Oh go on then.

I'm rubbish at titles though but I bow down to Oli's cakes and supermum.

Yes - DD and DS had conjunctivitis twice in the last 3 weeks, with a cold type virus. Must be a bug(s) - we've got a D&V bug here. Much joy.

Sorry to hear of all these ill/injured relatives, hope they are all well again soon.

Castles - hope this week goes ok with DH back at work.

No help with PT I'm afraid - I got lucky with DD.

accessorizequeen · 23/02/2010 18:00

Um it's very quiet here
Hope you're better EV and Eli and also all the dc and relatives

castlesintheair · 23/02/2010 20:11

Oooh hello AQ/ Loved that confused face!! And hello everyone else. I seem to have got myself something of a life recently! 2nd night out on the trot and also tomorrow and have a whole blissful day each tuesday now as DD2 goes to the childminder after nursery. Decided that after 8 years of wearing myself out I needed to get selfish. Or a little bit at least

Lenni · 23/02/2010 20:15

Anyone else thinking this is the worst ever winter for bugs? I have looked at my diary and we haven't all been well since August Bank Holiday weekend.

Jabber says hello via fb as she is blocked from MN in her hotel, I am probably so late in delivering that message though that she has no doubt said hello directly having given up on me!

Indith - How did I not notice that DD was walking! well done DD! Very exciting.

So I am meant to be working tomorrow. Could do with locating my brain among the washing and catching up a 3 year sleep deficit so I can work said brain, but instead I am MNing and eating icecream in bed and hoping for the best.

Lenni · 23/02/2010 20:17

About bloody time you got selfish. Well done.

Lenni · 23/02/2010 20:18

bloody blinking er... insert word of choice to replace my foul language

EVye · 23/02/2010 20:20

Hello all. I'm here.

I feel a lot better.DDs glands have gone down loads so all good here.

Olihan · 23/02/2010 22:50

Hello! Just bookmarking so I can catch up.........

jabberwocky · 24/02/2010 00:19

Lots of catching up to do! D&V bugs and poo doing the rounds it looks like but at least Ev's dd's glands are shrinking

The class was great. Computer at the hotel was odd. I could get on ds1's mello thread but not this one. It kept getting blocked as a mature site I started wondering what we might have been talking about....

castlesintheair · 24/02/2010 12:03

Sorry to hear about all the bugs Lenni. I agree there seem to be loads more things around. You will be pleased to hear, they do stop getting them once they start school. Or sooner. It's a tough time though. Good luck with work today!

EV, glad DD on the mend.

Hello Oli I see you have been busy with you cake making.

Indith · 24/02/2010 12:25

I swear I have never heard dd cry as much as she has the past couple of days. I don't really know what is up with her

Elibean · 24/02/2010 13:31

Jabber, at mature website. Glad course was good!

I think D&V warrant far worse language, Lenni....and yes, since Christmas, mildish-but-annoying bugs non-stop here. I have barely seen new nephew as result, waaahh. But D&V is now doing rounds at DD1's school (norovirus) and I am keeping everything crossed that dd1's usual cast iron stomach persists. It has to be one of the worst, poor you.

Hope dd's ok, Indith?

Castles, hurrah for you! And for all of womankind: you are setting us a good example...

castlesintheair · 24/02/2010 13:36

Big sign at DD2's nursery when I went to pick her up '48 sickness bug going round'. Oh joy. And it's my birthday

Elibean · 24/02/2010 14:30

Happy Birthday Castles! And may the anti-bug force be with you. I duck when I go to pick dd up

ps you really did set a good example - dh was home briefly, so I left him with dd and went and had a hot bath (remember those?!). Bliss, I'm renewed

jabberwocky · 24/02/2010 15:28

Could it be ears Indith?

accessorizequeen · 24/02/2010 22:19

Awww happy birthday castles! (just for you!)

