Well a parcel came today, with 3 packages in but no sender indicated so THANK YOU SANTA!!!!!!!!!

DH is amazed that I am stressing about having too much to do to get ready to go tomorrow. "We should have been going at lunchtime today" he says. Ah yes, but the plan was to take her to nursery this morning, and I bet I can get as much done in 4 hourswithout her as in 16 hours with here here!

WewishyouaNORTYxmas · 23/12/2009 17:45

Oh my SS parcel arrived .....can't wait to open.....beautifully wrapped as well!

Gotta run - DH is installing Windows7 and its just taken me 10 minutes to find out what my current MN name is and I'm just hoping I can remember my password!

Will be back!

bugger - tried 3 passwords so far - 4th time lucky!

WewishyouaNORTYxmas · 23/12/2009 17:45

Yay - remembered - eventually!

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 23/12/2009 20:29

fecking sky box has just gone tits up. Lines and interference all over it, then it switched itself off and won't switch back on.

fucking brilliant

norty I always forget the Christmas smileys as well.

DH is off out to try and get hold of Lego Indiana Jones for either PS2 (preferably) or Wii as DS1 has announced his world will end if Santa doesn't bring it . The things we do for our children!!

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 23/12/2009 20:32

...but DH came home with a 14lb turkey today that he was gifted by a supplier , so looks like our menu has changed for Christmas Day as it will definately not fit in the "too frosty to get any food in" freezer!!

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 23/12/2009 21:27

Well we are all packed up (bar a few last minute bits to throw in in the morning) and off to Norfolk in the morning. I hope DH finds the game Daisy and Merry Christmas everyone!

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 23/12/2009 22:01

TV crisis averted

Have a safe journey jammy and I hope you have a fantastic Christmas

It's lovely that all the DC are at the age that they understand a bit more of what's going on

Ohforfoxsake · 23/12/2009 22:38

Merry Christmas Jammy - have a lovely time. Glad you are getting to go

you might get some leftovers with that one Daisy

DP being a miserable fucker so I'm off to bed. We're having a lovely time so far (apart from Scratchy Knickers over there on the sofa).

and a happy Christmas to you! xx

WewishyouaNORTYxmas · 23/12/2009 23:01

Have a lovely Xmas Jammy

Given up trying to catch up....

Got the sky box working Daisy? They really are bollocks....we may revisit Virgin after Xmas. We've got a HD one and that is shit as well.

DH and I had to share looking after a D&V ridden DS today as wel both had to go into work to do last minute bits before Xmas. DS done 6 nappies for me this morning with 3 changes of clothes and 2 baths and between 12pm and 5pm, he done one slightly dirty nappy

MIL tomorrow....gets better doesn't it?

Just watch Spooks - edge of the seat stuff!

Just in case I don't get on in the next few days - have a great Xmas everyone

WewishyouaNORTYxmas · 23/12/2009 23:03

Well that was a clear as mud.....I done morning childcare and DH done the afternoon....bloody child only one dirty nappy on his shift!!! Why is that? Its like when they finally offer to get up during the night cos you're dead on your feet, and then said child sleeps through - happens every sodding time in this house!

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 23/12/2009 23:58

A friend may have to scupper her plans due to the weather so we can step in and offer lunch

sods law norty....dontcha just hate it!

Well, with the exception of DD's big present (which DH was going to build up tomorrow but thankfully looked in the box tonight as it needed glueing and min 24 hours drying before use!!) all the "Santa" pressies are wrapped, just granparents, DH's, and the DC to each other, but they wanted to help so leaving them till tomorrow. I'm in shock as I'm never this organised and am usually still wrapping at 2am!!!

Soooooo excited; DH got the game, but for the "family" Wii, not DS1's PS2 (I doubt he'll care though) and DD's only slightly girly pink kitchen is just fab (no basin with it though, just a hole which is a teeny bit of a disappointment) and I really wanted to have a scoot round the kitchen on bumble's wheelybug.

Aaaaaaaannnnnd, we have had more snow; it's looking fantastci out there!

WewishyouaNORTYxmas · 24/12/2009 06:54

oh blimey....glue and everything! DH is building DDs kitchen tonight as well....never thought of that!

Up and dressed waiting for Tesco's! Mind you, DS was up at 5am in the bath covered from head to foot in poo . Thank god for sleeping bags to hold it all in! He went back to sleep though so really hoping they are still asleep when Tesco's come.

Wonder if there is so much snow in Buckinghamshire that MIL won't be able to make it? Snow all gone here now.....just ice left!

