Thanks AM. Do you think I should try a few cheaper items first to get some "stars" on the feedback. I've got 100% as a buyer but don't want to scare off potential purchasers because I am a new seller ? I was thinking of perhaps listing 2 or 3 items initially and then doing a load more from there ?

Where is everyone ??

ShowOfHands · 04/12/2009 09:58

I have the plague. Send help.

I have completely lost my voice, can't stand up for dizziness and have the sorest throat. Tis the season to be ill.

Charley, J wasn't massively keen on M's name either at first but he loves it now.

AM, decorations up here too. The cats like them very much indeed. DH is planning on turning them into slippers. The cats, not the decorations.

Have read through, brill news on Ofstedding, walking babies etc. If I don't reply to you individually it's because I have the Black Death, my brain has lost higher function.

I'm an aunt again as of December 1st. My brother has had, well his wife has had, you know what I mean, another girl. Jude. I still can't see it as a girl's name but it's growing on me. Haven't met her yet as M has been poorly and now it's my turn. No plans to give it to the baby.

Oh bugger it all.

Is it Christmas yet?

Tillyscoutsmum · 04/12/2009 11:18

SOH - Not sure whether it will have spread as far as the wilds of Norfolk but it sounds very similar to a virus we've all had here. After a few days of dizziness and awful sore throat, it ended up with a week or so of face ache (or infection of the maxillary sinuses).

Blimey - how to cheer a poorly person up with joyous news, eh ?! Sorry

Our tree is up. It looks stunning (even if I do say so myself). I'm a bit anal about my xmas tree. It is colour co-ordinated with very expensive beautiful baubles which were very nearly the cause of marital breakdown when they were purchased a few years ago. Tils has made some xmas decs at playschool/toddler groups etc. but they are not black, white or silver and hence are not allowed on my xmas tree. DH thinks I am being ridiculous. I have offered to have a small alternative xmas tree elsewhere in the house for the tat other baubles. Can you imagine the responses if I put this on AIBU ??!

I just want to keep singing Hey Jude now. Presumably that was about a female Jude, no ? Talking of which, has anyone seen the Children in Need song thing with all the Nick Jr characters. It is brilliant. Tils and I rewind it about 10 times and dance away.

Anyhoo - as you can tell - I am slowly going insane.....

ShowOfHands · 04/12/2009 11:49

Hey Jude was written for Julian Lennon. Deffo a boy. Not familiar with the Children In Need song. Will google.

I used to be fussy about the Christmas tree too then I had M. It's delightful. Robins, snowmen, gaudy baubles, all hung haphazardly. I have such memories of my Mum shouting at us for doing it wrong and rearranging it after we'd decorated it that I let dd do what she wants with it. A small tree sounds a good compromise. DD has a little LED tree in her room that she is frighteningly attached to.

We've made paperchains this morning. Couldn't manage anything beyond that. Supposed to be making Christmas pudding but can't face it. My face already aches a bit, as well as my ears. Bleurgh. Better than at Christmas though.

Moijaimelacountry · 04/12/2009 12:03

Tils I am completely anal with you about the tree. I have mummys my tree in the lounge, the kids have a mini one each in of their bedrooms which they destroy decorate with their own crap baubles and school made items. They can do what the feck they like with them..... just don't expect me to put it on my tree.

SOH, hope you are all feeling better soon....nearly there, 21 days!!

Come on baby tils.

Take care xx

PS, AM was imagining things, I'm not like my Mum, although EVERYONE seems to be as dilusional as each other and say I am.

Tillyscoutsmum · 04/12/2009 12:33

Children in Need NickJr video

Themasterandmargaritas · 04/12/2009 15:24

I am so so disappointed in you all, with your colour coordinated baubles and expensive twinkly lights. Think of the damage you are doing to your poor children.

It's amazing just how far a virus can reach Tils, SOH, all are suffering from it here too. It's a global village.

Congratulations SOH, I like the name Jude.

We have the class pet hamster with us for the school holidays, oh my, oh my, the pressure not to kill the little bugger cutey. When we say hamster, I use the term lightly......

largeginandtonic · 04/12/2009 20:42

One of our 3 hamsters, fatty syrian Lavender Lucy is currently chewing her way out of the ridiculously overpriced cool Ovo trail house. We are investigating glass houses for her.

We also have a lizard arriving in the not too distant future. Jonah want's one for Father Christmas

SOH the plague sounds nasty. Poor you. It must be infuriating to not be able to see Jude (boy name btw). I bet she is super cute. M must be itching to see her, i know how fabulous she is with babies having seen her with Bluebell earlier this year. I bet she could scoop her up in to a great big cousin hug

Tell J he should make slippers out of the cat's. I am very allergic so they should be donated to the North Pole asap. What are their names? The slippers that is.

