I'm back! Not that I've been anywhere mind, just not had time to catch up on here let alone post. I was going to pretend I will catch up on the thread tonight as dh is away, but seeing as we are at 800 posts already, I don't think I will

All good in the Cave. O has learnt to say "uh oh" (tis v cute) and is still not walking. Taking the odd step and just starting to stand of his own accord, but v lazy on the walking front.

Any major news I need to be aware of? I did hear a rumour that Christmas is just 6 weeks away but that has to be a lie, surely?

TwilightSurfer · 17/11/2009 17:10

Sazzles I am so afraid of the wet-vac. It's unnatural to use electricity to suck up water.

Sambo sounds like F is really having a time. ((hugs)) to you both.

HP I'm using the Safari browser now. There's still some odd things going on with MN though. Double checking my virus protection to see if that's the root.

My hand hurts! A friend mentioned "ruptured tendon" today. That's way easier to digest than some odd ball germ disease. Sitting with ice on it now. I have to find time to get it x-rayed!!!!

Spell check is lovely with this browser.

DD1's electric guitar is on the porch in the rain shorting out. It's giving me a headache playing some crazy tune over and over. I told her to take it in this morning when the rain started. I will not miss it but she will though. Live and learn.

Six weeks - eek.

achooly I have already brought some prezzies. Smiths do some very cool things from the natural history and other museums. So have got one niece a pocket microscope and my big bro a robot that climbs up walls - he is very tricky to buy for.

All the family ladies are getting cup candles and the boys are getting home made hampers with ketchup and pickles. [must get arse in gear]

Won't go into details of the mansteak's visit other than to say that I am glad it is over, yesterday was rubbish, much moping, but today is better and I feel so good that I don't have to worry about it any more.

Right better feed the smidgen before she demolishes the kitchen.

TwilightSurfer · 17/11/2009 17:30

Steaky it's all good in the end. Glad the visit is over. You have a lifetime of wonderful things ahead of you now.

I had to operate on DD1's guitar. No batteries means no sound which means I don't have to listen to it die.

And on the death note, something doesn't smell good in the kitchen so I'm off to clean.

TS lol at guitar surgery. Musical toys are just the best, aren't they?

Sazz vacuuming up water is MAN'S WORK. A woman's place is in the kitchen, at least when there's hard work to be done elsewhere

sambo sounds like a scary situation. Allergies frighten me. Do you think you might get him referred for allergy testing?

Am v pleased to report that after one day of antibiotics DS is back to his usual cheerful lovely self, in fact more so We've had so much fun together today. Am also pleased that I've found a solution to stressful mealtimes - put some food on the coffee table and let him help himself while watching tv I had a feeling he was getting sick of the whole highchair mealtime routine.

Went to John Lewis this pm to see a friend who had also reached her limit with a sicky toddler I don't know what was going on today but the cafe was HEAVING with scrummy new babies! We both left feeling rather broody.

BTW I'm starting a new policy this week, no internet in the evening, in case anyone wonders why I'm not around as much.

oopsandbabycoconut · 17/11/2009 18:32

No1 says she is trying to post but it won't let her log in so that's why she's not about.

alittlebitshy · 17/11/2009 19:03

Am actually of all these babes who will watch tv. dd was always one for it, i think she liked it abit by ow, but ds has no interest at all. not sure if it is over-exposure to dd's stuff or if he just can't be bothered to waste his time watching when he could be climbing/infestigating (copywrite of word held by bil ). sometimes i wish i could put cbeebies or a dvd on so i can get something done in peace. he likes to "help" though. I was dusting and hoovering earlier. a bit later i saw ds going round, pointing the can of polish at the wall then pretending to rub. I didn;t thik he paid that much attention to my houskeeping . Training him up morethanhisfather

glad visit is over steaky am sorry it was bad. if you want to talk do. we're here to listen!

ooh enjoy sazzles. they always sound really good fun!

cyteen · 17/11/2009 19:40

albs DS likes to help too. He loves sweeping with the kitchen broom. And yesterday after I took his temperature, he swiped the thermometer to have a go for himself

dizzydixies · 17/11/2009 19:41

ooh check out Sazz hosting for the RL friends - spare us some yummy morsels please and let R out of the kitchen at some point, bless him hope the damp issues all gone too

and btw - am blaming you for the 2 word perfect Mamma Mia fans in the house now

CaptainCaveman · 17/11/2009 19:49

sazz that sounds good

Is it just coincidence that whenever I have the boys on my own, I seem to get 4 times as much done? Today I made tea for us all (dh usually cooks), took one load of washing out, put the next load on, cleaned the kitchen, played with the boys, bathed and put ds2 to sleep and ds1 is almost ready to go to bed . Thats akin to painting the Cistene chapel in my book

I must say albs ds2 isn't bothered about tv either. Probably because there are so many of his big brothers toys that he can fiddle with which are far more intriguing than the baby toys WHICH HE NEVER TOUCHES!!

alittlebitshy · 17/11/2009 19:50

cyteen another kitchen broom fan here. Only today he has decided the brorm isn;t enough and he wants to dustpan thing too. and bearing in mind i am not good at emptyng it after every use, that is NOt a good idea .

any little boys with big sisters? are they very into pink and hair stuff? lol my ds LOVES wearing dd's hair clips and brings them over to be put in and loves all the handbags around the house, espeically one pink one (as well as my actual real one). I heard dh saying yesterday "no ds you can't take mummy's handbag out with you" Bless him.

