ugh!
that too, ronshar
not
that, too ronshar
sorry

ronshar · 02/12/2009 13:42

Star have you ever heard the phrase
"rod for your own back"?
As much as it gets on my nerves it is so very very true

StarExpat · 02/12/2009 13:43

So we should put him in the highchair?

pepperrabbit · 02/12/2009 13:57

I got bored cleaning the highchair so DD's been in a booster for a few months now. Just clean up all her mess at the same time as the 2 boys mess. Never underestimate my potential for laziness economical activity
All is calm here. I may even do some internet shopping...
I did my first Boden order the other day. After 4 years I may at last be a fully fledged MNer!
myjob - this is probably a stupid suggestion, but DS2 first chicken pox looked like that.

Or get a booster as per Pepper. I did try the booster but DH has a real issue with mess and food so W had to go back into the highchair.
I only say it because you need to get into the habit of Q understanding that food time means sit down. When he is older at nursery/school he will be expected to sit nicely and eat.

Pepper I too think like you
If my DDs could cook I would be laughing all the way to the sofa

ronshar - that's very true. I'll make him sit down again.
Your husband sounds lovely ("real issue with mess and food").

50ftQueenie · 02/12/2009 15:21

Ronshar and Pepper - We are looking forward to the day that DS can take dd down stairs in the morning, get her breakfast and keep her entertained while we sleep for a bit longer. Bliss.........

pepperrabbit · 02/12/2009 15:58

I remember how grown up I thought I was when my parents taught me how to boil the kettle and make a cup of tea...... then how exciting it was the first couple of times I brought them a cup of tea in bed on a saturday morning .
Now i realise their evil plan!

50ftQueenie · 02/12/2009 15:59

M just did something adorable. I was lying on the floor because my back was killing me from sitting cross-legged playing Fairyland and M decided to climb on my tummy. With a big grin on her face she said "cuddle" then dived on my face covering me in snot and gave me a big kiss. Awwww, bless her!

CantSleepWontSleep · 02/12/2009 17:25

We let dd eat not in her highchair, because she wouldn't eat anything in it (unless she was staring at the tv ). She is still a pain to get to sit down for meals. Except at school, where she is of course an angel .

I thought chickenpox too, although unusual for it to start there I think - is it still the only spot?

Um, can't remember anything else.

Dd now in meltdown mode as predicted after taking hours to settle to sleep last night. Joy.

M can say "cuddle" ?! WOW!

50ftQueenie · 02/12/2009 19:46

M said cuddle. I don't know if it is going to be a regular thing yet! DS did that, say a new word once, then he wouldn't say it again for ages. On a regular basis she says: Hello, no, yes, miw (for milk), foo (for food), dwin (for drink), up, down, Dada, boo boo (that's M ) and uh oh (when she falls over or knocks something down). I am sure there is another everyday word but I can't remember now [bad mother]. Oh yeah - that and look feature lots when we are out.

aubergenie · 02/12/2009 20:06

I wondered about chicken pox too Myjob. Hope it goes away soon.

Lol at "both feet on the floor at all times" Star.

I'm exhausted and think I'll pop off to bed. Those of you participating, can you all wait until the morning to find out who your secret santa person is?

50ftQueenie · 02/12/2009 20:07

I can indeed Aubergenie - get off to bed.

StarExpat · 02/12/2009 20:13

Wow, clever M!!
I call Q "boo" too, not sure why! and doodle, doodles, doodle-doo bubble, bubbles. But "boo" happens most often from me.

50ftQueenie · 02/12/2009 20:21

The weird thing is that it happened all at once Star! She's been saying Dada, yes, no and that for a while, but the rest have been in the last couple of weeks!

jenwa · 02/12/2009 20:23

Hi all

Sorry been busy here. Poorly dd1 and very poorly dog who has so far costed us nearly £3000!!!!!! and the tumour is not yer out I am soooo as I dont know what to do and I hate thinking she wont be around if things get worse. DD1 is sad too

50ft I had a hernia when I was 5!

So sorry, I have read but my mind is boggled today with everything.

myjob hope N is ok and no more blisters, did look and seem like one that has been rubbed against something.

StarExpat · 02/12/2009 20:26

We thought we heard Q very clearly say "UP" tonight when DH got home.
he said "mamamama" in the car (1st time really - he's said it a bit but by fluke iyswim). I think he wanted "more" though because I was passing him back organix carrot sticks.

PoorDD1 and puppy jenwa I hope t hings get better for you soon.

Q has started going into a corner or behind a curtain at my friend's house to poo .

Jenwa - So sorry you're going through this with your dog, especially as dd is upset too. Must make it doubly hard to make any rational decisions.

Pistachio - I have no idea about the chattiness. I think Jenwa's P is the chattiest. I think she had a ten word vocab before she was one! I remember that feeling you get from exercise. Alas, I am so unfit these days it will take a while to get back there. I used to be so hyper I would be bouncing off the walls when I got home. Glad the dc were good for your DH.

ronshar · 02/12/2009 21:06

Star you would get on very well with DH. I do sometimes encourage W to get extra messy just to see DH face fall at the table. He gets really uncomfortable with the whole BLW. He wants him to use spoon and not drop any food. Like thats going to happen.

Jenwa. How horrible for your family. We lost one of our cats last year. We still miss him now.

Pistachio. I know exactly what you mean. I even put my weights up a little last night.

Spooks is on.
