zombie sorry to hear you're poorly too. Hope you're having a better day today and not totally worn out with it..

smokytom · 03/11/2009 12:57

Thanks BonfireBTSS

Trying out bonfire night name

APennyForTheMomi · 03/11/2009 13:08

what do y'all think of this name? I've tried on a few and think this is the closest fit...

APennyForTheMomi · 03/11/2009 13:19

warning: mememe post

like prob most of you, I haven't stopped all morning. It's Quiet Time in momi's house, I've got an hour's worth of tidying up/laundry/dishes to do and having 10 min MN/FB rest before dd12&3 need my attention.

also looked on my email to see my boss' reply. she barely acknowledged her shortcomings except to say 'i'm sorry you took this the wrong way'... . i won't go into the email but she's rubbish. she says she's 'flat out' so can't sort out KIT days yet also didn't answer my queries about job share, mat pay clawback, etc.

i've got nowhere with her. big, big sigh.

APennyForTheMomi · 03/11/2009 13:22

smokeytom, fi, jenn hope all ye who are ill are feeling better now (or at least very soon!).

BonfireByTheStormySea · 03/11/2009 13:23

smokytom & APennyForTheMomi great names

Pukester · 03/11/2009 13:36

Well I have half of what the dc have all had/got. DD2 now has a fever too, and the other dc didn't have that. She's been asleep for 3 hours now.

Sorry you're not feeling well smokey Momi What a crap boss. What about writing to her superior? Don't let her push you out before you are ready.....unless of course you get a job earning twice as much working half the hours

APennyForTheMomi · 03/11/2009 13:43

ah, pukester, hope you're well and dd2's fever goes down .

funny thing is, my boss copied my lovely HR mgr on her reply so it's all in writing. this indicates to me that there is nothing wrong with what she's said so maybe i'm really taking this too personally. but i do think she's wrong about a few things including my 'inefficiency' (I spewed the facts back at her). i justdon't quite understand now what is transpiring from the Operations point of view.

I think I will give my HR mgr a ring when girls are at nursery this week.

BonfireByTheStormySea · 03/11/2009 13:47

momi so you took things the wrong way did you? well the rest of us must have done too.. never met her obviously but she seems like a disorganized seagull kind of manager.. you know randomly flying around shi##ing on those below. useless for you though

Febesisalittlefirecracker · 03/11/2009 13:49

Momi Cute new name. Sorry your boss is a twunt. She doesn't deserve you. I too am having going back to work fears. I went for my interview thing yesterday which went fine but it was so stressful leaving the dc (and it was only for 4 hours) I really got myself worked up and DD picked up on my stress and was a nightmare. I hope it all just falls into place and we earn enough to get by.

My sister is now 33 weeks with identical twin boys and has been admitted to hospital until they are born. She had 3 days of monitoring last week but twin 1 is still having periods of high heartrate so she has too stay in now. She has a 2year old DS and a dance school and the annual recital is on sunday so she is a bit stressed but I might have 2 new nephews soon. They are both around the 4 pound mark so they want them to grow a bit bigger but they don't want her to go into labour as it will cause the babies too much stress. Our granny is an identical twin and she was born on the 11th of Novemeber so it would be nice if they were born then.

Both my DCs have been asleep for an hour and 15 mins so far its lovely.

BonfireByTheStormySea · 03/11/2009 13:56

x post momi & jenn.. sorry you've got bit of the c

APennyForTheMomi · 03/11/2009 13:56

big, big sigh.
it seems like so many of us are going through rubbish times with employment/maternity leave. i'm so sorry for all of this (not that it's my fault but just sorry in general iykwim).

exciting febes about the twins! hope your sister doesn't get too discouraged and stressed.

i love all the Bonfire Night names! they are making me .

BonfireByTheStormySea · 03/11/2009 14:07

Febesisalittlefirecracker exciting and stressful about the twins but also you'll be trying not to worry about them all too. At least your sis is in the best place to keep an eye on them though.

BonfireByTheStormySea · 03/11/2009 14:14

oh and your name febes made me

SparklerMaker · 03/11/2009 15:26

Just seeing if name change worked.... H crying... back later

runningscared · 03/11/2009 15:41

What's this, I go away for a few days and everyone gets new names

just bookmarking as on phone and it's difficult to type sorry to hear of all the illness

will be back later x x

HeadlessLadyH · 03/11/2009 16:27

Loving the name changes. Really must give it some thought, but am tempted to stay as HeadlessLady for a longterm name. and then there is the christmas name change to consider too.....

momi your boss sounds awful. When are you planning on returning? If you can, why not leave it a week or so and then try again. If that gets you nowhere, go above her?

febes gosh twins. How exciting and scary all at the same time. At least she can maybe get some good rest before the arrivals?

Just had R weighed this afternoon. Bang on the 50th centile at 17lb 9oz.

Belgianchocolates · 03/11/2009 17:55

Evening everyone,

Sorry to hear about all the illnesses/difficult managers etc... Hope everyone gets better soon, errr and I'll made a voodoo doll of those awkard managers

*febes. I hope your sister's little ones can hang on a little while longer. Hopefully she'll get to see her time there as a time of rest. Buy her plenty of books. Not book tokens as one of the mums I looked after got from everyone

Love all the name changes. I'm desperately trying to think of something clever for myself. I'll change my name as soon as I've got something!

I managed to get the house ready for my visitors tomorrow. After that I went to a local slingmeet, which was fun.

