Sazz great news on the fundraising.

Steaky glad you're getting over the trials of the last week even if it didn't go too well.

VG so pleased DS1 had such a good first day.

Albs no older sister here but DS loves my hairbrush and is always going to the basket where it is kept and picking it up and brushing his hair with it which I think must hurt a bit as it is a round one with the hard plastic bristles and his hair isn't exactly thick! He also loves brooms but is a big fan of Teletubbies which he generally watches with DH in the mornings when he gets up early with him - we had 'Lala' and 'Bees' long before 'Daddy'

DS was looking for Grandma and Grandad this morning as they left last night he kept coming up to me and saying 'magar gone' 'dagar gone' very cute!

Morning

Hi Miamla - Bye Miamla

LOTI - great news about the sleep, you must feel 100x better for it.

Snot - DS's language is amazing

Sazz - Fanatstic fundraising

DD slept well ish but was woken by the howling wind a number of times in the night but then slept until 7.30.

Hi - Steaky

QueenofDreams · 18/11/2009 09:34

Morning ladies
Sleepthrough night here again
As snot said the other day, I really wish I'd done this weeks ago.
LOTI good to hear you had a good one as well.
sazz well done on the fundraising..
hi miamla

dizzydixies · 18/11/2009 10:06

glad to hear of sleeping babies/successful fundraising etc etc

slept through here but still up at stupid o'clock girls now at CM so I'm going back to bed sorry but as I can't seem to sleep at night I might as well try during the day

snotexpectingsnow · 18/11/2009 11:15

loti and qod great news on the sleeping. DS just gone to bed he was really tired so not expecting a great night from him - think still side effects from the jabs.

Oops thanks - he really seems to have had an explosion when it comes to words considering I was only saying a couple of weeks ago that I thought he was quite a slow talker. He's now willing to give anything a go. New words for today are 'plane' (ain) and 'door'.

We still seem to be up at 5am every morning though...

QueenofDreams · 18/11/2009 11:18

hey snot

Do any of you ladies do Flylady to keep organised in the house? My sister recommended it, so I've just signed up. I'm just wondering if it really helps. I'm hoping it does, because I just need something to get the motivation and a bit of structure. At the moment I clean in fits and starts. A little here, a little there and I just never seem to keep on top of things.

TwilightSurfer · 18/11/2009 11:29

Morning! All slept through last night. R is climbing on me now. Still a little snuffley but I believe she's on the mend. DD1 is cooperating by eating breakfast. DH will be taking her to school so I can go get my x-ray. Here's hoping she cooperates for him.

R is fascinated by a Christmas music box that is out now. All she wants to do is touch it or have us reset it so it plays.

It is 6:27am and DH is out of bed.

Guess I should make use of my time.

Before I go....Lucky CHIROPRACTOR! I can't believe I dealt with my back and hip issues for as long as I did. The chiropractor whipped me into shape almost instantly. Don't delay!

I did Flylady with a MN thread in Good Housekeeping for support. Was good for a while but I lost interest pretty quickly. We did before and after photos to spur us on. She makes a good point on DayOne about drying/buffing things instead of leaving them to airdry.

Slightly better night here as he was awake between 2 and 4 which meant I didn't feel so cheated come 7am. I think I'm just not leaving him to find his way back to sleep as he's in our room and I worry about waking others. When we're back home I'll have to go through the whole letting him cry thing again like QoD. Hopefully home for weekend.

Sazzles That's a good idea doing PChef to raise money, not sure I could be so selfless when it comes to stoneware though. Maybe I'll have one to show off my new kitchen.

cyteen · 18/11/2009 14:06

I couldn't countenance anything that advised me to Finally Love Myself through housework, sorry.

Shite night here, was woken up by pain in throat ffs in between wailing DS demanding our presence in his room on and off all night. Calpol before bed this evening for sure, I think it's his ear bothering him when he lies down - he can't get into a proper deep sleep and thus wakes at the slightest noise. Which is great when DP and I are coughing away like a pair of terminal cases.

