Hope the christening goes well tomorrow and the rain stays away AM

My lovely new house was nearly flooded today by my very helpful son lol. E had gone round to 'help' DH and was given the simple task of stripping the wallpaper in the halls. After doing most of it he realised he couldnt get it from behind the radiator so he went upstairs to speak to Dh who was so busy he didnt really listen to what E said and just said Ok. Next thing they know a panicking E is rushing upstairs shouting about water dripping everywhere. It turned out that when he had spoken to DH he had asked if it was ok if he took the radiator off the wall because he couldnt reach the rest of the paper, when a distracted dh had said ok, E had gone downstairs, picked up the correct tools and started to remove the radiator from the wall Luckily it was easily fixed and as my MIL said, no one could tell him off because dh had, sort of, given him the go ahead to do it. They were very impressed that he had managed to find the right tools and managed to undo it all, not bad for a 6yr old He then went on to get covered in white paint although how that happened we dont know as he told dh that he hadnt touched the paint yet his nice blue tracksuit was covered in white splodges. He then said the lid did it

I give up After spending most of last week in and out of hospital with Deacon which resulted in very little packing being done I had planned a quick trip to the new house today and was then going to crack on. WE just got as far as the road near us and Deacon decided to throw up coating himself and his pushchair with vomit. Im a bit worried though as he has had a bit of a runny tummy for the past few days which i put down to having painkillers for the past 10days but this morning his stools were very runny and very pale, a bit like magnolia paint. I dont know if this is a bug or needs a trip to the gp. He hasnt got a temperature though. It feels the poor boy has been ill for ages

Pebblemum · 23/03/2010 23:07

Someone please rescue me!!!
Since Sunday I have had both Deacon and Alana ill. Deacon was only sick the once but has had an upset tummy since and its still pale in colour then just as she was going to bed that night Alana said her tummy hurt, an hour later and she threw up. She finally stopped at 7am yesterday. All the two of them wanted to do was sleep, they must of slept for about 18hrs yesterday. Today they both managed to eat a bit and seemed to be getting better but then Deacon developed a temperature and Alana started saying her tummy hurt again. Half hour ago she decided to throw up Im supposed to be taking Deacon back to the hospital for a check up tomorrow, hes still not walking properly, hes managed about 2 steps at the most. I really want to get it sorted but at the same time i cant take them if they are ill, wouldnt want to risk infecting anyone else, even though ive got a feeling that its from there they probably caught it.

Pebblemum · 23/03/2010 23:10

Meant to say
AM the christening pics are lovely. Im glad you all had a great day

AprilMeadow · 24/03/2010 09:35

Blimey Pebble you are really having a tough time at the moment! I hope that the kiddies are on the mend soon for you, although i guess sooner rather than later would be good as you are moving in a few days. Are you packed and ready to go or do you still have loads to do?

Thank you, the Christening was lovely & Lucy was an absolute angel, she was happy all day

Am in puree mode today - so far we have a tray with apple & pear, will be tackling carrot & sweet potato later.

Moijaimelacountry · 26/03/2010 10:18

Hello

Slaps self and everyone else for not being more committed to our lovely mummies here. 2 days without a single post, it's disgusting!

Not much changes for me, new dog is cool and keeping me fit. Still wearing the wooden floors away most nights, still dieting (nothing new there) am 2 stone down since Sept so slow but consistent so happy. H, M and J are doing fab, I might let J go to school all day after easter if she want's to. It's really nice now they are all a bit older and more independant, think we have decided not to have a fourth (sorry AM) won't be me. I feel a little sad about it but there ya go. Alex is busy atm which is always a blessing.

Peb, hope the new house is perfect for you and that you are all over your various ailments soon.

lg&t whats the news any?

Come back everyone, I miss us & I promise to make more off an effort if you all do too. xx

SKYTVADDICT · 28/03/2010 13:05

Hello all.

Sorry not posted in ages.

Minding going well but so much to do, paperwork, planning etc. The LO has been off sick for quite a few days too!

I took and passed the Introduction to Childcare Practice course that you have to do. I am going to study for something further but the Diploma is being discontinued and apparently so are NVQs so not sure what to do yet.

We have had the usual coughs and colds, mine has come back again!

Sorry for such a short visit - I do lurk - and there is of course also FB for those of us who are on it which I think keeps us up to date

JamInMyWellies · 30/03/2010 21:40

Blimey it's a bit quiet in here.

How are you all?

Off to Scotchland for Easter on Thursday it is going to frickin snow can you believe it!

Shmokers is driving me up the wall we have very succesfully given up the dummy and he now sleeps But he has aquired a v v naughty streak his favourite pastime climbing on to the windowsill and waving at the world.

Archie poor love is still a bit under the weather he has got an infection on his willie and is pretty mizog. Hopefully the antibiotics will kick in soon and he will be back n form soon enough.

