miamla · 12/11/2009 22:24

hiya, i'm not here i'm finishing a carrier for a random lady i got chatting to in mothercare a few weeks ago!

SazZaVoom · 12/11/2009 22:25

OK final offering - posy, carnation and romany from here

dizzydixies · 12/11/2009 22:26

good job miamla - I saw a couple of pretty things on line the other day and thought either you or steaky should be doing them to be getting some extra cash for chrimbo

SazZaVoom · 12/11/2009 22:28

There is a one with circles on that site, but feels a little passe to me [overthinking]

Hope minioops temp comes down soon oops

Dinner sounds lovely TS

How fab about your carriers Miamla - they are truly impressive

Not sure where we got to with the London meetup on the 28th with the lovely Poppy, but i think i can probably swing it, if it is a go-er?

QueenofDreams · 12/11/2009 22:41

hello again ladies

oops sorry to hear about your dinner and your DD's temp. Hope you're both perking up a bit soon.

Not a peep out of Seb yet Must be the Grobag doing its thing. Mind you, better not count my chickens just yet. Fingers crossed he doesn't decide to have a major traumatic wakeup just as I decide to go to bed.

miamla · 12/11/2009 22:44

definitely a go-er on the 28th. i've warned DP that he might be invaded by half a dozen crazy mums with Aug babies and he reckons it'll be no problem!
We should probably make a decision about what we're doing though...firstly are we staying in or going out? if we're going out are we going to official do or making our own party?

I'm going to attempt to start a list (many many apologies if i forget anyone...i was meant to be having an early night tonight to catch up on a fortnight of not sleeping)

miamla
sazz
albs
pertelote
bouquet
poppy

erm, has anyone else confirmed? ann?

poor minioops, has DH got to work tomorrow? can you go to bed now and then take over after a few hours?

SazZaVoom · 12/11/2009 22:46

Queenie - at least look at it this way if he does wake - you have had a few child free hours of an evening which is better than before no? Don;t forget to go back and reread what was happening before and how far you have come in a short time . I myself will be amazed if we hear nothing until morning and we have had no hassle bed times for months

Nice list miamla

miamla · 12/11/2009 22:48

FFS DP has just stumbled in a little worse for wear!

TwilightSurfer · 12/11/2009 22:51

OH! If ya'll crash at Miamla's we can SKYPE!!!!!! And I can be part of the PARTY!!!!!

Dinner was a hit. Thank goodness I picked up a random bottle of sauce for a rainy day.

DH just got home. Must close laptop and look busy.

QueenofDreams · 12/11/2009 22:59

Oh TS I'm on Skype

miamla I'm not sure about 28th. have mentioned it to DP, but I think it's really going to depend on what we're doing. Money a little too tight to be going out really. So you ladies decide what you would like to do, and then I'll see if I can afford to join you.

QueenofDreams · 12/11/2009 23:02

sorry that should be it depends on what you're doing.

dizzydixies · 12/11/2009 23:07

I won't be there so want a dizzy on a stick there instead - right, off to bed for me

QueenofDreams · 12/11/2009 23:07

And I'm off ladies. Hope you all sleep well.

steaknife · 12/11/2009 23:11

Queeny reading over the thread from the last couple of days, I think you are doing a tremendous job at getting Seb, DP and yourself into a night time groove. I admire you for it.

Buckets maybe saucy was the wrong word. But if you were a hairy trucker pretending to be a mum of a 14mo would you really be thinking "I know I'll pretend I have piles" rather than "I know I'll tell them I shagged the milkman and then he asked me to star in a porn film just before I got abducted by aliens. Lucky they beamed me back in time for the school run. hmm what shall I make for dinner...."

It has been an okay day with the mansteak, actually quite a nice day. But he got a bit smoochy on me before supper so I asked him about that and he admitted he was wrong to have been so. pfft.
Though I received a text from a friend today who told me our mutual friend had said "don't let steaky shag mansteak"
so that's me told

TwilightSurfer · 13/11/2009 00:14

Did I miss something? Steaky why can't you shag ManSteak? I'm not saying romatically re-entangle yourself with your DH (soon to be XDH) but how is it wrong to tap that when you know the tappings good? It's SEX for crying out loud! Put your "feelings" in a box on top of the fridge and get to feeling some happy happy.

