Sorry Ria, can't help with your restaurant problem

Feeling a little better thanks ladies Have stopped the booze and tried to be kind to myself. Shock horror I've actually found that talking to DH has helped, though he is now really worried about what I might do when he's not around Had a nice day today, with friends round for the afternoon so Jamlet and I made some chocolate refridgerator cake this morning and I made scones and that was all very therapeutic. Christmas tree and all that now boxed up again until next year, which normally makes me rather but I am a little relieved this time tbh - I think we had it up a little earlier than normal this year and I am now fed up with it. 60 gift tags for next year made from this years cards Rather to be going back to work tomorrow though. I think I could really benefit from a few days off by myself with DH at work and Jamlet at nursery. Not going to happen though

justbeme · 03/01/2010 23:20

So what car did you buy Norty and have you got it yet??

Tandem feeding - NO! heavens above!! I gave up BF'ing in October - 27mths was long enough!! No, I DID mean solid feeding and still shovelling in food to Lo!! Is any one still Bf'ing out of interest??

Xmas decs down - but dusting still to be done!

Oh and can I have a moan??
Took "Mil" out to dinner tonight - the first time she has seen me after DP announced to her that I was expecting -and she didn't even congratulate me - not even with my nearly 19week bump staring at her - Grrrr! Queue me shouting "bitch" in my bedroom and Lo then copying me - so I had to keep saying "Bit, bit, bit!"

LackaDAISYcal · 03/01/2010 23:32

19 weeks already jbm!!!! time flies! holly is still feeding afaik, and prolly sputnik as well?

I will still be feeding bumble when he is this age I'm sure, although have got it down to morning and night over the last couple of days, but that might be more difficult when DH isn't around and he is making demands of me.

should have been in bed an hour ago!

will try and post more in the NY, but bumble is so active now, I can't leave him alone for more than a milisecond and he is up to no good.

still got the tree to come down. Asked DH to do it earlier while I gutted the DC's bedroom and then made tea, but he "couldn't do it with Dd and bumble to look after" how I managed to put it up with three of them in tow is beyond me . Anyhoo will do it tomorrow and shame the bugger!!

LittleMissNorty · 04/01/2010 09:00

Does that mean you're due in June again JBM? I remember being about 16 weeks pg at Xmas with DD. Much better than being 36 weeks as I was with DS! Oh how exciting. Have you found out what you're having?

What is it about MILs

Well offically back to normal today....hurrah!

Got a Renualt scenic JBM and DH collects tonight . So we are a renualt family as we already have a laguna estate! The punto had too many issues that would have cost a lot to sort out so we just px'd it!

Sputnik · 04/01/2010 10:29

We have a Scenic too, I love it especially the upright driving position and the extra rear view mirror for spying on DCs.

Arse to your MIL JBM, I like to hope when the time comes I will be a better MIL myself!

I stopped BF around october too, although I still seem to have milk .

justbeme · 04/01/2010 22:05

Yes due in June - the 2nd - but more likely to be plus 11 days - my other 2 were both 11 days over!!

Hope you're car arrived safely Norty! We'll be looking to get a bigger car later this year.

Sputnik - I hope my children don't feel the same way about me as I do my parents/mil - when im older. I just hope I'll realise that I'm deaf and do something about it, go into another room to watch my tv extra loud, and take an interest in my grandchildren etc. Wouldn't it be lovely to go away somewhere next Xmas to get away from family!!!!!!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 04/01/2010 22:38

Ooooh, June 13th (2+11) is an excellent day to give birth JBM!

Next Christmas it is just the 3 of us - our rota gives us one year in 3 with no parents

LittleMissNorty · 05/01/2010 08:10

Oh I was due on the 13th and gave birth on the 2nd .

Our rota means on our own only one in two Xmas's . Bloody families.

Was in the kitchen last night and K was crying.....went to investigate and she had stood up from the potty to investigate whether she had produced a small or a big poo (hmm) and E took his moment and grabbed a portion and was munching away . DD was crying cos its was "mine poo" . OMG it was revolting! No-one warned me motherhood would sink to these levels

Thankfully I'm at work today

LittleMissNorty · 05/01/2010 08:12

PS car is fab.... Sure the novelty will wear off soon! At least we have 2 cars with electronic handbrakes now and I won't need to worry about walking off and not putting the handbrake on - as I frequently did with the punto!

LackaDAISYcal · 05/01/2010 12:44

ew ew ew Norty, but ...gotta love kids!!

I love my Scenic, but it is a bit too greedy on fuel ime. I used to get about 45-50 mpg from my civic, but only getting 30-35 from the Scenic. I love all the automatic features as well; lights, handbrake, wipers...takes a lot of the thinking out oif driving

right, off out in the snow again to collect DS1. School is closing early and may be closed tomorrow as well. They weren't in yesterday due to gas leak/no heating; bloody part timers! and wondering; go sledging or be a grump and stay indoors?

Ohforfoxsake · 05/01/2010 14:38

That, Norty, is one story to bring out at their 18th birthday parties! Any prospective partner you don't like - that's how to get rid of them!

Tree down, things back to normal

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 05/01/2010 18:03

Yuuuuuuuuk! Norty that is one horrible tale!

Left work early as it started snowing. Been playing at vets with Jamlet - with me as her patient If the predicted fall comes tonight then we'll be at home tomorrow. I'm not making a big effort to get in and take her to nursery for half a day.

