Good to see you back grumpy (great name change Btw) . Sorry to see you are feeling rubbish ( I was worried, as I;m sure others were by your FB post a week or so ago) but things can only get better now , I hope? I have no experience of PND but I know others on here are going through/have gone through it so am sure they will be along to offer their words of wisdom. I can only offer virtual wine and partake in the group hug.

Just a thought, maybe you should employ a sexybuilder to assist with la maison. Do you know any?

runningmonkey · 03/11/2009 19:47

caaaaaaaaaaa big hugs back at ya lovely lady x

febes hug for you too. Must be v hard but I bet your sis knows you would be there if you could. Given she's going to be in hospital for a little while how about putting together a little care package with some UK trash mags, choc, etc in and sending it to her, bet she'd really appreciate it.

Right really have to go now, DH has to do work xx

runningmonkey · 03/11/2009 19:48

Oh yeah, I forgot earlier to say a massive thanks for all the birthday messages, really lovely to read them all on FB on Fri

Febesisalittlefirecracker · 03/11/2009 19:49

Grumpy Lovely to hear from you. We have missed you so much. Sorry to hear about the PND but it sounds like you are getting sorted and looking after yourself.

Wheeeeeefizzbangoldcaaaaaaaa · 03/11/2009 19:50

LadyH

The only builder I know has no teeth. Not sexy.

Must go and see to baby of beauty and will be back shortly

SparklerMaker · 03/11/2009 19:55

Aw grumpy (can't be bothered to type your new name!) have a big, sloppy, totally un-mumsnetty welcome back hug. We have missed you! So sorry to hear about the PND and the trouble you're having with the house - the latter alone would be enough to send me into fits of despair. Don't forget that whenever you need to offload we are here.

Well, I was hoping for a leisurely catch up this evening but H has only just gone down and I can hear DH coming in. We had a bit of a grump last night so I think I better go be a good wife & be attentive and all that.

Belgianchocolates · 03/11/2009 20:25

grumpy WELCOME BACK! Sorry I didn't acknowledge you earlier, I'd done an unnoticed xpost, lol. We've all missed you here. I'd been worried about you too. Glad you've now accepted what's the matter, now you can do something about it. about the house too. I hope you find something elso soon. Sounds like you're enjoying your life down there, appart from the PND of course.

febes I didn't realise your sis was in NZ. A nice surprise package from the UK would definitely cheer her up

sparkle Enjoy your evening with your DH.

smokytom · 03/11/2009 20:49

Pleased to see that the caaaa is back, sorry to hear you've been suffering from PND and had problems with the house- hopefully things will improve quickly

Febes Your sis is lucky to have such a thoughtful sis- runnings idea about sending a care package is a good one

BonfireByTheStormySea · 03/11/2009 20:49

grumpy welcome back i'd been keeping a look out for your news on FB but pants to hear about the house probs in addition to the PND

G is the incredible NON-sleeping baby tonight... she's had about 4 boobs since 6pm and has stayed asleep for all of about 45mins so far... so she's now next to me on the sofa. Her cheeks are all flushed but no temp so guessing it's teething... going to fish out the teething gel and see if she settles

Belgianrockets · 03/11/2009 20:58

Just testing my bonfire name change

I hope the non sleepy babies become sleepy soon.

APennyForTheMomi · 03/11/2009 21:01

evening all.
grumps, so glad to see you on here. like the others, was a bit worried about you when I saw your FB status.

so sorry to hear about the PND - do you get out of the house at all? do you see other people? I know you love France but do wish you were closer so we could have a good natter or see another graphically violent yet entertaining film with our babes .

Give yourself a break as you have a lot on your plate and you're doing so much! glad to hear the girls are getting along well too. hope all gets sorted with the house.

running, glad you had a good weekend, sounds lovely to me - I love Wales!

Jael, H has been grumpy lately as well. I figure it's teething, weaning, growing etc. or is there a full moon?

Belgian, like the name change!

headless, it's ok to remain Headless .

smokytom · 03/11/2009 21:02

Just heard J wake and self-settle over the monitor- amazing - and he is sleeping in his own room for only the 3rd time ever!

smokytom · 03/11/2009 21:03

sorry if that sounded smug but when I heard him wake I was waiting for the screams

muddleddaizy · 03/11/2009 21:20

Evening ladies, I am home alone (with the dc's tucked up in bed) and am turning into a right wuss as CSI Miami is scaring me!!

I had so many things I was going to type and typical I can't remember anything! Bah I hate this baby brain!

Momi sorry to hear about your rubbish boss! I have to let my work know that I am going back at some point!

Sorry also for all those who are sick or their dc's are sick.

I have a grumpy nonsleeping baby during the day! DS1 hs been at nursery for the past 2days, so goodness knows what's going to happen when I've got both of them tomorrow!