Jael · 03/11/2009 18:06

Evening everyone,
How exciting for your sister to be having twins Febes Momi I'm so sorry about your boss being so mean

Took J to his first session of baby massage today. He loved half of it lol the legs and feet part, wasn't too keep on the upper body, but loved his face+head being touched
He has been the grumpiest baby today! He has only had 30minutes sleep since he got up this morning, so he has been so angry and whingy because he's soooo tired, I've tried everything, and normally he'll go down awake and self soothe, today not even rocking him will settle him off

I managed to get 3 loads of washing done, dried and put away this morning while he was chirpier and before his grump started, and cleaned all of the house. Thank goodness, because I haven't been able to do anything from 12oclock onwards because of Mr lol he hasn't even wanted to play

DP is making beef olives for tea, so I'm off for now, to start the bedtime regime I'm sooo tired today...

runningmonkey · 03/11/2009 18:46

Hi all,
Got 10 mins to chat while DH does bathtime so thought I'd attempt a little bit of catch-up, not sure I'll manage to catch everything that's happened over the last few days so please don't take offence if I miss anyone out

momi your boss sounds like a right beee-yatch. Make sure the nice HR person has seen her original email as well as her reply.

febes hope all is well with your sis. Is she here or in NZ? I was only in for 3 days pre-A's arrival but trashy mags went down well and made me popular amongst the other ladies on the antenatal ward too

Jenn/puke hope the crypto goes soon. FI and Sophietom hope you are feeling better too.

FILs oh how I lol'ed mine is pretty lazy too. He is retired and MIL still works full time as a teacher (and commutes 40 mins each way to work) but he still sees cooking and cleaning as her job! I keep threatening to buy him a cookery course for his birthday. He does not find it amusing

Jael I feel your pain! A hasn't slept properly today either so has been v clingy. I've found the sling v handy today (belgian fyi have been using the moby wrap again and A really seems to like it now!)

looby hope your mum is ok

weightloss I am so fed up, I feel like I still look pg. Am going to join WW or SW tomorrow night, but can't decide which to do. I have done SW before and lost about 1.5stone, never done WW tho. Any thoughts?

A has also developed a new high pitched 'scream' which she seems to be using for happy, sad, annoyed, pretty much all the emotions. It is soooooo piercing, the neighbours must think I've been torturing her! The two bottom teeth are through now too, she is loving chewing on cucumber sticks, has swallowed a bit too if the pips in the poo are anything to go by

We had a lovely weekend in N Wales with my brother, went for a fab walk in the hills on Sat and then a v blustery walk along the promenade at Llandudno on Sunday. Where my DB lives is so beautiful, I am so and didn't want to come back to boring flat E Anglia at all. If only I could speak Welsh I would be trying to get a job there right now.

Right, feeding time approaches, best be off. Prob won't be back later as DH has work to do on the 'pooter. Night all xx

Jael · 03/11/2009 19:21

Running
DP does SW and has done for the past 12+ months, he's lost 3 stone I've also done it too on and off. I find it less restrictive than WW, counting calories malarky, and like the fact you can have "syns" and still lose weight. Were into our red and green days, and DD eats the same meals as us too I have my chocolate etc and other naughty things. Although recently I have put on a couple of pounds which I am planning to shift before christmas, I havn't been following SW properly, so I've fell off the wagon abit.

BTW Running Your weekend away sounds lovely, it's nice to get away every so often

J has found himself a little "fake laugh" it's very funny! He laughs and giggles but his "fake laugh" he does when he wants attention, he basically laughs at nothing!

runningmonkey · 03/11/2009 19:32

Wow, A asleep in record time, must be the lack of nap

Thanks for that Jael that's what I was thinking about SW as I know the plan and guess it hasn't changed too much in the last few years. DH doesn't need to lose weight but it is easy for us to all eat the same thing. Also, the venue is a little bit further away than the WW one so I guess it makes sense to do that as I'll get more exercise cycling over there too

Wheeeeeefizzbangoldcaaaaaaaa · 03/11/2009 19:40

hello, am I still welcome?

I'm so sorry, I haven't posted for ages, I have finally realised I've got a crashing case of PND, my world fell apart the other day, I just went to pieces and I finally realised

I feel better just admitting this. This has to be the worst I've had it but I know that I can get through it. I'm not going to take anything for it, bloody French Docs will no doubt give me suppositories and I'm sorry but I'm just not shoving anything up there!

The house here is a disaster - there is work needed everywhere, which we couldn't see when we viewed it and I think the couple who own it are doing a runner, judging by some of the phone calls I've had. I'm looking for a new house here for us, although I loathe the house, I adore Adriers, the village and want to stay, plus the girls have surprised me by settling incredibly well, incredibly quickly. Their French is coming on a treat!

So anyway, I know many have been ill, I hope you're all ok. S is divine but non-sleeping! She's huge and fat and jolly (but with a temper) and just fabulous. I think she may be the most worshipped baby in history, we're all completely in thrall to her .

A HUGE group hug, whether people want it or not, along with emotional, muffled burbling along the lines of 'you guys are, like, just todally awesome'.

Febesisalittlefirecracker · 03/11/2009 19:42

My sister is in NZ so I feel really that I'm not there helping with her DS and dropping trashy mags and loads of books into her. I cried the day her DS was born as I wanted to be there so much. I don't normally feel homesick as I feel very at home here but at times like this I can't wait to move home. Not too much longer....

Belgianchocolates · 03/11/2009 19:44

running Slings are a godsend with grumpy babies (and in tiny villages where all shops have step to get into or are tiny, lol). Sounds like you had a great time in Wales. I hope you didn't have too much trouble with the weather this weekend.

jael You must have so much energy! It takes me a week to clean my whole house and you do it in a morning! C likes laughing too. The funniest thing is that she'll laugh when I laugh, even if it's a fake laugh. Like just because she hears a laugh, she's got to join in. It's so funny.

Bedtime now for the dcs. Will be back later.
