Hello Fairy Good to see you. Not much catching up to do . Not many of us left now......

JammyOLantern · 11/11/2009 21:01

Hi Fairy

Yes, we are increasingly thin on the ground...

LackaDAISYcal · 11/11/2009 21:24

only on the ground though jammy
Well I speak for myself, obviously!!

It is getting a bit quiet isn't it? I feel sorry for the PN threads that are eg July 2005 - the third birthday thread, and it's STILL in active convos occasionally and only has 300 posts!

We can always decamp to facebook since we are all on there a lot?

LackaDAISYcal · 11/11/2009 21:26

and yay for bumble, his temp is normal for the first time sonce the weekend!!!!

He is only in a nappy, t shirt and summer weight bag though! Hopefully this is him on the mend. My friend's DS has just been in hospital with this viral chest infection for the second time in a month

LittleMissNorty · 11/11/2009 21:36

Good news Daisy.....on the mend now!

I like it on here and I can get on here from work but not FB

LackaDAISYcal · 11/11/2009 21:41

don't worry norty, I couldn't leave MN even if I wanted to...it's like the fecking Hotel California

ameRIAcansmooth · 11/11/2009 21:48

I can't imagine I will ever be thin on the ground or anywhere else! Have been on the SW thread a bit in the hope it will help me lose weight, but it seems I also have to follow the rules of the diet

hi fairy!

I will go away if you're going to start talking knitting speak though. It's like a foreign language! I have spent just over an hour knitting tonight, and all that concentrating has made me incredibly hungry, so much for it replacing my snacking and wine habit on an evening

ameRIAcansmooth · 11/11/2009 21:50

what about Lola jammy?

LackaDAISYcal · 11/11/2009 21:53

what about the Witch from Room on the Broom jammy....you can get her a broom handle and stick some cuddly toys on it?

hi fairy . didn't mean to ignore you honest ! When you "see" people playing scrabble you tend to forget that you haven't seen them on here!

JammyOLantern · 11/11/2009 22:00

I like the idea of Lola but DH has pointed out that it might not be that different from normal!

justbeme · 11/11/2009 22:19

Hi everyone! I've been lurking !
Hope the temperatures come down soon!

Jammy - how about Little Red riding Hood - you could make a cape out of crepe paper and she could take a shopping basket?
I can't think of anything modern!!

ameRIAcansmooth · 11/11/2009 23:48

Hi JBM. How are you?

just been reading the Anthony Horowitz (sp) thread. not as knicker-wettingly funny as Chris from Doodle Do, but nonetheless.

this laptop is rubbish though, it can't cope with iplayer so no strictly for me.

ameRIAcansmooth · 12/11/2009 00:21

DS1 came home from schooltoday wearing a badge that says "I FRED" I don't suppose anyone knows what it means?

JammyOLantern · 12/11/2009 08:17

Ria

LittleMissNorty · 12/11/2009 09:21

who's Fred then?

LackaDAISYcal · 12/11/2009 09:32

Eh?

is it the bear or the politician?

bumble has turned a corner on the temp front and it'ss normal for the first time since Sunday...yay . He is still very wheezy and rattly and coughing though and seems exhausted.

he has discovered that he can turn toy boxes upside down and stand on them to get to high shelves though. Not sure whether to be pleased at how clever he is or to curse older siblings

I Neeeeeeeeeed a sewing machine. D'ye think I can find one on freecycle?

ameRIAcansmooth · 12/11/2009 10:47

thanks jammy. the black one is it. still not sure what it means though

glad bumble is back to normal. you can always tell they're getting better when they find new ways of mischief.

baggins has started replying to "you're a little monkey/fidget midget etc" with "I'm not a lickle monkey, I'm 'baggins'" (much better than DSS who used to say @I'm no nastard, I'm Bruce Lee"

well, it's nearly christmas in our house - DH got a letter for an appointment at BUPA this morning. next bloody Tuesday. 'spose that's our trip to see his DD tomorrow cancelled (and I'll bet he cancels his half day off) I have been looking at the calendar in despair this morning, working out the christmas logistics. Now it's beyond me!

ameRIAcansmooth · 12/11/2009 10:48

can I blame the keyboard for that post?

right, wish me luck, I am just going to sack the window cleaner (DH having pissed off to work leaving me to it)...

LittleMissNorty · 12/11/2009 13:48

How'd it go Ria?

cor, this looks scrummy

DD has woken up a miserable little moo

JammyOLantern · 12/11/2009 15:49

ooooh, indeed Norty [drool]

Got these for Jamlet today. Still only a 5.5 bless her. I wanted these from the independent shop, but £60 was too much.

FrazzledFairyFay · 12/11/2009 18:00

Daisy, does DS do 'Read Write Inc' phonics? I know that Fred the Frog has something to do with that - so that could explain the sticker?

JammyOLantern · 12/11/2009 21:17

OK ladies, ignore the prices and tell me

this or this?

LackaDAISYcal · 12/11/2009 21:25

Depends whether you want a doctor or a vet?

No 1 for me; llooks much more substantial.

Fairy, it was Ria's DS with the badge.

On that note, it's not some sort of drugs awareness thing is it Ria?

ameRIAcansmooth · 12/11/2009 21:38

OK, the badge was given to DS by a kid who also goes to the local private school (don't know how that works. weekend coaching maybe?) and apparently means Freedom Respect Education and something beginning with D. still not convinced. especially not after reading the thread on shag bracelets the other weekend.

1 jammy?

love the shoes. I want some!

LittleMissNorty · 12/11/2009 22:08

for those who want hinge covers for Maclaren buggys
