Winibaghoul · 08/11/2009 13:10

hi ladies.
I have been lost in fantasising looking at wedding dresses I've found a few gorgeous ones, but how lovely is this?

Winibaghoul · 08/11/2009 13:10

ck, the one I was referring to was the one called 'camille'

CaptainCaveman · 08/11/2009 13:21

ann that's gorgeous , very pretty and stylish too .

miamla O was crapping himself about the fireworks, the noises really scared him to the point where he was shaking and screaming. He saw ds1 and I light a sparkler last night (or a sprinkler as T calls them), and started screaming. Poor fella.

hotpot sympathies with grumpy kids. Ds1 has very definately got his naughty pants on today as he won't stop being annoying/irritating/hassling his brother etc etc. Good job I love him, or he'd be out in the shed by now....

Am a bit bored....

miamla · 08/11/2009 15:48

Dp's idiot friend here again today. i'm soooo pleased he's seeing someone who lives close to us. its soooo lovely seeing him so much more
i'm not having a great day at all. On top of idiot friend being here, mum's just phoned to say we need to change christmas plans. original plan was that pil stay with us and we all spend the afternoon (and big meal) at mum's. apparently sister is wiinding mum up and complaining that she wants to stay in her pyjamas on christmas day and she can't do that if pil are there. so mum has told us she'll see us on boxing day (if pil have gone home) FFS I cooked for everyone last year (pil,mum,2bros,sis,dp) and when i said i didn't want to do it again this year mum invited us all to hers. i then asked pil if they'd like to go to mum's. they said yes. What am i meant to do now? i pointed out to mum that it was her house and she should stand up to my sister. mum then said that bros wouldn't be happy about it either and she doesn't like being stuck in the middle

right, idiot friend still here so i'm taking DS for a walk

any advice re what i'm meant to do with my family would be appreciated

hotterpotter · 08/11/2009 17:55

Miamla that is shit So you have to miss out on your family Christmas just because your sister wants to keep her pyjamas on??? Could you buy her a decent pair for her Christmas present then she could keep them on all day if she wanted? I know that different people have different ideas about how they prefer to celebrate Christmas - hence all the upset and 1001 threads on here, but I have to say that the one time me and my sister spent Christmas on our own it was really shit. We had been looking forward to it for ages, getting up when we wanted, no hassle, getting drunk, watching what we wanted on telly etc etc but when it actually came to Christmas day it was really boring and not like Christmas at all. I wonder if your sister has thought about it properly. Surely they'll want to see your DS and make a fuss of him? Hope they see sense

Ann nice frock. Is there something you actually forgot to tell us though?

cece hope you found something fun to do today My DS was actually not a bit bothered by the fireworks, I must admit I was quite surprised, although they were a bit rubbish and not really loud so maybe that's why.

Sazz hope you are having a lovely time with your friends I have made another pile of stuff to put on ebay so please keep kicking me until I actually list it all

Cyteen hope you're recovered and not feeling rubbish anymore.

We have had a boring but productive day sorting out crap upstairs. Our bedroom looks a bit less like a tip now and I can get to my side of the bed without clambering over boxes, hurrah. The loft floor will be groaning under all that weight now though

cyteen · 08/11/2009 19:07

miamla just tell your sister to grow the fuck up and start thinking like an adult for a change. Life is all about compromise and since you cooked for everyone while parenting a 5mo baby last year, your word should carry more sway.

Am in fighting mood because today has been a catalogue of crap, quite literally. DP is worn out and ill. DS is teething, or ill, or teething and ill, so has (a) refused to have his afternoon nap, (b) whinged all afternoon as a result, and (c) has produced an endless stream of the most revoltingly acidic-smelling splattery poos imaginable. We went out for lunch and had shit food that cost too much money, although I got the chips for free after pointing out how vile they were; then I made that lamb stew that was recipe of the week on here a while back, only to discover that it's not that great and I actually still don't like lamb after all.

Pah.

BucketsOfBlood · 08/11/2009 20:27

Heyup, just popping in to say what huge fun the heavy metal karaoke was!!!! My old highschool sweetheart is the compere and introduced me as his first girlfriend on my way up to the stage, then someone shouted out 'will you be my first girlfriend?' Ex says I looked super hot (bless him) so mission accomplished. I deliberately didn't ask anyone what the singing sounded like, think there was some definite tuning issues and a lot of missed cues!

Miamla How old is your sister? Is she not likely to change her mind by Christmas day? Might she pull before then and plans be changed? And are you 100% sure it's not your mum who's changed her mind and too chicken/shy to admit it?

Will catch up tomorrow once kids at school.

miamla · 08/11/2009 22:08

buckets... it would seem you're spot on! DP spoke to sis and she doesn't know what mum's going on about! bloody families. so yes, its my mum who has changed her mind

Snotrocket · 09/11/2009 01:28

Buckets glad you had a great time at the karaoke.

Cyteen here's to a better day today.

Oops that's a shame but lucky you are going business and get to use the lounges in Dubai - otherwise it's just too busy especially with LOs.

Miamla hope you'll be having words with your Mum. Why do you think she's changed her mind - is it the prospect of cooking for so many - if so surely you, Dsis, MIL etc will be on hand to help out anyway?

DH has his interview this afternoon at 4pm via video conference with some senior bods in London. Fingers and everything else crossed it goes well. He admitted that now he's got this far he'll be gutted if he doesn't get it even though he didn't even expect to get this far this year IYSWIM.

