Hello all

I am lurking but finding no time to post/nothing to post about.

All going well here, house still tidyish after ofsted inspection.

C actually stood by Santa today which is a first. He is not at all keen bless him. He is so lovely at the moment and when we were putting the tree up he said "best christmas ever" over and over again. I think its from Peppa Pig or some such tv programme but still sweet.

Not long now PJ and Tils. Will keep lurking.

Hope all is going ok CM.

Hello again to everyone else x

TheGreatScootini · 09/12/2009 13:05

Lilys play was sooo sweet.Lily was upgraded at the last minute from sheep number 2 to sheep number 1 because the original sheep number 1 was having a crisis of confidence. She was on stage on her own first of all for ages doing a little dance before the other sheep had to come on.I couldnt have been prouder if she'd won an oscar.Naturally I sobbed like an idiot throughout.

Then I have been and had my eyebrows shaped and somehow the woman has contrived to make them look like Lucifers, (very thin and sort of sharply angled). So my appearance now borders on the satanic, which is NOT the look I was aiming for for my birthday nights out [angry.I beg of you.

Feeling a bit better today as had a little lie in as DH was here to help with the girls this morn.

How is everyone else?

Tillyscoutsmum · 09/12/2009 15:38

Happy 30th for tomorrow Scoot. Its my 35th on Friday - that's heading for 40 . Clearly we have made no plans other than for DH to get up with Til so I can have a lie in (assuming no baby by then obviously). Have an appointment with consultant tomorrow so am thinking they may confirm an induction date before xmas.....maybe...... hopefully.....

All these xmas plays sound lovely. It was dsd's this morning - dh took the video camera so I could see it but wasn't allowed to film it . Tils has got her play school one on the 18th so I'm hoping to be able to make that one.

TMAM - don't be gone too long

Great pics Mrs JB

SOH - how are you doing ?

TheGreatScootini · 09/12/2009 19:56

Hope they give you a date Tilly. Here, do you feel a bit like the Virgin Mary (except not the virgin but obv )You know-heavily preggers, festive season.Perhaps a ride on a donkey will convince the baby to come out?Are there any roundabouts that you could procure?

We were only allowed to take pictures at the end today for about 30 seconds.

I am up early tomorrow as am going to the cabinet war rooms in the morning (I know this is an odd way to spend half your 30th but I am a history geek afterall), then to Topshop with my coupons, then to the Langham with my best friend for afternoon champagne tea, then probably back to Toppers to finish looking round. Then home, unless I succumb and go and see New Moon again
Friday night Im going to see Little Boots.Saturday night is big night out, all of my friends are coming down and we are going to Lucky Voice then KoKo in Camden.

On Sunday Lily has two birthday parties to attend, back to back, starting at 11.30 am.I am NOT looking forward to them as I cant see me being in a fit state by then tbh!

SKYTVADDICT · 09/12/2009 21:06

Very proud of DD2. Year 5 are buddies to Reception and even though it is the Reception Nativity their Year 5 buddies are there to help and sing along and DD2 had a solo. She has gone to bed with a sore throat and feeling ill now bless her.

Happy Birthday for tomorrow Scoot and I hope you have a lovely time.

charleymouse · 10/12/2009 13:55

Oh bother,

Belated Happy Birthday Jam

Belated Happy 30th Birthday Scoot.

Sorry ladies have been crap at the mo. Think still may be hormonal, burst into tears this morning as DC just wouldn't get out of house on time even though up at 7:00.

H is being a dream, just been weighed and is now a strapping 7lb 9oz so 8oz gain in a week. We have both been discharged and now come under the remit of the HV. . DH is back at work and missing all the fun.

Right just the extra 3 stone to lose now then.