Come on girls we cant let this thread die!

elkiedee · 31/03/2010 01:39

Well done on passing the Intro CM course Sky, hope you find somthing further suitable.

I'm ok and so are D and C, generally, but they're making us very tired. I've survived a restructure at work as they've decided to leave my post untouched, but I'm feeling survivor guilt already as a lot of people are losing their jobs, and the other 7 secretaries have to apply for 5 posts. I don't know if I posted on this thread but my mum is having treatment for bowel cancer, she is just home this week from surgery which seems to have gone well, but very weak, and I alternate between being relieved at more hopeful news and thinking that I wasn't told some of the worst bits earlier.

elkiedee · 31/03/2010 01:39

Pebble, hope your little ones feel better soon.

Moijaimelacountry · 31/03/2010 22:24

We can't let it die Jam! Our may babies will start turning 3 this month (in a few hours), I can't believe we've all been chatting for that long, seems sad to let it go I blame face ache tbh!

Well done Sky, you'll have a house full of kids soon, can I send a cupboard or two?

Jam hope A is better soon and glad to hear you are getting some sleep now. Time to make number three then.

Elkie, sorry to hear about your Mum, the big C is crap, crap, crap! Part of my life every day atm too and not easy.

Really looking forward to easter week, have my best friend coming with her two boys, the last time she came was a few weeks after J arrived and it pissed with rain the whole time she was here. Hoping for some better weather and to be able to get out and about a bit. We are having a duck race for Amelia on Easter Monday down at the river, should be a great afternoon, loads of friends and families getting together to race yellow bath ducks. madness!

J has started full time at school. I miss her in the afternoons now, but she asked to stay and the school were happy to have her.

hope everyone else is ok. x

AprilMeadow · 01/04/2010 09:10

Morning!!

Sorry been a bit manic lately and it doesnt look like its going to stop until June!

Went to the Sanctuary in Covent Garden yesterday for a a day of pampering all on my own (was my xmas pressie from dh). Was total bliss. Dh did really well with Lucy - it was the first time i have left her during the day. He had his schedule to follow and although it did slip she was really good for him. I took my swing pump and shut myself away in the changing room on a couple of occasions - am sure that people were wondering what the noise was

Lucy is getting quite chunky now (well i think so) probably due to the solids she is now on. Rolling periodically and babbling all the time!

We have now entered manic birthday month and am sooo not organised for it! I have Jack's present and am picking Ella's up today. Ella is getting an Angelina Ballerina bike with basket & baby seat which she will LOVE and Jack has a iPod Touch... totally unsuitable for a 5 year old, but its all he wants and perhaps it will stop him from hijacking our iPhones and zapping all the battery power! Will also come in very handy on the flight next month as i can download his favourite programs and he will sit for hours

Off to Thruxton this weekend for the start of the British Touring Cars Season - VERY excited

Well done to L for losing the dummy JAM. LOL at your climber though.. Mine are always sitting on the playroom window sill, it drives me mad! Poor A, i hope it all clears up quickly. Safe journey to your motherland, hope there isnt too much snow!

MrsJB, thank you for my parcel! I have been really slack and totally forgot to post my goodies to you. Will get them off today . Aww bless little J being in full time. I'm so pleased that by her staying off for a few extra months that she is now ready for it and is asking to stay.. You had better get an ad out for renting the cupboard out on a part time basis .

What is everyone up to for Easter?

SKYTVADDICT · 01/04/2010 21:17

I need a cupboard for L! He bit my mindee today and I had to fill in an Accident and Incident report!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend and holidays.

JamInMyWellies · 02/04/2010 05:27

Oh dear Sky, cupboard it is.

Nice to "see" you AM, MrsJB, Elkie.

Right then you horrible lot I know you are out there I have seen you on other threads.

Moi I agree it's very easy to see how everyone is doing as we all use FB.

So we are in Edinburgh after a relatively uneventful journey apart from a naked strip down of shmoks by the side of the A1. He also has been awake since 1! So much for sleeping through it would appear that whenever we go anywhere which involves him sleeping in something other than his bedroom we hve pro lems.

Also I think I have a throat infection for two days now my throat has been really sore and am swallowing painkillers like they are sweeties.

Anyway on that joyful note (no wonder no one is posting) Have an eggcellent Easter.

Moijaimelacountry · 02/04/2010 08:42

Easter was going to be great here, spent with my best friend who phoned me yesterday to say her youngest is poorly and the dr says he's not fit to travel so they are not coming now. I am sooooo gutted and pissed off. AM go and give her a slap for me, you know the one just up the road I know illness can't be helped but I feel let down!

Raining alot here, need some sun!

Jam have a nice trio, hope it's not too cold for you. brrrrr

glad the parcel arrived AM, hope you all have great b'days. H has an Ipod touch and uses it so much, he loves the games and does listen to his favorite songs when travelling. He loves linking it up with his dads and battleing out over things. Will help Jack with his reading too.

