And sorry, I missed saying that glad DS is on the mend Norty.

LackaDAISYcal · 29/11/2009 22:22

sympathy jammy; Dd is being more than a little challenging at the minute. DS1 winds her up all the time so she spends her time squealing/screeching/crying/shouting.

I find my 20something nephews really hard to buy for.

I'm glad DS is better Norty. Did the ventolin help? Are they worried about asthma?

That's a bit of a shocker about DS not getting any food at his mate's house Ria! Do people really expect to have their DC's friends over for seven hours and NOT feed them???

bumble back to his happy wee self today...YAY . Not sure it was HFM though as apart from the temp and some blisters in his mouth and a couple of dodgy looking spots on his bottom, he hasn't had anything on his hands or feet. And now DD has the raging temp and feeling ill. She actually asked to go to bed this morning (and not just her bed, she wanted in the cot, bless her) and woke up with a temp of 40 . She has had HFM so if it's the same thing bumble has had, bumble can't have had HFM. Sick of illness though; 3 weeks and counting. On the upside though, bumble went through until 5.30 for the first time in weeks

I have been knitting a new wardrobe for DD's baby this weekend. Made a soaker, a pair of trousers, a lovely red merino tunic and a fluffy pink scarf. DaisyBaby (don't ask) is now the best dressed dolly in all Yorkshire; she even has a cloth nappy!! which started off life as a keyring but is just the right size for this teeny tiny dolly.

Ouch for Yorkshire and flood alerts. Thank goodness I live near the top of a hill!!

Bloody marvellous news JBM! Delighted for you

Hello everyone, hope you are all well.

Haven't really caught up (JBM's news stood out!) but hope everything is OK.

Am not here much because of everything that is our crazy life but hope to be able to sit on my arse for extended periods chatting to you sometime next October.

Instead of spending extended periods sat on my arse perusing Rightmove, Confetti or washing my windows, painting the bathroom, feeding 6 people and washing oh the washing.

Much love xx

Sputnik · 30/11/2009 09:41

Look forward to that Foxy!
You have my sympathies about the househunting, it is really really stressful isn't it. And it was hard enough for us when the area we were looking in was an hour or so's drive away, must be even worse for you.

Having a few problems here myself with DS and sleep, he can't seem to get into a rhythm withit, I think he is almost ready to drop the nap but can't quite make it. If he does he falls asleep over dinner then wakes at 5, which is not really how I like to start a sunday.

JammyOLantern · 30/11/2009 12:59

We're at that "not quite ready to drop a nap" stage too Sputnik. She'll have one on Monday and Tuesday at nursery, but I think there it's a case of they all do it and it's what she expects. But she'll really resist it at home. If I do get her settled in her bed she doesn't seem to actually nap, as I hear her chattering away, but at least she has some sort of rest I suppose. Last week she fell asleep at about 5pm on a couple of days - had refused to nap but couldn't quite make it to bedtime - and was then a grumpy little bugger when I woke her a bit later. One day she even missed her dinner because she was too upset to eat!

Nice to see you there Foxy! Really not envying you the move at all - and with all the usual stuff AND a wedding as well!! No wonder we don't see much of you these days!

LittleMissNorty · 30/11/2009 13:05

We're still at the 3 hour nap stage (as well as 7-7)

Just need to get DS into the same routine

Sputnik · 30/11/2009 13:11

I don't want to know!

Rialentless · 30/11/2009 16:47

not had time to catch up after a busy weekend, hope I'll get on later.

just a reminder that it's the secret santa deadline TONIGHT. Please FB me if you're in (thanks for the replies so far!)

LittleMissNorty · 01/12/2009 13:00

Ohhh I'm at work having lunch in the P&Q of my office . Its all a bit odd wearing proper clothes and mak-up and everything!

Just rung nursery and DD and DS are both fast asleep . why won't they nap at the same time for me?

JammyOLantern · 01/12/2009 17:56

I am of P&Q in the office. Builders converting the floor below me into open plan office. And tomorrow is meant to be one of the worsy days, so I have decided to have the morning off (only work half day anyway on Weds).

Big problems here this morning - firstly she deliberately poured her milk over the carpet because it wasn't in a sippy cup (Santa has requested them as he likes to see big girls drinking from big girl cups); then 3 minutes screaming because I put a crust of bread the had fallen on the floor in the bin

Oh and nobody has handed in the purse I (am sure I) dropped on the bus last night

LittleMissNorty · 01/12/2009 20:07

terrible 2's have arrived then Jammy?

about the purse....did you lose much?

LackaDAISYcal · 01/12/2009 20:41

proper clothes and makeup and everything???? Nope, not a clue what you're talking about Norty

Saw your FB status that you survived! Well Done. The first day back is always the worst.

Oh dear Jammy; we have days like that here too.

Had a major panic attack Ria; I thought you meant we had to have sent them out by tonight!!!! I have too many SSs going on. Got my nappy thread fluffy santa pressie today and am dying to open it.

