Hello, just popping in to say I'm still here. I will catch up properly later.

Star - Hope poor Q feels better soon.

Myjob - Yay! I wish I could get M to cut down on the bfing. She has gone back to new born feeding frequency. I am at a loss.

CSWS - DH has gone back to Nationwide for the third time!

M won't sleep, constantly wants to feed....I need a holiday from my children........ Wahhhhhhhhhhhh!

StarExpat · 17/11/2009 09:36

and sorry - obv my temp readings are in F not C. I can't be bothered at the moment to figure out the conversion. Even use an American thermometer.

I hope E feels better soon Ksal.
Maybe M is coming down with something 50ft?

I have 4 out of 16 absent today from my class.
Does dh work for nationwide 50ft? or did I miss something?

Star, poor Q. Does DH know to alternate the paracetamol and Ibuprofen? Also dont worry about Q swallowing any yuck stuff as it goes straight into his stomach and out the other end. Best place for it. Keep a window open and light layers is best for a temp that high.
When you call the doctor TELL him you want to be seen. Q may have Bronchiolitis (same as N) that can be very serious and often leads to hospitalisation. I am not trying to scare you but tell that to the GP who sounds shit by the way.

Aubergenie, calorie wise, at this age, you dont need to breast feed more than a few times a day, the rest is for comfort. (especially at night)It is recommended that over 12 months a pint of milk per day. As long a DS is getting enough fluids and eating normally then I wouldnt worry about not feeding during the day. Saying that if you want to feed then you feed.

50ft. Sounds like you are going to have to start getting tough with your little madam. Unless she is poorly of course.
When is your appointment at the hospital?
Hello everyone else.

W is better. Finally. He slept through until 6.30b last night. I bought a sleeping outfit. It is from Mothercare. 2.5tog zip up sleepsuit. They also do it in a cool christmas design but didn't have any in W size. I also found a lovely sleepsuit in BHS. So he is all snuggly warm at night now.

So am I myjob, so am I. I was begining to feel that horrible cloud settling on my shoulders again.
So has Ds finally settled down. I know that H seems to be a bit better now. Poor things. I think we forget how much it ruins their little worlds when a new baby arrives.

Yes thats true. I find when I am calm generally things go better. But then shouty mum comes back and it all goes to hell in a hand cart.

HMM, I have just read an article about Mood Mapping by Dr Liz Miller. It is a book written by a dr who has bipolar(I am not saying you have). The reason I mention it is because she has been drug free for 8 years. And seems to have the mood swings under control. It doesn't go into too much detail in the magazine but I thought I would mention it to you as you are having such trouble with your Meds. Ignore me if you like, I dont take offense easily

Pistachio, has your DH got some antibiotics for his sinusitis? Shortens the infection by at least 4 days IME. Does he get it alot? I had my sinus cavities cleaned out 2 years ago not a hint of a sinus infection since.

I presume that the gp doesn't want Q in the surgery in case it is swine flu that he has, so that he doesn't infect other already poorly or vulnerable people. Is there any way to tell the difference between sf and bronchiolitis ronshar?
I think I would phone the doctor, mention the bronch possibility, and tell them that you want a home visit, and if you don't get one you are taking him in to the surgery. Then it's their choice, but either way you get seen.
That temp is also high enough for febrile convulsions. Does anyone know what you should actually do if your child has these, aside from panic of course?!

M is asleep in her pushchair after throwing a wobbler in the park because I wouldn't let her eat mud and leaves. I am totally unreasonable obviously! I am struggling to keep up with this thread lately so sorry if I miss anyone. It's not intentional as I love you all.

Myjob - I suspect (and the HV agreed) that M isn't ready for cow's milk yet as she had the runs really badly! She has today started having oat milk (with the extra vits and calcium) but she won't have it instead of mummy milk. She has started a new way of asking for milk. She climbs on to my lap points to my boob and says "that" whilst nodding her head in an attempt to convince me. If I say "not now" she throws a wobbler, if I try to give her oat milk in a cup she will close the spout and throw the cup across the room. She is SUCH a little madam!

Star - Poor Q. If your GP is being shit, get tough. You're Q's mummy if you're not convinced about something your GP says question it. I hope he feels better soon and Ronshar is right. The best place for the phlegm is in his nappy and in the bin so the germs can't spread.

Pistachio - Poor DH and his sinuses. I get sinusitis pretty much every time I get a heavy cold. To be honest, the sound of having my sinuses drain sounds like heaven! Tell him to be careful not to blow his nose too hard or he could damage his ears too. Ouch. Hope you're feeling better today. It's funny how your body adapts to let you cope with interrupted sleep. Before M was born, if ds had woken me up in the night I would have been an evil dragon the next day!

Ronshar - I'm glad things are better with you. I know that horrible cloud on your shoulders feeling. I get that every year in the run up towards Christmas and ds's birthday when he starts to act-up! He's just started in the last few days & so have the threats to remove items from his Christmas list.... My appointment is on Thursday afternoon.

I was going to say, hop around panicking and trying to calm DH down would explode in a massive panic! But I think Myjob might be right.

I meant to say...... DH has gone back to work for Nationwide after hearing tales from his friends of £22k monthly bonuses. He saw £££££££ and wanted to go his spiritual home.

StarExpat · 17/11/2009 12:35

Thanks, though I will definitely mention that this afternoon.
Congrats of W sleeping through Snuggly sleepsuits are the best, aren't they?

myjob I hope N takes a nice long nap and you get to enjoy your time in peace!

Pistachio glad you're a bit better now.

CSWS - M is totally in love with Humzingers! She has been having one as a mid morning snack and loves them. So much so that today after finishing her apricot one she waddled off to the kitchen, opened the cupboard door, grabbed two more & brought them in for me to open! Obviously I didn't, I distracted her with a banana instead, which wasn't what she wanted and it got thrown across the living room.

Oh yes, M is pretty much walking all the time now, except in the park apparently......

StarExpat · 17/11/2009 13:08

Sounds like all the babies are moving around quite well now
50ft - Q does that head nodding thing, too! He'll point to something that he wants and nod nod nod it's so funny!
Or if you start eating something that he wants or offer it to him, he does the same. SO cute!

StarExpat · 17/11/2009 13:09

oh, but he doesn't say "that"
all he says is "da" and sometimes "mumumumumu" if he's really sad. and some weird gurgling noises.

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/11/2009 13:15

ds still isn't walking very much. He's one lazy boy!