Hope you are all well. Love you all loads, TMAM, just sneak a peek now and then and don't stay away. SOH hope you are better. GIN have a baby you know you want to. TSM hope your consultant gets you what you need. PJ hope you are well, well done on A sleeping. MOI will have to peek at piccys later sounds like a fun time though. SKY how sweet, DS says "love you so much" to H it is tres cute. AM loving the outside lights we have an illuminated santa on the gate and will be having icicles on the fence when I get round to it, tacky moi? Nah. DS pulled the tree over on Sunday (trying to be helpful) and smashed a load of baubles. I blubbed like a baby, tis now tied back with string. Abby soon be the holidays do you get the lovely gifts from all your kids at school. What do teachers really want as thought we should get something but no idea what. Hi Elkie, hope you are well. Hello everyone else.

Just been asked what I am doing about contraception ha bloody ha. Although must confess to feeling ever so slightly broody and sad this is the last time I will be snuggling up with a new born. (honest).

Anyway have to go and tidy house squirt some polish into air or DH will think I have been sat around all day.

largeginandtonic · 10/12/2009 19:45

That is my trick CM! Hormones crashing i expect. Ride it out and calm down the activity as much a you can.

Happy Birthday Scoot!!! Have fun my lovely I bet Lills looked gorgeous.

Cute santa link! Will do it for Beau.

Have a Ball tomorrow. I may or may not fit in my dress...

TMAM hope you are ok x

Sky clever dd

Pink seeeeeeeeeeeeeee you

Tillyscoutsmum · 11/12/2009 20:39

Scoot - hope your head is not too sore today

Gin - enjoy your ball.

Charley - sorry to hear you're a bit tired and emotional. I remember being the same with Tils . Blardy hormones

No pre-xmas induction for me - 27th if nothing by then. Consultant also wants to test for gestational diabetes and thinks I should have been tested before but have "slipped through the net" Seems a bit pointless to me when I'm 39+3. They wanted me to go today but there was no chance I was spending my b'day pissing about with blood tests. Will go Monday if no baby.

hasthereindeergotlost · 11/12/2009 21:37

Gin has your secret santa turned up? I think Mrs Goggins may have pinched it.

TheGreatScootini · 12/12/2009 09:14

Happy birthday for yesterday Tills re the 27th..I guess you will at least get your Christmas lunch in, but it would've been lovely to have a new born under the tree..

Yuck yuck with the diabetes.I hope you dont have to do that vile glucose drink test.I had to do it twice and vommed both times.

Any word from SOH?

Have you tried on the frock ginner?I bought some spanx yesterday as have summararily failed to be a size 10 by the time I was 30.

Thanks for all the birthday messages and for my cards DH quite jealous as he only had about 6 for his birthday yesterday and I had tons

Had a lovely day on my birthday. My best friend took me to the Langham for afternoon tea and we drank champagne and were waited on.It was lush. Then had a little shop with my Toppers vouchers.
Last night we went to see Little Boots.Very good, but it was freezing and it takes an age to get home.

I still have a bastard of a cold but am trying to pep up as its our big night out tonight.Am off to have my hair blow dried in a bit.I might go for a departure and have it done wavy instead of straight.Oh decisions, decisions...

largeginandtonic · 12/12/2009 13:23

Scoot glad the birthday went well. Have loads more fun tonight on the big night out I bet you don't need Spanx. I wore mine yesterday! They are fab.

Tills i know it is crap waiting BUT just focus on the excitment. Think of the lovely baby and all the fuss everyone will make of you both. The baby might come early an surprise you too.

Mine are usually late but Bluebell was only 4 days late and i am SURE it is because i was having sex every day. Not what you want to hear i know. You must ahem y'know too. Obligatory.

Mrs Goggins always did look a bit shifty...

No parcel here.

SOH is ok, have been emailing her recently. She has new shoes

charleymouse · 14/12/2009 13:06

Hi ladies hope all well. Thought I would post my birth story for you.

Born at home on the 22 November, we had gone to Center Parcs for the last weekend away before the baby arrrives as a festive treat for the other two. I had indigestion all night on the Friday/Saturday and then my waters went whilst I was in bed at about 7:15 Saturday morning. I got up and pottered until 8:30 when I woke DH up and said get ready, my Mum is coming to look after the kids we are going home to have a baby.

I started having contractions whilst driving home (so didn't get on the motorway ) so just squeezed the steering wheel a bit.