Tills it won't be long A lovely baby I was just thinking today how pregnant i was this time last year, it made me all warm andfuzzy till i remembered the SPD and vastness of my body

Still the baby is cute. And worth it. Oh they are soooooooooo worth it.

CM i have finally posted the wee baby present, sorry for the delay. I hope she likes it

We have the tree up. Not decorated yet. It smells like Xmas

Tills call him Rudolph. Please.

Pink where are you and have you taken the TV out of A's room yet??? Not long for you either chick. Which dress did you get in the end? Linky link please. Call me daft but i can't bring myself to buy a boy present yet. It might be pink (you too Tills )

ShowOfHands · 04/12/2009 21:18

Noon and Midnight, the slippers.

Have had a shite day. The plague got progressively worse as the day continued. Temperature rocketed, had the worst pain in my back and neglected poor dd. Couldn't stand long enough to cook properly so shoved cereal and biscuits at her, cried every time she tried to cuddle enthusiastically and basically was curled on the floor when dh got home with dd trashing the place.

One emergency appointment later, I have a kidney infection as well as the virus. So am pathethic. Whinging about an infection.

When will it stop hurting?

[pathetic]

ShowOfHands · 04/12/2009 21:20

Just phoned my Mum and cried because dh is at work 7am till 7pm tomorrow and I'm not sure I can do another day in pain with M going stir crazy. She's coming to get me in the morning, depositing me at her house for Dad to look after me and taking M out to see Jude and then to the park/shopping. Oh God I'm going to sleep all day. Bliss.

Tillyscoutsmum · 04/12/2009 21:55

SOH - Kidney infections are hell. I remember having one as a teenager and it was one of the most painful things ever. You poor thing Loads of water, cranberry juice, anti-b's and sleep and you'll be back to normal in no time. Have you got some decent painkillers to get you through the next few days ??

So glad your mum and dad are able to help you out tomorrow. Don't feel guilty about M - as you rightly said to me - pop her in front of CBeebies and she'll be absolutely fine.

Hope you feel better soon (((gentle, avoiding the kidney area, type hugs)))))

Gin - you sound broody

Themasterandmargaritas · 05/12/2009 04:32

Oh SOH a kidney infection, that's misery. No wonder you are feeling so very bad. Poor you. Thank goodness for your mum.

How is your SPD Tils?

J is really being very trying at the moment. He has a mind of his own, won't follow any requests, a huge amount of whingeing and that very annoying fake crying. Even ds1 said in the car 'I wish J would stop crying, I've really had enough'

Can you send over a cupboard please MrsJB? It'll have to be large mind....

Did you do your telethon by the way??

Themasterandmargaritas · 05/12/2009 04:36

Oh and Jam HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

Were the pearls and diamonds your birthday pressies or do you get more? Are you going out for a romantic meal tonight?

It's dh's birthday today too.

Tillyscoutsmum · 05/12/2009 09:34

Happy Birthday Jam xx (and Mr TMAM ) I've been having a recurring dream (does three times = recurring ??) that the baby would be born on 5th December but no signs of anything atm

SPD still bad but don't think its really getting any worse. Its fine if I sit around drinking hot chocolate and eating cakes all day but not so good if I try to do anything . I can cope much better with it knowing the end is in sight. Its when it kicked in at 22 weeks with the threat that it would get progressively worse that I started to really panic.

Sorry to hear J is being "special". Same here. Tils is just really clingy which is not like her. She clearly knows there are big changes afoot

largeginandtonic · 05/12/2009 12:22

Poor oyu SOH. A kidney infection is the worst Good news is with antibiotics it feels so much better withing 24hrs. Hopefully with the tlc and rest today you will feel right as rain in no time.

Tills oyu have to feed SPD. Did you not know that? Cake is best.

I am NOT broody. Not in the least really. Wait till she is 1, then the broodiness will kick in >

Blue is just staring at the now decorated tree but not touching. So far...

Happy Birthday Jammy!!!! You too MrMaster.

I am still in jammas and dd1 and ds3 have their Xmas fair at 2. DD is singing in the choir

Am out tonight, toddlers Xmas meal out. Ooooh get me with the social life

ShowOfHands · 05/12/2009 13:03

Happy birthday Jammy! And James Bond.

Am happily installed on my parents' sofa looking at two childhoods worth of Christmas decorations adorning the walls/curtain poles/door/shelves/clock. Tis tres festive. Tilda is off visiting her baby cousin, I have tea and water and enough painkillers to desensitise a baby elephant. My temp has reduced from furnace to pleasant Christmas blaze and that's made a huge difference to how I feel. I hate asking for help and am feeling very lazy but not guilty enough to try and Stand Up.

