Oh no, poor Aug08 laydees and babes . My neighbour has had SF for the last week and a half . Temp for 2-3 days apparently is what they use as the key indicator

Took DD1 for her swimming lesson and they had closed the pool as someone had done a #2 in there. Ewwwwwww. DD1 very upset which is odd as she was saying on the way there that she wasn't feeling well in order to get out of it . Contrary? [yes]

LOTI - well done you on tackling things with DH. Communication is key to resolving things rather than brushing it under the carpet and letting it fester.

poppy the first things docs ask is 'are they ok within themselves?' (which i have always thought is a silly comment, but that's for another thread). And we all use it as a rule of thumb. So please don;t beat yourself up. The good thing is you have seen the doc and all that can be done is being done so you have done your best. All anyone can ask

ann Hope Seb gets the all clear or some medicine to clear up any infection

miamla DD2 is hanging here as no sleep since 11am. I am being cruel and keeping her going like a duracell bunny on low battery

Enjoy your evening out Cyteen and some warm nights

miamla · 13/11/2009 17:55

hi albs yeah, dp back from work soon and i'm going to suggest a takeaway...hmm a cheeky chinese or dirty kebab...decisions decisions! so thank you for offering but we'll be ok

sazz normally i keep Ds awake but he came and lay next to me on the phone earlier and i didn't realise he'd dropped off

hmm, he's just woken up now..better go and get him!

QueenofDreams · 13/11/2009 18:27

Hi ladies.
Oh dear, doctor's appointment has thrown out my timings for this evening. I picked up some precooked chicken in tescos on the way back so that he could eat quite soon. So he is having his dinner now. Or the chicken at any rate, his veg is just cooking.
He DOES have an infection it just looks so bad today. Anyway, he's got antibiotics and canesten cream just in case it's thrush in his nappy area as well. Oh and he'll be in disposable nappies for the next few days until his poor willy looks better.
miamla hope T's late nap doesn't affect your sleep too much tonight.

miamla we're having chinese tonight. mmmm.

re the meetup on 28th. a takeaway sounds good.

ann poor seb good luck for tonight. don't stress about timings being out a few mins, just pootl;e along to the routine as closely as you can.

dizzydixies · 13/11/2009 18:48

vg I don't think I had what he had as I physically couldn't do anything today and am struggling now having been up for 2 hrs I'm sorry I haven't had a chance to wish ds1 all the very best for Mon - he's such a lovely lovely boy am sure he'll be loved by all. I also forgot to tell you that the job situation for my friends partner has resolved and he was offered both South Africa and Dublin - he's staying local so am very pleased on a very selfish level as have not a hope of visiting South Africa

temp up again and head pounding so now that D is down am only going to hold on till DD2 goes down and then its back to bed for me

thank goodness am no longer bfing as am chucking everything in thats not nailed down

have put myself off sick from work so that removes pressure to be well for tomorrow as well

Ann glad you have cream/meds for Seb - agree with ALBS, don't worry too much about the timings, just keep going with the routine as thats the important thing - they can't tell the time at this age

DD2 has just sneezed/coughed water out of her nose and is delighted with her new trick

QueenofDreams · 13/11/2009 18:51

dizzy sorry you're feeling so rough Good that you've called sick for tomorrow. Just rest up and take it easy.
S has eaten a bit. Not anything like he normally does. Now off to run his bath.

SazZaVoom · 13/11/2009 19:11

Signing off now as we are apparently not using computers this evening

Hope all feel better tomorrow

QueenofDreams · 13/11/2009 19:42

I don't know if any of you would know about this, but thought I'd ask anyway:

DS's infection is basically an infected sore on the foreskin. The doctor has prescribed amoxycillin. Have told DP on the phone and he went nuts. He says that an oral antibiotic won't help the infection, that S should have an antiseptic cream prescribed instead? I thought the oral anti-b would still do the trick. Anyone know if what DP says is right?

dizzydixies · 13/11/2009 19:45

Queen, am no expert but DD2 has had a bacterial infection in her fingers and was prescribed oral antibiotics - has worked well and her fingers are much improved as is the rash on her face and her cold sore

maybe he's just a touch oversensitive as it's on the wee man's willy?!?!

