looby, can't wait to hear about the baby massage course.

Jennster, hope things do get better with you and DH. I notice I'm arguing a lot more with mine, I wonder if it's lack of sleep, more responsibility, demands of DCs, etc etc . well, all of that doesn't help, does it.

Ses, glad you had a nice trip to brighton and not surprised everyone was taken with O, he's gorgeous! and can't believe the news on the Job . keep us updated!

spangle, hope your MIL is doing better in herself despite the waiting, waiting.

llare, Ikwym about babes getting older. with every Landmark Harper makes, part of me is sad. and I'm just about to move her into 6 mo clothes as well not to mention weaning. my baby is growing . oh, and as she gets more gorgeous!

looby, sounds like you had a nice evening (roaring fire, lovely).
salem, impressed with C's typing abilities .

all others not namechecked -hello and big halloween !

Hi everyone

Am loving the Hallowe'en emoticons .

Right, quite a bit to catch up on and as usual I find myself with a lot of utter twaddle to say comments and chat.

Tummum, I echo everyone else's comments - you've done a fab job BFing - why feel bad?

sausage, hope you have a great hen do, looking forward to hearing all about it tomorrow.

Febes, how was your DH's party?

Llare and others, re packing away tiny things. It is a bit , isn't it? I think for me it's easier as we'll definitely be going for DC2 at some point so it's au revoir rather than adieu. Hah, although having said that I need to admit that we have had, erm, relations 0 times since F was born . Oh well.

Excellent, do you think I can legitimately use all of the Hallowe'en emoticons in this one post?

SES, how exciting about your DH's job news - what a big decision though if it comes to it. When will you know more?

Looby, we've just finished a 5 week course of baby massage and it was brilliant - F loved it. Am sure M will too.

Well, we had a fantastic time at the races. Set off at 7am Thursday morning and got back at 2pm yesterday and, although I missed F a little bit, it was great! I won £52 on the horses (ok, ok, I spent £30 so maybe net it was £22...). I'm the world's most cautious better so perhaps if I'd pushed the boat out to more than £2.50 each way I would have seen a bigger return! We also had the most amazing meal in a Michelin-starred restaurant in Ludlow. We had the menu gourmand - 8 courses, accompanied by a wine tasting menu as well. Lots and lots of free wine - woo hoo! Amusingly, I have now expressed in the loos in a racecourse, a Michelin restaurant, a hotel and a train (not recommended!).

F had been lovely for my mum and dad which was a relief. Now, re feeding amounts, I nearly left him hungry. He only does one boob at a time so I thought that couldn't be more than 5 fl oz. I left the c 25 fl oz of EBM plus 5 200ml cartons of formula. He had the lot and my mum and dad had to buy more formula just in case. It was a bit of a surprise for me, how much he drank! Can't remember who is going on the spa day but my advice is get lots extra. Oh, and one of the ebm storage bags leaked but mum saved it (am not asking for details...).

HeebieJeebieReeBee · 17/10/2009 15:21

Oh, and another thing...

Am very proud of my DH today. He came back from town this morning - he'd been to get a bacon sandwich as we have nothing like that in - and told me he'd had a run in with someone. My heart sank a bit as DH can have a short fuse and knows he's always right to boot .

He'd been in the cafe and this bloke - late 40s - was sitting there having breakfast with his two little girls, aged about 5 and 6. The bloke was on at them all the time, really shouty and aggressive 'give over', 'stop that', 'no you can't do that' etc etc. Dh says it was constant and the girls were really lovely, well-behaved so this man was out of order. Then the bloke stepped it up a notch: 'just f*ing give up', 'No you f*ing can't butter your own f**ing toast', 'oh for f's sake' etc etc etc. DH says he was really out of order, rude, swearing like mad and really agreesive.

So, DH says 'listen mate, I think you're being a bit out of order. Just chill out a bit, you don't need to talk to them like that'

The bloke says 'It's my my fing fault, we're moving house and I'm really fing stressed, I can't cope with these two as well.'

DH 'well mate, I've got one of my own and I'm moving house and I wouldn't be acting like that. I'm telling you you need to sort it out.'

Then, fortunately, his sandwich was ready and he left.

Now, I appreciate that maybe people will be a bit at my DH sticking his nose in to someone else's parenting (it is very out of character for him) but he said he did it thinking about F and how he would feel if it happened to him. I wouldn't have had the guts and I'm ever so pleased he did. Bless him.

PS, Oh, ok, he was getting two breakfast type sandwiches and one was for me!

HeebieJeebieReeBee · 17/10/2009 15:25

oh bum, pressed post and not preview:

corrections are: agreesive = agressive 'my my' = 'not my'

repetition of 'out of order' = words with a similar sentiment but varied to give the impression that I am articulate.

HeebieJeebieReeBee · 17/10/2009 17:27

oh dear. I have killed the thread with my excessive posting about nothing.

runningscared · 17/10/2009 18:56

heebiereebee what did you do?

no time to post, busy day with DH and A. Have had a quick read and will be back tomorrow.

EtherealFiByTheSea · 17/10/2009 19:06

just got ds into bed after reading 3 stories.. had G with me and she was cackling with laughter throughout as ds kept making cheesey grin faces at her! not the most soothing sleep enducing bed times will check on ds in a bit and off to feed G again in hope she goes to sleep too..

FrightNightFebes · 17/10/2009 19:10

Hi
We had a fab party. Lots of vodka jelly, punch, yummy food and cake. Last guests left at 11 this morning. Feeling a little bleary today but its nice to party again. I have vague recollections of dancing at 2 in the morning to the BeeGee's .

