Hi, Welcome to the new thread, the one where we can't drink a cup of tea in peace (there you go, we could have used that for a title!!)

I was in bodyshop yesterday and M trashed the place. Luckily the sales assistant thought she was sweet as she pulled things off displays and legged it out the shop with jars of body butter (several times)!!, cue me legging it after her with a handful of makeup . Luckily there were no store detectives aroud. She also tried to wear every shoe within her reach at the shoe shop.

Thanks for starting the new thread Ninja

I only bother making myself a cup of tea when M is in bed, otherwise it ends up going cold while I'm running around saying 'no, don't do that, get down from there, be careful' etc. I am starting to hate the sound of my own voice ................

No more meeting friends in a cafe for a cuppa and a catch-up either. We have to meet at our houses so M can run around and not get into too much trouble.

The walking is coming on leaps and bounds. It's very entertaining to watch. The momentum gets a bit too much and he ends up in a heap on the floor, but he finds it funny.

Pacita · 10/10/2009 10:25

Loving the modifications to the title, ninja. It's much MUCH more accurate!

My parents are over from Spain and currently dressing DS. Bliss. I also got a lie in this morning after releasing him in their bedroom like a lion to the christians. I think they enjoy it.

Meglet I can't begin to imagine what it's like for your cousin. I hope this type of leukemia can be cured. A lot of them are very treatable and the States is the place to be for the most advanced treatments.

DG, so impressed with DSIS and her group. Love the way she's different and cool, with a wide range of musical influences and does not want to be another bloody Mariah Carey. Gonna make my parents watch. Then I'm gonna make everyone vote.

Ponymum · 10/10/2009 13:30

New thread, new baby on the way... I am due 15 June!!

jenpet · 10/10/2009 13:37

Oh crikey!!! Congratulations Ponymum Wow!! How exciting, that's wonderful news...
...forgive me if anyone else has happy news, I've only just found this thread, and missed the last one totally due to an awful horrid summer with DH's DS in a near fatal car crash in the UK, so we spent most of August in the Intensive care unit at Leicester hospital...he pulled through but will be in a wheelchair for the foreseeable future, anyway, don't want to glum up such an exciting start to the thread, congrats again and lookign forward to getting back into things on here properly again!

ninja · 10/10/2009 14:18

Jenpet how awful

ponymum weyhey How exciting, June's a great month to be born . The first regular on the thread

When did you find out?

OP posts:
notcitrus · 10/10/2009 15:55

COngratulations Ponymum! Hope your pelvis behaves itself this time.

MrNC and I and SIL in particular are still recovering from lurgy, with the babies periodically poorly or just having snot. Not impressed! I was planning on giving up bf as soon as A got over this cold and that was nearly a month ago...

digitalgirl · 10/10/2009 15:56

Wow! Congrats ponymum!!! When did you test?

Teeny bit too, as we're half-heartedly trying. Although I think I'm on another 8 week cycle. Boo hiss.

Anyway, far more important things happening this weekend than my lack of fertility.
You must all watch X Factor and then VOTE MISS FRANK

Ponymum · 10/10/2009 16:25

Oh jenpet how awful for you. What age is he?

We did the first test on Wednesday but it was just the faintest shadow of a line. Then I started getting some early miscarriage symptoms so I feared the worst. Did another test Thursday which was def +ve but I was still afraid I was going to mc. Yesterday I decided it was hopefully sticking so I finally accepted it. I just can't believe how lucky I am to have this chance, after all the difficulties conceiving and carrying DD. For anyone interested I used the TCOYF book and conceived the first month of using the temp chart method!

digigirl So excited for you!! Will we see you on the telly? And you never know, the excitement of the weekend just might give the fertility a nudge as you hopefully celebrate later. By the way, I used to have 8 week cycles too. Nobody told me that was a sign of iodine deficiency until recently. I started using iodised salt and got 4-5 week cycles. HTH.

FranklyIDontGiveAMam · 10/10/2009 16:44

Starlight bumping. Notice my Xfactor supporter name?

I finally got to watch dg's dsis today online. It's so exciting knowing someone and a blimmin relief that she's so good so I don't have to lie, - and and so refreshingly different too. Hope the girls that she is with don't let her down. They are good too, but she is obviously the better. In some way it makes it work though because it's like they are the warm-up act and then dg's sis starts to sing and gets the cheers.

I notice MissFrank are often quoted as G and the girls. Whatever happens now she has definatly been 'noticed' so should be looking forward to a good career.

I'll be watching the live show tonight.

FranklyIDontGiveAMam · 10/10/2009 17:01

Ponymum Well done you!

ILikeToQuickstepItTangoIt · 10/10/2009 17:50

Oh Jenpet, how awful. I'm glad to hear he's on the road to recovery, something like that impacts far and wide and is difficult in many different ways for everyone involved.

Many many congratulations Ponymum, I told you it was a good book! Hurrah for Mr and Mrs Ponymum

I totally agree Starlight. Digi's sister is fab and I don't have to pretend that I like her She's so edgy and cool

DebiTheScot · 10/10/2009 18:06

Yay congratulations pony, brilliant news

How awful jenpet, hope his recovery progresses as fast as possible now. How old is he?

