Great news pebble.

LG&T check out here lovely stuff not to bad priced or lots of nice things too

SKYTVADDICT · 26/02/2010 14:54

Hope you have a lovely time LG&T, you deserve it x

Jam - the thank you not is brill - it all looks so lovely from the photos. Something you will always remember. Especially on a bad day when DH is asking for his tea

I have virtually given up on C and his eating. He gets Thomas spagetti and bread most days now - I know that sounds bad but I have had enough of waste. My chant is "he will grow out of it". He eats lots of fruit - just no meat!

No more D&V yet - L a lot better just still has D

Pebblemum · 26/02/2010 16:18

Went to take a look where those properties were and wish I hadnt bothered
I was told at least one had a garden, what a joke, the only 'garden' I saw was a small patch just about big enough for the wheelie bins to go or a communial washing line area. I know we need to move but there is no way the kids would be happy in either of them. I cant expect them to give up their trampoline, swimming pool etc. Plus they make the Indian Slums look like Buckingham palace. I am still going to look round one on Monday (the one with the garden lol) just to see how big they are inside for future reference but I wont be taking it. I would rather stay where we are for the next year

Feel so miserable now

To top it all I keep getting letters addressed to a girl I have never heard of. Ive been giving them back to the postman but another came today so I opened it to find its from her probation officer She seems to have given them my address and hasnt been turning up for her meetings. This letter warns that she will be returned to court. I emailed them straight away as no one was answering their phone so I hope they correct their files asap otherwise they may turn up on my doorstep looking for her. Its bugging me though because the other night I had two policemen knock my door looking for a man and woman but I cant remember their names now, it may have been her they were looking for. I'll be bloody raided next, the way things are going.

largeginandtonic · 26/02/2010 19:41

Oh no Pebble! That is terrible Hope you get one soon.

Jam that link was fab. I chose a dress got all excited and emailed them asking of they could deliver by Monday. Nope... AND i then text COD to say i had found the dress and it was the same flippin one she is wearing! Gah. She is all tall and slim and glam. So i am going shopping tomorrow!

Hope the d&v STAYS away Sky!

Howdy all....

Haven't really been keeping up, sorry I'm rubbish at the moment.

Read down a little,

Peb, sorry about the housing issues, hope something gets sorted soon for you.

Lg&t, have a nice time in London tomorrow. Sounds like you will anyway.

Sky, hope something comes up for DP. x

Jam, tehe your puppy sounds fun!! Luckily for us, our's is already trained, she is the most obiedient dog I've met. You say sit, she sit's, you say bed, she gets in her bed, you say walk and she collects her lead and comes back with it. I'm yet to teach her "kill the kids" she didn't like our storms Saturday night though and cried all night.

We are off skiing on Friday night. We are all so in need of this holiday, things are pretty dire in the family atm as I'm sure you can imagine, it will be lovely to spend some time with Alix's dad and his sister who are both coming with us.

AM, could do with a natter, will try to catch you before we go. xxx

Lots of love to you all. Happy Rainbow day. xx

SKYTVADDICT · 01/03/2010 15:48

Mrs JB - sounds like you definitely need the break - it must be such a hard time for you all, I can't even begin to imagine.

The parent came with her little girl (17 months) - very cute but apparently a madam. She was extremely good while she was here though. Boys were very good too although L tried to share his toys a little too much by throwing them at her!

She seems keen and is going to let me know. It would be a very flexible contract and only until June as they are in the forces and hoping to be posted to Hampshire. I am quite desperate to get started as I need to sign off in order to claim the self employment credit of £50 a week for 16 weeks from the job centre. If I don't do this by 15 March I will lose it so fingers crossed for me x

SKYTVADDICT · 01/03/2010 15:49

Oh I forgot to add she works with people with challenging behaviour so may have hints and tips for me for DD2 and would probably not be phased by said DD2 shouting the other day whilst I was on the phone

Pebblemum · 01/03/2010 22:42

Glad things are looking up with the childminding Sky although it sounds like you may have your work cut out if her mum is right lol

MrsJB hope you enjoy the break, im sure you are all desperately in need of it.

LG&T have a great time in London

I went to view one of those properties today, just to show willing even though we knew we wouldnt want it. It gave us a chance to discuss the type of property that we needed with the housing officer. For instance this one had a tiny garden which wouldnt fit our swing in let alone our trampoline, there was no dining room to convert into an extra bedroom so E and J would still have to share. The bedrooms were similar sizes to what we already have and so the boys would still be very cramped and the room meant for A and D was just about big enough for a cot and a bed which meant no wardrobes etc so that wasnt very good. The kitchen was nice though lol. We were told that we were top of the list for a maisonette but as they all tend to have small gardens we have been taken off so that we dont waste our time looking round unsuitable properties. That leaves 3-4bed houses (which is what we really wanted anyway) We are 2nd on that list and we have extended our search to other areas so it will give us more chance. As long as J can still get to his school easily then we dont really mind. If need be E can change schools although at the moment he isnt too keen. Now all we have to do is wait for them to call us with another property.

