Hi, Welcome to the new thread, the one where we can't drink a cup of tea in peace (there you go, we could have used that for a title!!)

I was in bodyshop yesterday and M trashed the place. Luckily the sales assistant thought she was sweet as she pulled things off displays and legged it out the shop with jars of body butter (several times)!!, cue me legging it after her with a handful of makeup . Luckily there were no store detectives aroud. She also tried to wear every shoe within her reach at the shoe shop.

carriebo Sending you good house selling vibes. And debi too.

We are doing fine here. I don't yet have any pg symptoms apart from tiredness (but how would I spot the difference on that one?). I'm off to bed!

Debs75 · 15/10/2009 11:24

Ponymum Great news that is fantastic, you are creating quite the stable. Do you want a colt or another filly?

Still not got round to watching Digis sis on X factor but will try now I know which one she is.

Robyn is moving around loads now and is trying to walk. She can stand against the settee and if you come behind her she tries to turn around but she gets a bit confused with what to do with her feet.

She is also obsessed with Jeremy Kyle. DP watches it everday and when she sees him or the crowd starts cheering she starts to cheer and clap her hands.

She won't take to cows milk either, we tried a few weeks ago to drop a booby feed but she started waking more in the night so now she is having about 5 feeds a day and once in the night. She loves water so she has that with meals.

Another for baby starlight.

Meglet · 15/10/2009 23:26

starlight just saw your question about child trust funds on the PM thread. Good question . (My dc's have separate bank accounts they can't touch until I say so, I'm not having them blowing their savings at 18).

I'm going to miss the web chat as I'm at work.

Hmm interesting about the iodine thing, ponymum. Although I don't think Ive got an underactive thyroid as I'd be more overweight. I've actually lost quite a bit of weight recently despite eating icecream cake and biscuits everyday. I was putting it down to still breastfeeding, but maybe it's something else? Still no AF but about a week of EWCM for the second time this cycle. So definitely something odd going on.

DS wakes anytime between 3 and 5:30. If it's early sometimes he goes back to sleep. I feed him and he sleeps in our bed till about 7:30.

He still has a couple of naps between 45 and 60 mins.

starlight love your voice activated baby!

ILTQS I've been ridiculously busy with RL recently. I've recently opened an Etsy store selling vintage bits and bobs (crafty things mostly, like vintage fabric, buttons, lace trim etc). It's here if anyone fancies a peruse. All in an effort to make a little bit more dosh - I'm bored of trying to trim an extra 50p off the budget here and there, and my mother (ex-antique dealer) has a houseful of boxes of things like this accumulated over the years, so she's said I can sell it and give her a bit of the dosh.

Am beginning to vaguely wonder if T has a problem with one leg - he crawls at reasonable speed, but still on his tummy, and really only uses one leg to push off on. Might pop to doc's if he isn't making any move to crawl properly in the next couple of weeks. He pulls up onto his knees quite easily though - not interested in anything more yet!

notcitrus · 16/10/2009 12:17

Poor A has rash and spots all over his legs, mild measles from his MMR on Wednesday. He doesn't seem too bothered. But he's recently been sleeping worse despite being over his cold - waking and screaming inconsolably, arching his back and often refusing even to feed although nothing else seems to calm him. He's not actually drinking though, just using me as an oversized dummy.

And he's waking earlier and absolutely insistent on being up out of the cot - followed by crashing at 8.30am for 2-3 hours.

I'd love to give up bf as planned (taking drugs that aren't great for him, and hoping for more energy) - any tips for calming a screaming baby otherwise? He'll happily drink a bottle of milk in the day but at night it doesn't help even if he drinks it.

Also have stomach bug - was hoping it was morning sickness but apparently it's way too early.

Lovely stuff Hopefully, especially the cherry print material. Shame I am CRAP at sewing/needlework etc!

What is Etsy? WHy is it in $ and not £? Yes I am being very nosey, but I NEED to know these things!

Sounds like you're having a though time NC. If I were you I would do one thing at a time. So maybe tackle the early waking first, then the bf'ing once you've got the sleeping sorted?

