Hmm might be a bit early for a festive thread title but thought we could get in the mood.

None of that tasteful two colour decoration scheme in my tent - oh no. The gawdier the better.

lol, I actually don't think it does - bless him and you know that wouldn't concern my DH in the slightest!!! we were all chuffed with ourselves as we took the shitheap bus to the carwash

oh, oh I've had a reply to the gumtree ad - from an 18yr old student nurse, now I can just imagine how DH will feel about that [meep]

TwilightSurfer · 30/11/2009 22:21

OH SECRET SANTA.....

I have a question. Do I have TWO Secret Santas?

And for the record my gift is being sent from the UK so :P you can't tell by the packaging that it's from ME!!!

So fess up...is it possible to have 2 Secret Santas???

TwilightSurfer · 30/11/2009 22:40

I just realized that nobody will answer that questions because nobody wants to divulge their Secret Santa roles yet. Well let me tell you I am completely baffled now!

Saw the hand doc today. He said he's for sure I was in some pain before but that it all looks like it's healing nicely. He did give me a look that my gp didn't give me anti-b's but hey ho my body is a miracle healing itself! Sazzles he did go over all the bad details you went over with me. Then he pushed and pulled on my finger just like my chiropractor did. Looks like all I really needed was my chiropractor and Sazzles. It's just nice that I can make a fist today...first time in a MONTH!

What's this about a shag pad?? That's just too funny. As is DH's responses. Mine would probably say something similar.

TwilightSurfer · 30/11/2009 22:52

and here i am again!

reese is stringing words together and making sentences. is that possible? i can totally understand some of what she's saying now and it's MORE THAN ONE WORD THINGS!!

on another note she stinks to high heavens so i must run off again.

miamla · 30/11/2009 23:20

hiya,self absorbed post coming up!
DS hadn't been sick all day and we thought he was over the worse of it and then tonight, its been continual. he's finally asleep now so i'm back to camping out on his bedroom floor

this being a mum lark is bloody worrying when they're ill. he's coping so well, even to the extent of being sick in a bucket now instead of all over me

TwilightSurfer · 30/11/2009 23:27

(((hugs))) miamla. you said it! nobody is prepared for the sick child.

i'm here if you need a shoulder.

i will be working on the parent's letters that should have gone home with kids today. i'm considering setting up a page on the internet to help facility what needs to organized.

miamla · 30/11/2009 23:31

thanks TS
i'd do anything to take it all away from him but i know we just have to be patient and that time will fix him

why not just get parent's email addresses and then that way you can just zap an email out to them. no need to rely on letters not being left in school bags!

TwilightSurfer · 30/11/2009 23:42

lol
that's one of the plans

miamla · 30/11/2009 23:53

we are obviously both geniuses

TwilightSurfer · 01/12/2009 00:05

i would concur.

TwilightSurfer · 01/12/2009 00:43

researching a little (should be doing something else). i've confirmed both packages i've received could have been sourced from the same place. so now i'm back to thinking i know who my secret santa is....and she's pretty sneaky!

TwilightSurfer · 01/12/2009 00:55

okay so do i look funny if i exclaim:
"BRAP!"

just trying to learn the "lingo".

RedLentil · 01/12/2009 01:11

The website/email idea is cool.

Setting up an email account for the playgroup caused some suspicion here. Though everyone is getting the hang of broadband for contact with the lesser non-Corkonian parts of the universe, the idea that we would use it to sort out stuff with each other is taking a while to catch on just because it wasn't really an option with dial-up.

It turns out that the reason our phonelines came back up so quick after the floods is that dh teaches the son of the man in charge of the decision.

Now,do I send out the doc I have been working on, or check it in the morning.

You have impeccable taste in fires VG. The hideousness I had in mind was the badly installed Stanley perched on two rows of bricks and some bare concrete in my front room. The Skype expired as soon as it hoved into view the other night ...

DD1 is being a grumpy puss but DS repaid my faith in him by reading his new harder reading book much better than he has been reading the easy ones (I'd pfb-ishly predicted this to his teacher and she'd moved him up). Really, he hates stuff that isn't tricky.