Ohforfoxsake · 24/12/2009 07:27

Don't think so Norty. We had a storm last night and that washed everything away.

Santa did all his wrapping on Monday, and still was up til 1.30am. We don't put anything under the tree until tonight (LO has been sneakily opening the fake present tree decorations ) so with Santa's in the morning it should be exciting.

Am nervously waiting for Ocado.

And the engineer to come and fix the dishwasher. Why when you put your house on the market, a week before Christmas, does everything break?

Thankfully someone thought to invent disposable roasting trays.

Am cooking Nigella's ham in coke this morning, and having people here through the day for a mince pie and glass of fizz.

DP having to scoot out this morning to find book for DS2 which he asked Santa for yesterday. Never a mention of it before. He's wanted a DS all bloody year.

He has got his DS, but from us. I'm not giving santa the bleedin' credit on that one!

WewishyouaNORTYxmas · 24/12/2009 08:58

Oh well! She'll have to come then I spose!

Tesco's turned up - got everything except goosefat - so not too bad. Will nip out to Waitrose whilst kids are having breakfast.

Turkey in oven . Don't do it Xmas day....far more interesting things to do!

I have two pressies still to wrap and that's it! Told DH about your kitchen Daisy, and he will build it this morning in the garage - never thought of that one!!

We also have NOTHING under our tree yet (except a table)....its still wonky where DS kept yanking it over

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 24/12/2009 10:31

We have a few pressies under the tree that we have been given by friends and secret santas and DH and DS1 wrapped mine last night so they are under there...the rest, from rellies are in boxes in the back room and will all get put out tonight.

Santa had a genius idea and used different wrapping paper for each DC, thereby removing the need to write lots of tags, so they will know whose is whose instantly! She really is rather clever

Another few inches of snow here; we are off out to play in it as soon as we're all dressed....if nothing else it'll wear the buggers out. I'm going to put thick socks over bumble's shoes and then tape freezer bags round them so he can play as well

WewishyouaNORTYxmas · 24/12/2009 23:25

Santa has been and went a bit barmy I think!

Happy Christmas everyone

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 26/12/2009 07:51

Well that's it al over for another year

We had a fantastic day here! The kids were great; only a couple of minor disagreements easily solved by distraction and one tantrum from DS1 that was solved with threatening to remove toys! Partly the success was down to them being in different rooms of the house most of the day , but hey, it worked!!!

Today is an entirely different kettle of fishing; there have been arguments since they got up this morning, not helpd by the fact that bumble was up half the night and is beside himslef with tiredness but is refusing to go back to sleep. He is still choked with the cold and pretty miserable as well.

gtg, breakfast will help I hope!

I hope everyone had a lovely day

Sputnik · 26/12/2009 11:54

Just popping in to say Merry Christmas!
I am in Wales but we had a hell of a time getting here, got diverted to Birmingham then bussed back down to Bristol. Wouldn-t have been too bad except this was in the middle of the night and so I got no sleep at all. We finally arrived at my parents at 7 in the morning, and had to walk the last bit in the snow!

Anyway had a great xmas, the kids built a snowman on xmas eve, wonder if they-ll ever get to do that again!

gloRiaInExcelsisDeo · 26/12/2009 21:01

snowman sounds a lovely end to your nightmare journey sputnik.

Just a quick and late happy christmas from me.

I fell down the bottom half of the stairs on Wednesday and twisted both ankles, my right one badly. Had to spend xmas eve limping round town finishing the shopping I didn't do on Tuesday with being taken ill in Tesco, and also because DH butcher did not deliver our gammon or beef. Santa was still wrapping gifts at 3am on xmas eve, baggins and DS2 both decided to wake up around 2.30 (and unfortunately were awake when the stockings were delivered). Had a great day with my parents and sister yesterday at my sisters (despite the mnor road accident outside my sisters front room!), DH even made it home by 7pm to have tea with us. DH spent the morning today decluttering and hoovering while I cooked for my parents and sister tonight. It's all ended early though due to the ice and fog.

Am knackered. DH has just put baggins to bed, and is playing Hells Kitchen on Wii with the boys

I am going to see Grimethorpe Colliery Band in April, love my sis.

justbeme · 26/12/2009 22:54

Happy belated Xmas everyone!!
Had a good day yesterday - just feel so flipping tired though!
No glue needed for our "kitchen", but it took DP about 4-5 hrs to build and is massive!! Even stopped him from going out to the pub on Xmas Eve as he was still building it!
Hope you're feeling better Ria - doesnt sound good.

