Fi sorry to hear about the CP. I hope it won't be too bad, poor thing.

Choc welcome back, good to hear from you.

Tummum how scary, are you all OK now? Did the girls wake up?

LadyH enjoy work, won't you?

We had a scare earlier. I made spicy pumpkin soup, and either the chillis or the pumpkin has made my hands really sore. However G came up in rash all over his face too, I guess from him touching my hands and then his face. It lasted about 15 minutes and then he was fine. Oddly I ate the soup without any problems! I did give G a taste of apple puree this afternoon, which he seemed to enjoy. He is now napping in his cot for one of the first times. My baby is growing.

EtherealFiByTheSea · 15/10/2009 17:46

llare oh no chilli juice can be awful! glad you escaped major stinging and the rash went

Salemchocolates · 15/10/2009 21:12

Evening everyone.

't Is a bit quiet here tonight. Just popping in to see if Looby has been in touch. Nice to know that she's let someone know that she's fine.

llare Ooh so lucky that the rash went quickly. C's 1st cot nap in a while went OK too.

C was so cute earlier today. When I picked up the dcs from school, she was in the sling as usual. DS was walking next to me and C say him. She was so happy to see him she kept chuckling and chuckling every time she saw him. It was so funny to see. Ds loved the attention too.

Now I'm going to have a glass of wine and a little snack of something and watch a little telly.

sausagemonstermash · 15/10/2009 21:26

salem - joining you on the wine front!

Forgot to say earlier - Tummum gaaaaaaaaawd re your scare! I would have been petrified! When we were still in my flat, we hear a loud bang around 3am one night.... dp left the room with a wooden coathanger in his hand.... only to find that a box of tampons () had fallen out of the cupboard and onto the loo. Ooops. Glad you are ok though..

I'm at my Dad's pc and there is yet another bloody great big spider on their camera thingy outside! YUCK!!!!!

sausagemonstermash · 15/10/2009 21:27

heard not hear - see what a glass of wine does with one's grasp of tenses.... tsk.

runningscared · 15/10/2009 21:43

Hi all,
we've just gotback from a&e - A fell forwards when sitting up earlier and hit her head on my friends coffee table. Thankfully she is fine although has a big eggy lump in the middle of her forehead nhs direct told me to go in because she is so little but tbh I don't think she really needed to. Think I feel worse than she does to honest!

Glad looby is ok

hope ds and g are ok fi

sorry about typing, on phone in bed feeding A

FrightNightFebes · 15/10/2009 21:49

Hi everyone. Very quiet on here tonight. I've been on the phone to my mum tonight. Bragging about my wonderful children . I miss her.

R went down without a fight tonight at 6.45. We usually get an hour of crying with me shushing etc but tonight straight to sleep. Hope it's a sign of things to come.

Has anyone else read the thread about how often people are having sex. Most people said they were having it 5-7 times a week . A WEEK. Made me feel very depressed about our sex life. Must try harder. It is DHs birthday on the weekend.

pulapumpkin · 15/10/2009 21:55

runningscared- glad that A is OK - it's probably the first bump of many, knowing what DCs are like. I have been to the childrens hospital A&E maybe 6 or 7 times with the DCs in the last 4 years.

chocs- sounds like C and your DS have a great bond. I am trying to get my DD to be more interactive with S as a few weeks ago she was getting fed up of his crying in the car on the school run and started to shout at him and say she didn't like him and didn't want him as a brother. I am trying to get her to sing or talk or smile at him to show that it makes him happy and stop crying, and it does work sometimes. In the bath, he loves having her there and kicks his legs and smiles when she plays with him

pulapumpkin · 15/10/2009 22:00

Febes- I don't think i've ever had sex 5-7 times a week. Even before children i expect it was generally only on weekends except for when we were on holiday . I've had sex twice in 6 months .