J went back to school today. He has to stay in the Project Room until his leg is better but at least he is still doing schoolwork. Everything was fine until he fell over on the bus on the way home and banged his knee Luckily it didnt do any damage, just caused the bandage to come off. That boy needs to be wrapped in cotton wool lol

largeginandtonic · 02/03/2010 07:23

MrSjb i am thinking of you all. Have fun skiing my lovely xxx

Sky hooray with the CM, hope itall works out soon.

I am off this morning [nervous]

SKYTVADDICT · 02/03/2010 23:06

Good luck Pebble - 2nd on the list is good

Hope you are having a good time LG&T. I have seen the piccies SOH and others have been posting

They are coming tomorrow to sign the contracts . A minimum of 15 hours a week starting next week . Can you tell I am happy?

I am knackered now though as have just finished getting paperwork sorted for them to sign.

My friend has set up a web site for taggies and blankets etc that she makes. Could you all have a look if you get time to move it up the Google counter. I hadn't realised thats how it worked and it is only on page 2 at the moment. Am going to try and do a link smileybabycrafts.com

DP is out gritting.

I really need to go to bed!

SKYTVADDICT · 02/03/2010 23:07

Blimey - it worked! The first link I have ever done

JamInMyWellies · 03/03/2010 10:08

MrsJB thinking of you all. Very envious of your skiing trip. My sis has just got back from a wkend in Tahoe

SKYTVADDICT · 03/03/2010 22:22

Well they came, they signed and she starts Monday. In fact, every day next week. Over the next 5 weeks she will be coming 107 hours. I need to do an invoice for this .

I hope I sleep better tonight

largeginandtonic · 04/03/2010 10:37

Hulloooo

Sky fab news!! The money will start rolling in

No gossip really. I chatted to GB, he was very nice. Asked about the childre, very interested i thought.

Annabell Karmel is a line dancer who came in to contact with a shrinking ray at some point.

Tim Dowling was uber nice.

The Bloomsbury and Dyson girls were very nice. Erm. There was ALOT of Moet. It was held in the canteen at Google. Looked like a giant MAC. Free tampons in the toilet.

Canapes were terrifying but delicious once you had worked out how to eat them.

Some of the MNetters were vey odd. Some very nice (lucky for me my roomy was)

What else?

OP posts:
Tillyscoutsmum · 04/03/2010 10:57

Oooh - we need names of the very odd MNetters (via fb msg if necessary )

Sounds like a fab day.

Sky - glad to hear some good news - hope you slept better

Pebblemum · 05/03/2010 22:26

LG&T glad you had a great time. Cmon spill some goss about the odd mnetters

Sky you must be mad but im glad everything is signed and ready for you to be run ragged lol

we have another viewing on Monday!!! This time it is a 3bed HOUSE. We went to look at the it from the outside yesterday and it looks promising. It belonged to an old lady who had lived there since the house was built but sadly she has had to go into a home. We looked through the window and its quite old fashioned so will need a lot of work and also there is no central heating but that will be sorted before we move in, if we decide to take it. The garden looks a nice size and backs onto a nature reserve/stream. We spoke to a neighbour and she said its a quiet street but everyone mingles and the kids all play together. The only thing that will put us off is if the bedrooms arent big enough. The neighbour said the back rooms are big enough to split so that may be a possibility but we wont know until Monday. I hate waiting lol

AprilMeadow · 06/03/2010 12:36

Good news pebble on a viewing of a house.. Not wanting to sound funny but are bedroom sizes the be all and end all? If the house has enough living space in it and the garden is of a decent size and the neighbours seem pleasant would you really say no to something because the sleeping rooms were too small..?

Dh's aunt has a 3 bedroom house and 5 boys. They have 1 good size room, 1 medium size room and 1 box room and they all seem to manage ok because the living space is of a decent size even though they only have a lounge & kitchen diner. The garden is a good size so they were able to be outside a fair bit during the warmer months.

SKYTVADDICT · 06/03/2010 16:06

Sounds good Pebble. Fingers crossed for you x

C is ill AGAIN. I have about had enough now. I heard him get up at 6.10 and I must have gone back to sleep. Next thing is he comes in at 7, soaking wet with sweat but cold. I think he must have gone to sleep on the bathroom floor . We left him asleep in our bed until 9.30 ish. We wanted to go car seat shopping for the childminding as I need anoter one. Anyway he didn't want to wake up, was very cold (temp 35.4) and just said he was tired and kept turning over and going to sleep. He was still in damp pjs so I got him into dry clothes and covered with blankets and tried to make him drink warm juice. He came round a bit, watched tv, I carried him downstairs and he went back to sleep. I was getting a bit worried by then but his temp had come up to 36.6. He has had a small bit of lunch and more juice but is really pale and lethargic. I have just made him walk round the block to the post office but ended up carrying him. He is watching tv now. Why oh why do they worry us like this - aaargh!

JamInMyWellies · 06/03/2010 17:41

Oh SKY poor old C you are having a run of it at the mo. We too are the house of ill. Both bubs and myself are all snot ridden the most excitement we had today was goign to the local garden center for some cake then home to watch a couple of movies.

