Oh go on then.

I'm rubbish at titles though but I bow down to Oli's cakes and supermum.

This one child thing is so easy!

I'm a little bit in love with dd. She is haivng a great time being an only child, she is all happy and relaxed and giggly and chatting away.

Indith, it sounds like bliss. I am very jealous, must try and make time for DS on his own.

Handed in my thesis yesterday and then immediately noticed a slight error in the title, why did I look?! Am so relieved it is over and also a bit forlorn. What will I do with myself now??

Olihan · 30/04/2010 22:22

Mmm, it's fab to have 1 dc on their own, you see a different side to their personality, I find. Tis so hard to fit that sort of 1 to 1 time in though.

Indith, I love having the peace of no/fewer dcs but it doesn't ever feel quite right in an odd sort of way. I always enjoy the idea more than the actual event, iyswim .

Jabber, eek @ laptop. No MN is more EEEKK though .

We're debating whether or not to get a new trampoline or just replace the very broken safety net. New net is £90, new trampoline is £100 with a net that they can't tear off the supports .

Having had a quiet few weeks I'm now getting quite a few cake orders in again which is good. I'm also contemplating mocking up a few wedding cakes and exhibiting at a local wedding fair. Seems a big step though .

Tis very quiet here atm, where are you all? (She says having been a serial lurker but sporadic poster for weeks and weeks!)

Olihan · 30/04/2010 22:24

Oops, forgot to say well done on thesis Lenni. Ideas for spare time:

Eat chocolate
MN
Make cup of tea
MN
Eat cake
MN

Lenni · 30/04/2010 22:55

Oli, think I might try and get some exercise. I'm unemployed again from the end of the month as the bit of teaching I've been doing finishes and no chance of getting anything else until September so will have 2 child free days a week with nothing to do so want to try and get some baby weight off and get fitter.

Go for it with the wedding fair, you are so good you will be fine. And you only have to take on what you want, if you don't have time then don't commit. Easy.

We have trampoline issues too - our padded thing that goes around the edge is missing (trampoline passed on to us from family) and they are bloody expensive to replace. DD been using it without but not ideal and now DS wants to go on it and the springs are pretty dangerous for little fingers. Am going to have to hunt one down on ebay.

accessorizequeen · 30/04/2010 22:59

does this mean cc is going well, indith? Hope so! Tis lovely to spend even 5 mins with 1 dc, I had a happy half hour in my bed with ds2 tonight as dts asleep and ds1 occupied elsewhere. He told me all sorts of interesting things!

lenni, congrats on thesis! woo hoo, serve up the milo!

jabber, oli, hope tramp/laptop problems sorted, they're both essential in their own ways!

castles, how're you doing? Did you go to doc, still having panic attacks?

oli, yes go for fair! You have a fab product, get it out there & make a mint! God knows when you make them btw.

hi solo!

wb, 20 weeks, fantastic

lenni, oli, indith? hope we can still do something in May/early June? Will check my diary and fb/text.

Last round up from me for a bit, am trying to get organised for holiday (leaving monday eek why did I book it for then?) and also bathroom being done whilst we're away. Idea to put house up for sale start of June although as there's nothing to buy I'm not sure if it's great idea anymore.

jabberwocky · 01/05/2010 03:01

Thinking of the one dc thing reminds me of my resolve to try to arrange that occasionally/more often

Congratulations lenni!! What a huge accomplishment.

oli, I htink you should go for the wedding cake fair. June is just around the corner..

AQ, have a lovely holiday!

Dh and I are anxiously watching the oil spill in the Gulf and glad we booked travel insurance for the supposed beach trip

wb, congrats on 20 weeks. Better you than me

EVye · 01/05/2010 08:51

Hello All

well done Lenni!

Get a new trampoline Oli

We just got a TP Spiro and the kids love it.

castlesintheair · 01/05/2010 09:52

Yes get a new trampoline Oli. It's the most used 'toy' we have, apart from the Wii

Have a good holiday AQ. Am bearing up thanks.

Eli, if you are lurking, will email/fb you for that coffee

Indith · 01/05/2010 18:55

Lenni I'm sure you'll manage to fill that spare time somehow (says the one who really misses her degree)

Oli wedding fair sounds good, how many orders would you need to cover the cost? Sounds like a good way to spread the word a bit more.

Aq I'm def up for something in May/June.

