Hmm might be a bit early for a festive thread title but thought we could get in the mood.

None of that tasteful two colour decoration scheme in my tent - oh no. The gawdier the better.

OP posts:

CaptainCaveman · 03/12/2009 11:35

Nice work miamla I never heard of a foof before . Prefer Floradix myself

cyteen glad J is better. O has a hacking cough and streaming nose that seems to have lingered over the last 10 days. I need to book him in for his MMR but guess I'll have to wait til his current lurgey has gone.

VG I need a little girl so I too can buy pink things. I'm also outnumbered with the rest of the household, including the cat, being male . I will if you will

Am pretending to work working hard....office empty! Just having my statutory break....

miamla · 03/12/2009 11:45

agree, floradix better but the foof does look like a comfy place to spend some time

i'm outnumbered here too, incl a male cat as well so can i join the 'i will if you will' club

snotexpectingsnow · 03/12/2009 11:55

Me too with DH, DS and male cat! Please can I join...

CaptainCaveman · 03/12/2009 12:11

Why not! New Year, New Baby? . I think Dh would be a bit more like or

CaptainCaveman · 03/12/2009 12:11

Have to agree (and lol) that foof seems like a 'comfy place to spend some time'

QueenofDreams · 03/12/2009 12:37

Oooh my SS pressie has arrived
I will have to hide it somewhere.
As Anne Shirley says 'It's much easier to resist when you can't get the key'

miamla · 03/12/2009 12:43
Grin
miamla · 03/12/2009 12:47

oops, my grin arrived without my message...

i'd like an XXL foof please

CaptainCaveman · 03/12/2009 12:56

Blimey I'm drowning in paper here. So much to do, and so little of it interesting

oopsandbabyJesusinacoconut · 03/12/2009 13:09

I made D an advent calendar similar to VG's DS1's but instead of little bags she has little stockings with a number on each one. She is still a little small for it but everynight the fairy leave a few raisins or fruit flakes Will see how long we can live without the choccie in it.

I hadn't read the rest of the thread and only caught Miamlas I'd like an XXLfoof and nearly wet myself. Now I know she wasn't being rude.

DD sleeping on the sittingroom floor, DH's cake just out of the oven, card mad, t-shirt drawn on, other gifts wrapped - I think I might finally be organised. Ils coming for dinner tonight - DH wants Indian takeaway they want chinese but we are out to dinner at a local chinese tomorrow nigth so I will have to do 2 takeaway stops tonight.

When DD wakes up we are off to buy a new kettle - wow how exciting our life is

Has anyone heard from No1?

Steaky still having problems accessing MN.

dizzycringles · 03/12/2009 13:12

Miamla I think after the size of the 3 babies I had I've already got an XXL foof [meep]

its the word that DD1 came up with for her bits and it has remained firmly that ever since with DD2 just using it too!

for those of you feeling the need for pink I am willing to post one orall of mine on a time share basis. They're all quite solid so help with postage appreciated

longway hope you're doing ok

lucky and steaky and No1 hope all 3 are well

welcome back poppy will be in touch very soon as would love to see you all

snot thanks for asking but no more replies from guntree add. we have however secured a place with a CM on a Monday and she'll take DD2 to her swimming lesson as her daughter goes at that time too. She also has a Tuesday free at the moment so if we're stuck on a Tues she's happy to swap between but only until she fills that place

we visited the nursery yesterday and they can take DD2 but not D - they have a viewing this morning and if that couple don't take the space in the baby room then we can have it. She has also told me she'll try to accomodate swapping days where she can subject to availibility and as long as I don't tell the other parents because she doesn't want everyone trying to do it.

It DOES however mean that the girls will be in childcare for 3 days a week even though we don't need them to be - we have to do it for the weeks that we do need the help though all a huge pita and still wishing lovely CM hadn't given up. I spoke to her this morning too and she has agreed that if we are absolutely stuck she would come down to ours and watch the kids for us in our house to help us out so between taking time off/swapping shifts/a CM/ a nursery and and ex CM/ the occassional good will of friends and my aunt every now and then we might possibly be sorted (could someone turn off the lights, close the curtains, let me lie down and put a damp cloth over my head please?) roll on the cafe

VG thank goodness Mammy Irish now has a bed - hope your lovely turn of phrase sorted them right out

dizzycringles · 03/12/2009 13:16

oops advent calendars sounds lovely - its something I always mean to get around to doing I did see one on the Graham and Green website but was waiting on a discount code to buy it, as was everyone else apparently as its now sold out - gits!

right, PIL arriving on Tues and kids at CM today and tomorrow so I should be picking blind material for the kitchen, hidying and sorting out the decorations. Instead my friend was round this morning to fix my sockets and brought his wee girl so I was playing with her, making fudge & white chocolate muffins and bacon butties - am now sitting on lardy arse as I ONLY nipped on to say THANKS to my Sectre Santa as my pressie arrive this morning

I did have a moment of as I couldn't remember what else I had ordered from amazon

CaptainCaveman · 03/12/2009 13:24

I can dilly dally no longer, must get on with some meaningless tripe Very Important Work Stuff

dizzycringles · 03/12/2009 13:27

Cece - just let me know what day you want the girls, you'll obvisouly need at least 2 to help balance it all up

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 03/12/2009 13:28

Hey ladies.