DS1 has gone for a sleepover at my little cousins tonight, it's weird not having him in the house. DS2 has a bit of a temp and isn't 100% so it's quite nice just having him, it'd be hard work otherwise. Hopefully it's just after effects of his MMR and pneumonia jab on Wed and not the start of a bug.

Meglet · 10/10/2009 20:25

woooooooo! ponymum

digi Kandy rain suck (they're on now). Theres loads of posters up in my town because one of the girls is from around here. I resisted tearing them down .

jenpet Sorry to hear you've had such a rough summer. Sending Get Well soon vibes to your DH's DS.

Meglet · 10/10/2009 20:32

oooo, just seen one of my FB friends, who is now a hip-hop DJ in London, has got 'vote miss frank' for his status!

Kagey · 10/10/2009 20:38

Meglet and Jenpet sorry to hear your news - I hope they get better very soon.

It's been a crap week. I took DD to the GP on Thursday as she still had a temperature in the morning. GP diagnosed some sort of sinus infection and prescribed antibiotics and the good news is that she is so much better today. She refused most milk and all food except for a baby yoghurt on Thursday and much of yesterday, and wolfed down food today - bliss

I'm eagerly awaiting Miss Frank tonight - go girls!!!

Ponymum congrats!!!!!

DebiTheScot · 10/10/2009 21:24

Miss Frank were brilliant and looked great too. Digi does your sis mind that her eye make up has been toned down? I assumed that she always had it the way she did up until tonight so it's like they've taken away part of her.

I must admit I like Stacey Solomon too.

DebiTheScot · 10/10/2009 21:26

I think we should organise a meet up so we can actully meet you digi so we can all say we really know someone who's sister is on xfactor

FranklyIDontGiveAMam · 10/10/2009 22:45

Yeah, - if she wins we all expect to be invited to the after show party!

Pacita · 10/10/2009 22:48

Jenpet, what can I say that the ladies haven't said already. What an awful thing to happen. I really hope he recovers and is out of that wheelchair soon.

DG, just voted for Miss Frank - I do think they are the best, although I also think that those corny creative directors are clamping their style. They are much more street and original than that. I really hope they don't try to make them fit into one category or another. I also noticed how they made a point to give the other two girls a bit more exposure - I imagine because they were systematically outshone by Graziella. At any rate, really hoping that they get through with flying colours tomorrow.

And finally...ponymum! You must be ecstatic! Many congratulations and all the best for this pregnancy. I reckon now that your body knows what it's all about it'll be a piece of cake.

jenpet · 11/10/2009 08:23

Thanks for all your thoughts and comments everyone! It's so nice to be back on here
DH's DS (my DSS?? surely not?!) is 23, he was about to leave for LA to study for a year, we were all quite close to him as he spent a long time out here living with us last year. It makes you question what is important and stop stressing about small things for sure...
Anyway, I've never watched x factor & we were out last night, but intend to make a point of it next Saturday! So I'm looking for Miss Frank who is DG'S sister? Have I got that right?
I'm sure ALL of your DC's are walking etc, S has no intention of walking at all, he's more than happy with speed-bottom shuffling and a weird loopy-caterpillar type movement although we are getting random odd words - like tractor, and kipper (as in the dog in the book, not the fish!) and rather than "Jakey" (DS1) we get "achey"!
Have a good Sunday everyone!

digitalgirl · 11/10/2009 16:47

jenpet DS isn't walking unaided yet. He happily toddles around holding my finger, but drops to his knees if I try and prise him off me! Dsis is the shorter of the three in Miss Frank, and occasionally does a rap.

debi She wasn't happy about losing the eyeliner, and she certainly wasn't happy about wearing trousers (that was Brian's decision). But she's going along with it as she gets on really well with the hair, make-up and styling team and she's got a lot of trust in them to build on their style each week. That was the point of the whole conservative look last night. If they start off outrageous, then there's nowhere to go. I think that's why the twins had such an amazing stage set, because they won't be there long.

ponymum how does one get an iodine deficiency? Could too many biscuits cause it? I'm serious, I've been eating far too many sugary foods lately and am wondering if that's why my cycles are so long.

frankly/starlight yes, you are ALL invited to the after-show party when they win it!

Right, must actually do 5 minutes of work before pulling on my MF t-shirt and clapping like a seal.

FranklyIDontGiveAMam · 11/10/2009 17:02

'Dsis is the shorter of the three in Miss Frank, and occasionally does a rap.'

Sorry, but lol at that description.

Aaaaaah, - that makes sense dg the good singers had undistracting support/scenery because a)we need to hear that they can actually sing, and b)they need to show development over time so we don't get bored.

Was going to ask ponymum exactly the same question. What is iodine deficiency and what are the symptoms?

DebiTheScot · 11/10/2009 21:42

how did the twins get through??????? They were awful yesterday.

goldyfish · 11/10/2009 21:42

.

FranklyIDontGiveAMam · 11/10/2009 21:51

Who is goldyfish?

So, - the way I see it it is good that the twins got though. Kandy Rain are no match for MissFrank, but the gap was marginally closer because they were almost naked, so it would be good actually, if the twins got all the way to the final. I might just vote for them for that reason, I can just see it now:

Final: MsFrank vs Twit and Twat
