let them lounge in front of the tv all morning/ sent them out with DH for MacDonald for lunch and then he fed them chicken dippers and chips from the freezer for tea too we've been doing naked dancing to strictly tonight too so they're only away to bed now - hardly award winning parenting

I tend to find for situations like that a shower is easier for the evening wash - would he go in a shower? failing that the power hose is a useful tool

good luck to Ireland - no doubt it will be on here too, his face is already tripping him because he didn't get to watch Scotland in 'real' time - we've sky + ffs

cyteen · 14/11/2009 21:24

Queenie it does sound like the routine is starting to take effect. Massively well done you

dizzy any day that ends in naked dancing is a good one IMO

Evening in with Strictly and X Factor...FIL is being particularly challenging tonight DP has started to look a little manic around the eyes.

TwilightSurfer · 14/11/2009 22:04

with luck may this post post...

hi. i have just completed mowing the front yard all my byself. if i could find the damn instruction manual i would have used the bagger attatchment but since it's been hiden from me i was forced to use the rake.

making fetticuni noodles for dinner since lunch was huge. hopefully this will trigger sleepy eyes and all will start snoring sooner rather than later.

reese is doing very well in my book. fingers crossed this is a trend and not a fluke.

dizzy i'm with you on the "showers are easiest" front. both mine are carwashed more often than not.

as for climbing....reese will be the first to the top of mt everest! the kid has no fear and is found on top of tables often. of course i realize that means she could be showing signs of a future in table dancing but hey ho that's a problem for another day.

i really wish my post early this morning hadn't been lost. i ranted like a wild woman about a prescription mishap. the doctor that saw reese yesterday for what is/was mild croup with no other complications prescribed a steriod for her that i questioned. the doc and the nurse were dismissive so i questioned the pharmacist who filled the script. once he saw my 22lb 15month old and realized the meds were for her he was SHOCKED. the doctor prescribed twice the amount she should have (possibly a bit more than twice). i was furious. the pharmacist requested that i in no way give her the meds, which i did not. i knew before i dropped the script off that it wasn't correct but wanted a degreed individual to confirm it.

to further explain why this would have been bad... firstly it would have knocked her on her ass. secondly, steriods, although good for decreasing inflamation, crap out your immune system. this means she would suddenly become a germ target. a small cold causing a mild bit of croup then turns into some horrible viral or even worse bacterial craziness causing us to HAVE TO use more meds.

rant over. for the record that was so mild compared to the one that was lost.

fingers crossed for oops. i hope poppy is on the mend.

sazzles, check the bin. i think that's were my cars keys went.

sambo glad to see you.

as for children "free to a good home"...i have a 5 almost 6 year old that i can offer.

No posts for 12 hours

What's going on???? Oh,Dizzy's poorly and Sazz can't get on her laptop,ah now it makes sense

SazZaVoom · 15/11/2009 10:40

Cheeky bloody mare

There are other computers you know . Just done a massive Ocado order for DD1's birthday - managed to save £57 on a £150 shop .

TS that's crap

Must go as DD2 shouting at me as bored of my Ocado ordering

snotexpectingsnow · 15/11/2009 12:15

Hi Sazz TS I know you said you had a friend here and there has certainly been one of your compatriots here this weekend - I just didn't realise you had friends in such high places

Queenie well done sounds like it is going well.

Oops hope dd feeling better and get well wishes to all the poorly babes and Mums.

Sambo hi and glad you're getting some proper treatment.

cyteen · 15/11/2009 12:23

Our 'relaxing weekend' has turned out to be a bit of a farce:

5 hour hell drive with squalling baby
DP forced to spend the entire weekend providing technical support for FIL
sicky baby full of cough and cold, and thus
yelling all through the night both nights, not that it mattered much because
I have got DP's bug too and feel like a big bag of shite, my tonsils are like golf balls and so both nights were spent shivering/sweating in bed wondering why everything hurt so much
my period randomly decided to start after 18 days - it's never done this before and so obviously I was unprepared
DP didn't even get to have his night out due to rubbish weather

dizzydixies · 15/11/2009 12:49

oh cyteen am sorry wrap up, get some soup into you and take care

hots parp to you

sazz well done on the shop - have had to send DH to local shop as his Tesco shop yesterday produced feck all how did DD1 enjoy the party?

