He gets p'd off at me coughing and sneezing all the time. I understand it is annoying - and I feel for him that his sleep must be getting interupted as well - but like you said it's not my fault. I don't get ill on purpose you know!

LatinDAISYcal · 12/10/2009 21:27

aw trace that's not good about the statement Can they not speed it up? Do you have any children's centres near you? We use our local one and the stay and play groups are good; OK you are with them, but there is always lots going on that when we go, I take DD's coat off when we get there and put it back on when we leave and that's about the sum of my contact with her other than she might swing by for a quick cuddle. Do you not get any respite carers so that you and DH can have a break?

cross posted jammy....blardy DH's; silly sods sometimes aren't they?

are we doing a secret santa this year? Are there enough of us to make it worthwhile?

GrimRIAper · 12/10/2009 21:42

have been wondering about SS myself I think we should!

trace

and jammy. hope you feel better soon.

proper "latino" dancing daisy. (think the teacher could turn a bit "Arlene" if you are really rubbish), it's all women and she teaches the womens steps only. very aerobic. Am going to have to get some dancing shoes...

I really enjoyed having an hour out of the house without thinking about the kids/housework/DH. wish I could go to the Thursday class too, but even if DH was in to look after baggins, it's baggins church group day and I've dropped his Monday group for selfish purposes

GrimRIAper · 12/10/2009 21:50

has anyone had a FB email saying that there are too many unused accounts and new accoutns on FB and if you don't forward the email to 15 people in a certain time your account will be deleted?

LatinDAISYcal · 12/10/2009 21:56

I've seen something like that before Ria; tis a lot of nonsense and just malicious spam designed to clog up FB's servers. If FB had a genuine issue with an unused account (for which they have direct email contact details) they would contact the account holders directly or just delete automatically after so many days/months/years.

thought so daisy. it was from DHs DD to DS (he wanted his own farmville, he isn't allowed to use the FB bit). things like that bug me! Dsis sent me a chain text thingy last night and I had a rant to DM saying you'd think she was old enough to know better!

am stuffed tonight. too much excitement I think as DM and I went to school to have lunch with DS2 and then I spent the afternoon getting my OU stuff done and ready to post tomorrow (am so pleased it's over). can't find the energy to go and tidy up the kitchen and pour a glass of wine. DH is at work and playing pool between cooking

Ny aunt is in hopsital with a nasty sounding bowel problem she is having tests but keeps getting put to the back of the queue. Apparently she has been in hospital over a week and was taken in an ambulance, but my uncle (DMs only brother, and they live next door to each other) has been so upset he didn't tell anyone Mum is beside herself.

LittleMissNorticiaAdams · 12/10/2009 22:04

I'm up for SS this year

God I'm knackered.....DD sending me crazy....fiesty, independent, mouthy, moody, screechy PITA atm.

DS got top two teeth coming in, big sores on his bum, both of which don't affect his ability to sleep for hours during the day, but do at night . He also is learning what he is not allowed to touch, and spending all his waking moments trying to touoch them....

LittleMissNorticiaAdams · 12/10/2009 22:06

Ria about your Aunt...someone needs to do some foot-stamping up at the hospital. Those who shout loudest and all that....definately works in the NHS.

JammyOLantern · 12/10/2009 22:07

about your Aunt, Ria.

I'll be in on Secret Santa as well

Feeling so miserable here

GrimRIAper · 12/10/2009 22:21

what do the nuns need broadband for?

LatinDAISYcal · 12/10/2009 22:24

good question Ria....maybe for checking their bank account online? who cares; rooms looked gorgeous, nuns were all lovely. The prayers at dawn mmight be a bit of an inconvenience and I'd need to sell all my handbags, but just think of the peace and quiet . I wonder if they will take me for a week's retreat?

OP posts:
LatinDAISYcal · 12/10/2009 22:25

sorry about your Aunt Ria .

OP posts:
GrimRIAper · 12/10/2009 22:32

my BIL used to go off on retreat (the one in NZ), my nephew was baptised in a monastery chapel I think.
I could fancy a bit of peace and quiet and scenery

DS1 (recently the most religious person in the family) has decided he is an aetheist! (thanks to recent RE homework)

LittleMissNorticiaAdams · 13/10/2009 22:29

Oh isn't it quiet?