Themasterandmargaritas · 07/03/2010 16:28

Oh sky, poor you and C. I hope it's just one of those 24hr things that they do. But great news on the mindee, you will be brilliant.

Fingers crossed for the house pebble, it sounds very hopeful. Good for you for standing your ground. I'm with april, the size of the bedrooms won't really matter if you have a decent living room and garden. Ours are outside as often as possible.

LG&T have you come back down to earth yet? Where's the gossip you promised???? .

MrsJB I hope the skiing is fun.

Not much to report from here. I went to Tanzania last weekend to do a half marathon, 6 hour drive there, border crossing, 6 hour drive back. I was that desperate for a night away from the family It was great fun.

Today we went to see Alice in Wonderland, has anyone else been yet? It has amazing effects.

AprilMeadow · 07/03/2010 17:41

Poor C SKY.. I hope he is starting to feel a bit better. Forgot to say congrats on your first mindee

TMAM, well done you on your half marathon! My sis went to see Alice on Friday and thought it was great..

Been busily deep cleaning/blitzing the house this last week as dh is going away for a week as of tomorrow and we NEED the house to be super clean before he goes away. Some of the rooms in the house have NEVER been this clean!!

Kiddos all fine and dandy. Had a scary week of worrying if no.4 was on its way but VERY relieved that it is not!! Dh will be sleeping in the spare room from now on

Have a super busy week ahead this week as am helping a friend out with her design company whilst she is away on her hols as well doing some bits for our company whilst dh is away.. Think i will be getting a lot of early nights to hep cope with the busy days!!

SKYTVADDICT · 07/03/2010 21:11

AM - No 4 - really - bet you were a bit worried

DP gritting again - shouldn't complain as its money BUT it means I have to get into a cold bed.

Won't be going to bed yet anyway as have washing and drying to sort - hopefully not ironing though - depends how DD1s shirts come out of tumble drier - not something I like to be thinking about at this time on a Sunday night!

largeginandtonic · 08/03/2010 08:26

Sky hope C is ok now. You must will be busy today!! Good luck

AM glad the house is clean (it always is) you must be nervous about this week? LOL at no.4. You have a HUGE house and lot's of living space so it would be no bother would it

Sky we too are fuill of snot. The babies are miserable. I keep telling mine to bugger off.

TMAM well done to you on the Marathon. Good lord you must have been desperate for a break! I have no gossip really. Honest.

It could have had some serious gossip had i known who a few more people were

We needed the party to go on later and i am sure we wopuld have all started falling over a bit Being escorted off for Pizza was a shame. Lovely do though. I am so grateful to Rubyrubyruby who invited me.

It was bizzare to meet some people i had been cahtting to for almost 4 years. Odd, odd, odd.

Lord it is Monday again. Where are the weeks going!

OP posts:
JamInMyWellies · 08/03/2010 10:05

Have I missed something why is AM cleaning and painting walls like a madwoman. Is she hosting come dine with me?

Good luck today SKY. It will be a breeze.

Hope the house goes well Pebble.

LG&T been nosying at the MN party pics all very glam. Google canteen is quite swish, my little DSIS worked there and I used to take Archie to meet her for lunch the food is fab. She also used to fill the buggy with free chocolate before we left.

Pebblemum · 08/03/2010 23:14

We have a house
It ticked all the boxes immediately downstairs, apart from the old people smell lol. The rooms upstairs are odd shapes and it took a bit of imagination to see us all sleeping comfortably in them but we got there in the end. We have decided to split the biggest room into two seperate rooms which will give Jordan and Alana a room each size 5x11ft which isnt too bad. Me and dh will have the next biggest which is a strange L shape and then Ethan and Deacon will share the smallest which is still not a bad size at 9.6m2. The bathroom is twice the size of the one we have now, its a wet room ie no bath but we dont mind. The kitchen and utility room can be made into one if we want to, the lounge is a nice size and with a bit of work the garden will be lovely. It will still be a couple of weeks before we can move in as there is a bit of work the council need to do and then we reckon that we will need a week to do what we need to ie strip and paint the walls, lay carpets and build the partition so we are going to ask if its ok if we pay an extra weeks rent on this flat so we have time to do it all before we have to move furniture etc in otherwise it will be a nightmare.
The road it is in is lovely and peaceful (well until we move in lol) and so if after a year or so we decide to move there is a greater chance of getting an exchange than where we are now. I cant see us wanting to move though, not if the rooms work out as planned. There is so much that we can do to the house if we decide we are going to stay there long term.
Bloody dh though had me banging my head against the wall over whether to take it or not. Its a bit of a catch 22 situation, we could have turned it down in the hope of something bigger coming along and ended up with a load of rubbish or accept the house and miss out on somewhere amazing. I wanted him to give me his decision on whether he thought we should accept or not but he wouldnt commit, hence the aarghh!! on my facebook status. He was about as much use as a naked man at a lesbian convention. In the end ive decided its worth the risk and if he ever says he didnt want to take it, i may just have to kill him