Sorry been absent, illness lingering sometime, for me and both dcs.
Combined with af and just feeling shite.

vg I was so and to read about the shocking treatment of your mum.
Its hard to believe this could happen.
Thinking of you all.

Now forgive me for not being able to catch up properly, but I will.
miamla poor you and ds with all that sickness, how awful for you both.I do hope you are both on the mend.

oops yay for movement of baby Hector. I recieved the ss (the post mark was a give away)

I posted mine yesterday, sorry it was late.

cc I am glad the tree made your ds1 feel so much better.

I am loving all this talk of fushia trees for the girls.
MY dh said NO TREE this year.
So does that make him the No1 Miser/scrooge or what????

He has purchased some twig thing with fibre optic lights, as he said it was stressful removing dd from the tree every 2 minutes last year, that it would be horrendous with two of them.
We have a little Black one for them to decorate with tiny baubles and tiny nativity decorations, but I imagine the Big tree will come out too.

Almost organised for xmas, nearly all gifts bought, just cards to do and gifts to wrap.

dizzycringles · 03/12/2009 13:35

yeah, welcome back No1!! now off you pop and get your Christmas name on

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 03/12/2009 13:36

x post dizzy that sounds like some serious childcare going on. Glad its getting sorted for you though.

Me & dh are off for our Romantic minibreak tomorow.
Really looking forward to it.(knackered though, but need to make the effort)

I finaly took dcs to Docs the other day, after doc rang to give phone advice and told me to fetch them up.
DS has ear infection, but both dcs chests clear.
I was quite as dd seemed more ill than ds. I suppose leaving them for nearly a week, she had got over the worst of it.
Our docs are shite, you have to make an appointment for when you think you may be ill, to actualy get an appointment.iykwim and they make you out to be neurotic parent and just say.'oh its viral' so I just didnt bother.
We have a choice between DR google and dR google.
Both dcs been perkier today though so have been to toodlers this am to spreadourgerms have a break.

LentilsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 03/12/2009 13:37

Our permanent advent calendar with little bags on came from the great god Lidl.

And it doesn't have sweets in yet ... Last year dd1 kept nicking the sweets out of the bottom row.

I'm trying to figure out if I can be brave and take the lads out for a walk on this freezing but lovely afternoon.

Hello Poppy - glad to hear about DH being lovely when things are hectic and uncertain. I've been meaning to say, I only mentioned the standing on the table story because versions of it happen here all the time and because I'm pretty sure my first thought would have been to rescue the glasses.

A swine flu vaccination letter came for dd1 today, so time to decide about that I think.
Any views? My instinct is to get the lads vaccinated but my cousin who works on drug testing isn't letting her children have it and it's made me pause I have to admit ...

dizzycringles · 03/12/2009 13:37

ah no fair, the postmark on my SS doesn't tell me anything although I have to say thank you for the lovely wrapping, much nicer than my poor efforts

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 03/12/2009 13:38

lol dizzy was thinking No1sfatarsegotstuckupthechimney

QueenofDreams · 03/12/2009 13:39

good to see you no1
at no tree. But then I think we'll probably not have a tree this year ourselves so ho hum.
DS is upstairs not having a nap. He's tired, but refusing to sleep. Just like yesterday. So now I'm wondering if he's decided to drop the nap. I don't know. All I know is that I seriously need a shower right now.

LentilsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 03/12/2009 13:40

X-post No1 - glad you are back.

I asked about your dd the other week and then got totally hijacked by work for a week or so and didn't reply properly. Sorry about that ...

How are the two of them getting along now?

Have a lovely mini-break by the way. You really deserve pampering

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 03/12/2009 13:41

Lentil I have not got my head around the swine flu jab thing yet,as ds has not even had his MMR due to being poorly all the time but I am still thinking NO NO NO to the pig jab.

dizzycringles · 03/12/2009 13:43

Queenie naps should continue to happen until at least the age of 3 in this house at least - remember you're the boss

No1 - am doubting very much you have a fat arse but good effort none the less and btw - no tree just would not happen in this house!!!

LentilsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 03/12/2009 13:44

Good christmas name No1

DD1's letter for Santy started by asking 'Why do you get stuck up chimneys all the time? Why do you get stuck in fires?'

She has asked for two packets of crisps and a Christmas cracker. She'd also like

  1. a hula kind of slide that looks like this [squiggle] and
  2. a dula kind of thing that drops pencils all over the place. [another squiggle].

That's her entire list.