FrightNightFebes · 15/10/2009 22:02

We have done the deed maybe 8 times since R was born but not for ages as he wakes up now if we make noise so it puts you off a bit.

llaregguBOO · 15/10/2009 22:07

We still haven't!

running oh no! Hope all better tomorrow.

Salemchocolates · 15/10/2009 22:26

running Poor A. Glad she's better now. Don't feel to bad about it. Bumps happen

pula DS is next to C in the car and he's very pro-active in stopping her crying nowadays. He hated it when she was a nb and now she's a bit older and can be entertained with toys he's made it his job to keep her quiet on long trips. I think he does it both because he really loves his little sister, but also to protect his own ears They do have a great bond, though. It's lovely to see. Dd1 is a little less interested in C, but they do have their moments.

Before Dc we used to do "it" 5-7 times a week, but that was only to catch up on lost time as he worked away for 2 weeks at a time. With the other 2 dcs we were at it again fairly frequently (though nowhere near 5-7 times) within a month or 2. This time around probably about 4 times in 5 months . My libido really seems to be affected by bf this time.

EtherealFiByTheSea · 15/10/2009 22:31

hellooo

runningm glad A ok after the bump and hope the bump goes down quickly.

sausage shuddering thinking about the spider urrrgh.

belgian awww your ds is sooo lovely

febes those 5 to 7 times a week must be exaggerating me thinks or have lots of kids free time.. i'd rather quality not quantity any day!

pula ds isn't that fussed about G either and we too have been encouraging him to talk/interact with her.. it's slowly making a difference here.

ScarySpangleMaker · 15/10/2009 22:31

running glad A's ok. It's worrying isn't it? H banged his head a week or 2 ago but not hard enough to leave a mark. I didn't take him to hospital but spent the next 2 days worrying about whether I should have or not. You did the right thing. Hope A's bump is better in the morning.

We have DTD about 5 times since H was born. Before that it was similar to pula, weekends or more often on holidays, except when we were TTC. I've only ever done it that often in the first few months of a relationship. I'm sure some of those people are fibbing (she says, hopefully). Surely it would get a bit boring doing it every day? Not sure DH would agree with me on that one though!

OP posts:
EtherealFiByTheSea · 15/10/2009 22:36

oh and llare you'll have to share first place with me

sausagemonstermash · 15/10/2009 22:41

Ok, ok, I'm sharing joint first place with llare and ethereal.... and do I get a bonus prize for also only having DTD once when I was pregnant? My poor, poor dp.< bloody hell its been nearly a year! FFS! MUST sort this out!!!!> 5 - 7 times a week? Ouch. Think of all that chafing!

running - glad A is ok. Phew!

Anybody else moulting all over the place? When I comb my hair through after I wash it it comes off in clumps. I have a bit of a bald patch

EtherealFiByTheSea · 15/10/2009 22:52

sausage my post G molting started a week ago.. thought i'd escaped it this time.. no such luck. i've had to start hair brushing the carpets before i hoover!

llaregguBOO · 15/10/2009 22:57

My hair-loss is easing off now, but it was really bad for about a month. Poor old G used to have handfuls of my hair all the time.

I forgot to say earlier that we gave G apple puree earlier. I think he enjoyed it. He didn't make a face but he did have fun squishing it in his hands! B enjoyed "helping" feed him to and I have a sneaky feeling that feeding G lots of fruit puree will encourage B back onto the fruit.

Monstermomi · 15/10/2009 23:51

fi...CP!!?? poor you (and DS). hope he doesn't get it too badly.

sausage, my hair is falling out in clumps though I think getting better. I'm sure it's going to grow back in grey. then I'll really have to do the hair-dye thing.

Febes about the sex thread, I bet the posters are lying.

sex, we've done it once in about a year (did it once in pregnancy and once since birth).

choc, good to hear from you, glad you and C are well.

running, scary about A, hope she's better.
salem is right - bumps happen.

ok that's all i can remember to name check. hope everyone else is ok.