DD2 is expanding her wordbase too, TS. She spent most of the day angling for a 'beeba' which is a 'big bath.'

At bedtime, she refused to go down and directed me about until she had her grobag off and was running around with a pushchair. She practically expired with distress when I put the grobag back on.

Miamla, sorry the ladeen is still sick.

I must sleep. = half-asleep emoticon ...

TwilightSurfer · 01/12/2009 01:54

Red that's too cute about the before bed refusal. I'd say you should sleep now and deal with the doc later. Night Night

snotexpectingsnow · 01/12/2009 02:10

Red that's great about DS reading and very cute DD with her big bath!

TS wow that's amazing. DS has finally worked out who he is now and will now say his name rather than 'baby' when he looks in the mirror although I think the 'S' is a bit difficult so he is now called 'Nam'

Secret Santa - mine should not be obvious by the postmark but that's all I'm saying.

TwilightSurfer · 01/12/2009 02:24

Snot, Reese plays a little game with me a dozen times throughout the day. She'll say "Mama" and my proper reply is "ReeseE" then she'll cackle-laugh. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. It totally amuses her. I can see where the "S" would be difficult. My DD1 has called herself Tinsley instead of Kinsley for years. Obviously "K" is difficult too. LOL!

Well I know I am not the only Secret Santa who sourced their goods from a vendor who's address is not her own. Should I have mailed it from my post office so it got that official location stamp???? I put a HUGE hint in the card. Will the person in charge be posting a round-the-world list so we can see who had who? You know me and lists!

snotexpectingsnow · 01/12/2009 03:21

Hi TS Funny he's been able to say 'sssss' for a snake for absolutely ages - was the first animal sound he made - just doesn't seem to be able to put the 2 together yet!

I think Buckets should reveal all on the Secret Santa list as she picked the names but only possibly after we've opened the pressies - those who've already divulged/opened excluded of course!

morning ladies.
Sorry to hear of sicky babies, and Oops's scare.
Glad all is ok with your bump oops although am very at that doctor. Care for women possibly/having a mc is appalling.
I'm tired this morning. Seb's two molars are STILL not through, but they're making their presence known. Just wish they'd hurry up and pop through now, they're hurting my baby and making him grumpy!
He now has a cut on his finger to add to that. He broke my glass this morning, I wizzed round clearing the pieces up and thought I'd got it all but I hadn't Thankfully it's not too bad, but it makes me feel sick to think of how much worse that could have turned out.

hotterpotter · 01/12/2009 08:48

Morning all

Sorry to hear DS is still feeling so bad Miamla , it's so worrying but he will be better soon

Sazz your day sounds fine, I am contemplating going to the shops but with one or two small children in tow the idea is less appealing. Sadly as one of the reasons I am going is to check if DS has outgrown his shoes he will definitely have to come

Shoes not my best subject today though, got a delivery of two lovely pairs of boots this morning, and they'll both have to go back . It's not even that I can't get them over my fat calves, because I can , but one pair is too tight on my feet and the other just look wrong . Oh well, the credit card will be relieved

oopsandbabycoconut · 01/12/2009 08:53

Morning all

A good night here but WHY does she wake at 5.45 when she has slept through but will sleep until 6.45 when I have go back to bed routine in the middle of the night. I have to confess I fed her and kept her amused in the dark until 7.15 then let her watch Peppa Pig in bed so I could nap a bit more. DH still sleeping which is good, FIL came around last night an proclaimed the DH looked fine and there was nothing wrong with him (DH was an hour post neurofen and wrapped in 2 blankets on the sofa with the heating at 25 )

Sazzles - Sorry you had a rough night, enjoy your shopping. DH is threatening me with Cabot Circus on Saturday [aaaarrrghh]

Miamla - Hope T is better this morning and you manage a quiet and peaceful day.

Snot - DD shows absolutely no interest in herself in the mirror even when we show her she would rather smile at DH or me.

I think I might have outed myself with my Secret Santa as DH posted it at work and their franking machine puts company name and address on it.

Ohh she is whiffy and yelling Mama, mama, pooo pooo I think I had better go.
