X-post CSWS! HAve you been to docs re gallstones?

CantSleepWontSleep · 27/11/2009 19:49

GP reckoned that we didn't need to do anything except monitor and see how it went, rather than have surgery for the sake of it.
I phoned midwife today rather than GP, as nothing he can do at the moment.

StarExpat · 27/11/2009 19:54

oh csws Have you been to the dr? Can you take anything while pg? You poor thing!

I hope you and poppy and dh feel better, HMM.

Happy reading, pistachio.

Q got to see his cousin in America on skype tonight We have to get a new webcam though and skype again tomorrow so they can see Q as well since ours died (serves us right as it was 4 pounds!)

StarExpat · 27/11/2009 19:55

sorry xpost csws. I hope they don't get worse and that they go away soon!

50ftQueenie · 27/11/2009 20:05

Ouch CSWS! I would have thought an ectopic would have caused you more problems by this stage. Sounds bloody nasty though. I am selling a couple of DS's old bits, some of M's unworn bits and a pair of my unworn shoes (which have been bought!!!!).

Oh God, I'm watching The Restaurant from last night. It's soooooooo embarrassing! DH is watching from behind his hands!

Pistachio - I hope I didn't offend you on FB earlier. I didn't really put across what I meant very well. Oh dear!

aubergenie · 27/11/2009 20:12

CSWS - Ouch. Really hope you feel better soon.

Very busy day here. I'm tired (but nothing compared with you CSWS). Went out last night and didn't go to bed till about midnight. And I had a tiny bit too much wine... Of course S decided to have one of his more restless nights.

I've just started to watch The Restaurant as well. Don't tell me what happens yet!

Thank goodness Pistachio. I am such a worrier. I am often very good at putting my foot in it. I was once discussing baby names with my friend and said that I wouldn't want something boring like John, then I suddenly remembered that my friend John was standing just behind me. Oops!

I've done that. I was talking with a friend with a baby and some others were there (I had forgotten about them momentarily!) and I said well why wouldn't anyone want their newborn to sleep at least in their room with them? Remembering half way through the sentence that one of the other moms there was dead against having her baby in the same room as anyone to sleep. Like pistachio I was saying "stop talking!" But I couldn't! So I kept going and tried to recover, but ended up being more offensive. I said something like, well if you're not breastfeeding then I guess it's not as big of a deal to get up and go into another room... as if that matters... I was seriously just digging myself a hole

CantSleepWontSleep · 27/11/2009 21:57

On the subject of putting your foot in it star - I've just deleted your comment from fb. It's hush hush on there at the moment .

Contemplating A&E for my gall bladder at the moment. In soooo much pain. But scared of surgery whilst pregnant.

OP posts:
StarExpat · 29/11/2009 08:41

Drs are able to do surgery while pg now and won't do it if dangerous, surely? right? CSWS you should definitely GO if you are in that much pain. Am I wrong in thinking that if this gets a lot worse that it could make things worse for the pregnancy? Please go get advice on this and go to the A&E if you're in that much pain

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/11/2009 08:43

There's always a risk with surgery star, however small. Found some stuff in the archives on here suggesting that the best time to have if needed is just after end of first trimester. Not sure what that would mean for the next couple of weeks.

OP posts:
50ftQueenie · 29/11/2009 08:45

Oh CSWS . How scary for you. Agree with Star, you should go to A&E if you're in that much pain. You really shouldn't just put up with it.

I think I might be off to the hospital too! I think I have burst my internal stitches. The other day I felt something akin to a rip, but dismissed it as my imagination. Now my lower belly is very bulgy (not too many pies bulgy, weird bulgy) and makes a horrible squelching sound/sensation if I press it. Not a good sign. Ronshar..... if you're there could this be what has happened? It's 4 months since my op so can I really have torn my insides?

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/11/2009 08:51

Oh for you too 50ft.
I'm going to soak in the bath for a bit, and then if no better I will go to A&E. Dh will take dc swimming with friends as planned. Am sure they would happily take dd home with them afterwards if dh needed to come up to hospital (with ds) for any reason.
At least I'll escape from dd's bound to be hideous mood for a bit. She was still getting out of bed at 9pm last night, and got up at 6 this morning .

OP posts:
StarExpat · 29/11/2009 08:55

oh goodness 50ft and csws So sorry to hear that from both of you!
csws, I hope they can do something for you until the end of first trimester. How many weeks are you? Aren't you close?
When my sister had her gall bladder out it was laser surgery (? no clue what I'm talking about) would that sort of surgery make it less intrusive to where the baby is? Or is it about the GA? Could they just locally anaesthetize? Ronshar?
sorry, I'm talking with no experience or factual knowledge whatsoever. I just want you to get it sorted so you can enjoy your 3 year old, 1 year old and one in your belly without being even more exhausted than you already are.
