Does anyone else feel like their lives revolve around Poo, wee and snot - I resign!!

LittleMissNorticiaAdams · 14/10/2009 21:12

Yep JBM - with you on that one! My whole life seems to just revolve around the demands of a 2 year old atm.

Mind you, she's in bed with only a vest on with the windows open and a temp of 39 ....she's eating ok though, so hopefully ok.

Can see any one of the 9 docs Ria . They also have walk-in baby clinics (not appointment only), family planning clinics and all sorts. Sad aren't I?

Glad Jamlet got on ok Jammy - does she need glasses? My friends little boy has just had his first pair at 3....and he has adapted really well.

GrimRIAper · 14/10/2009 21:22

glad it went OK jammy. Not the same thing at all, but DS1 is down to yearly checks now, rather than 6 monthly. wish they'd picked up on his earlier though as we partically blame his sight for his handwriting and reading, though I suppose it may not be the case. Will have to get on to the school again but I was putting DH off ringing til DS1 had seen the head at her suggestion, which he now has and she hasn't mentioned anyting to do with writing.

feel odd tonight. didn't take the boys to my mums as usual because I was too tired. baggins wouldn't eat so I got him down from the table, gave him some rice pudding on the sofa and put him to bed. DS2 had a massive screaming tantrum about a slice of garlic bread, so he was in bed before 7 too, but I didn't sit in his room with him tonight (couldn't manage being upright TBH), I lay on our bed and dozed til he went to sleep, DS1 ws milling about round us and on the PC downstairs. don'tknow if I feel better for my doze or not, and I have pains all up my arms. pah.

thankfully no snot here ATM JBM, but it all seems to be battles for me.

your health centre sounds very exciting norty.

JammyOLantern · 14/10/2009 21:55

No glasses (yet) Norty, she had glasses tests in the summer and they said she was very slightly long sighted, but just within normal range for her age so no glasses at the moment. But her eyes are showing a slight tendancy to turn in (particularly when looking at something close to, so that fits in with the long sightedness), and there is a famimly history of squints (me and my Mum) so they are following that up. The good news is that both eyes do it a little, so that should reduce the likelihood of one eye dominating and one becoming lazy, which is what happened with me and now I can hardly see out of one eye.

LittleMissNorticiaAdams · 14/10/2009 22:31

oh right - a squint is why my friend's DC has glasses. sounds like they are keeping her under close supervision which is good!

GrimRIAper · 14/10/2009 22:43

DS1 has astigmatism (?), apparently so do I and my Dad.

DH still at work (WTF can he be doing, it's Wednesday, it's the fecking back of beyond?) so I'm cathing up with strictly on iplayer. Have got to week 2 show 2! love tuffers though can't look at his face...

LatinDAISYcal · 14/10/2009 23:50

lol jbm; I see your poo, wee and snot and raise you some puke

How's L doing? Have you found out any more about the convulsions?

I kwym Norty; DD is sooooo demanding at the minute. She is so funny and smart, and absolutely delightful....as long as she is left to get on with things. All I need to do now is say her name and she screams at me, and trying to get out of the house takes forever as she insists ion dressing her self and screams and carries on if I so much as look at her shile she struggles with a sock!

It's bloody wearing. I don't remember DS1 being like this.

Glad you got a new GPs sorted . It's not sad at all either; that's the way it should be with GPs....ours sounds similar and is bloody fantastic.

Glad the appointment went OK for DD Jammy. I have similar eye issues to you, but my squint was up and down the way as opposed to side to side. Not noticeable to look at me (which is why it wasn't picked up until I was 13), but it meant that the other eye took over and the wonky one is utter shite now, even corrected. The bad eye is long sighted and the good one short sighted as well which makes for interesting hand eye co-ordination. It's also getting harder as I get older.

I've been web building tonight and have revamped things a bit, added more stuff and some photos. Still a ways to go but I published it anyway! if anyone fancies a wee look I'd be greatful for the comments I'm in the middle of writing about the various types but my eyes are going crossed so will get that finished tomorrow, as well as listing products.

JammyOLantern · 15/10/2009 12:52

I have the long and short sight thing too Daisy. And astigmatism. Really hope Jamlet gets better eyes than I have. And a better immune system too.

Well, she's snuggled down for a nap in her new bed SHe chose this and this as her covers and ITNG is on the bed at the moment.

We are going through a demanding phase at the moment too. A guy at work has just had (well his wife has just had) a baby boy and I had to write in the card to always remember and repeat as required "It's just a phase, it's just a phase..." Am trying hard to remember that myself now.

Daisy, can you remind us of the link to your site please?

OK, my tea break is over, back to tidying up!

