Oh go on then.

I'm rubbish at titles though but I bow down to Oli's cakes and supermum.

Jabber - you will have to rise above it. At least you know what they're going to say. Circumcision is common over there isnt it (not just for religious reasons). FWIW I think you made the right choice and the infection DS has is just another ailment that we all experience from time to time - it is not your fault.

jabberwocky · 27/02/2010 20:45

Thanks, EV. You're right, it's dreadfully common to circumcise over here and I don't agree with it at all. Just had the talk with dm and she said "I think I'll just let this pass by your father - you know what he'll say" and also "Oh, well we never had problems like that with our boys - of course they were circumcised".... well, at least I was prepared....

Would rather have to face that than live with depriving dcs of their foreskin though

EVye · 27/02/2010 21:05

How long until the ABs get rid of it?

Tell your parents to shove off if they go on about it.

jabberwocky · 27/02/2010 23:50

love having this thread! Once I knew what it was I did an MN search and it generally responds very quickly to the antibiotics. The dr said to come back if if hadn't improved in a day or two. Ds1 said it didn't bother him as much to do a wee so that's a good sign.

Olihan · 28/02/2010 01:04

Jabber, you're the most un-american American I've ever known . You clearly belong on our side of the pond .

jabberwocky · 28/02/2010 05:18

aww, oli, what a wonderful compliment

Lenni · 28/02/2010 07:51

Of course, you'd have to put up with the miserable weather and everyone moaning about said weather, but I agree, you belong here.

castlesintheair · 28/02/2010 08:32

talking of which it should be such fun trying to control 8 x 8 year olds on the go-karting track today in the rain

EVye · 28/02/2010 10:16

Rather you than me Castles.

As is always the case with these dreaded things, the go-karting was brilliant .

Thanks for the wine though Oli

< comes in with glass and pours some wine, lifts another toast, takes hearty drink, with look of empathy to Lenni>

When my period finally came back after ds2 it was with a vengence. Almost puts me in bed the first day now.

Ds1 is doing another salt water bath and penis is much improved...errr, in case anyone was wondering

jabberwocky · 01/03/2010 03:44

HAve now had a couple of actual vs virtual glasses of wine and have that warm, loving everyone feeling...

I hope it's not too bad in the morning as I have to get up an hour earlier for a class...

accessorizequeen · 01/03/2010 09:44

go-karting party sounds fab (wonder if they do them round here?)
balla-whatsit doesn't sound so good, jabber but well done on the wine!
does take a few months for periods to ease up a bit I think lenni, commiserations!
right going to try and drive my car for 1st time in a month, hope I don't crash. Arm/shoulder v.painful hoping that is sign of recovery rather than anything else!

jabberwocky · 02/03/2010 14:12

Hope the shoulder is better today AQ.

Weird full-moon vibes going on at the office Friday through yesterday. Am going in with trepidation!

Indith · 03/03/2010 17:41

Jabber I didn't mean to make you about ears, it makes me smile

Hope everyone is ok and that AQ's still healing nicely, Oli has had the AD's fiddled with and that Jabber's ds is improving.

I feel very sorry for him Jabber. Ds has a fungal infection once which resulted in blisters on the end of his willy.

Ds has finally hit the "why?" phase. They grow out of it right? I quite like that he is starting to answer "why" questions though, he has always stared blankly before at anything that needed a "because" so may make things easier!

He doesn't half talk a load of nonsense these days, imagination runs wild. He has caught dd's cold and horrible cough. Apparently it is Pedro's cough. Pedro is a Chicken. He takes medicine.

Dd is walking with confidence now. There is no stopping her! Any tips on where to get non pink shoes would be great! Her feet are wider than ds' though she is in his old ones for now as all Clarks had in her size was hot pink or white. Pink doesn't go with all her clothes and I am NOT buying more than one pair and white..well....who ever thought white shoes were a good idea? Not so bad in town I suppose but we live in the country.

Still no sleep at all as she is hacking away with her horrible wet cough. We are decided though that the next time she is healthy and not teething we are trying CC again.

Still taking the happy pills thanks Oli. Am not feeling quite so good as when I first started but has been quite hellish for sleep recently so will give it a bit longer before any fiddling.

Is it bedtime yet?

Glad I can be of assistance in the smile department

Much better at the office. Apparently we were under some kind of kickass full moon

I have now gone to the embarrassing point of just saying, "I don't know, ask your father" in response to some of the myriad "Why?" questions

bedtime is close here and another glass of wine...

solo · 04/03/2010 01:05

Hello! long time no erm...pop in

solo · 04/03/2010 01:10

Well, see you all again in 6 months or so then

Hope you are all well

jabberwocky · 04/03/2010 01:56

Helloooo solooooo

it's the wine talking....

good to see you, how's dd?

Indith · 04/03/2010 07:33

solo! Good to see you

OP posts:
Elibean · 04/03/2010 14:26

Solo how are you? How is dd? Were you hibernating?

Emerging after week of minor viruses, and hope period pains, balanitis, depressions, bugs and other not-fun stuff is on the mend all round....Oli, I'm so impressed at your catchings-up, I would need to write everything down to remember

Indith, I hated pink shoes when dd1 was little(r), so she had a fine selection of brown ones, dark blue ones, and dark purple ones (which went with everything, oddly). dd2 has inherited them, via two other friends, and most of the winter ones are still good. I went to OneStep here (not sure, but they may be a chain??) but if I were you, I'd have a good look next time you're visiting Mamie

dd2 is off pre-school with croupy cough, but no croup, and dd1 is about to come home with bouncy friend, so will keep it short. Jabber, may the morning be gentle with you

Elibean · 04/03/2010 14:27

dd2, of course, cries for pink shoes

solo · 04/03/2010 23:24

Hey! thank you! yes, hibernating(wish I could), the ME is bad and I've been a little eratic at times with posting. The twilight zone is my usual place, but I dropped off from that for a while too.

Dd is fine thank you, she doesn't sleep at normal times and doesn't stop eating or growing!

I haven't attempted to catch up with all your posts/news etc, I wouldn't get far anyway with the brain fog, so not worth using the energy tbh and I don't mean that in a mean way.

Nice to see you all and I hope to be in again soon...I'm off for an earlier night Take care all
