Problem is Buzzy, too many houses up for sale and lots of new builds being offered on shared equity schemes.
Your mum's house is lovely I would buy if I could emigrate to New Zealand (I've heard it is fantastic living there!), but unlike your fuckwit ex, DH wouldn't dream of emigrating and leaving his DS behind. How is your DD1 now, did her dad properly explain and apologise for what he said?

BouncingTurtle · 18/06/2010 13:53

new ad Updated now!

buzzybee · 19/06/2010 11:24

Does anyone remember what it felt like the very first few days after conception? Have a friend who had IVF a week ago (3rd round) and said she was convinced it hadn't worked because she felt like her period was coming. I didn't want to say anything, but could that be a good sign? I do so hope it'll work this time for her.

buzzybee · 19/06/2010 11:31

Oh and BT that's very interesting. Am doing some work with the Govt Housing agency here in NZ at the moment through work and they want to introduce those sorts of schemes here. I'm always sceptical about interfering with the market and the potential impacts.

And your DH is absolutely right too!!! If only I was on better terms with exH I could suggest he and newW buy your house Sadly for my folks they really don't want to move and the house is very lovely, but its just not very practical. Apart from the stairs and garden, they have to drive to get to any shops. The place they live in is 25mins from Wellington and is kind of a seaside village and quite "posh" so the locals don't want anything as "common" as a superette in the neighbourhood. Which is all very well except that the bus only comes every 30mins and its a mile from their house to the bus-stop. I'm hoping they move somewhere DD1 can easily get to after school (not being self-centred at all!)

BouncingTurtle · 19/06/2010 20:36

Buzzy - they can buy it... I could do the prawns in the curtain rail trick ;)

cazzybabs · 20/06/2010 10:38

Blimey i haven't posted ina while...so much to catch up on....

strandedatsea - glad your friend got away. Hope she stays strong!!!

I am OK - still fat I am slightly worried the db is breach .... seeing the midwife on Tuesday..there is something solid in encroaching my lung space...fingers crossed its knees. It has th hiccups at the momnet!

Evie is fine - I have sent her and the other 2 swimming with dh whilse I -plan- mumsnet

we have a lovely new bathroom -- I keep looking at it going "AHHHHH"

3 weeks till the end of term - HORRAH

strandedatsea · 20/06/2010 20:53

Well done NZ - see Buzzy, I told you to have faith!

buzzybee · 22/06/2010 09:56

Clara - you believed and you were right! Now we have the amazing possibility we might make it to the 2nd round. A bit unlikely perhaps but no more so than beating Italy really.

Just read your friend's latest blog. I'm so happy she's doing well. Isn't it amazing that she can still feel guilty about hurting her H?

Nice to see you cazzy!

FreakoidOrganisoid · 24/06/2010 16:15

I have bathroom envy cazzy . It looks lovely.

Had a good hol and a great time at ascot, once a few drinks had been consumed we were for some reason getting strangers to guess our ages. Quite a few put me at the 23/24/25 range which was very flattering-I might look like I have a third pregnancy atm but I look young!

DS seems to have calmed down a bit and has been in pants for 4 days with one accident. Best thing is I've done nothing, he just got dressed wearing them and didn't have accidents so I've let him carry on. Now I just need to get dd dry at night

cazzybabs · 24/06/2010 19:28

umm you might have bathroom envy I hae blood pressure envy...it has shot up....I am only 34 weeks but is mega high....my gp friend was shocked at how high it is...

I really really really need it to come down....I have 2 more weeks at work and the thought of either having another cs now or being in hospital fills me with horror and wakes me up at night....

anyay Evie is currently in the new bath splashing - "Mummy I am walking through the jungle. Look at the red bird." Oh now she wants to get out " MUmmy can you get me out. Mummy put down the computer and help me out OK"

strandedatsea · 25/06/2010 16:46

cazzy - oh poor you. I'm afraid I know little about blood pressure and how to make it come down, do you just need to relax (ha ha, haven't you got three other children?).

Only 6 weeks to go! When is your due date? (so excited about another baby. Got very broody watching Stacey's baby being born on EastEnders via the I-player last night)

Clairey - glad you had a good holiday - I saw some pics on FB - where did you go again?

buzzybee · 27/06/2010 09:53

O cazzy that's not good. Have you had high BP with previous PGs? Are there some drugs you can take when you're PG for high BP?

Clairey, fab photos! Glad you had a lovely time. Well done to DS

Have managed to put my back out picking up DD2. First time in my life I've done it "properly" and its not nice! Will go and see a physio tomorrow as really want to be right by 2 weeks when DD1 and I have a ski trip booked. At least have worked out what sets it off and if I avoid doing that particular movement I seem to be kind of OK. Unfortunately the worst possible thing I can do is my normal nappy-changing position so currently trying to do nappy changes with DD standing up! Perhaps she'd like to copy clairey's DS...

cazzybabs · 27/06/2010 11:00

Buzzy - hope your back gets better

I am going to see a doc to (hopefully) get some drugs as I don't have Pre-eclampsia. Also she thinks I am anemic as pulse is high...sigh

It is also blooming hot ... roll on the end of term!

FreakoidOrganisoid · 27/06/2010 13:17

Eek cazzy sounds a worry but at least it isn't pre-eclampsia.

Ouch for the back buzzy. Hope you're able to ski.

Clara we went to Portugal, to a very exclusive golf resort in the middle of nowhere. Vairy naice and fantastic scenery but slightly lacking in young men people and things to do if not a golfer. Great for a weeks relaxation though, and dd didn't seem to mind that the pool was freezing.