QueenofDreams · 18/11/2009 14:13

Must say, I agree about it being a bit twee. All the acronyms are a bit I'm just thinking of using the useful stuff to get me into the habit, and get the house into a state that I won't be all to the nth degree about letting people into the house.

cyteen sending healthy vibes your way.

cyteen · 18/11/2009 14:44

Well, I am a known slattern so don't pay too much heed to anything I say about housework. I did briefly glance at her site and it made me boggle. Sometimes when I'm cleaning the kitchen I will mentally hear a bark: "Shine your sink!"

dizzydixies · 18/11/2009 14:45

pounding head and raging throat again here today even though I stupidly commented to DH that I was feeling somewhat better last night - am BORED of this now. GP at least gave me a phone consultation and has prescribed me something for my throat and signed me off work for another week

sorry for me me me, am being a touch whingey more than usual

alittlebitshy · 18/11/2009 14:46

QOD what is your housework routine atm? I tend to split the work into chunks for each day.
Here's where it gets boring:
Monday morning I dust and hoover downstairs and when ds is asleep I clean the kitchen.
Tuesday I try and dust and hoover upstairs and change some sheets.
Wednesay I clean the bath, basins (5), shower.
Thursday I clean the loos (3) and mirrors
Friday I mop the 3 bathroom/loo floors and remop the kitchen floor.
Obviously laundry and tidying and general cleaning up feature every day but each of the major tasks don't take much more than an hour a day - some only maybe 20mins so I can still make the most of my time when ds is asleep before the school run.

As I said, boring!

QueenofDreams · 18/11/2009 15:15

boring it may be but ut's useful Albs. As for cleaning routine? what cleaning routine? I do a bit here, a bit there. sometimes I don't do any at all
Sometimes I do a big blitz that wears me out and then don't do any for a couple of days. humph.
I really am a slattern.
One thing that isn't helping at the moment is having clothes drying everywhere. THey take DAYS to dry, so by the time they're done you have another load queueing up to go everywhere. It makes the house feel doubly messy.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 18/11/2009 15:41

I heard the mention of Slattern, and here I am.
I assure you I am the queen of slatterns,as O just let dh do it.

I have said numerous times before he has very high standards and I am more of a wipe around an object than lift. So if he is off,he usualy waits till I am at todlers with them both on a thurday morning.

I always dawdle at the end for a cuppa so I don't have to go and help.

In fact only this morning, he said he was so fed up of our black high gloss kitchen that he is tempted to rip it out and get a wooden one. ffs only got it in when dd was about 6 month!

He wants to live in a show home I think

ALBS you are very organised. I try to do bits as and when to fit around dcs, however dh like s to blitz the house in one go.
Takes him about 4 hours.
Nothing is left unturned. The skirting boards even sparkle.

So sorry to hear that you are still unwell dizzy and you too cyteen
I have had a rough few days, cough, chest, toilet visits and feeling sick.
Yesterday I had a very bad headache.DS slept through last two nights, but rough night with dd. she got up twice to wee, which is great, but she 'needs' me so I am back to laying with her to sleep, then sneaking out back to my bed. Saw every hour again.
So still tired.

conversation with dh before he went to work today.
dh How are you feeling today
Me Ok,just tired
dh Have you still got headache,do you feel ill
Me No
dh Oh cos I want some tonight.

Me yawn

cyteen · 18/11/2009 15:51

'I always dawdle at the end for a cuppa so I don't have to go and help' PMSL no1, you are a comedy genius (and a very wise woman ).

Am enjoying all the forthright DHs atm. Is it their time of the month?

dizzydixies · 18/11/2009 16:01

Queenie we're more of a blitz and go here too and EVERY SINGLE TIME we're determined to stay on top of it

the poor dog gets really nervous when we're blitzing away as it normally means we're either heading off somewhere or someone is coming to visit

am sitting playing countdown with DD1 and the only bloody word I can see is 'farting' which is a reasonable score with 7 letters but not quite where I was going with this she's now annoyed because she's short of an 'N' to make Dylan bless her

No1 sorry to hear about your rough night - your DH and mine obv went to the same charm school

cyteen hope your throat not causing you too much bother

hotterpotter · 18/11/2009 16:07

I get fed up of waiting for my DH to jump me, maybe he preferred me as a bigger girl so I end up offering myself to him every time he never says no though...

oopsandbabycoconut · 18/11/2009 16:10

HP - I have the opposite problem - Poor man hasn't had any since before I got my BFP, we were advised not to until 12 weeks and now I'm just too tired and normal feign drop off to sleep before he comes upstairs.

DD trying to dismantly the PS3 back later
