I am thinking about cake, so am now eating toast.

Not done anything special. Just a bit of xmas shopping with dcs as dh gone to work on night shift,so made myself scarce for few hours so he could sleep. However many deliveries and visitors at tea time he has gone to do a 12 hour shift on no sleep.

We are going out tomorow night though as my dsis is having dcs overnight. Bout bloody time too. I am desperate for a break. Hope that doesn't sound awful.
I think I ma entitled to it though as only 2nd in nearly 15 months.

dizzydixies · 13/11/2009 20:31

hi No1 - I would have made you a cake but you'd have probably had to wire brush and dettol it first

I stopped smoking when that pregnancy test came up positive and haven't had once since, even when I lost that baby I thought, feck it whats the point.

its a similar thing with DD2 and her dummy- she stopped taking it last week with her coldsores in her mouth hurting her and hasn't had one since - we're just going with it as it would be quite handt to stop it now

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 13/11/2009 20:36

LOL at dettoling the cake I would have eaten it.

Bollox have just realised that my toast has only cooked on one side, or should that be my bread has only toasted on one side.

This is using my fantastic dualit toaster.
good job dh is not here to witness as the toaster is something we argue have a heated debate on regularly.

hotterpotter · 13/11/2009 20:36

Dinner time for me so catch you all later

No1 don't forget to message buckets on fb if you want to be in the secret santa

steaknife · 13/11/2009 20:39

Soap round up

Sorry to disappoint but the smoochiness was a stroke on the arm and a chaste kiss on the lips.
So even if he would like to he isn't actually behaving on that urge. So not that difficult to not shag him as he isn't really trying that hard to shag me. [sigh] It is like giving up the BF - you want it to go smoothly but at the same time would like a bit of fuss for your self-confidence. [hurrumph]

DD took an hour to got to sleep last night and again tonight - eventually Mansteak went up, I said, don't pick her up just lay her back down and rub her tummy and shush her. He did it his way so now she will want to be cuddled to sleep for the next few nights. It isn't worth the argument with him to press my point but it will be me that has to be tough mummy and get her back into her going to sleep by herself groove.

Ah well. Sorry haven't got to the last page yet - going to catch up...

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 13/11/2009 20:41

Hectic here atm.
dd just gone to bed. She is being very affectionate and has said 'I lov you mummy' a lot today.
I will miss the 'I nuv noo mummy' though.

ds took ages to settle due to no nap today, and was obviously overtired.
19oz of milk later and he is zonked.

He also woke at 5am and had 18 oz of milk. Drank like he had never been fed.
growth spurt maybe?
ds has been sleeping 12 hors for a week or so now though, just need to sort out dd who I can currently hear coughing her head off.

miamla was it you who mentioned the gender tyoe toys?
DS and dd both got a doll buggy the other day. He loves it. dh is like this

miamla · 13/11/2009 20:52

aye, it was indeed No1, after a discussion we had at our mini-london meetup

sorry hots i'm still none the wiser!

DP currently playing with DS so i'm having a moment on my own

QueenofDreams · 13/11/2009 20:55

Hi No1!!!!!!
Good to see you. Sorry you haven't had a fantastic birthday. If it's any consolation mine is likely to be the same.

I think I'm definitely wearing the Bad Mummy dunce's hat. I still smoke Every so often I say I should quit. But the truth is I don't really want to. I just know I OUGHT to.
DP going to be home any minute. I'm making the most of being by myself.
ie: I am sitting on MN DP will probably pitch a fit at the house's messy state, but right now I just don't care.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 13/11/2009 20:58

I am soooo exhausted. I should be epilating my legsor my night out and night of passion tomorow but do not have the energy.
I should go to bed really.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 13/11/2009 21:02

queeny I felt like that about smoking, I knew I ought to stop, but enjoyed it too much. If dh was a smoker then who knows, I may have carried on. Not around dcs though, or while pregnant.

