When are they supposed to go to the dentist??? I haven't taken Q yet. damn it. I knew I was missing something. I do brush his teeth really well!

Yes, I can't believe W's climbing abilities, either! Q is quite mobile and runs fast and can do quite a bit... but climbing... he'll need to lose some belly weight first

LOL at M sniffing out the biscuits!! Our kitchen is tiny, too. Never thought of putting food in lower ones, though. A good idea to put some of Q's snacks there!

Ronshar - a friend of mine dealing with an 11 year old now (boy) and I just canNOT imagine dealing with Q at that age!

btw I can't get on fb at work until after 3.30pm (or before 8.30am). but sorry HMM and Aubergenie for the mix up. I wasn't looking properly obviously.

50ftQueenie · 02/12/2009 11:04

They are meant to go 6 months after their first tooth appears Star. So for M that is when she's 17 months! Toothless

ronshar · 02/12/2009 11:06

50ft does M sit/stand there with the biggest smile as if to say "well yes I know I'm not supposed to be doing this but I am just so damn cute that you are going to give me a kiss anyway"? Thats what W does. This morning DH found him standing in the bottom draw of glass fronted tall cabinet thingy, in the hall way, W was laughing away even as DH dragged him out. Poor DH he has no clue how to deal with it.
When I figure out how to send pictures from my phone to facebook I will put up the picture I took yesterday of W on his way up to the top bunk of the girls beds!!

StarExpat · 02/12/2009 11:06

omg. I can't remember when Q got his first tooth now! I'll have to do some searching in my journal to find out. I'm sure I'm probably overdue for it.

So... how do they get them to sit in the chair, then? Or do they have special toddler dentists who chase them around the room?

ronshar · 02/12/2009 11:12

Star you dont need to worry. Just take Q with you and as long as you are calm etc he will be fine. Most dentist will not see a child properly until they are 3. Just make sure that when you and DH go to the dentist you take Q as well.

50ftQueenie · 02/12/2009 11:14

Star - I knew that would panic you. Don't worry too much. As I said, DS went to the dentist when he was 4 and his teeth are perfect. Call your dentist and find out what they say. Different dentists might have different views.

Ronshar - That is exactly what she does & it really helps that she has dimples. If she's doing the running away naughty thing, she won't make eye contact, she just runs off & when you chase her she giggles. The "but I'm so adorable" face is deployed most often at my mum's as she has no stair gate so M buggers off up stairs at every opportunity, unless we catch her first.

StarExpat · 02/12/2009 11:17

You're trying to kill me, aren't you, 50ft?

ronshar · 02/12/2009 11:18

Yep W has Grandma wrapped firmly around his finger. He is allowed to do whatever he likes. Little monkey knows this and takes full advantage. Considering we live in a bungalow he disapears up the stairs in seconds at my mums. Turn your back for one second and he has gone!

ronshar · 02/12/2009 11:20

50ft dont tell Star about the best thing a boy will do. You know the thing with the magazines Not sure if she is ready for that yet

Ekka · 02/12/2009 11:25

My sinuses are getting worse not better - have had this headache on & off for a week now & I'm curled up on the sofa now feeling awful & hoping the kids have really long naps.... Doesn't help that when I get a headache I'm always sick too....

I'm not looking forward to the "odour" that comes with all that. Yuck!

Ekka · 02/12/2009 11:45

Yup, olbas oil, vicks, sudafed, lemsip all-in-one, hot showers (not all at once of course!) Have booked a docs appt this pm to see if there is anything else to do cos I'm at my wits end.... Don't even want to get off the sofa to make lunch for the kids as i'll be sick again

If you're feeling sick Ekka, you must have really enjoyed my post about horrible teenage boys. Sorry! Yes, get to the doctor. If you've got an infection antibiotics might be the only way to go but they will make you feel so much better.

indeed Myjob.

ronshar · 02/12/2009 12:28

Ekka doctors now. You need antibiotics. I suffered for 4 years like that. Now no problems. Get it sorted out love.

StarExpat · 02/12/2009 12:37

magazines?
And 50ft you naughty girl! I wasn't allowed to spend time in teenage boys rooms. If boys came to my house even for a school project or to study, we had to "keep the door open and both feet on the floor at all times" and I wasn't allowed at boy's houses. So if I got partnered with a boy I had to have him over to my embarrassing house of rules!

StarExpat · 02/12/2009 12:38

Ekka - what ronshar said - go to the doctor. Or just call them and describe your symptoms. They will sometimes call in a prescription for you over the phone based on what you describe as it's same as seeing you sometimes iyswim.. or maybe that's just my incompetent doctor..

ronshar · 02/12/2009 12:46

Star DH has already got plans for any boy who comes near his little girls.
(Top shelf magazines)

50ft you couldnt be a midwife then. That is always the smell that used to invade my nostrils when I worked on maternity unit. Never in the theatre with c-sections mind you only vaginal births. Delightful

50ftQueenie · 02/12/2009 12:48

I was a naughty girl Star. DH and I went to school together so he knows this and it is part of the reason M is not going out until she is 21. Double

I've commented on FB Myjob. As I said, I am racking my brains. Ronshar.....!!!!!!

StarExpat · 02/12/2009 12:54

ronshar - ew!
Myjob - bring her to the doctor. I can't see the fb thing because I'm blocked for now but my advice is go to the doctor (as you probably predicted...) Poor N

ronshar · 02/12/2009 13:33

W has just cleared his highchair for me. By throwing it all on the floor. He is very pleased with that effort.
I am talking to Myjob.

StarExpat · 02/12/2009 13:36

Q does that, too ronshar. We now only give him a few pieces at a time. And he often prefers to eat standing up and walking around I know this is wrong of us to allow but he eats more this way.