Welcome back grumpy and sorry to hear about the PND. Flippin sorry to hear about your PND, hope things are on the up for you both.

All the FIL stories made me laugh. Thankfully mine lives on the other side of the world, but he's a good guy. It's my step MIL who is the nightmare.

Right now I'm wittering and getting distracted by CSI, so I'd better post this now!!

pulaparkin · 03/11/2009 21:21

smokytom- don't worry- I would be amazed if S did that- i always have to go to him when he wakes. And i keep putting off moving him to his own room!

caaaaaa- sorry can't be bothered spelling out your new name . Sorry to hear you are suffering with PND too, on top of the house troubles. Keep in touch and I hope everything works out for you and yours.

I felt very sorry for S today - he was screaming as he pooed - not sure if it is constipation or he just finds it difficult. He does lots of grunting at other times, and very little comes out. So i gave him a meal of prunes and apple juice to get things going, and it went a bit much the other way, and caused more screaming . I am thinking of speaking to my HV - although DD and DS1 had constipation now and again, DS2 seems much worse although guess it might be because he is still just shy of 6 months .

pulaparkin · 03/11/2009 21:27

Oh and I have been doing lots of tummy massage, leg cycling and he has a warm bath every evening, which should all help his "movements". Maybe i should start giving cool boiled water with meals too. I have started reducing solids and giving more milk to find the best balance for him.

Mmumpowderplot · 03/11/2009 21:36

Hello all. Just checking in and seeing whether this post works, after the previous ones haven't worked. Bah humbug (think it might be too early in the season for that last comment.)

flippineckitsnearlychristmas · 03/11/2009 21:36

Evening all.

Grumpy - hello, and have a great big hug from me. Not sure how much you've been reading of our chat, but I've admitted it too. Thinking of you.

pula - Not sure if it's helpful or not, but DD1 used to scream when she pooed. It started not long after weaning began and lasted nearly a year. She wasn't constipated, and there was nothing medically wrong (had her checked on numerous occasions), she just hated pooing, and she has dramatic tendencies! Anyway, it gradually stopped.

Loving the new names, not changing mine cos I was so pleased with my festive effort! Special mention for Pukester - rofl.

Febesisalittlefirecracker · 03/11/2009 21:45

Pula My DD used to cry when pooing in the first few months of weaning even when not constipated. I give R a sipper cup of water with every meal and he has a few sips. You could try putting a prune in the water so it becomes diluted prune juice or a bit of apple juice diluted with water if he is constipated.

Jael · 03/11/2009 21:47

Lovely to see you back grumpy sorry to hear the news about your house and the PND I had PND with DD and this time so I know what you're going through...I'm still on my meds. I'm glad you're family are ok and baby s

Pula aww poor thing if you're LO is constipated.

I've seen the HV about J's bottom,4 weeks ago for his "nappy rash" and she gave me this cream, it's bright yellow, I can't remember the name. But now I don't know what to do, he's in so much pain, and it's bleeding at times. I think this may be adding to his grumpiness, if my bum was like his I'd be grumpy too!!

pulaparkin · 03/11/2009 22:01

jael- is it metanium cream? I find it works really quickly, within a day or two. You don't need much of it- just a thin layer. If it's not working for J, maybe you should see your GP and get something different? Poor thing

pulaparkin · 03/11/2009 22:04

febes/flippineck- thanks for the advice. I have been giving prune puree but maybe prune/apple juice with water at each meal would keep things moving. I hope this doesn't go on a year flip- not sure I could cope- not surprised you got it checked out!

llaregguy · 03/11/2009 22:06

Jael my mother always recommends putting egg white on to form a barrier. No idea if it works or not but worth a try?

Sorry to post and run but want (and need!) a bath.

BonfireByTheStormySea · 03/11/2009 22:10

evening... G asleep happily now... phew

Jael i agree with pula... the metanium is great stuff but if it hasn't made any difference it's worth going back to the docs. Is the affected skin really shiny? Red too with any spots? If so it could be a simple case of thrush and easily cleared with canesten ds got it once and the doc prescribed cream and it was improved within 12 hrs and gone within 36hrs... ds had the shiny red skin but not the classic white head spots they get apparently.

Belgianrockets · 03/11/2009 22:40

I was thinking the same, jael If the nappy rash doesn't go with the cream, then it might be thrush or something else that could do with being checked by your GP.

pula Nothing to add really, hope the prunes and extra fluid help.

C woke up tonight for the first time in her little life. She never wakes once asleep. I ended up taking her in bed with me and feeding + cuddling her back to sleep. Poor thing is really suffering with her cold. I've got a eucalyptus chest rub that's working really really well though. Her breathing eases as soon as it's on. It's the coughing that's bothering her the most now. I hope it goes soon. She's had it a week now and doesn't seem to be getting any better.