and without being meaning to be mean to your DH, I think the medically trained Dr would have a bit of a clue about how to treat an infected sore - hope that didn't come across as arsey

thanks for jam and bread Sazz

am on countdown till bed, DD1 due back from Drama any minute and after they're down I am too

hotterpotter · 13/11/2009 19:47

for all you poorly mummies and babies I hope the feeling-better fairy comes and visits you all overnight

DH out in the garage chopping kindling for the fire so I really ought to tidy up a bit. Need to empty the ash tray (from the fire not fags) but it is really pissing down outside

Not judging smoking btw, although it has been 6 years since I quit I still miss it sometimes...maybe that is what I need to get me off my HotMama plateau, start smoking again!

QueenofDreams · 13/11/2009 19:55

dizzy that didn't come across as arsey at all And FWIW I agree with you. It didn't occur to me to even think there would be a problem with it. THink DP is going to be awkward over this
Sometimes he really does act the know-it-all.
Hope you have a good sleep and you wake up feeling loads better.

dizzydixies · 13/11/2009 20:04

hots my last cigarette was Nov 25th 2001 as I sat waiting on the pregnancy test to turn +
haven't had once since and blame my weight gain on that, nothing at all to do with the out of control appetite or 3 massive babies since

DD2 has just announced she's not going to bed as its too boring when she's asleep

dizzydixies · 13/11/2009 20:07

thanks Queenie, hope S gives you another good night and the meds kick in soon - wee soul

hotterpotter · 13/11/2009 20:18

LOL Dizz I would blame the lack of fags too if it wasn't for the fact that I was 14 stone when I was smoking

Hope you get DD2 to bed soon so you can crash out Miamla and I have both had swine flu and it was very horrible, but the really bad part only lasted a couple of days. You think you're never going to feel better, then all of a sudden you do. Fingers crossed for you poppet.

Good luck to you too Queenie. Hope you get a good night and DS' willy is a bit better in the morning.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 13/11/2009 20:20

Hi ladies, so sorry about all the illness.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes.

I did not get any cake today. I knew I should have just made one myself.

I have read all the 23 pages of this thread and the last 5 of the old one.
It has took that long that every opportunity to say hi, I used to catch up instead.

I have forgot most of it...
albs what a scary ordeal with H I hope you are all okay.

queeny well done on the routine, I have struggled getting one in place for both at times so I know how hard it is. I have to agree with other comments on Consistancy being the key.
Oh and walk away and count to 100 when you start to get stressed/angry or whatever.

oops I hope dds temp has come down.
poppy please don't blame yourself.
I am now wondering if I should be taking dd to docs as me and her also sound like we have smoked about 30 cigs. Ds started with it this morning.
but she does appear ok in herself.
ts hope dd2 is ok today.

I am struggling to remember everything else.
dizzy you poor thing, I hope a good night sleep helps. NY sounds fab, what a shame dh was ill, but it sounds like you manage to cram alot of sightseeing in.

hotterpotter · 13/11/2009 20:20

Also DH just mentioned that Martha Wainwright is pregnant. When will the feelings of and go away????

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 13/11/2009 20:22

Hey hotter sorry not had chance to reply to text today. Thankyou
I also quit smoking about 7 yr ago. I thought the 30 a day habbit was getting beyond a joke and quite disgucting so on the very day I met dh (who didnt smoke) I just quit.

I had the occasional joint after that pre dcs but nothing since.I sometimes crave, but not enough to do it.iykwim. although I did ask my younger darling brother to get me a joint the other day for emergencies.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 13/11/2009 20:24

Poor ds and his willy. hope the meds kick in soon.
'willy' and wee wee is ds favourite words at the moment.

miamla · 13/11/2009 20:24

hotterpotter · 13/11/2009 20:25

Sorry you didn't get a cake but it will do good for your Hotness! Have you had a good birthday apart from that though?

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 13/11/2009 20:26

Hi miamla just got your message too. Thankyou.

Has dp recovered? that was very nice of you to offer tea and toast.

miamla · 13/11/2009 20:27