Where is the G&T?

120 · 02/04/2010 09:04

hello everyone, happy easter. just stumbled across this thread by mistake and am smiling at all the familiar faces! (Tis Befnal here).

charleymouse · 02/04/2010 18:41

I Must try harder.
I must try harder.
I must try harder.
I must try harder.

Sorry ladies, have been AWOL. trying to keep on top of house, family and clear out the old house (I still have things stored in garage ) whilst spending half my day in the blasted car. Plus I have been going into work as one of my projects has gone a bit askew.

Thanks for the text message Gin, sorry my screen hes been wanged by DSs sword. I intend to get a new one when I get round to it but in the mean time I get text messages intermittently.

Had a bit of a downer of late have weird guilt feelings re H as she would probably not be here if B was then feel bad about B. Been a bit confused about it to be honest. Sorry. Tried to stay out of the way as a miserable bitch. I should know better and let you girls straighten me out.

H is rolling over and an absolute little darling; the DCs love her to bits but are a bit trying at the minute. DHs dad got rushed into hospital on Wednesday night with constipation and had a huge tumour removed from his bowel yesterday. No idea it was there he just felt rough last weekend. Anyway prognosis looks good, DH visiting at the moment. Have not told the DCs.

DD came runner up in the Decorated egg competition as it was obvious her egg was all her own effort, (unlike some ) it was painted with nail varnish and glitter with sequins on. It was lovely. She is very proud.

Gosh can't believe our little ones are soon to be three. Good lord where is the time going. G has a little motorised tractor which is in hiding round at his Grandpas house.

Anyway I promise to try harder and get back to my mammoth posts (if you don't mind) and hope to catch up soon although can make no promises over the Easter hols as I have all the DCs at home just have to get DH to/fro work every day.

Ooh DH did the Liverpool half marathon last weekend in 1 hour 34. [Proud wifey emoticon] He is doing so well bless him.

Hope you are all well and DCs are doing fine. Much love CM

AprilMeadow · 03/04/2010 20:25

Massive birthday wishes to George xxx

Thinking of you today Charley and sending birthday wishes to Benjamin xx

Hey there Befnal

charleymouse · 04/04/2010 00:55

Happy Easter Ladies, hope the easter bunny is good to you and brings plenty of that calorie free chocolate.

Well poor old G is in bed with upset tummy, put it down to excitement and too much junk but he could not keep water down, should be an eventful night. Have just laid out the egg hunt, blast that underfloor heating though, I have to be really creative how I position the eggs/bunnies.

Night night, sleep tight hope the bed bugs don't bite.

charleymouse · 07/04/2010 11:16

Oh blardy hell have killed the thread.

JamInMyWellies · 07/04/2010 11:30

Ah ha Charley helllooooo tumbleweed just went past Essex too.

How is G?

Am bored and poorly am sitting in what must be the busiest slowest Doctors surgery ever. I have an incredibly sore throat and ear. I am going to beg for drugs if they tell me it's viral I will cry.

Moi how was the duck race?

Pebblemum · 07/04/2010 22:26

Evening all

We are finally in our new house, its been a nightmare but felt like home as soon as i walked into it. Dh and my in-laws did a great job decorating. A loves her pink princess room (she says that at least twice a day lol) and we didnt see much of E in the first few days as he was cocooned in his room. Poor J got told off because he dared put a foot in E's room without his permission and if anyone dares mess E's bed up WW3 breaks out
We finally broke free of the bug the day after we moved, after A (who suffered for almost 5 days it was E's turn, then both me and dh suffered a bit on the day we were moving. J seemed to escape it but after suffering for a week has today been diagnosed with tonsilitis. Add to that the problems we have had since moving in ie no heating, boggey garden (courtesy of our lovely neighbour aiming their drainage into it , the same neighbour playing guitar at 2am, the internet not working, dh's laptop being wiped while trying to download virgins security and our dishwasher breaking and a few other things I can safely say I deserve the large glass of bacardi and coke I am currently glugging down.

Easter was a strange one this year as we have still had the inlaws round helping finish off little bits. Well i say little, dh and his dad were trying to dig a drainage hole in the back garden on easter sunday and had to make it almost as deep as dh before they got anywhere close to what was needed. They still have a lot to do before we can put the shed up but its dried out quite a bit already.

Its dh's birthday on Friday, havent got a clue what to get him. E decided today to arrange a party for his dad with his nans help The location?? Playzone!! The guests?? DH's aunty and her kids! E has also instructed his nan that his dad has to have a birthday cake with a motorbike on, beers for afterwards and all the kids need a partybag I wonder who this party is really for lol

Im going to go and pour myself another drink and check all my emails before dh gets home. I hope you are all well and we must keep this thread alive. Cant believe we have all been chatting for almost 4yrs lol

JamInMyWellies · 10/04/2010 07:32

Happy Birthday Ella.