I have had to totally cut out M's morning nap to stop him from waking at 4.30-5.30am. He was having 2 hrs in the morning and 1.5 hrs in the avo.

I tried cutting the morning sleep to 1 hr instead of 2 and it worked for a few days but then he started to wake up early again. So, I've now cut the morning nap out altogether.

It does get a bit painful (whingey, tired baby) from about 10.30am onwards, but I try and keep him occupied and give him an early lunch and put him down for a nap at 11.30/12. He then sleeps for 2+ hours.

This seems to be really working for us at the mo .

If/when you give up the bf'ing, I would suggest you send your dp in to calm him down so ds and dp learn some calming techniques that don't involve the boob.

Etsy is an american site, set up to allow individual sellers to market their goods in one big crafty marketplace (honestly, it's amazing I get paid work as a journalist, my desciptions are crap). It's grown to incorporate crafty supplies and vintage. Good place for christmas gifts!

There's lots of international sellers (UK and Europe as well as American), but Etsy still only copes with dollar listings. I use the conversion on my paypal account to work out what to charge. If you want to search for UK listings, just add it in the search bar (e.g. searching for 'christmas wreath UK' would bring up ones in the UK).

I saw your status, hilarious

Did Gordon answer your question about the vouchers?
I actually only got round to doing anything with ds2s voucher yesterday. I agree to some extent with what you think about them but have still put them both in accounts. I won't be adding to them though. I set up a separate account for saving for them that's in my name.
I'm sure that my voucher was worth more though by me not doing anything with it for a year anyway.

Work is very stressful at the moment, county science inspector in this week and OFSTED for a subject inspection next week.
And obviously the house stuff is stressful too, have to fill out a 2nd lot of solicitor forms tonight as we had to change firms. ARGH

Well it does not rain but it pours, and DD now has chicken pox . She came up in a bit of a rash yesterday morning and by mid-morning she was covered in little spots. MIL said it was CP and to be fair after trawling through comparing websites on rashes, I am none the wiser.

DD is quite cheery though, and is doing little sly scratching, so she is being dabbed with calomine lotion. I had to alert the nursery and the lovely ladies who came to visit on Thursday

Enough whineing from me and hope you are all well x

Is X-Factor on by any chance?

notcitrus · 17/10/2009 20:15

Poor Kagey-DD!
A has mystery spots - yesterday morning they looked like mild measles which is a common post-MMR thing, but they grew to angry welts by afternoon so went to GP. Nurse agreed they weren't measles or rubella, so 2 docs came in and A charmed them - they think it's some sort of contact allergy as it's not on his torso or nappy area, but mainly on the fronts of his legs and a bit on lower arms and face.

Thought it was better this morning but lots new spots have appeared. They don't seem to be itchy though but if it's spread further in the morning will have to call the doc. No idea what it could be, no new laundry detergent and nothing new at nursery.

MrNC has my stomach bug now, but at least I'm better if a bit tired. Hope A doesn't get that!

Meglet · 17/10/2009 20:28

eeeek! Was that digi in the old video footage of Graziella?

splishsplosh · 17/10/2009 21:50

hello everyone.
I've been internet-less for 2 months and suffering mumsnet deprivation. Finally couldn't survive any longer so now have a laptop.

I'm watching xfactor, didn't know who DG's sis was til read thru today, but looks like I missed them tonight.

Congratulations Ponymum, great news - are you the first from this thread?

dd2 isn't walking yet - her crawling reminds me of a fencer much of the time, she's upright, with 1 foot to the floor, knee bent, other leg pulled behind her - it's useful when she wants to carry things about. She stands with no hands every now and again, but only for a few seconds.
She's still waking a few times a night - at least once, and often twice, or 3 times even. It's not as if she sleeps loads in the day - mostly just 1 nap, quite often in the morning...

We've been living in a refuge in Hampshire for the last 2 months and we're all in the room together and other families in the house, so obviously not easy. Not that leaving her to cry works, just works herself up.