So any one had any good bargains in the sales?

I refused to go to the shops today as I don't think any one should have had to work today!!

gloRiaInExcelsisDeo · 26/12/2009 23:10

no sale shopping for me. DS1 is wanting me to order something on Amazon, but I think he can wait a bit.

DH back to work tomorrow, so we'll be staying in and have invited friends over for mince pies and tea in the afternoon(will make a change from drinking wine with them!)

yesterday we were all lucky enough to get "Buffs" in our stockings and we all wore them all day around our necks... I have just (finally) had a quiet moment to myself to open my SS prezzie, and I am now sat in my pink PJs with a gorgeous fluffy scarf on and a box of posh chocs next to me THANK YOU SECRET SANTA!

WewishyouaNORTYxmas · 27/12/2009 16:26

Hello

Well thank god its all over and done with. I still have piles of toys everywhere and don't know what the bloody hell to do with them all

DDs kitchen went down very well as the the huge aqua draw mat. Talking toys however (Woody, Jessie, Buzz and Mr Potato head) she hates and won't go anywhere near them . She was bought a hobby horse which she loved until someone pressed the "press me" button and she dropped it like a hot brick and won't go anywhere near it now. Odd child!

DS into everything and now standing up reaching all the things he shouldn't!

MIL gone home today....thank god. Hardly took any notice of the children "shall I get the baby" ....spent much of her time outside smoking , done FA to help and forgot everyones name "little miss"....."baby"...."dog" . Glad we only have to do this once every two years!

Sounds like a nightmare journey Sputnik....hope journey home is better....although sounds like security is up atm (I'm going to Frankfurt in a couple of weeks so will have to leave even earlier now).

Hope you feel better Ria.....posh chocs sound nice [famile]

I got a lovely photo frame from my SS....thank-you . It will sit on my desk with a photo of the DCs in.

Done the M&S on-lione sale last night and bought some xmas pressies for next year . NEXT sale was crap as usual so will go to the shops on Wednesday hopefully.

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 27/12/2009 19:55

Just had a quick read of everyone else's Xmas stories - but port has kicked in so have instantly forgot half of it!

Ria, hope you're feeling a bit better/less sore now. I sprained my ankle on Xmas Eve on the way to midnight mass, was agony so I feel for you!

Jamlet had a fab time I think. She loves her xylophone (thanks MIL!) and her Baby Annabell doll and her vet set, and can't wait until tomorrow when I have said she can try out her new paints (now we are home). We just got back about 4pm today and the front room is covered with piles of toys still, so I have to spend a bit of time tonight sorting it all out, clearing out old toys, and putting the new stuff away. Oh and DH and I still have some things to unwrap as we couldn't fit it in the car to go to my parents.

I did a Mini-Mode sales shop before Xmas, then DH did a hotel chocolate online order on Xmas Day, and yesterday we went to Lush and Next and Fat Face and scored some good bargains while we did our best to prop up the economy .

Tomorrow I am cooking another Xmas dinner, but with chicken instead of turkey, to make it up to DH - unfortunately my Mum's cooking isn't what it was and he was very disappointed with Christmas Dinner. So that's something else to do tonight - look up recipes and cooking times etc. So best get on!

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 27/12/2009 19:59

Oh and Happy Birthday Natty!!!

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 27/12/2009 20:19

Hellooooo

sounds like some hectic goings on for everyone! We have had a hectic few days...visit to the docs for bumble with his ears, but apparently no infection, although he is still very bunged up in the nose and ear department. He is back to his usual mischief causing self today though so must be on the mend!

Been playing on the Wii with DS1, and trying to teach Dd how to play snap with her Peppa Pig cards, with hilarious consequences. Her kitchen is going down a treat, as is the till from BIL and play food and groceries from MIL (only my MIL could get imitation M&S play shopping; it's class ). She also loves the bumble-bug and turfs bumble off whenever she has the chance!

Ankles sound painful Ria; I hope they are a bit better now.

Sorry for the MIL endurance event Norty; I hope your jaw isn't too sore from all the forced grinning

Shame about the disappointing christmas meal Jammy and I hope you have a nice meal tomorrow.

journey sounds hideous sputnik; I hope it didn't spoil things too much. the kids will have good memories of the snowman building I hope; I still remember the White Christmas we had when I was about four; we were having snowball fights in our new jammies and slippers before breakfast

I got some rather hideous presents from my SIL and a dodgy jumper from my Sis, but other than that was happy with my lot.

SS pressies sound good all round.

right, back to casualty, wine and scrabble.
