Snot So he hasn't not got the job yet right? There may be plenty going on in his favour that he doesn't know about, maybe the competition was crap, maybe his salary expectations are way lower than everyone else, maybe time is their priority. Fingers crossed for him.

Steaky Tough night by the sound of it, I tend to resort to Calpol at times like that, those are also the times when I can see why people do extended BFing.

Well we've cancelled the delayed flooring and are buying the cheaper and just as nice stuff we had at our old house. Designwise it's not the dream but nobody else will know that so who cares. Means we'll have the room floored on Thurs and some appliances and units in on Friday. Maybe even a worktop on Saturday yippee!

Me and DH got a free pass last night and went to DD's parent evening (no worries there, she's calmed down loads now) then to uke jam together for the first time. It all made us quite loved up and cuddly but then I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.

BucketsOfBlood · 10/11/2009 11:29

Oh, here's a tray of cappuccinos from McD's drive-thru - surprisingly tasty and only £1.39. Don't know what I would have done over the last 15m if it hadn't have been for drive-thru - when you've no food in the house and 3 hungry kids to unpack it's a lifesaver. Many people expect me to have anti-McD ethics for some reason (goes with the real nappies maybe?) but my love for the Sausage McMuffin goes way too deep. Have now convinced the big 2 that they must have fruit bags instead of chips in their Happy Meals though - can I have the FPG tiara please?

PoinsettiaBouquets · 10/11/2009 11:36

Christmas name change! Do you know, this was my name when I first joined this gang 2yrs ago? Iirc I was doing carework and changing adult nappies at the time, visiting the smelliest homes and walking quite a bit. Couldn't have got through it without you guys.

Does anyone fancy doing Secret Santas this year? Maybe a home-made theme in honour of the credit crunch? Or not, given many of us are back at work and don't have the time?

PoinsettiaBouquets · 10/11/2009 11:37

Flippin ell I need to stay off the coffeee

luckoftheirish · 10/11/2009 12:56

cyteen · 10/11/2009 12:59

I'm up for secret santa, was going to suggest it myself but obviously forgot was caught up in doing my many important RL bits of work.

Feeling a bit made of fail today, even though I laid in till 8am thanks to lovely DP. DS is going through another food-throwing stage which is v tiresome, although he will then eat it off the floor so I've just left today's lunch lying around

cyteen · 10/11/2009 13:01

I like that flooring PB. Very nice. One day we'll have a kitchen floor that isn't made of murderous freezing slate. Thank god for new furry boot slippers, at last I can go in the kitchen without feeling like my soul is being sucked out through my feet.

miamla · 10/11/2009 13:04

I'd be up for a secret santa thing

Btw,I'm not here, I'm very busy working
Sorry to not comment about what anyone's written,I've read it all but I'm having trouble working out who wrote what!

Why has my BB started hiding the poster's names?!

miamla · 10/11/2009 13:08

Oooh forgot to ask...who wants to help me find a couple of outfits? Dp's got two work dos for christmas..one is drinks in boss' penthouse the other is at a VERY swanky restaurant in town

PoinsettiaBouquets · 10/11/2009 13:50

Miamla Always interesting bargains here. I love this shop.

Cyteen LOL at Dementor floor.

luckoftheirish · 10/11/2009 15:28

ffs.. its like taking one step forward and two steps back...

it appears that dd2 now has a poorly ear and a poorly eye.. off to the docs in a bit and collected dd1 from nursery early... when is the house of doom going to cease?

CaptainCaveman · 10/11/2009 16:41

oooh yes please secret santa

I'm frigging freezing, need to go put the heating on

lwfhthevampireslayer · 10/11/2009 17:02

hello everyone,

DS has been walking for about a week now and it is amazing the change that it has made in how happy he is to play alone for a few minutes, the problem being that he can head to danger much more rapidly. Still head in the sand about what is going to happen with the new baby, but packed our hospital bags (me, breastpump and paraphenalia, DS in case he needs to go away and stay with my inlaws or with us in hospital for a night and the new baby) so we are making progress.

Sorry to hear about stressful nappy stuff Sazzles. No advice but I do remember when I was potty trained (so I guess that I must have been quite old) - I had pants on under my nappy. What an odd early memory. Anyway, would this be a compromise for your DD? (grown up pants but still in a nappy).

Had a lovely week here as DS's godmother came to visit again. We didn't do anything special but had a very nice time together.

Ah, it appears that DS has had a week of development and has also learned how to climb onto the coffee table. Must go ...

AnnVan · 10/11/2009 18:00

Hi ladies.
hope all are doing ok.
snot am keeping fingers crossed for your dh
steaky when is boy mansteak coming to visit?

steaknife · 10/11/2009 18:20

Gah - four pages to catch up on - not sure that is going to happen as I have to drink wine finish hidying tidying, deforest my legs, drink wine, wash me, wash the floor, have dinner, drink wine, make up the spare bed, finish sewing DD's new pinafore, drink wine.

Mansteak is arriving tomorrow.

steaknife · 10/11/2009 18:21

I too am a yes for secret santa.

Miamla what is your frock budget? Will one frock do for both doos? Or do you need two?

cyteen · 10/11/2009 18:24

miamla someone on another forum recently had a posh dress crisis and ended up getting a really gorgeous looking purple mini frock from New Look for about £20. She also got a pair of silver heels for a tenner, and apparently drew compliments all night

Just reading your to-do list makes me feel tired steak. I am on me todd tonight as DP is at band practice, so shortly to start the ritual of bath and bed. DS has been intermittently moany and lovely again, was an angel at the dentist though so can't complain. I left with £200 worth of work lined up My teeth are shit.

oopsandbabycoconut · 10/11/2009 18:29

Evening

Steaky - SIT DOWN please you have tired me out.

Miamla - I can't help as I can't even dress myself.

Secret Santa - Yes, I'm in.

steaknife · 10/11/2009 18:30

M this dress is in the window of our local Dotty Ps. The colour is fab and I think the sleeves are very pretty. I think it is also the kind of thing you could vamp up or tone down.

But stretch isn't everyones idea of a flattering dress and where the hem is is a big decider as to whether it is trashy or vampy.

also pretty

oopsandbabycoconut · 10/11/2009 18:31

Steaky - I just found they do jumpsuits who in their right mind?????

steaknife · 10/11/2009 19:10

That is very wrong indeed.
And you know how chains stock according to the locals - well our DPs is horrid.
It is all hooker shoes and bad lycra.
The new look is just as bad. tis rather scary, I walk past and promise DD to protect her from Fugly shoes and clothes.

There is nothing classy in this town, I particularly hate these at the moment. euw - though fine for indoors and dementor kitchen floors.

steaknife · 10/11/2009 19:13

Not just a nod to the 80s, reckon they just reissued an old style.

alittlebitshy · 10/11/2009 19:22

btw yes to secret santa (though not home made. I am not at all crafyy. ds is craftier than me [hm]).

oopsandbabycoconut · 10/11/2009 19:42

Steaky - Oh how I wanted one of those all the slapperish cool girls had them.

SazZaVoom · 10/11/2009 19:49

LOL my sister had that exact jumper

Off for tea, hope to be back later but wireless internet is driving me up the wall as it is the speed of a snail, so have come down to the plugged in version

LWFH - she was ok with the nappy and still got up in the night to pee. This morning she was cuddling said nappy with her muzzy. Bit of a battle again this evening but fingers x'd. I think you can get 'nappy pants' (as opposed to pull ups) which i think are a bit more grown up so i will look out for some if she gets really unhappy about it

Yes to Santa BTW........