The first day ds was very brave about going in the water and was paddling on the steps, I turned around to talk to dd and next thing ds was frantically kicking his arms and legs and floating out to the middle of the pool (was wearing his float jacket). I was USELESS, just called to him to come back then though oh yeah he can't swim so had to get in the water (where I flapped around for a bit cos it was so cold), grabbed his toe and yanked him back in-there was no way I was going any deeper My mum was wetting herself laughing at me worrying more about the temperature of the water than saving my poor drowning child. I like to think that had he actually been in real danger I'd have dived straight in but I can't say for sure

BouncingTurtle · 27/06/2010 16:39

Wow FO!! But it does sound like he was coping okay but glad you pulled him out!

Buzzy - I hope your back is better before your trip!

Cazzy - hello! Wow 34 weeks, sorry to hear about the BP. Yes I think the advice is probably plenty of rest but that is easier said than done!

strandedatsea · 27/06/2010 23:48

Clairey - you definitely would have dived in if he hadn't been wearing his jacket and had actually gone under, instinct would have kicked in.

Dd2 loves her float jacket but we are starting to pursuade her to go without it for short periods and she's been swimming a few feet at a time. It helps that we have bought her some goggles so she doesn't mind so much if her face dips under water.

She is such a little girl though and keeps telling me that swimming on her own is "howrible". Funny that as she wants to do everything else "by herself".

FreakoidOrganisoid · 28/06/2010 12:36

Hope so Clara

DD found her jacket slowed her down a bit. She was really starting to get the hang of swimming by the end of the week. DS is terrified of the water so it was a real shame he fell in on the first day cos he had been being so brave.

buzzybee · 29/06/2010 11:09

That's such a shame clairey. Isn't it amazing how much they can advance in a week? DD1 basically learned to swim through successive annual holidays in Australia with daily access to a pool.

Cazzy, any news on the BP? Is it good or bad that its not pre-eclampsia? Good I guess but I'm sure you'd like to know how to deal with it!

Clara we'll all very proud of "our boys" despite the fact they didn't make it to the 2nd round. Bit of the diff feeling here I suspect to England - boo Germany! 3 draws for NZ just wasn't enough altho I think we effectively eliminated Italy.

I went to see a physio yesterday and the improvement today is amazing. I'm still being careful about bending over to pick things up but definitely on the mend which is great. One more session with physio should do it hopefully!

cazzybabs · 01/07/2010 22:23

buzy - saw doctor on yesterday and she has given me some drugs to hopefully lower it. Although am at risk of hypertension in later life as well .

It is all a bit of a bugger as I hate taking drugs - and google revels they do cross the placenta but better than having a stroke or stressing I am going to end up for weeks in hospital

FreakoidOrganisoid · 02/07/2010 17:51

Hope they work Cazzy, and also that only minimal amounts cross the placenta.

DrSkidaddle · 02/07/2010 20:43

Hi everyone,

Haven't been on in ages but have of course been missing you!

clara - glad all is going well with your friend

cazzy - poor you - hope the drugs do the trick. I hate taking drugs too but better that than putting yourself at serious risk. Can't believe you only have 6 weeks to go!

buzzy - glad your back is better after the physio. DH is obsessed with physios as he is having regular sessions after his knee op - he thinks they are miracle workers...

clairey - glad you had a lovely holiday although eek at poor DS. I also think I would stand there shrieking in an emergency so at least you are not alone! at getting random strangers to guess your ages! I just rely on my lovely DD who keeps telling people I am 21 or 22 - and i didn;t even coach her

All well with us - DS2 is on 98th percentile for weight and the average size of a 7 month old - although as the HV said, it is more width than height! He is gorgeous and smiley and an absolute delight if he'd bloody sleep.

We are moving house this week as well - have keys just need to buy carpets, curtains, white goods, furniture and then move it all in by next weekend while looking after 3DC - that's possible isn't it?

My brother (well SIL) had their 4th baby yesterday - they had 3 girls and this is their last one and it's a boy - everyone is so chuffed. Wierd because 4 girls would be lovely too but I think everyone was secretly hoping for a boy. He's called Rafferty which I think is cute but the rest of my family think is awful.

Oh and a little warning for anyone with an IUD who definitely doesn't want another baby.... my friend has a coil, also has PCOS and had problems conceiving her baby (now 12 months) - she has had one period since her baby and is now 3 months pregnant doesn't even come close. Apparently they are going to try and publish a paper about her beause it is so freakishly unlikely that she would be pg...

FreakoidOrganisoid · 03/07/2010 09:27

Er, completely im possible Skid

Can you order it all online and get it delivered to new house? Is it a proper grown up owned house then if you are having to get all that? Although I do have all of those things except the carpets which belong to my landlord...

Congrats on becoming an auntie again, saw on fb arcadie has as well.

at your friend's surprise pregnancy!

Any news on your friend's IVF buzzy?

I dreamt I was pregnant the other night and was a bit gutted when I woke up and realised I couldn't be (unless it was Jesus). But how on earth would I cope?! TBH right now I would rather have the baby making activity than a baby (no bloody chance [hmph])

Boast alert Yesterday I had to go to job centre so went to the works to get the dc a sticker book or something for while we were in there, dd chose a first maths book which was for ages 5-7 but insisted that was what she wanted so let her have it. Last night after she went to bed I picked it up to put away and she'd done half of it (and got it right)

cazzybabs · 03/07/2010 09:53

FreakoidOrganisoid - I would rather hae the baby than any activty

Well done your ds ... bless him!

seeing the midwife tomorrow so fingers crossed bp is lower

FreakoidOrganisoid · 03/07/2010 10:05

Yes...but 1) you are pregnant and
2) You have seen some activity a lot more recently than I have

Hope the bp is lower