Hope Sausage is having a great Hen night and is dressed in something bright and embarrasing.

EtherealFiByTheSea · 17/10/2009 20:01

your party sounds fantastic febes

G still awake and still feeding ahh just filled her nappy.. back soon!

EtherealFiByTheSea · 17/10/2009 20:18

bum changed and now she's just smiling, chatting and trying to blow raspberries at me lol.

first teeth when ds got his it was the bottom 2 and top 2 pretty much at the same time.. then a break before any more came..

Salemchocolates · 17/10/2009 20:19

Evening everyone,

I wonder what Sausage is up to at the moment? I bet she's having a great time.

febes Sounds like you had a great party too.

Jenn I hope your DH and you are talking again. Also that the nearly new sale was good (there's one here next week, can't wait) and finally, have a great night tonight

of all these parties. I can't remember I last went to a good party where I got to drink. I think it must have been my hen night I seem to be driving all the time.

heeby Sounds like you had a great time at the races. A £22 return isn't bad, you can treat yourself to something nice now . Your DH was v. brave confronting that man about his behaviour towards his dcs. I think it's great that he did what he did. When I see things like that happening I always feel sad for the dcs involved.

We had a lovely day here today. First we went to the local monthly market and stocked up on local fruit and veg. After that we went to a charity bear hunt. It was a 2k walk through the grounds of a country estate and really lovely. The lady at the registering point thought I was very brave coming on my own with 2dc and a baby. Not sure what's so brave about it TBH. It's worse to just stay indoors with 3los.

Right, going to watch X-factor now I think. Night night everyone.

Salemchocolates · 17/10/2009 20:21

Oh, fi, you reminded my. I wanted to say the same to ses. The 2 top incisors usually follow the 2 bottom ones, except if you're my dd1, who went for the wonky look. She had 2 bottom ones first, followed by the outside incissor at the top, IYKWIM . She looked really odd for a while.

EtherealFiByTheSea · 17/10/2009 20:36

belgian you've reminded me too! lol!!!

GHOSTLYPRessenceofSES · 17/10/2009 20:37

Thanks Fi and Salem. There's definitely some serious teething going on here but just can't see any sign of top ones. Bottom gums have some definite White areas though either side of his two he has already. Guess anything could happen though and it is more difficult to see the top gums.

We've just got back from our neighbours' place. They were having a party for Diwali. Gorgeous food
I think they're about to start fireworks but we had to come back as O was flagging in a screamy not happy kind of way. We were given some samosas and spring rolls to bring with us!
I'm sitting on the bed feeding O and he's just about asleep. Hope he does better than last night as he wouldn't sleep longer than 2hrs at a time!

Monstermomi · 17/10/2009 20:40

reebee, that's a story about the man and his little girls. I think it's brave of your DH to have stepped in. I would have felt the same way as he but might not have had the guts to say anything .

febes, what a fun party! Beegees? vodka jelly, last guests leaving at 11am day after... sounds like a successful one at that.

salem, you sound like you're settling in well in your new house.

we had an uneventful but good day. Harper has a bit of a runny nose so is clingy. She's also getting very eager to be mobile, using her arms and legs to try to pull herself up (she does with my help) and can now stand for a minute or so holding onto something. I don't know why I'm encouraging her though as I don't want her to be mobile. yet. llare, goes back to your weepiness over how quickly they're growing. i wish I could have another but defn not. and it would be a bit difficult now that DH is sterile [hmile].

no xfactor tonight but watching a cheesy DVD, you've Got Mail. I've never seen it before but am in the mood for cheese.

Hope sausage is having a good hen night and hope the rest of you are relaxing/having fun as well.

GHOSTLYPRessenceofSES · 17/10/2009 20:41

Also keep meaning to apologise for not being a good poster atm. Laptop still broken so using phone and I find it so much more difficult to remember individuals comments that I want to respond to. If anyone thinks I've rudely ignored them, I'm sorry - not intentional at all.

EtherealFiByTheSea · 17/10/2009 20:41

G just drifting off to sleep sucking her thumb , watching x factor and dh is packing for going away tomorrow

Monstermomi · 17/10/2009 20:42

ses, food from the Diwali celebration... lucky you!

EtherealFiByTheSea · 17/10/2009 20:48

ses ikwym about posting on phone.. that's me most of the time atm and i'm fine unless the pace races or it turns to the next page as it takes a while to load each page.

EtherealFiByTheSea · 17/10/2009 20:51

I've had my dinner but all this yummy food talk is making me drool..

GHOSTLYPRessenceofSES · 17/10/2009 20:53

Fi - exactly!

momi - I'm just hoping DH doesn't scoff the lot whilst I'm feeding and trying to get O to sleep!

Monstermomi · 17/10/2009 20:53

Fi, for how long is your DH going away?

Monstermomi · 17/10/2009 20:55

speaking of food, DH is making steak sandwiches with mushrooms and onions and chips! not the healthiest of meals but yummy.

Salemchocolates · 17/10/2009 21:01

ses How nice of your neighbours to invite you. It must be great to experience Diwali like that and all the lovely food, yummmmmm
re: teething. It could very well be that she's going for a different, slightly wonky look too

fi is your DH packing for that residential course?

expressing At uni I used to have an express budy during the lunch break. It was a fellow student with a baby the same age as mine and so we were both given a little room where we could do our thing, lol.

FrightNightFebes · 17/10/2009 21:05

DS also woke up with 2 teeth. Much earlier than my DD who was about 9 months. He is 5 months today.