SazZaVoom · 15/11/2009 13:10

Sorry but i did have to LOL at MrDizzy's non shopping efforts . If i give DH the list i compile during the week of things we have run out of/low on he only gets those things plus maybe some truffles and giraffe horn powder . He forgets milk, yoghurts & banana's & the like (which we get EVERY week) and i don't bother putting on the list because they are so bloody obvious. Well, obviously not

Bloody car alarm keeps going off here, just as girls have gone to sleep AAArrrghhhh

dizzy party was fab thanks - DD1 just wanted to do painting whilst all the other children were merrily running round the soft play, DD2 ate 2 cocktail sausages and a wotsit and one of the guests crapped on the carpet. So pretty non-eventful as they go . DD1 had a 'great time' and cried when we left in the car and loved wearing her party dress - was the most sparkly one there

cyteen in the bath, feet up, good book and lots of tlc for you

Hiya back atchya snot

TwilightSurfer · 15/11/2009 13:29

AARGH! Lost another blasted post!!! This is really really pissing me off.

No time to repost. (((hugs)))

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 15/11/2009 13:32

I do love a good sparkly party dress

we offered a friend of mine first refusal on the graco entertainment centre (another thing in the house not stapled down so being sold ) and 2 fecking months later she's come back to me saying thanks but no thanks grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr - I think she was holding off one me hoping I'd just give it to her - I'm wanting shot of it out the living room so I can get the front room sorted for the decorations which have to go up in the first week of Dec this year - tis main reason I said PIL couldn't stay with us when they're back over and now I have to try and sell on something I could have gotten rid of months ago [petty emoticon]

Dylan has just emptied half of box of hankies and blown her nose with everyone - tis very sweet as she just makes the noises - did I tell you she tried to dress the dog yesterday too poor long suffering mut

dizzydixies · 15/11/2009 13:33

oh TS just text me and I'll type it all on for you

QueenofDreams · 15/11/2009 13:34

Hello ladies
Well. Last night was FAB Got him to bed at about 7.40 and not a peep out of him the rest of the night!
On top of that it was my lie-in morning this morning. I think DP was trying to nab the lie in, but I made him get up and see to Seb. So I'm feeling rather good today.
S now having a nap, DP out to the shops. I'm just popping on briefly then going to do some washing up etc.

cyteen Gah, it's typical isn't it? everything hits at precisely the wrong time. Try get a little rest, and get DP to wait on you hand and foot.
ts at the doctor. Wow.
dizzy anti-b's are going in fine. DP still disputing it, but hey ho. I love him to bits but sometimes...

Hi to everyone else too
And I'm off to be domesticated for a change.

QueenofDreams · 15/11/2009 13:36

Wow, I really went for the smileys in that post didn't I?

dizzydixies · 15/11/2009 13:43

oh QofD am delighted to hear it - thats really cheered me up, well done you and well done Seb

smiley away - its deserved

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 15/11/2009 14:13

qod I am so pleased to here that S slept all night for you, I found that once they realise you mean it re routine it all falls into place and they thrive on it. until something comes along like teething, cold etc...
I am very very happy for you.

dizzy glad to here you are feeling little better.lol at dd dressing the dog.

oops so glad that P is on the mend, I bet you are exhausted, I hope you manage to catch up.

ts at doc prescribing thw wrong dose, I too would have been furious. To think we put our confidence ion them too.
Well done for spotting it.

sazzles when is dd1 birthday?
have you found the thingumy?

red I knwo what you mean about stuff buzzing around.
I don't bath dcs everynight either, in fact I better not dare admit the last time I washed their hair.

Well we got out last night after an unbelievable nighmarish day.
dh went to bed for an hour
sister rang to say she couldnt catch my pony,so wasn't in the mood and left it.
So got kids wrapped up and in car to deal with it, but battery on car was dead. because dh messed about with earlier and forgot to turn my lights off.
Got him out to jump start.
went to farm got pony in no probs, she was at gate waiting for me.

Wanted to have a go at dsis for that, because I look after her horse too every day, and had all her kids and other animals for a week ffs.
I had to bite my tongue, as she was having my dcs last night.