Good to see you Foxy; sounds hectic!! And I'm right there with you re the washing! Where does it all come from???

Been knitting for Scotland as well so not had time to even switch the pooter on, never mind post.

DD was in bed at 5.15 today . She has been poorly for a few days but seemed to be on the mend, although still a bit pale and wan. Anyhoo, she wouldn't eat her tea and was being a little monkey; making faces at DS1 and winding him up, so I said if she didn't behave she would be sent to bed to which she asked could she please go to bed as she was very tired . So, off she went and not had a peep out of her since then. No doubt she'll be up at the crack of dawn tomorrow, and I'm flying solo tonight as DH is in Herefordshire.

JammyOLantern · 01/12/2009 22:01

not much lost thankfully Norty - just a driving license, a £10 gift voucher, and a heap of other cards. I cancelled the bank and credit cards straight away, and today I sorted out the reward cards as I worked out I had about £40 worth on them. So not much monetary loss, but it's still so because of the hassle, and I'd only just bought that purse (and I'm really fussy so it had taken ages to find one I like) and it had photos and some squashed pennies that DH had got me from different places

LackaDAISYcal · 01/12/2009 22:09

aw jammy, sorry about the lost purse. As someone equally fussy about purses, I know how difficult it is to find one you liek. And losing personal stuff is always hard.

It might get handed in yet?

trace2 · 02/12/2009 20:32

hello all

am in shock, am going to be a grandma!!!!!!

Sputnik · 02/12/2009 20:49

Wow Trace!
Didn't know you had older DCs.

LittleMissNorty · 02/12/2009 21:18

Wow Trace

What a PITA Jammy....I am also fussy about my purse and it takes me ages to get used to a new one. Don't have the same issues with handbags though!

I am knackered! Up at 6am (having already been up between 3-4am), sort myself out, wake up DD, wash and dressed and downstairs, wake up a grumpy DS who doesn't want to get up so early, wash and dress him. All have milk , tea, play. We go to work, kids to nursery. SHIT busy day at work (people are now realising I'm back), lunch at 3.40pm, leave at 4.30pm, drive down a 3 lane motorway at 40mph cos its raining so hard and I can't see (even though some twats still bombing it down the outside lane ), get fucking soaked getting out of car into nursery....pick up one child, then the other, all get fucking soaked getting in the car. Take 30 minutes to get home for a 5 minute journey cos of the weather, moaning kids included, home, snacks, bath and bed, shower for me, cook dinner, clear up, start work again, get ironing in and I still have the tumble dryer to empty, washing machine to empty and re-load tumble and organise clothes etc for the morning.

Sod this for a laugh! and I've got it all to do again tomorrow!

Sorry needed a moan there....bit of a shock to the system after a year off!!

Well Man City must be winning going by the racket coming out of my lounge!

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 02/12/2009 22:01

Wow Trace indeed!!!!

Sorry about your day Norty I got soaked coming back from town - 20 min walk and I never did get the hang of holding an umbrella while pushing the pushchair and carrying shopping. (Mind, I hate umbrellas at the best of times.) But I had a good morning off work, did loads of housework and had a lovely soak in the bath (so shame I got wet through later!).

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 02/12/2009 22:04

Oh, and I found someone else's purse on the path today as I went to get Jamlet from nursery at lunchtime. I had a quick peek and there was a Lloyds TSB card in there, so as there is a Lloyds TSB bank just up the road I took it up there and they said they would trace the owner. But that meant we missed our bus by about 2 minutes so we had to wait for half an hour. Lets hope that the "do good things and good things will happen to you" thing is true and I may yet get my wallet back?

Rialentless · 02/12/2009 22:56

congrats Trace

phew for your day Norty. Hope you get a bit of good karma Jammy.

Am just waiting for another email for SS, so I'll be in touch soon!

LittleMissNorty · 03/12/2009 08:16

we've had a few weeks of hell as all three kiddies had swine flu.
ellen got it the worst, we were worried we might have to hospitalise her as high temp would not go down, she wouldnt drink or eat. v scary!

congrats trace! i did the same thing to my mum and had kids early made her feel very old!

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 03/12/2009 21:58

Hi Trace, fingers crossed for a medically uneventful advent and Christmas for you!

And Natty, I hadn't realsied from your FB comments that they ALL had SF. Poor you!!

My Dad's poorly again More of the dizzy spells that he had about 18months back. But yesterday he blacked out for a few seconds He's having a load of tests at the hospital tomorrow, so fingers crossed they find out what's wrong this time. In the meantime we are off to Cumbria tomorrow to have a pre-Christmas get together and present exchange (we won't open them though) with DH's family. So back on Sunday.

Rialentless · 03/12/2009 22:11

best of luck to your Dad Jammy. Have a great time in Cumbria. Have you been to that sculpture park? (no idea where it is, I know we pass it when we go to Silloth, after Whinfell)
