Oh go on then.

I'm rubbish at titles though but I bow down to Oli's cakes and supermum.

I'd like to hibernate.

I fell asleep on the sofa in front of QI at 8.30 last night. Dh woke me, accused me of snoring (I have a cold) and sent me to bed

Take care solo, hope to see you soon

Hi All

DD1 has just had her birthday party. 30 kids and Tinkerbell as the host. All went well. I am now inundated with every type of craft gift known to man. They will keep DD busy until about Sepetember A good day but the kids are now very tired.

Lenni · 06/03/2010 20:51

Glad you've had a good day EVye and hope your quest for non-pinks shoes is fruitful Indith.

Eli - DS is also suffering with a mystery cough, it has been ongoing for so long now I have almost given up with traipsing (sp?) to the doctor with him. I have a feeling an asthma diagnosis is just around the corner for him, but I wish they would just get on with deciding amongst themselves and treat him. He has been 'chesty' (with a tiny wheezy patch on one lung) since August Bank holiday and it seriously affects his sleep. He has been sleeping on an incline and on inhalers/Calpol/steam etc. for 6 months now. I am going to demand an appointment with my own lovely GP this week and have crisis talks as I really don't feel like the situation is being managed well at all. I still can't believe that not one GP has offered to put him on a course of ABs, they just say his chest is clear and ears/throat just showing redness rather than infection everytime, but after 6 months of redness you'd think they'd hedge their bets.

Anyway, sorry, rant over, was actually meaning to say hi to Solo and AQ.

Jabber - is this a social life you speak of? Would you mind explaining how one goes about getting one of those??

accessorizequeen · 06/03/2010 22:38

Just dropping in v.briefly. Hullo Solo, ME sounds tough to deal with, please stay a little longer?
Lenni, really surprised they haven't done more for ds, ds3 had similar issue last summer & they put him straight on ab's & inhaler which we've had to use last week. Normally if they suspect asthma, they give steroids for short time to see if child/adult responds don't they? too right to demand crisis talks (although I do hate giving him inhaler, it's a 2 person job).
struggling here, it's just winter isn't it (although technically spring) ran out of ad's so panic attacks all day On plus side booked a centerparcs holiday for may yay!

solo · 07/03/2010 00:35

I will be back

jabberwocky · 07/03/2010 01:53

lenni, definitely demand for something else. Since August is too long!

Maybe a teensy bit of social life lately? I've been talking dh into doing a few things to promote the clinic so to speak

AQ, I totally empathize with the out-of-ADs panic attacks I've done that a few times and it's not pretty.

EV - 30 kids???? I am VERY impressed!

EVye · 07/03/2010 09:18

Lenni - insist on inhaler and ab's. It can make such a difference.

Jabber - it was a joint party so not as scary when another mum is doing it with you

Solo - ME sounds tough. Do come back

Spring is here, even though it is cold,. How can I tell? I am putting s all over my posts

jabberwocky · 07/03/2010 16:04

Dh is currently replacing the toilet in the boys' bathroom. Ds1 is enthusiastically assisting and has his Home Improvement book open to the correct pages

Indith · 07/03/2010 16:39

Lenni that is dreadful, hope kicking up a fuss makes things happen.

Jabber that sounds very sweet

Dh took the dcs to the park this morning so I got to bask in the sun coming through the patio doors in the living room and read the paper. Made up for it in house work after lunch but it was rather nice! Dh currently out buying glasses as he managed to lose his in the river yesterday. You'd have though he would have learnt to wear his contacts last time he capsized and lost a pair of glasses

Dd now has some very lovely black shoes with butterflies on

Had a great conversation with my mother today. She went on an overnight ferry trip with the Guides as part of the centenary celebrations and last night had a bit to drink once the girls were in their cabins. She claims that she was just tired, not drunk when she said "that's not the coast that's sheeps!" and then proved that she wasn't drunk by standing on one leg. I pointed out to her that anybody who feels the need to stand on one leg to prove they are sober is most definitely drunk

AQ, Lenni and possibly Oli (and anyone else who may fancy it) how are you fixed for some time between April 24th and the end of May? I'm going to send ds to stay with my folks. Currently thinking we'll all take ds down one weekend then I'll stay on a couple of days before taking dd home on the train and leaving him so if you fancy that Hull meet up on a Monday or Tuesday around then let me know

jabberwocky · 07/03/2010 17:34

Indith, laughed so much at your description of your mother that I had to read it aloud to dh! Good for her

accessorizequeen · 08/03/2010 13:38

I can so imagine ds1 doing that too with the bathroom, jabber, they love that stuff! I remember trying to put his new bed up with his 'assistance' at age 3.