CC/general not feeding is going ok, been 3 nights now. I have not fed her until around 5.30/6am. She seems to sleep from bedtime until around 12 then is awake on and off until 3, crying out, resettling, crying and needing a pat on the back to settle etc every 5/10 mins then at 3am she crashes until 5.30/6, feeds and sleeps til 7.30/8. Exhausted but hopeful! She doesn't seem at all bothered about the lack of milk at night which is good, I just want her to stop waking up!

We were at a party this afternoon which means 2 children shattered and not wanting to eat as stuffed with party food. Ds is asleep and dd is chatting away in her cot, bit worried that she is going to decide she is starving later.

Hi all,

Computer, after being temperamental, finally deceased as of yesterday morning (just when I have a horrendous lot of writing 'homework' to do ) and am borrowing dh's laptop.

Castles, this means I've lost your FB message (which came up on my emails, never check FB these days) and your email addy...sorry...would you mind emailing me? Those are being transferred automatically to laptop, at least!

WB, good to see you

Sorry to be so brief and un-newsy today, am just up to eyeballs. HOpe everyone is ok, apart from the mice.

Lenni · 04/05/2010 22:05

Hi Eli - good to hear from you.

I just missed the asda delivery cut off by one minute so now have to wait another day for the shopping I just spent all evening assembling. Grrrrr at myself

Glad sleep improving Indith. We've had a hard few weeks with DS teething, he is so miserable at the moment I am glad tomorrow is a nursery day, which is terrible but true.

Off to order that Boden dress now Castles, thank you

jabberwocky · 05/05/2010 01:58

marking place, in from ds1's spring program. He was much more excited about it this year and was more engaged. Tomorrow - field trip to the Crystal Mines (well, really a dirt field where we all get filthy and dig for crystals)

LenniralElection · 05/05/2010 21:39

Also marking my place, getting excited about tomorrow, although I know it is going to be a disappointing result in the end.

TheDailyWail · 05/05/2010 23:43

Hi all- I'm completely out of the loop and will try to catch up...

Indith · 06/05/2010 13:36

Hello!

2 questions for you. When is my HV coming? I thought it was today but clearly not so I suppose it must be next week. She came last week and I clearly remember her making another appointment for a Thursday around 1pm but which Thursday?

Where is my period? Trying not to stress about this one. Sex is very infrequent and always protected with no known breakages. Periods have been horrible since dd and I have been feeling really periody, grumbly in the tummy, bloated and windy since the weekend but nothing. Argh! I would like it to turn up please so I can stop stressing. Is it just me who stresses each month? I can't fully relax until it turns up for fear of being pg.

OP posts:
Indith · 06/05/2010 14:15

Oh well the HV has come which answers one question.

OP posts:
LenniralElection · 06/05/2010 20:42

Not alone with stressing Indith, think it is pretty normal to be irregular when still feeding/recently stopped. I've had a fair few panics in the last few months. Have been 10 days late once, that was dire.

Olihan · 06/05/2010 21:54

To slightly mis-quote the mighty Meatloaf 1 out of 2 ain't bad, Indith . My periods were all over the shop while I was still bfing Ds2, especially when he was still on/off feeding at night. Don't panic yet, or spend £16.99 on a pg test that will be -ve and your period will arrive within 20 minutes of doing the test. Works like a dream for me .

Indith · 07/05/2010 12:55

Woohoo an actual period! I'm relishing every cramp. FOr about the next 5 mins anyway then I'll go back to moaning about it. Glad it isn't just me who panics!

Can I please murder ds? Or just give him away. Sell him on the black market or something, he is a pretty boy sure I could get a few camels for him. He is being horrible. Shouts, hits, pulls, pushes etc. He has actually been playing well with friends which is nice but he is being beastly towards us and dd. Thankfully he is in nursery this afternoon.

OP posts:
Olihan · 07/05/2010 21:31

I'll do you a trade for ds2, Indith. He's taken to biting when he doesn't get his own way. Although not me so far, just Dd and ds1. Sigh.

Olihan · 09/05/2010 21:35

Where are you all? Tis awfully quiet here atm.

Indith · 10/05/2010 07:28

I'm just having trouble typing between sneezes.

I stayed up to watch the new series of Family Guy last night, so tired this morning!

OP posts:
accessorizequeen · 10/05/2010 20:56

Just back from holiday, couldn't find you all! must go unpack some more (not even thinking about mess from newly done bathroom whilst we were away - next step to house on market!), will check in soon!

MyNeighbourTotoro · 11/05/2010 20:52

Hello everyone, Evye here!

I have been a political animal all week - loving all the stuff atm.

DDs being difficult. DD1 v sensitive and is quite unsettled generally. DD2 whining for England. I am hoping we are coming through it.
