SazZaVoom · 11/11/2009 22:05

Oops, please don't get too het up, remember you are 'with child'

LOL at the travelling bra . Your trip sounded wonderful dizzy (excluding illness]. So pleased it all worked out well

oopsandbabycoconut · 11/11/2009 22:08

Pert - they haven't been too bad for novelty cakes, these are supposed to be serious cakes. I have to make and ice a single tier wedding cake in January [terrified]

Dizzy - get on with it!

dizzydixies · 11/11/2009 22:09

Ooh ladies.
Can I say a MASSIVE MASSIVE thank you to all of you lovely lot for the help and support tonight.
DP is under strict instructions not to pop his head in Seb's room under any circumstances. He was a bit about all this at first, until I said we can't go on the way things have been and he agreed that it would have to be done sometime. Pointed out to him what you have all said about it being rough at first but that when it's all done it will be so much better than what it is now.
I popped out to the corner shop to pick up a few cans of beer (no wine here tonight ) apparently Seb started moaning in a tired way, but DP left him be he has had another crying fit about 10 minutes ago, but all is quiet again now. I sat and huffed into my beer rather than go up and do something. Strangely it's harder with DP here
Oh and the letter turned out to be our invite to DP's cousin's wedding in Feb. I should join the hotmamas methinks.

QueenofDreams · 11/11/2009 22:53

Oh and I feel I ought to say thanks to miamla as well for giving me a very MN kick up the butt today.

QueenofDreams · 11/11/2009 22:56

Oh and ALBS - I don't have your number. The death by drowing of my phone means I have lost ALL of my contacts. All gone.
Actually, might still have it in my FB inbox somewhere.

QueenofDreams · 11/11/2009 22:56

Oh and also forgot to say to pert - I'm loving QueenAnne.

RedLentil · 12/11/2009 00:23

Ann, you are doing brilliantly. If dp starts to fuss later, don't be afraid to introduce time out.

Can't call you Queen Anne I'm afraid, as would have to remove virtual Che Guevara persona pyjamas ...

I would be aggravated about dh stealing the computer earlier but as he decided to research a new laptop (ie one that works to replace an overheating laptop and a crumbling desktop)I will let him off.

Though I did point out to him that I was much happier to discuss the finer points of processors and ram than the last time we bought one.

Weighing up comparisons and and disappearing for hours to try computers out with your dad while your wife is sitting on a rubber ring with a third degree tear, breastfeeding your firstborn, is not ideal really. [hmmm]

I got a very Northern harrumph admission of error there.

I legendarily don't do grudges, but there can't be any harm in having a small pet one.

Poppy, I'm really glad to hear that bil is working hard on his recovery. Sorry to hear that mil is ill though. What a trying time for you all.

Dizzy, NY sounds fabulous.

VG - glad the decision is made re ds's school. Give him best wishes from us for his new start.

Oops, mucho respect for doing any kind of studying in the early stages of pregnancy. Did i say how much I love the name Hector (think that was being discussed when I was at pils)

RedLentil · 12/11/2009 00:24

Dizzy, am I right in thinking you got a Sony Vaio? Is it good?

TwilightSurfer · 12/11/2009 00:37

yay queenanne

Wow you were chatty yesterday has taken me ages to catch up.

TS good to see you back - I've also asked to be part of Secret Santa - Buckets thanks for the 'clarification' my head hurts now!

Dizzy your trip sounds great despite DH's illness - hope you are getting some rest now and are recovering from your illness. We seem to share the same affliction re hair and DS looks to be going the same way - it's made 10 times worse here because of the humidity - I go out in the morning with my hair looking vaguely passable but 1 minute out the door and it turns into a frizzy mess!

Queenie hope your resolve kept up/wasn't tested too much. I wanted to post a few stern words too a la Miamla or maybe I was just a bit as super clingy DS would never let me escape upstairs for long enough plus is way too much of a danger to himself for me to let him out of my sight!

DS had his MMR & chicken pox jab yesterday afternoon he screamed whilst the jab went in but was quickly placated with a biscuit from the doctor

Am feelilng v.emotional at the moment. I was welling up in M&S yesterday as they were playing Christmas music (for some reason Driving Home for Christmas really got me going) and I was feeling very homesick. I had to make a quick exit and so didn't get what I was in there for. I went to a friends for pizza and wine last night so feeling a little better if a bit hungover this morning. At least no 3am wake up this morning although I was on early duty as tis DH birthday today. He was very pleased when DS took him his card in bed (I didn't quite trust him with a cup of tea and he'd have just eaten the toast!).

QueenofDreams · 12/11/2009 07:53

Morning ladies.
Well after I last posted here last night there was one more crying moment, and then he slept till 7 this morning when he got woken by DP's repeatedly snoozed alarm. I guess I have to accept that the repeated snooze is back now that it's cold.
Seb is currently sitting in his highchair eating breakfast. His nappy smells extremely garlicky this morning.
Scrambled egg for breakfast here. No toast though as our toaster has decided to die.

RedLentil · 12/11/2009 08:34

What no elation qod ?

That sounds like a fantastic night!!

dd2 reacted to her mmr and was violently sick at 1. Awake till three in a hyper 'sconed' kind of way.

hotterpotter · 12/11/2009 08:37

That's great news Queenie I bet you feel great today, or were you awake all night waiting for him to make a noise?

miamla · 12/11/2009 08:40

yay!!! well done Seb!!!!!
You've done it once Ann so you can do it again. The others are all right, the next few nights will be hard but he WILL get the idea and you WILL have your evenings back

Just don't make me get my soap box out again

hots i'm v intrigued about your travelling underwear!

SazZaVoom · 12/11/2009 08:55

Hurrah to Seb, and to you Ann

I think it was good he woke at 7 because you can start afresh with structured food and nap times and hopefully he will then be ready for bed by 7.30-8is tonight

Off out now, but hope your day goes well