SazZaVoom · 09/11/2009 06:40

morning

Snotrocket · 09/11/2009 06:47

Another early start Sazz? Twas 5.30 for me - still an improvement on 5am the 2 previous nights!

SazZaVoom · 09/11/2009 07:03

Hiya Snot - yes 5.30 wake from DD1 wetting the bed, just got her settled, then she needed a poo , then DD1 up at 6.20.

We have visitors so had to get up with DD2 before she woke everyone else (who are all happily snoozing )

Good luck to RocketMan this avo - sounds like he is doing really well

miamla I will not comment on trying to keep all the family happy and failing at Xmas, otherwise i might not shut up!

Just been brought another book to read. BRB

oopsandbabycoconut · 09/11/2009 08:38

Morning

DD slept until 7.50 which sounds wonderful if you discount the fact that she was awake from 3.30 to 6 with the general whingies. She wanted a comfort BF but kept latching on and off and yelling 'where Papa' I nearly took her to Papa in the spare room! I am exhausted and DH was on an early call so dissapeared as soon as we got up. MIL won't can't have DD as she is too busy 'working' today, even though DH said she is not needed in the office today.

It is horrible and foggy here so I think an morning in then out to swim this afternoon is today's plan.

hotterpotter · 09/11/2009 08:38

Sorry to hear of these early-rising gits children. We had a 7.45am start today but think we paid for it by DS only napping for 20 minutes yesterday

Sazz are you going to keep going with DD1 out of nappies at night? I thinks she is doing pretty well? Still it must be tempting when you are up stripping beds in the middle of the night.

snot is that 4pm your time or our time? I'm guessing yours which means he's in the interview now????? Good luck bigbogie

hotterpotter · 09/11/2009 08:42

Morning oops, it was all misty in the cemetery over the road earlier, very autumnal, and now it's lovely and sunny (and bloody cold). Hope the sunshine is on its way down to you.

We are waiting for the Tesco man to come in his big van and bring us something to eat . Well actually the DC are having jam on bread in a minute but I am not allowed bread on a school day!

oopsandbabycoconut · 09/11/2009 08:47

oooh HP jam on bread sounds good - I have a fresh jar of homemade Damson jam sitting here. DD having weetabix on the sofa watching Peppa Pig! Can you tell what kind of day it is going to be?

hotterpotter · 09/11/2009 09:03

They are having graggy's home-made raspberry and loganberry jam. Think it's good going by the rate they shovel it in

Peppa pig sounds fun and I half wish we watched it too but I am still in the 'no telly during the day' camp when it comes to the DC. They watch 1 or 2 hours in the evening, depending on how tired/whiney DD is after nursery but that's it. Am I making life too hard for myself????

Still no Tesco. Less than 2 hours before they have to be here...

oopsandbabycoconut · 09/11/2009 09:08

We normally have a no daytime telly rule here but today I can't deal with the miserable moaning and groaning as she sits in the middle of the floor with her muzzy in her mouth and I try very hard to keep my brekkie down.

Great now we have snot! today will be fun.

hotterpotter · 09/11/2009 09:11

Of course when you are pg you need all the extra help you can get

cyteen · 09/11/2009 09:15

Telly is on here, life's too short to worry about a bit of Cbeebies tbh. DS still streaming with fluoro-gunge, alternating between lovely and moany. He was crying in his sleep on and off all night and got up at 5.30 for the third morning in a row I thought dark winter mornings had put paid to all this! [mug]

Good luck MrSnot, I'm sure you'll knock em dead.

Am girding myself to leave the house in a bit, I have to go and meet someone from work about this fucking project that has been dumped on given to me. She'll enjoy outlining the project plan to a frazzled mum with snot on her shoulder and a yelling toddler on one arm, I'll bet.

hotterpotter · 09/11/2009 09:19

Oh and she might not be allowed to watch telly but I am definitely cutting off my own nose there because now she is whining to play on the computer and I don't think I can put her off much longer

Suppose I ought to go and play with DS anyway as he is trying to climb on the windowsill again He has started climbing on the table too so we have to remember to keep the chairs at least 3 feet away, but then he can climb on DD's trip-trap-style chair On Friday he climbed up then fell off face first so has a massive egg on his forehead again.

Laters

Snotrocket · 09/11/2009 10:11

Hi all. We have telly in the morning but not much after that.

DH called to say that the management and decision making (i.e. why he'd made certain career choices) went quite well but the technical part was pretty bad as the interviewer wouldn't let things drop and as he's fairly new to the role he's currently doing he had to admit that there were some things he didn't know. So I guess we'll have to see. He sounded really disappointed bless him plus he turns 35 on Thursday so think he's a bit down.

Been a rubbish day here as has poured his rain. DS won't eat his tea and I have to go to the gym later...

Winibaghoul · 09/11/2009 10:31

Morning ladies.
Sorry about my very self indulgent post yesterday. Honestly don't know what got into me this weekend. Was a tad obsessed overethusiastic methinks.
miamla aren't family wonderful. Your poor sister as well, being the scapegoat.
forgot what else I was going to say
DS still asleep upstairs.

luckoftheirish · 09/11/2009 10:39

morning ladies..

have no chance to catch up but hope all is well...

h is better thankfully after spending all day sat in bed ... dd1 now has an ear infection .. so the sleepless nights have continued... definitely think i need a mummy award after this weekend... hopefully the house of doom will recover quickly and everyone will start sleeping thru...

hope everyone has a good day, off now to catch up if dds let me!

hotterpotter · 09/11/2009 10:49

Still waiting for my breakfast