Or not.

Your choice.

LOL! I suddenly feel like that little red devil who sits on your shoulder opposite the little white dressed angel whispering in your ear.

I am a very bad influence. Always have been. Don't listen to me. I only cause trouble.

It's FUN AS HELL trouble but trouble nontheless.

TwilightSurfer · 13/11/2009 00:18

See why I steer clear of booze most of the time. This is me talking SOBER!

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 13/11/2009 00:23

I will now go sit in the time out corner and THINK about how bad I've been.

snotexpectingsnow · 13/11/2009 01:50

TS you are mad! But right all the same re Steaky.

Dizzy I too have a biter and like TS watch like a hawk and remove him when he looks like he is going to bite. He does it when overexcited and when other children take something that he hs or wants. He's bitten other children twice the first time I missed because it was just that - the first time so I wasn't expecting it and I was mortified. The second time he was just too quick but since then I've been quicker or he hasn't done it as much. He's reverted only to biting me but I have just done the firm 'no' biting hurts and also tried the whole Mummy doesn't like to be bitten she likes kisses/cuddles/strokes etc whcih very slowly appears to be working. He's noticably worse when he's teething and tired too so I give him teething rings or an apple to eat as he loves them.

His speaking seems to be coming on loads at the moment yesterday he said raining (naining), pumpkin (mumpke) (we still had some pumkin candles from haloween lying around) and more he also said Daddy twice this morning which pleased DH no end after weeks and weeks of just Mummy (or 'me' as it seems to have changed into).

SazZaVoom · 13/11/2009 06:33

Morning

All quiet here until 6am from DD2. Fingers x'd DD1 is dry as she has had 5am wakes for the last few days

TS LOL at the red devil - just sounds like a man talking to me

Good talking from snotmonster. All still Dak here - universal word. Although we were reuquested to join her in the kitchen the other day where she was mightily proud of having moved the plastic chairs to the door in order to bring them into the lounge for Waybuloo

Queen - were you all quiet??

SazZaVoom · 13/11/2009 07:36

Hurrah - 7.15 and dry nappy from DD1

Are you all having a lie in?

TwilightSurfer · 13/11/2009 07:48

UP with a Croupy baby here. She went down about 6:45p and at 11:25p woke very distressed, crying and sounding like a seal. Caught DH off guard as he went in to settle her. I went through the same thing with DD1 2 years ago...or maybe it was 3. He was gone and I panicked. We were almost to the hospital before the nurse called me back that time. After this second wake up I'm wishing we'd gone this time as well. I don't like the sound of restricted breathing. R seems bothered by it and restless. Her doctors office opens at 8a. We'll see if I last that long.

Lie in? Lie in???? You must be kidding I have slept 45 minutes since I was here last. DD's fever got totally out of hand and we rang OOh and they kindly sent us a doc with a bag of tricks. She just has a bad virus but told us not to google her symptoms or she would have swine flu which she does not have in his opinion. He gave her some calpol and then told us to give her neurofen in exactly 2 hours awake or not, then calpol 2 hours after that until 8 this morning then ring and see if they want to see her at our surgery. DD's fever finally broke at 6.45 and she slept for 25mins before she started yelling peppa, cat peppa, cat She won't eat or drink anything and our surgery have side SF don't come in someone will ring. aaarrrrggggghhhh it is going to be one of thos days! She is now lying on my legs watching Peppa pig.

DH has to meet a client at Bristol Airport at 8.45 so is already away and he has the same thing at DD so will be less than useless today poor boy. We have not a drop of milk, no bananas, no bread and the ILs are not awake yet to get us some.

Sazzles - good to hear you had a better night.

Steaky - Keep strong and resist you don't want to get hurt again.

TS - hope croupy girl is better in the morning.
