April 2007 - The one where we despair about coughs and colds; sickness bugs; cheeky behaviour and the amount of tinsel and fairy lights ALREADY in the shops!!

oh no runny hope you're ok

Sexonlegs · 13/11/2009 12:58

Hi loves

Runny, hope you are ok. Sounds painful.

Not much going on here, hence no posts!

Been in to school again today (as I do every Friday). Feel a bit low. B is so negative at times. The teacher put me with her group for maths which was a disaster. Teacher and I have agreed not a good plan!!

Hope everyone is ok xx

elkiedee · 13/11/2009 16:56

Our internet (and TV and phone) is down at home since yesterday evening, no idea when will be sorted so that's one reason why I'm not around. Also back at work, and non-work days are often even more manic.

Is T feeling better SPB?

Northernlurker · 13/11/2009 17:00

Hi all. No news here particularly. I'm progressing with Christmas shopping and very excited about being at home this year - i've ordered our turkey from the farm shop
We're thinking about getting a cat (or cats) - that's about it!

Bramshott · 13/11/2009 17:25

Feel like I only come on here with bad news, but heard today that one of DH's colleagues baby was born yesterday at 24 weeks . No more news yet. DH was quite chirpy about it as he's not very clued up about weeks gestation etc, until he saw my face and then realised that 24 weeks was NOT GOOD.

Northernlurker · 13/11/2009 17:29

Oh Bramshott - that's hard Look for Johnworfs posts on here though - her dd was a 24 week and a bit baby and she's doing really well now. It can happen.

Bramshott · 13/11/2009 17:43

I've just been looking at her pics actually NL [smile}. K is doing really well now, so clearly it can happen, but I imagine the next weeks and months are going to be hard. I don't really know them well, but I will try to make sure DH is as understanding as possible about his colleague (the dad) not being in work much.

Northernlurker · 13/11/2009 17:58

It might be nice if they get the guy a card or something as well - he has had a baby after all. It's a tricky line to walk but I've seen a lot of people say on here that they felt crap because their early baby didn't really get welcomed - just lots of people looking sombre. Obviously a card covered in bouncing healthy term babies wouldn't be helpful but recognising the new life is so important - especially when it's so fragile. I'm sure you'll set dh on the right path Bramshott!

Bramshott · 13/11/2009 18:21

Yes, I wondered about that. I suggested to DH that we buy a neutral card, not necessarily a "baby" one, and send on Monday once we know a bit more. Bluntly, we will of course be sending a card whatever happens but it's just knowing exactly what to write in it, especially as that can change from day to day. I remember people here saying that it was really important to them to have cards recognising the birth, even if they didn't read them for a while, so we will definitely send one.

Northernlurker · 13/11/2009 18:24

Yes it's really hard to know what to put Whatever you put though will not make things any worse and will mean a lot to them.

Bramshott · 13/11/2009 18:31

Thanks for your advice NL - you always have wise words!

Going to sign off now as have friends over tonight, have just got rid of DD1's overexcited friend, and the house is a tip!

CaptainDippy · 13/11/2009 20:17

Morning

elkiedee · 15/11/2009 11:05

I'm furious - our internet, TV and phone are still stuffed up, I'm using dp's mobile broadband gadget at the moment but I really want our own normal stuff.

Sorry to hear about dh's colleague's baby, Bramshott.

I also learned sad news from several days ago yesterday. A woman I met once a few years ago via a review writing website is a Facebook friend, and she recently had a premature baby with Edwards. Liam lived to be 23 days old. She's created a lovely blog detailing the pregnancy and every day of his life, and now the arrangements for the funeral and the preserving of some meories. I don't know her very well and I've not met her husband or her other dcs, but I feel so sad for them all.