When I got home FIL popped round for a cuppa and said shouldn't I be in bed so DH got rid of him and we settled down to have a baby. Not a lot happened. MW suggested I went for Group B swabs as waters gone but not in active labour, so off we trundled to hospital. Did the swabs, got booked in for induction on Tuesday 24th if baby not here by then and came home.

Had niggles but no obvious active labour. Tried walking quite briskly on DHs treadmill. MW popped round about 22:00 and said to call her if anything happened. Had a few contractions and they were starting to get regular but nothing really worth bothering about. Started taking the paracetamol and DH put the TENS on for me. I went to bed at about 11:30 to follow GINS instructions to nipple twiddle etc try and get some sleep but contractions woke me up about 02:20.

Got regular contractions and tried to doze on setee in between. At 5:00 woke up and felt shivery and dithery so phoned MW. She arrived at 5:20 whilst I was in loo so woke DH up. She asked if she could examine me and then contractions just went mad and came every couple of minutes. It took about 20 mins before I could let her check me over. Apparently I was 7 cm but could be stretched further. So relieved as had been panicking nothing was happening.

Basically I just sat on sofa drinking bachs rescue remedy and pressing boost on TENS machine until 7:00. Then I had to go to the loo. MW said baby crowning and other one followed her with tray of equipment. I then got off the loo and went back to sofa whilst MW1 held babies head in so as not to deliver on hard tiled floor. I knelt over the back of the sofa and could not help but push. DH pacing about at this point looking worried as he could see it was a bit uncomfy by this point. At 7:32 out she slithered and immediately started crying. (not sure if this was partly due to TENS machine falling off my top and landing on her head). I pulled her out the front and had a look to see what she was. She was very slippery and white with vernix. I tried to latch her on whilst turning round to sit down. Sat down and waited for cord to stop pulsing, I then cut it and went to loo where placenta was delivered intact. Went back to sofa and snuggled my newborn baby girl Harriet Elizabeth, 6lbs 15oz.

Unfortunately in the afternoon the MW came back and said swabs were positive for GBS so we were admitted for H to have IV antibiotics for 48 hours. This was due to me being GBS + and not delivering within 24 hrs after waters went. I did get the birth I wanted though after defying consultants wishes and having to have a risk assessment due to previous section. Thanks for everyones help in getting this and helping me stick to my guns.

H slept last night from 23:00 until 6:00 I tired to dream feed her around 2:00 ish but she was too sleepy so popped her back down and she sletp until 6:00. She did feed well constantly in the day yesterday though.

Hope you are all ready for Christmas. Only got cards to write/post and 3 christmas lunches to go to and one school play to attend tomorrow. GOt to do christmas food order as well, shucks anyone would think I have been busy.

Good luck PJ and Tils bumps will be here before you know it.

Ooh my Secret Santa is here I think obviously not opened it yet.

charleymouse · 14/12/2009 13:07

Oh my word did we go a whole day with no posts. Slipping ladies, we are slipping.

Tillyscoutsmum · 14/12/2009 14:45

Hey charley - great birth story

Very quiet on here atm. PJ has had her little boy (have a look at FB). I haven't . Been having sporadic contractions since Friday and lots of period pain, bloody show etc. Thought things were moving last night as contractions went from regular 10 mins to 3 mins apart and were bloody painful. Went into hospital at 6.30 am this morning (by which point they'd tailed off to about 5 mins) and..............bugger all Nada Rien . Midwife couldn't even find my cervix it was so posterior

So - am back home. Cx still there but back to sporadic (10 mins apart ish) but really painful. Much more than I ever remember them being with Tils

Ho Hum

Hi to everyone else xx

charleymouse · 14/12/2009 14:52

Oh sorry Tils, it will be soon I promise. Have to say H was more painful than A but assumed it was because my waters had gone and they did'nt go until really late with A. Get some paracetamol down you to put you on.

Off to check Facebook, did PJ have a VBAC or end up with a section? Sorry will go and find out.

Tillyscoutsmum · 14/12/2009 15:02

A very quick VBAC