GrimRIAper · 15/10/2009 13:32

lacking in enthusiasm today. have only re-instated 3 plastic wine glasses from the salvation army box, and have a comlpletely clear shelf in the cookbook cupboard, no cull of books though, just crap. won't be clear long though (I have it earmarked for picnic stuff, but DH went to the place he used to work last night to colect some very expensive books he left behind, which will need a home

we had an argument a) about him going after work and not bothering to let me know where he was, and b) the fact that he left them there in the first place. His carelessness really annoys me. He had to drop by the hotel in York yesterday on the way home from seeing his kids to collect his laptop that he left there the other week. (It is only an old cheap thing that someone gave him cos they were throwing it out, but still...)

I bought some dance shoes on ebay the other day and they don't fit. Probably just as well though because they were too high and baggins yelled blue murder til I put them out of sight. Will have to go shoe shopping for something comfy with a heel before Monday!

LatinDAISYcal · 15/10/2009 19:37

not sure I'm allowed to jammy.....but it's "DS2's nickname"bums and it's co dot uk

OP posts:
LatinDAISYcal · 15/10/2009 19:45

I have managed to hoover the hall and stairs today and out a load of washing on and half empty the tumble drier.

And cleared up...two spills of the cat's water bowl, three spilled potty contents, bumble after he went guddling in the potty twice (including one poo), poo from the toilet seat (she keeps missing the hole ), a can of coke from DS1's bedroom floor, juice from under the kitchen table twice, wee from under the kitchen table once, wee from the bottom of the stairs once, puke from all over the car seat and finally.........a beaker of milk from the sofa....it was at that point that I stood in the middle of the floor and let out an ear splitting shriek and traumatised all my children

And I invariably forgot to do the one thing that DH had expressly asked me to do as well so he has the fooking hump

On a positive note, DS1 got a glowing report from his new teacher

And my new buggy arrived today ; tis truly a thing of wonder, turns on a sixpence and virtually steers itself!

Evening everyone.
Daisy, the site is looking nicer and more professional, good. However you need to pay more attention to your keywords to get people from Google, ie you have to repeat as much as possible without sounding forced. Also, that paragraph is long and people's attention spans are short on the web, they could do with being split up and given headings

You could also explain the content of the rest of the site briefly. Have to put DS to bed then I'll have a go at rewriting it for you

LatinDAISYcal · 15/10/2009 20:27

Ooooh, thanks Sputnik; I love Ya

Ok, everyone else skip this, it's a bit rough as it's late, so could probably do better:

Also page titles, page titles, page titles. You will get nowhere in google without them

LatinDAISYcal · 15/10/2009 21:48

cheers muchly Sputnik, you are a bloody diamond I know I have a lot to do on the googly thing though! By page titles do you mean adding keywords? If I click on properties there is a separate tab that allows me to put in a load of keywords and also a description? I am a bit of a novice at this whole thing!

I may be able to surface at Christmas time at this rate!!

Sputnik makes good sense there!

Bloody DH Conversation earlier went

Me: (while loading dishwasher) cough-cough-cough-cough... you get the picture, it went on for 10 minutes, really loadly

DH (finally wandering through from living room): Do you want me to finsh that?

Me (putting the last thing in while coughing gets worse): No it's OK, but I have to go to the loo quickly...

Few minutes later I return, empty the bins, change the cat litter, bag up all the rubbish and ask DH to take it out. DH comes back in...

Me: Thanks. Sorry about before but I coughed so hard I did slightly wee myself and I thought I was going to shit myself and be sick all at the same time.

DH: That doesn't sound good.

Me: No.

DH: But you didn't shit yourself and you weren't sick - but I have got binny paws!

Ohforfoxsake · 16/10/2009 15:06

Oh heavens! I'm never going to catch up am I?

Howdy all.

How are you all? Will try to catch up, but got distracted by the PM webchat. Very impressed to see him on here though.

Quick! Fill me in before the school run!

LatinDAISYcal · 16/10/2009 16:04

missd you foxy. saw bumper on the PM webchat

actually by the PM as well, he didn't answer my question about why he didn't come for tea last year when DS1 wrote and invited him, especially as he brought the Cabinet on Tour to Leeds a few weeks later.

Thanks Daisy. Just busy, you know how it is

Just finished kids christmas pressie shopping, have ordered the turkey, started to get details of houses for our move next year and going for our first reccy in November, and getting sorted for putting our house on the market after Christmas (when there's traditionally a lull in the property market . An April wedding to organise. That's on top of 4 packed lunches, PE kits to remember, spellings to practice, timestables to learn, football training/matches, ballet runs, kids parties and feeding/cleaning/housekeeping. DP is working like a loon and has been pretty much no use to me for months. I am showing the first buds of resentment to his employers if I am honest. They could at least give him a stonking big payrise for his 'promotion', but they won't.

I have all the cons of single-parenting and none of the pros.

Tis an arse.

GrimRIAper · 16/10/2009 18:09

hi foxy

we've been talking secret santa, but it sounds like you have enough on.

Is it your April wedding?

Ohforfoxsake · 16/10/2009 18:10