CaptainCaveman · 17/11/2009 19:50

cyteen a future doctor on your hands perhaps?

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 17/11/2009 19:52

arrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhhh

QueenofDreams · 17/11/2009 19:53

ALBS S isn't one for watching tv either. he has the attention span of a goldfish I think he watches for about 5 seconds then decides it's much more fun to switch the v-box on and off, so noone else can actually watch tv either.
I wish he would 'help' with the housework. When I'm sweeping he chases round after me trying to eat the dirt pile so I have to try and block him with my legs and the whole thing just turns into a rather ridiculous dance.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 17/11/2009 19:54

what the is going on?

Can someone tell me what page number we are on?

dizzydixies · 17/11/2009 19:56

ALBS - D loves putting on DD1's hairbands however DD2 screams bloody murder if you even look at her with a brush not quite the same thing I know but I think they just like to copy regardless

am about to fall out with DD1 - she's crying because I won't let her watch the end of Mamma Mia - she's now roaring and greeting because I didn't let her see if the lady waited on the man she's only seen it about 16times now - stalling tactics make me

oopsandbabycoconut · 17/11/2009 20:01

No1 - page 33 or there is currently another version on MN running which when you look in the bit where is says www.mumsnet.com at the top (addressbar?)(can't remember the tech term for it) if there is www.mumsnet just delete the www. bit and it may work, if the www isn't there just add it after the bit it makes the normal pages appear.

If that makes any sense you win a prize!

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 17/11/2009 20:08

Cheers oops I think I have sorted it now.
I have been trying to log on all day through my favourites.
It was saying 82 pages on this thread, and was all weird, wouldnt flip and only on page 1!! very odd.
Spoke to Oliviamn and she said she wasnt aware of any log in probs.

I tried again through google and all is good.

QueenofDreams · 17/11/2009 20:14

hi no1

Argh. email from DP. He's not going to be in till just before 10.
I'm very tired of how late he's working atm. I really wish he'd get a job closer to home or grow a pair and actually leave work on time occasionally.

TwilightSurfer · 17/11/2009 21:00

oh and i was just needing some pampered chef items to give as teacher gifts. where's my transporter!?!

another baby arrived today for our family. dh's cousin had a cs at 12:30. Baby Girl named Abigail 5lb 8oz & 18in. The baby was breech, fluids were low, and mother was having BP issues so doc said let's get her out. All are well. I, of course, have been crying ever since I found out. Births make me so emotional. Add a CS to it and I'm boohooing for hours.

No1 i could get logged in but it wouldn't let me go to our thread. It kept switching back to the main topics screen. I had to back out and get to our thread a different way. Very bizarre. MNHQ still hasn't answered my problem request from the weekend. I still can't post properly using Explorer.

CC High 5 on all the activity there, you can stop for the week now.

Steaky High 5 for your coming out the other side of this weekend in one piece.

Sazzles High 5 on the Pampered Chef party[green]. Hope you get loads of freebies. TS You should host one, you'd love it (and the recipes, lots of Southwestern stuff.)

I am trying to pluck up courage to attempt bed as I had such a rubbish night with Kurt last night. I got back from pub at 11 and he started yodelling as soon as I walked in according to DH. He then yodelled on and off, co-sleeping after about an hour, and at 5am it turned into crying. I tried to ignore it for about an hour then brought him downstairs. Which still didn't seem to work, even with milk and a couple of rich tea biscuits. Was happy as Larry at 7am when we went to wake the others, I on the other hand had been crying for about an hour as I was so tired. DH was able to take the big 2 to school though and Kurt & I then slept from 8.30-11.30! Still no sign of new teeth, just can't work out what his problem is, something to do with sleep phases I guess - needs to be in his own room!

steaknife · 17/11/2009 21:52

darn it - just read everything and forgot.

DD isn't interested in helping with the cleaning though is always quite keen on the dirt pile and playing with the dust bunnies. If she finds a cloth she sometimes lies on the floor and dusts it

She very much likes my box of fabric scraps, yesterday she liked cuddling the roll of wadding she found. I don't have the TV on at all during the day - for me more than for her - otherwise it could be on all day and night. I stayed up late watching Young Butcher of the Year last night