Indith, would love to meet up. Can only do a tuesday, working on mondays. Can't do the 4th May as we're on holiday but any other tues would be great. Would only have 2 dc's (mum takes 1 of them every tuesday) Room in car for you and your 2 if we wanted to travel to meet lenni/oli? Pity you're not here for Easter, I was thinking of taking dc's to Burton Agnes easter hunt it was great fun last year.

Indith · 08/03/2010 13:43

Great

We are in France for Easter. Ds is very excited about going on a plane. "Go on a plane mummy at airport. Go on a big plane not a little one will be little in the sky mummy go on a plane see Mamie with you and Daisy and Daddy and Me! And Aunty Sophie and go to airport and go on plane and go neeeooooooow. It has smoke coming out don't it"

Goodness! I haven't heard Burton Agnes mentioned in years! is that the home of the screaming skulls? Lol! I have a Yorkshire born and bred mother and lots of family in Hull, just in case you are curious as to how I know

accessorizequeen · 08/03/2010 21:02

ooh, you come too solo! wouldn't you love a visit to Hull?
he's a chatty little person isn't he indith? he's gonna love it! DS1 went in a plane last summer (friend of my dad's owns one) and apparently everyone had to turn off their headphones cos he didn't stop talking (that's dp, my dad, my sister & pilot - v.small plane).
first photo of ds2 in new glasses on my profile btw, he's so good about wearing them.

solo · 08/03/2010 21:41

Oh I'd love to if I could afford the trip another time maybe...

Was I right about the screaming skulls or have I dreamed that?

TheDailyWail · 08/03/2010 21:56

Oh well Solo, me and you will have to just settle for a trip to Bluewater.

AQ are you looking forward to Centerparcs which one are you going to?

We've had intermittent problems with t'interweb, excuse my erratic posting.

Lennie - hope that your GP will give your DS a diagnosis and treatment. I'm off to GP tomorrow for DD2 and a non-shifting cough.

My DH's nan passed away a fortnight ago, I think she had just got to the point where it was too tiring to live. No huge amount of suffering or pain, something to be grateful for.

Lenni · 08/03/2010 22:22

Count me in for Hull, we are back from holiday mid-April so should be fine for a Tuesday, but will need to book my nephew at nursery so let me know date as soon as you know iyswim. Yay! Best go, eyelids closing.

solo · 08/03/2010 23:09

TheDailyWail, are you near me then?

EVye · 09/03/2010 10:33

Hi All, dont want to out myself on here but those who are linked to me on FB. I have sent you a link and I'd be grateful if you could have a look/play and send me a message with any feedback. Thanks

TheDailyWail · 09/03/2010 12:30

solo - remember I tried to set you up with someone I know?

I'm a few miles away from you.

EV - saw it on FB and have had a little dip into it. Will let you know how I get on, I've done the first wordsearch.

jabberwocky · 09/03/2010 13:35

Hey, EV, got your link. It'll be tomorrow night before I get a minute to breathe and give it a try.

Very about the meetup.

accessorizequeen · 09/03/2010 14:35

Will try to have a look tonight EV.
um, don't know about screaming skulls, I'll ask dp as I NEVER pay attention to history stuff.
We're going to Whinfell Centerparcs, it was a little cheaper than Sherwood (and my god still outrageous!). I hope it'll be good, god knows we could all do with a nice break, going to book a few things for the kids to do.
So meetup is looking like later in April then? Are you sure you can't plan a visit to co-incide jabber?
Anyone see that WeirdBird expecting another?

EVye · 09/03/2010 15:20

Might be up for a southern meet up?

castlesintheair · 09/03/2010 15:39

TheDailyWail · 09/03/2010 16:51
