Not been to one in Cumbria ria. Went to the Yorkshire sculpture park though years and years ago and it was very nice. OK, bed for me now. Early start planned. DH wants to be on the road at 7

Rialentless · 03/12/2009 23:12

too early!
here jammy

OK, everyone who was up for SS should be receiving an email with the details of who they are sending to. I set up a new email address for it (so I couldn't peek at my FB/hotmail inbox!) so please check your spam folder for mail from secret _ santa 09 at live... it may come up with my name though as I set it up. Happy gifting!

LackaDAISYcal · 04/12/2009 00:28

Congratulations Trace . I hope your Dd isn't feeling too ill and also that the gods of happy yuletide smile on you and keep Chloe well too. I'm sure Jack isn't missing out at all, and that having a sister is a rewarding experience for him. Does he know he is going to be an uncle though????

Natty; sorry for all the SF poorliness Likewise, I haven't been on enough to realise what was going on and I miss so much on FB with this new news feed/live feed thing; sometimes the edited highlights highlight the wrong things!!

I only seem to be able to skim read these days on here too and am missing a lot!

Norty; I hope you had a much better day today (oops, I mean yesterday). It will get easier!

I had to laugh at the MN development email about 2.5 year olds....soo sooo true

Ria....got my SS email thanks

so much going on here; house stuff, manic toddlers (yikes I have two toddlers ), work stuff, school stuff (I am still dreaming of buns three days after the bun sale). I'm neglecting my scrabble games and my crops, not to mention MN . For the first time ever I have only THREE "threads I'm on"

LackaDAISYcal · 04/12/2009 00:32

of the visit to Cumbria, but I hope you are avoiding all the recent flooded areas jammy. The Sculpture Trail is at Grizedale Forest and is really good. There is a short, pram/toddler accessible trail which has lots of musical sculptures like giant xylophones. Great fun

Rialentless · 04/12/2009 00:49

LOL daisy. I haven't been on farmville for ages. I hope my animals don't explode!

manic pre-christmas cleaning supposed to be going on here, I really don't have time for it to be taking as long as it is! I did get some effort out of DH one day this week though don't know when the hell I'll get out to finish the shopping though. or where the tree will go. we might have to make do with a small one! Am looking forward to receiving a copy of DH's "set in stone" work hours for the festive period tomorrow!

I have been invited to the staff party at DHs work! Meal (DH cooking of course, so not much of a night for him), grown-up magician, and a room for the night (presumably I would have to share said room with DH). I can't go though. Too much anxiety, too many people, and also my aunt is not doing well in hospital so unfair to even think of asking my parents to have the boys over night. (Do you have difficulty finding someone to baysit all 3 at the same time? Maybe I suffer too much guilt?)

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 06/12/2009 00:25

waves to all

where is everyone?

FrazzledFairyFay · 06/12/2009 19:06

I just came on to say hello, but it looks like no-one's around

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 06/12/2009 19:14

I'm here Fairy, not too long back from Cumbria. Was a lovely weekend. We had a nice lunch out with DH's rellies on Saturday and then went to see an old uni friend of mine and her 2 DSs in the afternoon. Her youngest is 6 and he played really nicely with Jamlet, getting out some of his "baby" toys for her He is very sweet and had apparently been looking forward to playing with a little girl all afternoon.

FrazzledFairyFay · 06/12/2009 19:19

Hi Jammy - love the christmas name.

It sounds like you had a lovely time. We were out all day at old family friends' of DH's yesterday and had a quiet day today - we decorated the tree which the DCs loved, then Dh went off to watch rugby and we pottered about for the rest of the day.

Why do weekends go so fast?

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 06/12/2009 19:22

Oh I know! I could really do with another day on this weekend, especially after being away.

We're holding off with the decorations for a bit longer here, but Jamlet liked looking at Christmas trees while we were out at the weekend and we saw some lights outside people's houses walking back from her friend's this afternoon which she thought was cool. Some were VERY tacky, but I think to a 2yo the tackier the better! She'll probably be very disappointed that all we'll have on show to the outside world is a single string of white lights in the front window.

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 06/12/2009 20:14

i'm here....meant to be Christmas Shopping. Struggling with stuff for DS1 as all the Star Wars Lego that means something to him is sold out

got bumble mostly sorted now thankfully (opted for a wheelybug as it will suit his gung-ho attitude to personal safety and you can never have too many death traps wheeled things can yu? ), so only DS1 to get stuff for.

Glad you had a good weekend jammy. I always feel like a day off after being away with my lot as well.

No decorations here yet...next weekend will be plenty of time. I can only imagine th carnage especially as bumble is on his feet now and can climb on the sofa and will probably be able to reach it if he hangs out off the arm of it!!!

Sputnik · 06/12/2009 20:30

Still got some shopping to do here as well, but got our tree up. Will decorate tomorrow. Thought we might as well as we are off on the 20th.

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 06/12/2009 21:38

Ooooh, I just listed the things I need to buy to complete my Christmas shopping and I can get almost all of it in Sainsburys

LittleMissNorty · 06/12/2009 22:37

Hello

We put decorations up yesterday....one room tasteful and the other no so tasteful . DS has already had a go at the tinsel and beads.....but there again the dog and cat are trying their best to find the choclates so DS is no problem!!

Went to see Santa today and had to queue for over 2 fucking hours - what a nightmare. There were 3 on duty as well . DCs were pretty well behaved considering - and they missed their lunch . we got there as it opened at 11 as well. The overflow car park was almost full! Thank god that is over for another year.

need to do a pre-Xmas clear out of toys otherwise nothing else will fit in this house.

Cards to do and pressies to wrap, but that's it now!

LittleMissNorty · 06/12/2009 22:38

Do take care of yourself.

WewishyouaNORTYxmas · 07/12/2009 13:48

Awww Ria . What sad news.

Look after yourself x

TheTwelveDAISYofChristmas · 07/12/2009 16:05

Ria. My thoughts are with you and your family. Losing someone close at this time of year is doubly hard ime.

trace2 · 07/12/2009 16:10

sorry Ria

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 07/12/2009 20:08

Ria, very sorry to hear that.

justbeme · 07/12/2009 21:52

Oh Ria - sorry for your sad news.
I guess you just have to put on a brave face for the sake of the children at times like this don't you? Must be hard though.

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 07/12/2009 22:18

They have found out what is wrong with my Dad. He had several "funny turns" this afternoon so Mum called an ambulance, and my DSis called a little while ago to say Dad is in hospital, he has tachycardia They want to keep him in for a few days and that's all I know at the moment

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 07/12/2009 22:31

Sorry Ria