Commiserations on the whingy children. M was like that while poorly but otherwise is very compliant and permanently happy. I was almost stabbed by another mother in the supermarket the other day when M asked for sweets, I said perhaps another day and she chirped 'okay mummy, another day'. The woman was very cross with me. Honestly, I think she's just slow and hasn't realised The Power Of The Tantrum yet. I reckon maybe she's saving it up for one huge month long tantrum.

M is a great dr. Has been prodding me with her dr kit and saying 'hmm leukocytes [she was obviously listening at the drs last night], your kidneys are not happy, they don't like tea, they like milkshake'. She then administers many plasters and a soothing stroke of the brow before the whole thing starts again.

Broody Gin? One more maybe? And then one for me? I don't feel broody at all but then I wasn't broody when ttc M. I'm not very maternal. My own mother described me as the coldest person she knows recently. Just because I wasn't gushing over some baby or other that a woman was pushing past us in a pram. I wish I did yearn to have children, would make life much easier.

What's everybody having for Christmas then?

Moijaimelacountry · 06/12/2009 19:57

Happy Belated weekend b'days.

SOH, sounds terrible, glad you have some help though. for you.

Gin...Broody? Sooo worth it?

Tils, hang in there chick, really not long now. x

TMAM, cupboard in transit, may arrive by new year, can you cope for a while without?

Telethon was last night. Was brill but Zzzzzzzzzzz was 4am when I got in this morning. Watching the X-factor and then off to bed. Sylvie is in the process of whacking a load of photo's on to our site. I'll link them tomorow when they are on.

Can't type. Night

Tillyscoutsmum · 07/12/2009 16:31

SOH - any better ?? M does indeed sound like a great dr. Tils has a similar bedside manner. I particularly like the way she puts her face about a cm from mine whilst I'm being sick into the toilet and asks in a very concerned manner "Are you a bit sicky Mummy ?". Oh yes, the morning sickness is back to accompany the heartburn, spd, constipation, piles etc. etc. etc.

Moi - look forward to seeing telethon pics

Gin - Is Blue not one in like a month's time ?!

Themasterandmargaritas · 07/12/2009 17:37

How are you now SOH? I hope you are feeling a bit better.

I'm going AWOL for a bit. Good luck Tils and Pink with your last few weeks, I'll be thinking of you both.

Tillyscoutsmum · 07/12/2009 18:21

TMAM - you ok ??

JamInMyWellies · 07/12/2009 21:15

TMAM is all ok?

You are nearly there now preg. ladies. Few more weeks. I remember exactly what it was like Do you recall my uber whinging this time last yr?

SOH how are you feeling?

MOi cant wait to see your telethon pics.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. We had a lovely dinner in the evening and the boys both slept all night first full nights sleep I have had for weeks. Or I was too drunk and didnt hear them wake. Back to normal last night Lachlan woke 3 times and Archie was up for the day at 5.30 [sigh]

Have posted my secret santa.

Picked up my dress on Friday came home and put it on for DP he almost cried and said I looked regal am taking that as a compliment. Think he meant elegant, I hope.

Themasterandmargaritas · 08/12/2009 06:09

Everything is fine, just spending too much time on here that I should be spending with dc so am backing off a bit.

Moijaimelacountry · 08/12/2009 12:32

cowgirls all the way! Scroll down on that page, at the bottom you can click on: "cliquez ici" to view the picassa albums. The top one is the Téléthon.

TMAM, don't be too long, let us know how you are every so often please. xx

TheGreatScootini · 08/12/2009 20:13

Hi all,

Sorry you are feeling poorly SOH, wish you better soon.

Naturellment I have got the sore throat and temperature et al but for once I will bow to SOH's greater illness .I am off the rest of the week anyway so am aiming to rest up a bit (hahahaha) so as to be well for my big birthday weekend of fun.(DOOOOM, I REFUSE to be 30 on Thursday, I refuse I tell you!)

Happy belated birthday Jammy

Our tree is up and trimmed-looks nice at the top-the bits I did, and erm, haphazard at the bottom-the bits the girls did.Still the whole effet is nicer than last year when decs were still be set off by the shag pile carpet and half stripped walls .

Lilys first school play tomorrow. She is wooly sheep number 2.I am already getting a lump in my throat so lord knows how I will make it through it.

There has been a huge barney between DH and his brother and their two sisters regarding the fact that they are still expecting MIL to mind their 4 kids after school despite FIL still being very ill.It really beggars belief. Will surely be a cheery Christmas anyway!

Righto will try and catchy up some..

TheGreatScootini · 08/12/2009 20:29

My new motor has also come AM..Although I think it will not be quite so posh as yours .Still is a bonus to finally have a car with more than one working windscreen wiper at last

I am trying to persuade DH into outside lights and possibly some kind of lawn ornament.Ours is one of only 3 houses on the street with nothing and I am quite of everyone elses tres gaudy frontages.DH is not budging. He's such a grinch.