I've just been out for a taster meal at one of the best restaurants in York. we live just a couple of doors down and I know the owner (so I'm biased). Haven't really seen her in 2 yrs and she knocked on the door to see if I'd 'help' her sample new starters at the restaurant and match to new house wines on the list (twist my arm). very lovely and now relaxing with DH in front of the telly with another glass of wine.

should go to bed. but i always say that. and then stay online somehow .

HeadlessLadyH · 16/10/2009 08:22

Morning. Anyone else up yet?

Have a bit of a headache from last night. .Good to see some of my work colleagues though. SOme are off on a jolly to Amsterdam this weekend. Ie those with no kids!!! They are staying in a hostel. I just couldn't do it anymore.

running glad A ok.
fi any spots on anyone this morning?

People MUST be lying on that thread although I've not seen it. We DTD about once a week at the mo. And only when TTC was it more except in the VERY early days of our relationship. 5-7 x per week??? Where do people get the energy from?

GHOSTLYPRessenceofSES · 16/10/2009 08:30

Morning Headless

I agree that there must be exaggerations on that thread. The most we ever DTD was about 3-4 times a week when ttc.

I'm thinking of driving down to Brighton today. Might be nice for a walk along the seafront but also can go and visit some work colleagues and show off O too.

Toffeeapplemmum · 16/10/2009 09:00

Morning all. I'm enjoying the peace and quiet of someone else doing the school run

I have to say, 5-7 times a week , more like 5-7 times a year in this household . My experience is the same as monsterm once during pregnancy (SPD = owchy) and once afterwards.

Glad Looby is OK

Running how is A this morning? I had a similar experience with DD1 when she was this age. I took her to a Mums and Toddlers group and she banged her head really badly. I tried to act the "I'm an experienced Mum, everything will be fine" but when I got home I bawled my eyes out. DD2 fell down the stairs this week, and I gave her a big hug with no fuss and put her to bed. Then back downstairs for a quick bawl myself. Funny eh?!

Fi poor you with CP and no DH to share the load. Hopefully DS will just want to flop infront of beebies. Hope your night wasn't too bad.

I have just given up BFing as I was getting really fed up with it as G was messing about so much it was getting very sore. I have a killer hormone headache this morning so am feeling soooooo very guilty about not feeding him myself anymore. I feel like I am letting him down and that I should have persevered. I'm hoping it's the hormones talking, and when everything has settled down I will feel more myself again.

Have a lovely day everyone. It's tipping it down here so I think I will entertain myself with some retail therapy. Yay!

EtherealFiByTheSea · 16/10/2009 09:00

we're up but still in pj's..

haven't found more spots like the one on ds knee but he still has slight temp.

going to head off for a bath soon as G wet burped all down my top and bottoms.. completely missing the muslin she's happily blowing raspberry like noises with her mouth between other noises like squeeee, aaayaaay & wooo while playing with her feet.

EtherealFiByTheSea · 16/10/2009 09:08

tummum you're a wonderful mum! don't give yourself any guilt trip re bf.. as long as they're fed they're happy and better you're happy than miserable too.

zombietom · 16/10/2009 09:30

5-7 times a week- No thankyou! I'd rather have a nice hot chocolate and read my book
We only DTD once during pg too, I was too scared to early on as I had a low lying placenta and read it was risky, then hurt my back so didn't want to after that, and as for after pg? Erm, well not yet- but I have bought condoms in preparation!

Tummum You have done brilliantly to bf for as long as you have so don't feel bad about stopping, and enjoy your retail therapy

running poor A- I imagine a trip to A+E was a horrible experience for you

Went to mum and baby group yesterday- a little bit of me died inside when we had to sit in a circle singing songs with actions- not my cup of tea at all, Jake enjoyed it though so I guess I'll be going back... all together now 'when all the cows were sleeping and the sun had gone to bed...'