Or have you started a new thread and I haven't noticed?

LatinDAISYcal · 13/10/2009 23:52

waves

yooohooooooooo

sorry I missed you Norty, been busy this evening with PiTA stuff!

OP posts:
GrimRIAper · 13/10/2009 23:57

LOL daisy - warned you!

been lurking (waiting for someone else to turn up...)

but missed NOrty cos we were watching "Confetti". WHY do people bother??? Martin Freeman is so funny though. And love the wedding planners! we are going to buy several copies of the DVD for future engagement presents

GrimRIAper · 14/10/2009 09:44

morning

off to visit DHs DS today (birthday duty visit), though DH now has to go in to work for an hour, and has suggested going on his own, but I am all nicely dressed and ready even though I don't wnt to go, I want my day out as I don't want another day stuck in the house with the chaos by myself when I really think we should both be makijng an effort to stay in and sort it out. DH has got doing sod all round the house to a fine art

my aunt has ulcerative colitis, so while not great, it's not worst-case scenario. Think she'll be in hospital a while longer though as she has MS too and has also lost a lot of blood

GrimRIAper · 14/10/2009 10:03

DH has just gone off to work, and I am left wondering why he didn't say, sorry it's actually my day off and I can't come in because I have other plans. can you re-arrange meeting for a day I work there's no wonder he gets treated like a doormat is there?

LatinDAISYcal · 14/10/2009 10:09

Ria, your DH does seem to do stuff over and above the call of duty!

I have arranged a meeting next week with the council to see about getting my nappies in their trial packs . She seemed really keen. they have three people working on their nappy team (and none of them even have children ); I want a piece of that job!

I managed somehow to drip boiling water from a teabag ontpo my boob this morning and have a blister on my nipple. Can't wait to feed bumble later

Web design again today; I'm getting a bit of interest so need it to look more slick and informative.

OP posts:
GrimRIAper · 14/10/2009 16:27

ouch daisy. I have learned the hard way not to iron in my PJs without being extra careful.

baggins has an iffy tummy today

I have been blitzing the kitchen cupboards as I didn't go out. Have managed to clear out a box of mugs and glasses and various bits of tat, but there's still no bloody space.

LittleMissNorticiaAdams · 14/10/2009 17:17

Well I have done it!!!

I went along to collect a repeat prescription from the GP.....got there, got last parking space, woke up a sleeping baby to put in the buggy.....got to the building and they were closed for lunch . I couldn't fucking believe it.....they actually LOCK their doors at lunchtime, despite someone being in reception.

So, I looked around, found a medical centre near me with NINE doctors, chemist on-site, appointments from 8am-6pm and loads of clinics, masses of parking and taking on patients from my area

Took me long enough.....

Got a phone call to collect DD from nursery.....fever, listless etc....gets home and she's fine

LittleMissNorticiaAdams · 14/10/2009 17:19

Also means I don't have to use the chemist any more which I complained about. I was in there today, and funnily enough, they are selling Bonjela teething gel again

GrimRIAper · 14/10/2009 17:26

excellent news norty. can you see any one of the 9 GPs then or do you have to stick to 1? (I get confused by big places)

DH is working tonight too, and it's not looking like he'll be coming home first. I am too to be . They are going to have to put him on a FT contract soon I think.

Am worn out now, the rest of the kitchen will have to wait til tomorrow. Just hope I'm still feeling ruthless towards de-cluttering and I don't end up having to find space to put back everything I've chucked.

JammyOLantern · 14/10/2009 19:54

Well done Norty

And well done on the decluttering Ria! Be strong tomorrow or whenever you go back to it!

Took Jamlet for her eye check at the hospital today and it is slightly better than last time They still want to keep an eye (excuse the pun) on things though but next appt will be in 4-6 months time. But the really exciting bit for me was that I saw the circle in one of the tests that I have failed to see the past 3 times we have been

She got a comic for being very good at the hospital, but it has been confiscated for being naughty in the run up to bedtime WIll see what she can do to earn it back tomorrow.