Anyway had a fab night out only local, but was great, really got back to being just us.iykwim.
We had to leave as I was worried that we would be told to 'get a room'
Had a great night at home too.

QueenofDreams · 15/11/2009 14:13

Thanks Dizz.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 15/11/2009 14:22

Sorry very long and prob lots of typos as rushed.

Picked dcs up and apparently ds has hardly slept all night.Dsis says she has had about an hour.
She said she thinks something is wrong with him, as he cries so much.

We then discovered some new teeth, and a very swollen gum.
dd had a late night too, and had a MAJOR meltdown (very very rare) in the car leaving her house.

Took ages to get ds to nap earlier, very overtired.
DD still fighting it and looks exhausted, but she screamed so much when I tried,I didnt want to wake ds.

Oh well she should sleep very well tonight. Fine line between it being worth going out and having the ordeal of dcs having late night to contend with the day after.
(prob being ungrateful.) It was great to get out.

dizzydixies · 15/11/2009 14:25

No1 - am glad you managed to get out, sorry to hear about the kids - can you dose them up and bed them down for the afternoon?

OleOleOlentils · 15/11/2009 14:57

That is brilliant qod And good to hear that you had a great night too No1.

Sorry to hear that you are ill too Cyteen. That does not sound like a restful weekend.

Lots of positive vibes for Master VG and his new school tomorrow.

DH is building my wardrobe this afternoon which will mean I don't have to wear whatever is on the top of the heap in the corner of the bedroom. We spent a lot of time decorating it this summer, so it will be lovely to have it nearly finished.

Curtains next and then we are done.

DD2 is feverish and in bad sorts with her mmr, which means it's hard to get anything done.

Poppy, I'm still about your dd standing in the middle of the dinner table.

dizzydixies · 15/11/2009 15:03

Lentil - the commentator has just ruined Ireland's chances completely jinxed it - DH not a happy bunny at all

glad to hear the diy fest has an end in sight

speaking of which buckets how is the kitchen coming or shouldn't we ask?

LWFH how are you keeping, any further forward on the names?!?!

dizzydixies · 15/11/2009 15:44

where is everybody[wails]

off no doubt spending quality time with the family

DH watching the rudby, DD1 drawing, DD2 being a loon and D napping

am on my own here people [sniff]

SazZaVoom · 15/11/2009 15:44

DH has furnished me with one of his spare tablet PC's so i am back.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 15/11/2009 15:55

red glad your wardrobe will be finished soon, and you can pick out your clothes eaily.

My dh nags me constantly for leaving my stuff laying about.

sazzles the bath sounds devine.
ds been asleep since 1.30 and still snoring.
DD at the side of me snoring.

I know the bedtime will be very late tonight now,but I can cope with that as they won't be overtired.iykwim.

Dsis text to say she is bringing the horses in this evening,as I did this am. She also said book the hotel she had heard we were wondering about (where we got married) and she will gladly have them again. So happy about that.
cyteen I hope you are feeling ok,and manage to rest up too.

poppy I was also thinking about the climbing on the table.
ds is a climber and also loves pushing the chairs around the kitchen as they slide on the wood floor.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 15/11/2009 16:04

Someone mentioned biting the other day. Was it you dizzy
Ds also does it to me, very very occasionaly and usualy when playing and excited.
If I say 'no' he laughs and does it again, but if I say firmly 'we don't do that,it's not nice' etc.. and put him down and ignore,he stops.

I would like to ask if anyone knows how to deal with a child biting themselves.

dd bites her arm and hands when she gets so upset.
She has three bite marks at the moment. one on one hand. The other on her other hand and arm. They look awful, and I am not sure how to deal with this. Do I ignore?
I have my older dbrother dropping hints at me that she is showing signs of being on the Autistic spectrum, due to thie biting and the hitting Ds wtf he is irritating me with his comments, because from conversations I have had with other mums with same age gaps have experienced similar things and I/we think she is just a young child doing things that nearly all children do.
He is also saying that because he has two children that are and my sister has one who is, and one waiting to be assessed that The chances one of my dcs also being on the spectrum is very high.