Indith · 25/02/2010 15:41

Happy belated birthday castles

Where does one get this anti-bug force? I need some? Will I need a flashy light sabre type thing to wield it with? Could be fun

Jabber I love that you always pop up and ask about ears Usually is with ds but don't think so no, none of the discomfort when lying down etc.

Dd seems happier today, not so screamy although still off her food.

I went to see a friend this morning, was lovely betwen toddler tantrums! Then it got near lunch time and the 3 of us were sitting on the sofas unwilling to move as our various children started to dissolve into shouty messes so I left! Decided to walk into town and have lunch out as I couldn't face another full afternoon of screaming and ended up witha free lunch and very . Apparently the last time we had been to that cafe the boss had been working and it had been a busy day with lots of mess from children. He noticed that I had wiped up all the mess and stacked the plates etc so he left instructions that I was not to pay the next time they saw me! Shame I had been counting my pennies before going and hadn't ordered cake!

Indith - that has made me go all weepy, what a lovely thing to happen. My period must be due, thank the lord, was starting to get a little worried about an almost immaculate conception.

jabberwocky · 26/02/2010 02:46

Indith, I had not realized that I am such an ear freak now realize you are totally right. The funny thing is, we haven't had too much problem with ears in general but my nephew's ears were a nightmare.

Lovely, lovely story about lunch

Olihan · 26/02/2010 11:05

Right, let me try and catch up!

AQ, how's the shoulder? I'm guessing you haven't needed an op, or did I miss that?

Sorry to hear about all the poorly/injured relatives, and all the dcs with lurgies. We seem to have got off lightly so far this winter , just the odd cold and dicky tummy. Makes a nice change, normally we have one thing after another between Christmas and Easter but hopefully they're becoming a bit more resistant to it all. Mind you, I have a fluey type bug atm but lovely PILs had ds2 all day yesterday and picked the other 2 up from school so I had a very restorative day in bed. Am vv lucky they are so kind .

Lenni, how's preschool going now? Has dd settled more?

EV, hope DD1's glands are going down and you're feeling a bit more relaxed now.

Indith, your cafe story restores faith in human nature. That's the loveliest thing I've heard for ages . Lots of sympathy on the ongoing sleep deprivation, hang on in there, are you still taking the happy pills?

Castles, well done on finding some time for you! You're an inspiration to us all .

Eli, how's your uncle doing?

Not too much to report here really, I've had a blip with the depression, think I need to up my AD dose a bit more and go back to counselling. DH has a new job which he is loving but does mean he's away a lot more. Ummmmm, ds2 is a typical 3yo, exceedingly stroppy and demanding but gorgeous with it. He's sleeping slightly better, we're down to only a couple of broken nights a week now -it's all progress .

Still getting a good number of cake orders which is very nice, just enough to keep me occupied but not so many that I'm stressed. Thank you for all becoming my fans .

Lenni · 27/02/2010 00:57

Oli long time no see. Just finished working so won't stop but will be back in morning...

castlesintheair · 27/02/2010 09:36

Hi Oli. Well done on the cake biz. Sorry about the depression. Hope it resolves itself. Get thee to a doctor pronto.

Got the double birthday party weekend from hell coming up: DD2's fairy party today, DS's go-karting party tomorrow.

Lenni, hope the job is going well.

jabberwocky · 27/02/2010 15:19

The business page is really great, oli. I wish I lived closer!

Had an anxious few hours with ds1 last night. He has balanitis Feeling much better today. I think the antibiotics are kicking in.

EVye · 27/02/2010 16:21

Oh dear Jabber. Just had to google balanitis. Hope it clears quickly.

Olihan - sorry you're down Your cakes look lovely.

DH away for the weekend so just me and the kids. They are both on the computer at the moment. I have been trying to do some tidying but cant really be bothered.

jabberwocky · 27/02/2010 17:11

This sounds silly but I am dreading telling my parents about ds1. The boys are spending the night with them tonight so ds1 will have to do his epsom salt bath and take medicine over there but I'm going to face at the very least a "look" as they wanted us to circumcise the boys at birth.