In the meantime, night out tonight for a curry with the girls. Thankfully it's just across the road from here.

Ohforfoxsake · 06/01/2010 13:37

This is not the weather for battling the Christmas bulge!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 06/01/2010 13:41

I know what you mean Foxy. I have however sorted out our hamper of treats - yes with what we were given and DH's Hotel Chocolat sales bargains we have a hamper's worth of chocs and sweets and put most of them away out of direct temptation.

Been out in the snow first thing this morning with Jamlet, and we made an ickle snowman. She's napping now but I hope we go out to the field when she wakes and meet some friends to make a bigger one and have some snowball fun. I've taken the day off work, DH had to go in but was home by lunchtime and I think after more snow fun he'll be making us all hot chocolate to warm up

Ohforfoxsake · 06/01/2010 14:10

at your napping LO

We were out over the common today, as playgroup closed until next week. Big kids gutted school not closed. I admit, I'd have liked to have them home today.

I am bored out of my mind.

LackaDAISYcal · 06/01/2010 22:11

Good to see you posting foxy . how are things going with the big move? totally agree with it not being the weather for dieting...we have been living on big hearty stews and gallons of hot chocolate.

No school here (unfortunately). And I am too unfit and knackered of pelvis/hip for messing about in the snow . Thank goodness for neighbours and their DS's is all I can say!! Although they came back early with the complaint was that there was "too much snow"

lovely photos of jamlet in the snow jammy

DD loved it but got cold too quickly, but bumble hated it; once I had stuffed him onto loads of layers and his slightly too big wellies, the poor thing couldn't move. He was happy enough just standing, but howled everytime he tried to take a step as he kept falling flat on his face; he had a wee snow goatee beard and tache!!

I am knackered. DH off work today so I went back to bed for a bit, and slept for almost two hours. I also fell asleep on the sofa for half an hour after the DC went to bed and am still knackered

Ohforfoxsake · 07/01/2010 11:41

DS1 still off school Daisy?

Am not wanting to diet, but have just tried on my wedding dress so I'm motivated again!! Couldn't quite do the zip up in the middle

Getting interest in our place, so hoping to get under offer so we can make an offer. We've found two lovely places. Getting up to the North is a nightmare, but I think we'd be happy with either.

Invites ordered, guest list being whittled down (its the only thing DP and I have rowed about in ages) and just ordered my shoes. Not having flowers to decorate (is that a mistake?) opting instead for a simple 3 arm candelabra on each table. I'm having a simple bouquet, and so are the girls.

My shoes are the only thing I've paid full price for. Couldn't find a Faith code anywhere. Next gave me the boys suit trousers free as they stuffed up on their website. Candelabras were a fiver down from £18 - so cheaper to buy than rent. Trouble is, two were broken so I'm one short. Everything else has been bought in the sale or with cashback. Holly would be proud!!

LittleMissNorty · 07/01/2010 12:06

Sounds fab Foxy Are you getting married in church or a hotel?

More poxy snow here - got up to London and back yesterday without incident. It was odd cos I was in the snow at my local station, got off the train under cover at St Pancras, got on the tube without having to go outside and went to South Ken - used the undergroound museum subway, went outside for about a minute to walk to my destination. So didn't see much of London!

Wonder if I'm going to get to Frankfurt next week? Or even Heathrow for that matter

Ohforfoxsake · 07/01/2010 12:15

Neither. A sort of country house venue. Kind of thing. Don't want to say much about it on here. I do forget its a public forum!

Happy to put on FB though.

We haven't had that much snow. More due about now, but glorious sunshine.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 07/01/2010 14:20

We have glorious sunshine today, though there is obviosuly plenty of snow on the ground still. We had enough yesterday that you can now hardly see the eyes and nose on the snowman we made first thing, but seems like we had none since late afternoon yesterday. Jamlet wasn't so happy going out in it today, but I think I timed it badly as I realised when we got back that it was past her snack time.

Sounds like you've done well with your wedding plasn Foxy. Am impressed!

LittleMissNorty · 07/01/2010 15:40

Just been out in our garden and made the most pathetic snowman for K....is there a trick to doing it? How do you make the head - and then get it to stay on the body?

Ours is just a mound of snow with a play sausage mouth and carrot eyes and nose and the fucking dog nicked the carrot and ate it

Not my idea of fun really!

Ohforfoxsake · 07/01/2010 17:24

Snowman building = blue job

happynewRia · 07/01/2010 17:44

CATC`H UP LATER. pc TROUBLE

Sputnik · 07/01/2010 20:23

LOL at your snowman building antics Norty. Foxy is right, as ever

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 07/01/2010 21:33

My counsellor rang earlier to cancel Friday's session because of the snow. Fair enough, and good for me as if I had cancelled (which I was thinking of doing as I really didn't fancy driving) I would have had to pay anyway. But ooooh, so much I want to talk about I seem to have improved since I stopped drinking, but the way I was feeling last weekend really worried me and I've just had a difficult decision to make as well - not to apply for a promotion at work. It's in a different group and I don't much fancy the work it'd involve, BUT it is a promotion and who knows when the next one will be available? Part of me thinks I should have applied anyway but part of me knows there is more to life than money and that if my heart isn't in it then is there much point applying anyway as it WILL show and go against me.
