Hmm might be a bit early for a festive thread title but thought we could get in the mood.

None of that tasteful two colour decoration scheme in my tent - oh no. The gawdier the better.

oh ffs, DD1 has just announced they've to go into school wearing crazy clothes and have crazy hair for children in need - TOMORROW!!! nothing like a bit of notice

dizzydixies · 19/11/2009 15:38

and there is a letter in the bag to confirm it

oopsandbabycoconut · 19/11/2009 15:43

Dizzy - just send her in something of DD3's and forget to brush her hair!

lol dizzy are you just going to throw them outside for the swimming lesson (assuming you've had masses of rain?) I've also just realised ds1 is supposed to be wearing an eyepatch for C-I-N tomorrow. Have I bought one? Have I feck.

Hello everyone

LWFH cannot believe you are now 36 weeks Where has that time gone?

Just been to ds1's parents evening and got a very glowing report. Nothing surprising in there, except for his teacher saying how polite he is. We did check she was talking about our son....

O has started taking a few more steps - managed about 6 in a row now!

alittlebitshy · 19/11/2009 16:45

getting this on my thread.
at cockroaches.

at lwfh being 36 weeks already!!

steaknife · 19/11/2009 17:02

CC for six steps Izzy is up to five-ish if she really has to, though holding up her arms to be picked up or dropping to her knees and crawling are still her prefered methods of transport.

for the best mum out of ten fifty five thousand

don't talk to me about the French, I've not much interest in the footy but I'm with the Irish on this one. [hurrumph]

steaky yay for Izzy! I'm beginning to wonder if Oliver will actually walk, or just spend his life crawling?

steaknife · 19/11/2009 17:13

CC I am just waiting for her to get walking. I remember when she first started crawling - years ago at ten months - and the first day or so she was a bit tentative and then one day she was racing down the hall only pausing to turn round and laugh at mummy-slow-coach in the kitchen.

We went to the beach today and stroked a big old colly dog and picked shells - well I picked shells she picked up stones, which will not be making it to my festive door wreath.
Izzy oofs at dogs.
Me "look Izzy, a dog, what does the dog say?"
Izzy "oof oof"

Ooo yes, dogs say 'fff' here Steaky. Too cute. And just today I realised that when DD clears her throat twice she means 'hedgehog'. Things only a parent can translate, eh...

dizzydixies · 19/11/2009 18:29

you've just reminded me Pert that when DD2 was trying to say 'duck' it was as if she was clearing her throat to spit

PoinsettiaBouquets · 19/11/2009 19:40

LOL Lyra had a bit of speech delay/impediment that only I could understand. It meant that the sound 'puh' could be puss or poo or prune depending on the context. In fact all my kids seem to take a while to warm up to this talking lark, bit embarrassing what with me being a linguistics graduate. Me and my dad decided Kurt said Grandpa today though (well, 'baba') but it may have been wishful thinking on our part.

I'm feeling disturbingly compelled to tune into Jungle to watch what that ghastly woman does. Can't bear to give her the ratings but her psychopathic behaviour is so fascinating.

PoinsettiaBouquets · 19/11/2009 20:36

Just thought I'd share - I'm getting these Jeans with Sazz's Littlewoods code - they've got loads of good reviews (who reviews jeans?).

PoinsettiaBouquets · 19/11/2009 20:46

Sazz's code didn't work bu they have a first timer code for £15 off £25 spend ZG134. Got 2 pairs jeans and a colouring set for a tenner so I aint complaining.

oopsandbabycoconut · 19/11/2009 21:27

I'm off to bed now folks so you can all come out and chat now

steaknife · 19/11/2009 21:33

I'm off in a bit too.

I've been embroidering a christmas tree to scan and make cards from. That is I embroidered a tree design, I haven't got a tree up and been wrestling with a giant needle threaded with tinsel.

Though that sounds like a lot of fun

Nighty night oops

Tasty jeans PB With my well-added arse and hips, they would make me look like a tragic try hard.

I think DS has the beginning of talking - tonight after cleaning his teeth I said 'all done' and he said 'duh!' with a very decisive slashing hand gesture He also spent a good 10 minutes walking around with the phone in his hand, pausing to push some buttons, then putting it up to his ear and saying BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH

(am not really here, just doing a few essential email tasks...honest)

My theory is that highwaisted skinny jeans should act like Spanx. Will let your know the outcome of the test. TBH skinny jeans are quite comfy as long as you don't wash them too often (like every 10 wears) - the lycra does its thing and the cotton softens up nicely with a bit of sweat and dirt. Skanky I know but I'm actually serious. Jeans are not meant to be immaculate, it demeans them. And as for ironing them...

God I'm bored! Am on my own for the first time in 4wks and can't think of anything else to do but rant about people having better personal hygiene than me. I'm off to read some Terry Pratchett to knock some sense into me. Night.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 19/11/2009 22:33

Lol at skanky. I have to agree though.

sazzles you sound very organised for tomorow. Hope it all goes well. Sorry to here about poor dd2 though. Is she teething. Ds has settled after three really bad days of clinginess and nightwakings. Well the clinginess not stopped. He has some new teeth poking through at the end of all this though.

I too love the jeans, but am deciding between them a shrug top to hide arms over whatever or a footmuff for dd.

cyteen & sazz I have seen you both in rl and you will both look hotties in those skinny jeans.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 19/11/2009 22:35

steaky put your fingers in your ears and cover your eyes
My dh has just text from work to say get my out and the wine poured.

I am tired doncha know...