QueenofDreams · 13/11/2009 21:10

Well DP quit smoking about 6 months ago now. And he always said he would never quit. I quit really easily for pregnancy, but when the baby blues hit, that was it and I was smoking again. I don't smoke in the house, only ever outside. And certainly not when I'm pushing S in his pram either. (I'm a snobby smoker methinks ) I smoke less than 10 a day.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 13/11/2009 21:18

lol at snobby smoker. that was me too. I would never walk and smoke, in fact I can't walk and eat either.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 13/11/2009 21:24

Quick question re older dcs on here.
If any one has baby Annabell second size not first. Was wondering about clothing sizes.

dd is getting one for xmas.I got a cheap official outfit from tk maxx, but wondered about buying real baby clothes cheaper. Wondered if newborn or premature.

hotterpotter · 13/11/2009 22:06

No1 we only have a small Baby Annabel but if she is the same size as our Baby Born (16 inches) then premature size is probably best. Newborn is OK but a bit baggy

hotterpotter · 13/11/2009 22:24

Also my DS is getting a baby dolly and buggy for Christmas in an attempt to stop the squabbles over DD's pushchair . How can any DH complain, after all they cuddle babies and push pushchairs don't they

Steaky I hope it is still going OK with mansteak

RedLentil · 13/11/2009 22:34

Best wishes to everyone who is ill. What a nasty time of year.

The swine flu vaccine is about to become available for small children here, so it's time to weigh that up.

For now though, a glass of wine with DH and the Late Late Show I think. So rock and roll

QueenofDreams · 13/11/2009 23:33

Hots - Ds is also getting a dolly for christmas. He nabbed mini-SIL's dolly that she got for her birthday, so we figure he needs one of his own

no1 I definitely don't do smoking and walking either. My SIL says I'm 'posh' because I don't smoke and walk

QueenofDreams · 13/11/2009 23:52

Ack and he's awake again. We had to get him up last time because he was all pooey. THink his sore is really bothering him. Must really sting when he has a wee.

sambo303 · 14/11/2009 07:56

morning all

good to see you lot are still nattering away
what is this? ? Oh I see, its for when you sit down, put your feet up and have a cuppa and a . can we hope for a whole range of cakes too soon?

have been in eczema hell so finally went to a private dr last week and the next day ds's eczema had cleared up. He's a different boy so we're happy but not sure how long we can put loads of steroids all over him... still not sleeping well though, waking every hour/2 hours through the night hence not able to fit in mning

hope all are well, going to read back a bit, can I have a round up for the last 2 months???

miamla · 14/11/2009 08:25

hi sambo!!! how lovely to see you!! i keep meaning to send you a text to check all ok but i obviously never actually got to the point of writing it...sorry But i was thining of you, does that count?
sorry to hear F been having problems, you're definitely in the right place.... we should all be quarantined at the moment!

hotterpotter · 14/11/2009 08:38

Sambo! Welcome back! We've missed you . Good luck with catching up though...

Sorry to hear it has taken so long to find a working treatment for DS' eczema but phew that something is finally working. Hopefully once his skin has had a chance to recover you'll be able to stop the steroids, no?

After several days of sleeping in till 7.30 (when I was getting up for work at 6), DS chose this morning to wake at 6.10 DH shushed him and he chuntered for a bit but then started really crying so we had to come downstairs. He's doing my head in now, usisng his wheelybug as a step to reach out of bounds stuff

sambo303 · 14/11/2009 08:44

hi miamla yes, I want to be quarantined then i wont have to get up for work every day after 3/4 hours broken sleep and i can lounge around in the tent eating s

how are you & T & dp?

sambo303 · 14/11/2009 08:52

hotpot not sure what the long term treatment is, we've been taking one day at a time, and i noticed where i missed the bits under his arms last night with the steroid cream, the eczema has returned. ds's dr was on the panel who recommended steroids be available over the counter so he's clued up and a lot better than the sympathetic but useless NHS health professionals we've seen. We 're trying to work out if he's developed an allergy to anything he eats, we've excluded dairy, soya and wheat and now Im paranoid he's missing out on vital amino acids - dr said we should give him lamb to make sure he's getting everything he needs, dp said no way, he's veggie. I'm a bit about it because I think ds's health is more important that morals about meat atm. Obv we cant give him nuts so he is missing out on stuff.

QueenofDreams · 14/11/2009 08:52

Morning ladies.
Hi sambo good to see you back again. I've been wondering how you are. Good to hear F's eczema is clearing a bit. Sorry you're having rough nights. Mine haven't been great lately, but at least I don't have to get through a day at work after each bad night.

Ladies - the night wasn't bad. DS still ended up in bed with me, as the last wakeup he just didn't settle and wouldn't be calmed. It's ok though. He still slept from 7.30 last night (with that one blip of getting up for a nappy change then going straight back to bed )
He's now sitting next to me with no napy on, and I need to give him his ABs

sambo303 · 14/11/2009 08:54

ds is playing with an empty coke bottle I filled with mung beans - dp calls this his scottish toy
