Oh Swali sorry sorry and sorry. Sending huge enormous hugs.

On the subject of porn - I've never seen any

I am absolutely ridiculous and I've been getting myself in a right two and eight about leaving O tomorrow night to go out for a curry. I've been trying to get him to take formula in a bottle (no way) and in a tippy cup (no way). I don't know what to do - I can't just go out and hope he won't need feeding. I think DH and I will just have to go for a pint at the end of the road instead of for a meal and then come back and have takeaway. I'd rather do that anyway and its my bloody birthday. Fed up with all this pressure to leave him - he's only 6 months old FFS - is it really that pathetic to not want to leave him at this stage?

The other upside to not going out for a meal is that I won't miss x-factor - don't think I'll mention that to DH though...

Feierabend · 23/10/2009 19:49

Loving Boff's post Swali poor you, you sound very down. I can relate to the 'He acts more like I'm an inconvenience than an amazing wife' thing, it's happened here too. Do you feel strong enough to sit down with him and talk it all over? Sending lots of hugs xxx

Nosebleeds - Hazel had them for a few days when she was only a few weeks old. NHS direct said it was probably related to a cold she had at the time and as long as they stopped fairly soon, and it wasn't lots of fresh light red blood, not to worry. Dark red is probably yesterday's blood mixed with snot, we had that too. But I'd still keep an eye on her Boo - I am sure you do anyway. Do you really feel it's never fun with a baby?

Thanks for links Gui. Never realised how lucky I am with my ILs - G&Ts, fine wines and yummy food and MIL is happy to take the girls in the morning so we can have a bit of a lie-in. Off to read that thread properly now!

Oh, Wriggly, sleeping through - I'd be happy for you if I wasn't so jealous

BEWiTcHEDnod · 23/10/2009 19:51

Fei - any news on DH's job? Have they given a timetable for when they'll be letting people know? How's H's chokiness been today?

Gui - at the weaning workshop they said 7 days without a poo is normal when starting to wean . As long as there are lots of wet nappies apparently its ok. O has been doing about four a day - big ones - they are rank.

Feierabend · 23/10/2009 19:53

Bicnod why don't you just take O with you and still have a meal out?

Feierabend · 23/10/2009 19:56

No news on the job front, DH is fairly confident they won't sack him though . Decisions will be made in the next couple of weeks or so.

Hazel hasn't had any more trouble - I think it was probably me being tired and over-reacting - has happened before

Guimuahahahahahaaaaaaa · 23/10/2009 20:35

Hurrah for one poo a week! I shall relax until Monday

Bicnod - it's your birthday, do what you want to do. If that is staying at home with DH and O, then that's fine! We had a lovely takeaway curry yesterday. I love going out for dinner, but takeaway = slobby clothes, no waiting between courses, trashy TV, no journey home etc.....

Swali - I've been trying to come up with something useful to say, but not really come up with much! So ((())) instead.

haha. enjoy! night night.

WrigglyFish · 24/10/2009 07:32

Oh I love Jon & Kate plus 8. But you know we are two seasons behind over here. Jon has run off with Kate's plastic surgeon's daughter. Gutted as I always thought if they could survive with 8 kids there was hope for any couple.

Gui -sorry to disappear in the middle of chatting about H's poos. The computer was urgently required for a World of Warcraft session so I got booted off

It is fairly common for babies to go through phases where they poo less. They are simply using all their food very efficiently to grow. If the 'nugget' looked very solid I would keep any eye on it. Maybe add a little prune juice (just a little!) to his food (Ella's kitchen do a squeezy tube with prune in, which makes this pretty easy).

Bicnod - I felt pressured to leave DD but never could until she was 8 or 9 months old. We used to take her out for meals, to the pub etc . She was actually quite happy to sleep in the pram in a crowded restaurant.

S is different. We took them both out a couple of months ago and he became almost hysterical until we got him home to his own bed. Definitely worth trying a night out with baby in tow to see if it works for you.

But if it is a takeaway curry and trashy telly you want on your birthday go for it. Sounds like utter bliss to me. Any room on the sofa for me too?

Hope you have a wonderful birthday whatever you do .

kazkissofdeath · 24/10/2009 07:57

wriggly : I know! its bad aint it. I watch some episodes online and it seems like all the fame got to them. I do think if they didnt get wrapped up in the show they would still be together.

I also love the duggers!!

WrigglyFish · 24/10/2009 09:08

Yes exactly - they went all 'Hollywood'. There were also rumours Kate was shagging her bodyguard.

Such a shame. Poor kids.

What are the duggers?

BEWiTcHEDnod · 24/10/2009 09:40

Morning girls - and happy birthday to me - Oscar slept through (10pm til 7.30am) as a special birthday treat for mummy - what a little star!

So tonight is sorted. DH and I are going for a quick drink on our own in the pub at the end of the road as soon as Oscar has gone to sleep and then we'll come back and have a curry with my friend who is babysitting and my brother who is working in the area for the next few days...

... trashy telly, takeaway and maybe even a beer of two. Bliss

Wriggly - always room for one more, pull up a cushion

mrsgboring · 24/10/2009 09:51

morning all another day snother 4am start. last night i fell asleep sitting up with my head resting on hands - hands were weirdly scrunched up so i couldnt move them for 20 mins afterwards they were so stiff.

swali big hugs to you, la boff talks sense as ever

bewitchednod another vote for take o with you if you fancy it. also we do lunch which works really well - it's cheaper and easier with kids. one wedding anniversary dh cdn't get the day off so ds1 and i met him for lunch near his work. i got pissed and bought a set of bunk beds on the way home (for ds1 not us )

gui i'd be reaching for the prunes tbh - a week seems a long time and my boys have always been distressed by anything over 3 days once solids added in.

very jealous of those with the channels to watch duggars etc - i have to content myself with supernanny usa, which is, oddly, far better and more interesting than uk version.

mrsgboring · 24/10/2009 09:53

x-post bewitched happy birthday to you!

Feierabend · 24/10/2009 09:57

Happy Birthday Bicnod! Sounds like a good plan for tonight, enjoy!

DD1 is bringing me croissants... better go

Guimuahahahahahaaaaaaa · 24/10/2009 10:00

Happy Birthday Bicnod!

Well, we finally had poo this morning, though the poor boy cried his heart out throughout, so it must have been very uncomfortable/ painful . The poo was very well-formed and solid. I don't know what I've given him that could have caused it to be so dry? He's been having a bit of my porridge in the mornings, with fruit puree in it. Oats are supposed to be full of soluble fibre, so I wouldn't have thought it could be this. Other than that, he only really eats fruit and veg. Any meat, bread etc that he's tried recently has only been given a cursory chew. He has some water when he eats, and plenty of milk. I think I'll leave it food-wise for today, and just give him milk, and then restart tomorrow with some plum, pear etc. How am I going to get calories into him if he's going to be constipated with anything other than fruit??? Perhaps I'll just feed him mango. Sugar calories are still calories!

Wriggly - thanks for the tip about the prune-in-a-tube! Google the Duggars!

Actually, can I just forget weaning and stick with just breast milk for ever?
