet and muddy as possible - jumping in puddles, rolling around with the dog etc. - then back home for a massive shared splashy bubble bath I've always thought that sounded rather nice. Nothing like getting warm and clean after getting wet and dirty (no sniggering at the back).

dizzydixies · 21/11/2009 20:13

check out how well Dame Shirley's looking - god loves a bit of rouching!!!!!!

Cyteen - would love to however after gymnastic my friend is arriving with her boys and not sure she'd look after all 5 kids whilst dh and I stuffed ourselves into a stupid corner bath that I can't get into on my own I hate that bath

might drag her and the boys out to get filthy too though, she lives her life so efficiently I bet her kids have never been muddy a day in their lives bless them

hotterpotter · 21/11/2009 20:15

Evening all

Both DC asleep by 8 which is a relief but not before utter meltdown screaming/kicking/crying from DD because first we wouldn't sing her bedtime songs again and then it was my turn to take DS to bed and not sit with her Poor DH was feeling really bad because he takes it so personally and I didn't get to give my baby boy a bedtime cuddle again oh well at least they are both asleep now and that was the main objective.

Soon be wine o'clock here too no Strictly though, we will have to look deep within the Radio Times for something worth watching...

dizzydixies · 21/11/2009 20:21

and who decided to dress bigbird Erin?!?

hots am about to put these two down and I fear there is going to be a meltdown here too [meep]

possibly mine

Dizzy a muddy day sounds like a great idea I don't understand how other people keep their DC clean, my two, especially DS, could really do with hosing down every night, even if they haven't been outside

Sazz glad DD1's party went well Did you forget to buy sausages or just leave them in the fridge? If the latter then be very careful later on when you are a bit tipsy

Wotcha cyteen

Need to get some photos sorted for grandparent calendars tonight. Snapfish have them half price until midnight tomorrow so if I can get them done that will be a big chunk of Christmas sorted!

dizzydixies · 21/11/2009 20:26

very welcome Sazz, considering how long I've had them for her I can't believe I still managed to send it late - sorry and also apologies in advance for any injuries that occur either to herself of you all during their use - probably wasn't the best thought out present but they were pretty - should have bought her a torch

I can't work out why I'm in such a foul mood - am sitting trying to work out when my period is due/ am still tired from that fecking flu/ DH and I have cabin fever and its mum's birthday on monday too

Awwww Dizzy love you have been really poorly and it will take a while to get your strength up again. Can I say though that there are a small but doughty band of masochists sensible girls who could bend your ear about the soul-buffing properties of exercise... you know where we are

QueenofDreams · 21/11/2009 20:54

Hello ladies
We've had connection problems all day, so haven't been able to post.

hots Seb is still a non walker. He's managed an unassisted step three times, but he's never taken more than just one.
PB The problem with DP's work, is that he works for an accountancy/business management practice. There's two other people that deal with bookkeeping. But they deal with ONE client each. DP deals with all the other clients. He has to do all the bookkeeping for them plus all the vat returns, month end, year end blah blah blah. So if he doesn't stay late and finish things he'll get the sack basically. He is also the kind of person who just puts his head down and gets his work done. But the boss likes the kind of people who are always brown nosing, so DP gets no recognition at work. he came in last night and the first thing he said was that he's going to talk to his boss on Monday because he can't carry on this way any more.
Next door neighbour is still making noises. Now it's sounding like very strange coughs. I can't work it out at all. (she's divorced, and has a 10yo DS)

Wow that was a bit of an essay

dizzydixies · 21/11/2009 20:57

I know hots but until today the most I had managed to do was a half hr wheech round Tesco which then wiped me out for the rest of the day - all great plans etc. DH was in the garden for half an hour (whilst I ironed) and his legs were wobbly - I think it'll take a wee while. The girls are with the CM Mon and Tues so fingers crossed I'll get a moment to try a decent walk - i.e. getting further than the swing park
