evening all...

yes steaky please sit down and pass the wine ..

yes to secret santa ...

well now both dds have ear infections and o anti biotics.. dd2 first ever ... didn't think ear infectios were catching ..

reckon i need to start a holiday alone fund.....

why oh why can i never remember what people have posted.. sorry for not being with it at all...

PoinsettiaBouquets · 10/11/2009 20:22

OK everyone FB me re Secret Santa and I'll sort it out.

Sazz Why not just go wih it, she might be ready? DD was dry by day within 2wks of her 2nd birthday and dry by night within a few months. Invest in a waterproof undersheet, a spare fitted sheet and lay an old towel inbetween? By day, an old terry nappy on a Tesco bag in the pushchair/carseat will catch all.

I'm off to bed with the new Terry Pratchett in a mo. Bored of being awake and thinking about bloody kitchens.

PoinsettiaBouquets · 10/11/2009 20:23

So you can imagine how frustrating it was for me to have DS1 in nappies at 4yrs old!

dizzydixies · 10/11/2009 20:27

hello how are we all?

SazZaVoom · 10/11/2009 20:31

Buckets - we did go for it day and night a few months ago. Days are fine. No probs at all, she just takes herself off. Nights were ok to start with but she seemed to relapse and was wetting 3-4 times a week, sometimes twice a night. I have 2 sheets and 3 waterproof sheets on her bed, but sometimes she was getting the duvet and cover too. So i am going back to night nappies (encouraging her to get up and wee rather than just us the nappy) as i can;t keep doing so much washing

LOTI - poor dd's and poor you {{{get well vibes}}}

DDDDDDIIIIZZZZZYYYYYYYY - how are you?

AnnVan · 10/11/2009 20:42

aAAAAAAAAARGH!!!!
why WHY WHY will this boy not go to bed at a NORMAL time?! I'm so sick of not having any evening time. Try put him down at 8.30 pm and he's screaming his fecking head off. I need a break from this crap I really do - but I can't get one because DP doesn't get home before 9.30 pm these days, and DS doesn't go to bed till 11 pm (if I'm lucky)

dizzydixies · 10/11/2009 20:49

oh Ann what can we do? why don't you try telling up his daily routine and see if we can suggest something?

oops am well if a tad pooped - am just waiting on a more resonable hour (say 10pm) before I go to bed

sooooooooo, what have I missed then?!?!

steaknife · 10/11/2009 20:50

Ann screaming in stereo on the thread then. DD woke up around 8 ish and is screaming blue murder. Nothing actually wrong, apart from the fact she has got used to me cuddling her to sleep at naps and in the night. But annoyingly strangely enough goes off to sleep at bedtime with no bother.

At least it is now and not 3am. [small mercies emoticon]

steaknife · 10/11/2009 21:00

oh and my list was shortened to..

hidying
sweep floor (clean it tomorrow)
feed me
drink wine

And now that DD is awake I think the cleaning of me will have to wait too and the deforestation will be put on hold and a thick pair of tights put on.

Lets face it himself will not be wanting to get lucky this weekend so no need to bother with the legs. [sigh]

oopsandbabycoconut · 10/11/2009 21:03

AAAAARRRRGGGHHHH I think the treat screaming is catching - DD now up and yelling but I will give a little as she was coughing so calpol administered and cuddling with Papa until she clams down then back to bed!

AnnVan · 10/11/2009 21:08

Aargh sorry ladies, I spread the screaming bug
Ah Dizzy - won't bore you with the lack of routine.

steaknife · 10/11/2009 21:19

I think DD has gone off again.
So frustrating as I know she is teething, but her yelling is really about me not staying with her and taking her out of her cot. But I just can't do it every night, not by myself.

I am a little bit glad she woke earlier tonight as at least it has given me the chance to get her used to me just going in briefly and settling her rather than taking her out of her cot. So hopefully she will be easier to settle while mansteak is here.

I would be worrying that he would think I wasn't coping or that we would fall into our old bickering if she was up for several hours in the nights.

dizzydixies · 10/11/2009 21:23

Ann nothing boring about it at all, we might be able to help

fingers crossed they all go down

I got back at about 4pm, was shown DD2's swollen infected fingers and was at the Dr with her by 5.10pm so she is now on anti virals AND anti-biotics nice to be home and see them all though

oopsandbabycoconut · 10/11/2009 21:27

Poor DD2 Dizz - what happened to her fingers?

dizzydixies · 10/11/2009 21:39

not sure oops - they're now infected so we've been given anti-biotics for a bacterial infection which is what they think is causing a rash on her face too - we tried to give her a dose tonight and she went mental!!! tis going to be a long week of medicine in the Dixie house

oopsandbabycoconut · 10/11/2009 21:41

Hope she is better soon. Have you inhaled them all and hugged them to little mushy piles?

SazZaVoom · 10/11/2009 21:42

Can you inject the medicine into a chocolate button?

SazZaVoom · 10/11/2009 21:47

Ann I think you sound like you are ready to get tough . I would start by waking him at 7.30, brekker, play (preferably physical to tire out), lunch, nap (pushchair or cot) for at least an hour, play, dinner, bath, story & milk, bed 7.30pm. If DP is not getting home until late then there is no reason to keep Seb up so he sees Daddy. We are all here to help you through the first days of a new regime, but you need to decide how your day is going to pan out and really go for it. We will be cheering you on

Steaky - well done on the minimal interference settling and good luck with deforestation

dizzydixies · 10/11/2009 21:58

Sazz its bright pink and putrid so I think not even a chocolate button would cope with it - apparently they've been eating a whack loads of sweeties AND I'm having to de-FIL the house however they've all still got 10 fingers and 10 toes so its a good start

SazZaVoom · 10/11/2009 22:03

Ah, that'll require a jam doughnut then

dizzydixies · 10/11/2009 22:27
Grin
steaknife · 10/11/2009 22:30

hmmmm donuts

So it really doesn't matter that I haven't made fresh pasta, smoothified my legs, wiped the tea marks from the shelves, organised all the bits and bobs piled on my new shelves in the spare room, finished the loose covers, got a bedstead in my room, etc etc etc.

Mansteak won't actually notice and if he does and if he judges it doesn't matter cos he chose not to be in a position to be worried by such things.

can you tell I am a bit on edge over this?

SazZaVoom · 10/11/2009 22:30

I'm just really

Offski to bed for me as flying solo tonight on the wee/scream combo my two have developed

Night all

Where is No1 BTW? Not seen her loveliness around for a bit
